All About You
Mary opened her eyes to see the wall of her and her loves bedroom. She narrowed her eyes at this sight. With a large smile she remembered the other day. Looking up she saw his sleeping face. Mary's smile widen as her eyes looked upon his sleeping face. Moving slowly so not to wake him; Mary sat up. She reached her hand over to place it on the side of Newkirk's face. Mary leaned down and kissed him on the lips softly. Still smiling to herself; she softly got out of bed. She made her way to the bathroom quietly so not to wake her love. After she did what she had to in the bathroom; Mary took off her nightgown and put on her dress that she had laid in the bathroom last night. She brushed her hair out, and braided the same piece of hair that she had done the other day. Smiling to herself; she opened the bathroom door. Looking over to see if her love was still asleep; she smiled when she saw that he was. Mary softly walked out of the bedroom to make her way to the kitchen to start cooking breakfast for everyone. Once she closed the bedroom door; a smell hit her. With narrowed brows Mary made her way to the kitchen. Walking into the room; she saw her father at the stove cooking. Mary placed her hands on her hips, and walked more into the room.
"Papa what are you doing?" She asked him. Hogan jumped and turned around quickly when he heard her voice.
"What the hell!... Oh honey don't do that." He told her as he grabbed his chest. Mary giggled at her fathers reaction.
"I'm sorry Papa, but what are you doing? I was going to cook breakfaa… Where's your sling?" She asked her father. Hogan smiled quickly and told her.
"It's in the bedroom, and yes I will put it on after I get done cooking." Mary narrowed her eyes and walked over to him. She tried to take the spoon from him, but Hogan held it up in the air.
"Papa give me the spoon, and I will cook breakfast." She told him. Hogan shook his head.
"No I will not." He smiled wide as he saw his daughter narrow her brows together.
"Papa I mean it." She warned him. Hogan leaned down and told her.
"No I will not, because you are not going to be cooking today… at all." Mary raised one brow while the other was still narrowed.
"What do you mean by that?" She asked. Her father's smile grew into a large grin when he spoke.
"Because today is Sunday, and you are going to eat breakfast; then go out on the town." Hogan chuckled as he watched the look that came to his daughter's face. Mary dropped her arm, and folded them.
"What if I don't want to go out?" She asked.
"Tough; Kreizler told you to have one day a week to yourself, and I will make sure that you will have that day." He told her with a larger grin. Mary looked away and pouted. Hogan saw this and thought to himself. 'Oh I hope Will doesn't ever see her do that because I know what he will say…'
"Well look at that." Hogan looked up to see his love looking at him and his pouting daughter. "She even pouts like you." Klink said with a large smile. Hogan rolled his eyes at this. Mary turned to look at her Vater. Klink walked over to the both of them.
"Little Snow, you are going to listen to your father, and go out today. If you want you can ask Hilda to go with you?" He asked her. Mary sighed then thought of something; with a large smile she told them.
"I can't go out today; no one will be here to take care of Peter." She told them. Klink narrowed his brows at this.
"Someone will be here to look after him, and that will be me. Your father is going to go and talk to Kreizler, and I will be here." Hogan looked over at his love when he had said this.
"I am?" He asked him; causing the older man to look over at him.
"Yes you are. I think that might be a good thing for you to talk to him. Robert you need to talk to someone besides me and your little girl, and your friends about things." Klink watched the younger man sigh, and agree with him. The older man smiled wide at his love, and leaned over to kiss him on the cheek. Hogan smiled at this, and went back to cooking breakfast.
Hogan finished breakfast, and gave his love and daughter their plate's. Mary was going to wake her love up; when her Vater told her to let him sleep as much as he could this morning. The three sat down and ate the food. While they ate Hogan watched his daughter. He could see her trying to find some way for her not to go out today. When he saw her frown some; he smiled a little. 'She can't find a way out of this; can she.' He stated in his mind.
With Mary; she had thought of telling her fathers that she had to stay and take care of her love, but she knew that her Vater would take care of him. Then she thought of telling them that she had to wash clothes, but then she knew that her father would tell her brother's to do that for her. She had thought of starting to cook the food to give to the churches, but the truck had not gotten there yet. The last thing she didn't want to do was to fake sick, because Kreizler was still in camp. With a frown; she had ran out of ideas.
Once the three was done eating breakfast; Hogan told his daughter to get ready for church, and to go out. Mary pouted and walked back to her and her loves bedroom. She walked in and saw that her love was still asleep. Walking over to the closet as softly as she could; Mary opened the door. She looked over the clothes that she could wear out. Her eyes looked over the dresses and outfits she had made for herself. She reached over and grabbed a Victorian style corset fishtail skirt; with a black damask pattern on it. She reached inside the closet to grab a long sleeved white Victorian style high neck blouse; with ruffles. The ruffles started at her neck, and went down the chest of the shirt. Mary looked at the shirt, and pushed her lips together. Her eyes looked over the black trim on the shirt. Moving the skirt up she looked at it with unsure eyes.
"I like that." Mary looked over to see her loves blue flamed eyes looking at her with a loving look.
"Peter… Did I wake you?" She asked him. Newkirk sat up and shook his head.
"No. I just woke up to find my beautiful diamond heart holding up a beautiful outfit; that only she can pull off." He said with a smile. This made Mary smile wide at him. She walked over with the outfit still in hand.
"Papa is making me go out today, and I really don't want too. I want to stay here with you and take care of you." She admitted to him. Newkirk smiled at this.
"Well today is Sunday, and you should go and have fun today. I'll be alright. Vater is going to be here with me and Colonel Hogan too. You go and have a good time." He told her with a loving smile. Mary sighed, and went to put the outfit up. She stopped when she heard her love speak again. "I really think that you should wear that." He told her. Mary turned around with narrowed brows.
"Fine I will." She said as she made her way to the bathroom. Newkirk smiled as he looked down at the bed. When Mary came out of the bathroom; she saw that her love was not in the bed. With widen eyes; she quickly made her way out to the living room. Her eyes spotted Newkirk on the sofa. He looked up at her with a large smile.
"See that one looks great on you." He told her. Newkirk watched his love walk over to him quickly. Mary took his face into her hands, and looked into his eyes. 'What is she doin…' With a smile he knew what she was doing. He raised his hand up and touched one of hers.
"Snow, I'm fine. I'm not in pain, or anything like that. I will stay here in the house while you are out." He told her. Hogan walked into the room and saw his best friend's face in his daughter's hands. With a raised brow he asked.
"What are you two doing?" Newkirk tried to look over, but couldn't. Mary was still scanning his eyes trying to see if he was lying to her about not being in pain.
"Colonel please tell your daughter that I am alright. I told her that I was not in pain, but she will not listen." Newkirk grin wide when he saw his love narrow her eyes at him. Hogan sighed and walked over to them. He placed his hand on Mary's shoulder.
"Snow honey. Newkirk will be fine. Will is going to be staying with him, and after I talk to Kreizler; I will be back at the house." He told her. With a heavy sigh; she turned toward her father, but was still looking at her love.
"I'm sorry Papa, but I am not going until Peter is healed more." She told her father. Hogan narrowed his eyes at her. He went to speak to her in a strong voice, but then thought. 'If I do that; it may send her into a flashback…' Then he remembered how Burkhalter had spoke to Mary last night. 'A sweet, but strong voice.' He added in his mind.
"Mary Lace Hogan." Mary looked over at her father when she heard the tone of his voice, and her full name. "You will go out today, and go to the shops after church. Dr. Kreizler told you last night that you have to do this, and you will do it. Sweetheart, you can't be here all the time. You have to do things for yourself every once and awhile. Do you understand me." He spoke in the same tone of voice that Burkhalter spoke to her last night. Mary sighed and nodded her head.
"Alright I will go."
"Little Snow, you are acting as if we are sending you out to set fire to the town." They all looked over when they heard Klink's voice. "The only thing we want you to do is to have some you time." He told her.
"I know… it's just that I feel so guilty leaving my Huntsman here. I'm suppose to be taking care of him, and I can't do that if I am not here. I just don't want to turn into…" She didn't finish her thought. Hogan raised a brow at this. Then he realized what his daughter was about to say. Moving closer to her; Hogan hugged her.
"Mary honey, you will not turn into your mother; just because you have one day to yourself doesn't mean that you are turning into her. Lizzie only thought of herself all the time. You worry about everyone around you, and when you are here; you take care of all of us. Snow… you are not her. We don't want you to worry yourself to death over all of us. We are only asking you to go out and have fun for a day, not to scam everyone you meet. Your not Lizzie, and you will never be her… And I can tell you this; you dress a lot better than what she ever did." Mary looked up at her father with a small smile. Klink and Newkirk now realized why Mary was so afraid to do something for herself. Mary moved herself out of her father's arms, and looked up at him.
"I know that I am not like her, and I do dress better than she ever did… But I don't want to turn into her… Your right… I am nothing like her, but I still don't want to go. I feel bad for not being here to help both of you." She looked into her fathers chocolate eyes with her snowy blue ones. Hogan smiled and told her.
"We'll be alright. Newkirk and I have mother hen Klink here to make sure that we are not in pain, or will let us do something that will hurt ourselves." He smiled at her. Newkirk looked over at the older man who had narrowed his eyes at his best friend. Hogan looked over when he heard his loves voice.
"Mother hen Klink?" He asked him. Hogan smiled wide as he turned his head over to look at him.
"Yes, mother hen Klink." He said again, but this time with a larger smile. Klink rolled his eyes at this. Klink walked over to his daughter, and took her hand into his. She felt him place something in her hand. Mary looked at him; then down at her hand. Her eyes widen at what he placed in her hand.
"Why are you giving me money?" She asked. Hogan and Newkirk looked at Mary's hand, and saw the money.
"Because you can't go shopping without it." He told her with a smile; then added. "Now I want you to spend all of it." Mary looked at her Vater in the eyes.
"Alright… But how much is there?" She asked him. Hogan saw a large smile come to his loves lips.
"About three thousand Reichsmarks." He told her. All three eyes widen at this.
"You are given her three thousand to spend?" Hogan asked the older man. Klink looked over and smiled at him.
"Ja bin ich." He said in his native tongue. Klink saw his loves eyes widen some; then go back to normal. Hogan shook his head then spoke.
"Alright, but that's a lot isn't it?" He asked him. Klink shook his head as well and told him.
"No I don't think so."
"Well I do. That is way too much Vater." When Mary spoke; this caused both men to look over at her. Klink smiled; while taking her hand into his.
"No, you will need this if you want to buy something. And we all want to see you come back to camp with many bags. I have already told the two guard's that will be going with you; to make sure that you buy things for yourself, and only yourself." Mary looked at her love when he spoke next.
"Vater is right. You need to buy things for you and you alone; nothing for us." The three men saw her sigh, and nod her head.
"Alright." She said with a small smile. When she heard her father speak is when she looked toward him.
"I have to say that a lot of women will be asking you where you got your outfit from." He said with a large smile. Mary smiled at him; then noticed something off about her father.
"Papa… Where is your sling for your arm? You are done cooking; so why is it not on your arm?" She asked him. Hogan's smile fell as he glanced over toward his love.
"Ja Robert where is your sling?" He asked him. Hogan smiled wide as he raised his left arm up to rub the back of his neck and head with his hand.
"Well it is…"
"In the bedroom." Klink finished for him; then in a strong voice he added. "Go.. Put.. It.. On." Hogan pouted and walked toward the bedroom. Mary giggled as her father did this. Klink turn to watch the younger man walk into the bedroom. When Klink heard his daughter's voice; is when he turned back around.
"Vater, do you think that this outfit is too much?" She asked him. With a loving fatherly smile he told her.
"No that's perfect little Snow." Newkirk smiled at the smile that came across his loves lips. Mary looked at the bedroom to see if her father was coming yet. When she saw that he wasn't she asked one last thing.
"Vater, would it be alright if I get Papa a birthday gift? When I got here it was a few weeks after his birthday, and I would like to be able to get him something… please?" She asked him. Klink turned his mouth to one side, and looked down at Newkirk. Newkirk nodded his head.
"Alright, but just one gift for him is all." He told her. Mary smiled and nodded her head. They looked over as Hogan walked back out.
"There I have the damn thing on." He said in an annoyed voice. Klink raised a brow at his loves tone.
"There is no need for that Robert." Hogan looked at his love.
"I'm sorry Will, but this thing is rubbing against my neck and it is really starting to hurt." Klink narrowed his eyes, and walked over. He looked at the younger man's neck and saw that his neck was indeed a dark red in color.
"I will get you something to wrap around the part that rubs against your neck. It is a dark red color, but that doesn't mean that you take it off. You told me last night that your shoulder was hurting you. I think that you might have fractured it a little. I will ask Laszlo to look at it… Remember you hit the door pretty hard." He told him. Hogan nodded his head at this.
"Yeah I did." The younger man looked over toward his daughter. "You better get going, or you will be late to church." He told her. Mary made a face and looked over toward her Huntsman. Newkirk smiled at her and stood up slowly.
"I will be alright. You go and have a good day. I will be here when you get back, and I want to hear all about it when you get back too." This caused the young woman to smile a loving smile at him.
"I love you gold heart." She said this; then leaned up on her tip toes to kiss him on the lips. Once she had leaned back down; her love replied.
"I love you too diamond heart." Mary smiled at him; then looked over toward her father. Mary walked over and leaned up on her tip toes, and kissed her father on the cheek.
"I love you Papa." Hogan smiled.
"I love you too Snow." With a large smile Mary looked over toward her Vater. The older man walked the young woman out of the house. Klink walked Mary to the car that was waiting on her. He looked ahead, and saw the two guard's that was going with his daughter into town. He smiled as he saw the two young men's eyes widen at the sight of Mary in her outfit. Their mouth's dropped; then closed quickly when they saw Klink narrowing his eyes at them. The two walked up to the car, and Klink turned toward the young Lady.
"Mary this is Corporal's Julianisch Bischof, and Hans Habicht. They will be going with you into town today." Mary looked from her Vater to the two young men that was standing in front of her. She could see that they both were the same age as her love. Smiling at them Mary turned toward her Vater.
"I remember them." She looked back over to the two men, and added. "It is very nice to see the both of you again. I hope your Mutter is feeling better Hans." Habicht raised a brow at this. He nodded his head.
"Yes she is… How did you…?" He went to ask her. Mary smiled and told him.
"When my father, Colonel Hogan and I had passed out the sandwiches; you were talking to Corporal Bischof here about your mutter not feeling too well. That you thought that it was were she was not taking her medicine. I do hope that she is not forgetting again. I say that she remembers a lot better when you are there to remind her." Habicht's mouth dropped.
"Yes I was.. You remember that?" He asked the young lady. Both men looked over toward the older man when he spoke.
"Mary has a photographic memory; she can remember pretty much anything." Klink smiled down at her. Mary looked over toward Bischof when he spoke next.
"That is very amazing."
"Danke." Mary smiled and nodded her head. All three looked over at the older man when he spoke now.
"Now listen you two. You are to drive Mary wherever she wants to go. The first place will be to church; if you still want to go that is?" Mary nodded her head. Klink nodded his, and went on. "After that both of you will go wherever she wants to go, and you will help her carry her bags. Make sure that she buys things for herself, and one gift for her father. And only one gift for him." He pointed his finger at the two men in front of him; then turned, and pointed a finger at his daughter. Mary smiled, and nodded her head.
"I will." She told him. Klink dropped his hand, and turned toward the two men again.
"You will protect her with your life. Do you both understand." Both men's eyes widen at the tone in the older man's voice. Both men nodded their heads.
"Jawohl Kommandant." Both men said together. Mary smiled and shook her head. 'Vater is just as bad as Papa is.' She thought to herself. Klink turned toward her again and leaned down and kissed her on the forehead.
"Have a good time, and don't worry about any of us. We will all be alright, and I will take care of Newkirk while you are gone." He told her. Mary smiled at this; then leaned up and kissed her Vater on the cheek.
"I will, and I love you too Vater… Oh and have fun trying to keep that sling on Papa's arm." She giggled at the look that he gave her.
"Oh that will be so fun." He said sarcastically, but with a smile. "I love you too little Snow." He added which made the young woman's smile grew. Bischof moved and opened the door for her and Mary thanked him. Both of the men got into the front of the car. Mary waved at her Vater as the car drove off. Klink smiled and waved back.
"Now the real hell starts." He said out loud to himself.
-MN-
Hogan sighed as he watched the car drive away. In away he didn't want Mary to go out without him, but he knew that he couldn't go with her. Looking down at the ground; he closed his eyes. 'She will be alright.' He thought to himself. He opened his eyes again as he felt arms go around his waist. Glancing over he saw his love smiling at him. The older man didn't say a word to him, but looked around to see if anyone was watching them. When no one was looking; he leaned over, and kissed him on the cheek. Hogan watched his love walk into the house. With a sigh; Hogan walked off of the small porch. He made his way to the sick bay; where he would find the German doctor. Once inside the building; Hogan made his way into the room that he had once slept in only a day ago. He looked over and saw his and his loves beds were still pushed together. His eyes looked over at his daughter's and Newkirk's bed were at. 'They are still pushed together.' He thought to himself, and walked back to the back room that the German doctor was working in. He walked to the doorway, and knocked on the doorframe. Kreizler looked up from his desk.
"Colonel Hogan? What brings you here?" He asked not knowing why the young man was here. Hogan raised a brow and told the older man.
"Will told me that I had to come here and talk to you about somethings. I don't know what about." He admitted as he walked more into the room. Kreizler raised a brow at this.
"Well please come and sit down, and we will both try to find out why he sent you here." Hogan walked in and sat down.
"Will didn't tell you that I was coming over to talk?" He asked him. The older man shook his head.
"No. I had no idea about this, but since you are here. We can talk. What did Wilhelm tell you to come and talk to me about?" He asked. Hogan shrugged one shoulder.
"He told me that I have to talk to someone about things that I couldn't talk to him, Mary, or my friends about. I think he wants me to talk about my past, but I really don't want to talk about it any more. I have looked at it long enough."
"What do you mean?" Hogan looked at the German man.
"Well I know what happened to me with my father was not my fault at all. He was a big drunk, and yes he did beat me, sale me to a man for five bottles of liquor, but I know that it wasn't my fault. I had dated someone that was like my father. They had beat me, raped me, and almost killed me… But I got out of it. I know that I went for them because they were nothing like Lizzie. That was the last person that I had dated…"
"Until Wilhelm." Kreizler cut in. Hogan's eyes widen.
"What?" He asked as fear started to raise within him. Kreizler smiled at him.
"I noticed that you and Wilhelm call each other by your first names. I have seen the way both of you look at each other, and when you two were asleep in the next room; I saw him place his hand on yours, or the other way around." Hogan's eyes widen as his fear hit it's peak. The older German man saw this and spoke again.
"It's alright; I will not tell anyone. I believe that love will always find away… But I have to ask you. Are you afraid to let him all the way into your heart?" The fear that Hogan was feeling left him. He looked down at the ground, and spoke the truth.
"In away yeah I am. Lizzie broke my heart so badly; then Jason… he broke my body just as bad. Both of them, and my father… I guess… broke my mind too. I have had one night stands, but I haven't been in a relationship for along time. I am scared yes; just like anyone would be. But I know for a fact that Will would never do anything to hurt me… I mean he has had every chance to do that so far, and he has yet to do it. I know that I will not get hurt like before… Well I hope not, but you never know." Kreizler nodded his head.
"That is true. You never know what will happen. Tell me Colonel Hogan; do you have thoughts about taking your own life?" Hogan looked up into the man's hazel eyes.
"No I don't, and please you can just call me Hogan. I used to when I was younger, but not now. I know that I am needed. Will needs me, and so does Mary. I know that Newkirk, and my other friends need me too. I can tell you this; I don't have any thoughts like that. Now I'm not saying that a little voice doesn't pop up, and tell me things…"
"What kind of voice? What does it tell you?" Hogan sighed and told him.
"Well it usually says that I am nothing, and I will always let everyone around me down. But I know that's not true." Kreizler nodded his head at this.
"What does the voice sound like?" Hogan narrowed one brow and raised the other one.
"What?" He asked. Kreizler smiled and asked again.
"Who's voice do you hear when it's telling you that you are nothing, and that you will let everyone down? Is it your voice that you hear, Lizzie's, or Jason's?" Hogan now narrowed both brows, and thought on that. The older man watched the younger man's face soften.
"It's my father's voice. He always told me that I was nothing; he told me many times that some children were born lucky, but I was lucky to be born… I hear his voice a lot… Mostly when Mary is around." Kreizler leaned back in his chair and asked.
"What does he tell you about her?" Without looking at the man; Hogan sighed.
"That I will mess up… I will become him no matter how hard I try not to; I will still become him… I… I am afraid that I will still become him. I am afraid that I will start beating her; like he did to me. I don't want to become him, and I know that I am not like him… Will has told me that,… but that fear is still there."
"Is there times that you feel like you are going to hit her?" He asked. Hogan snapped his head up.
"NO! I would never do that! I never want to put her threw anything like that again! But… there is times that his voice is screaming in my head to hit her, and I am always yelling at him that I will not do that! I AM NOT YOU!" Kreizler's eyes widen as he saw the younger man looking down at the ground with large eyes.
"Hogan?... Robert?" Kreizler got up from his chair when he saw the younger man's body start to shake; like how Mary's did the other night. He quickly made his way to the phone. Holding the handset up he asked to be connected to Klink's private quarters. When he heard his old friends voice answer; Kreizler spoke.
"Uhm Wilhelm… I think I broke your boyfriend.. You might want to come to the sick bay, and help me." Kreizler placed the handset down. He walked over to the younger man who was still shaking.
"Hogan? You have to tell me what is going on. What is going on in your mind right now?" He asked. Hogan sat there still with his eyes widen, and staring down at the ground. His body was shaking like a frightened mouse that had been cornered by a hungry cat. Kreizler went to move closer, but stopped when he heard someone run into the room. Klink stood there at the doorway. His eyes were glued on his love.
"What happened?!" He asked as he took large steps over to his love, and older friend.
"I don't know. He was telling me that he was hearing his father's voice in his mind when Mary was around him." Klink looked at his friend with large eyes.
"What?"
"He told me that his father's voice was telling him that he was not a good father, and to hit her. He said that he had to fight the voice in his mind. Then he went into this… I don't know if he is having a flashback, or a breakdown." Klink looked over at his love. The sight of the one that he loved more than anything was sitting there shaking with widen eyes; it scared him to the core. Kneeling down in front of his love he tried to talk to him.
"Robert? Robert come on snap out of it." He told him as he placed his hands on the younger man's hand and leg. What happened next neither of the German men was prepared for.
The younger man's body stiffened as his breathing started to quicken. Klink looked down at his hands as he felt his loves body shaking under them. He glanced up to meet his loves widen chocolate eyes. Klink narrowed his eyes, and knew that his love wasn't seeing him, but the man who used to beat him as a boy. 'I have to bring him out of this.' The older man thought to himself. Without thinking; Klink leaned up and kissed his love on the lips. Kreizler narrowed his brows at this; then saw the younger man's eyes soften, and close.
"Holy hell that worked." Kreizler breathed out. Klink broke the kiss, and opened his eyes. He saw his loves eyes closed, and his body had calmed down. Hogan opened his eyes to find his love looking at him with a worried face.
"What happened? Will when did you get here?" He asked not knowing. The older man breathed out heavily.
"You went into almost a catatonic state that was mixed with a flashback… Robert… have you had these before?" His love asked him. Hogan shook his head.
"No, not that I know of… I'm sorry. I didn't mean too. I was talking to Kreizler, and I was telling him that I wasn't never going to hit Mary; like my father did to me… and I heard him screaming at me. It was like he was right beside me… screaming in my ear. I heard him as clear as I hear you. I… I'm sorry." As Hogan spoke his voice betrayed him by letting the two older men know that he was now exhausted.
"Come on lets get you to the house; so that you can lay down." Hogan stood up as his love did, and spoke to him.
"Yeah I am tired." He told him. Both looked over at Kreizler as he walked over to his desk. The older man opened the bottom drawer, and pulled out two books. He walked over, and handed them to his old friend.
"Here take these. Hogan I want you to write down what comes to mind. No matter what it is… I don't care if it's top secret in the military. I want you to write it down. And if it is I will not tell anyone…" Kreizler looked over at his friend with a smile. "I know not to piss Wilhelm off. I don't want his family coming after me." Klink narrowed his eyes at him.
"Really." Kreizler smiled wide at him. Hogan looked at both books with raised brows.
"Why do you want me to do…" The German doctor cut in by saying.
"Hogan you need to write down this stuff that comes to your mind. The voice of your father will not go away if you don't let it flow out somehow. That could build and build until it boils over, and you end up hurting someone. Writing it down; both what you hear, and what you say back at it. It will help calm the voice down; to where it will not come back. This will help you." Hogan sighed and nodded his head.
"Alright, but do I really need both of them though?" He asked. Kreizler smiled at him.
"You will be amazed just how fast the first one will fill up." He told him with a smile. Hogan nodded his head. He took the books. Klink helped his love out of the sick bay and to their little family home. As they walked up the steps Hogan spoke.
"I'm sorry Will… I didn't know that I was this broken. If I would have known… I could have told you, and saved you from dealing with this." Klink stopped walking up the steps to their family home. He looked at his love with widen eyes. Hogan glanced over to see the older man staring at him.
"What?" He asked him. Hogan sighed and turned fully around.
"Will I am broken. I have been hurt so badly by four different people in my life, and they have all fucked with my mind, my heart, and my body." When Klink heard the number of people that had hurt his love; he had gotten scared. 'Am I one of them?' He asked himself quickly; then listened as his love went on.
"Two of them were my own parents. My mother left me with a monster, and that monster who was my father; who enjoyed terrifying me every second of the day and night. Then I fell for a woman who used me for her own sick game. Then a man that only loved me; when he was hurting me… Will I'm scared to be in a relationship with you. I don't know how to be in a healthy relationship with anyone. I know that you would never hurt me, or even dream of it… But I'm scared I am going to fuck this up. I am so happy with you. I feel safe with you and loved, and wanted. I don't want to mess up and be alone. I love you very much, and I know I joked with you about pulling out all the stops about when you ask me… But you don't have too. I want to be with you… I just don't know if you want to be with someone as fucked up as me. You deserve so much better than me. I will not be angry at you; if you don't want me now." As Hogan spoke Klink walked up the stairs. He was now standing in front of the younger man. The older man walked into the house when the younger man finished talking. Hogan closed his eyes as a tear fell. Then snapped them open when he was pulled into the house. The door shut behind him as the older man walked in front of him.
"Where the fuck did that come from?" Hogan's eyes widen at this. He had never really heard the older man speak like this before. When he looked up he saw the older man standing there with a confused look on his face.
"What do you mean?" He asked trying his hardest not to smile; which was really hard not to, because of the look on the man's face.
"What I mean is; where the hell did you think that I would just drop you like that. Robert honey, I hate to tell you, but we are all fucked up in one way or another. I knew that you would have a hard time with relationships, because of what you had told me before. Lizzie ripped your heart out and crushed it; then this Jason used to smack you around… Robert, I know that you are scared; so am I. I haven't been in a relationship since Everett, and that was fifteen years ago. I was only thirty-five when he died. I have not been in a relationship since then. I'm scared too Robert. I am mostly scared at the fact that I…" Hogan smiled some when his love understood why he was afraid, but then he narrowed his eyes, and frowned at the end.
"Scared at the fact what?" He asked him. Klink looked away; then looked into his loves chocolate eyes.
"After the war, and it doesn't matter which side wins… I can't go with you or the others. I have to stay in Germany." Hogan's eyes widen at this news.
"What do you mean; you can't go with us, or me?" He asked feeling his heart starting to break.
"Robert if I leave with you, and go with you no matter where we go… I will be killed; someone will kill me. They will find out that I am German, and they will kill me. And if I stay here; I will be killed for helping you. So it doesn't matter where I go Robert… I will be killed." The older man looked away as he saw tears start to fall from his loves eyes. Closing his eyes as well; Klink waited to hear his love start to yell at him for not telling him sooner.
"Will… no one will kill you. You will be safe with me…"
"Robert do you think that everyone… everyone will be alright with me being German, and being with you… Do you think that they will be fine with that?" He asked the younger man. Hogan went to answer, but the older German added. "Everyone?" Hogan looked down at the ground.
"I can't speak for everyone that you and I will meet later on down the road, but I will not let anyone hurt you. I will find away for both of us to be together… But if some people I know has a problem with us being together… then fuck them. I don't need them in my life. I have everyone I need in my life now. I have my daughter who loves you, and sees you and calls you her second father. I have my best friend who sees you and calls you his father. I have my friend's that are fine with me being with you. Butler is fine with me being with you, and like I said before my mother will be damn happy that I found someone that loves me, and will not hurt me. There is someone else that I know will like you very much, but I will tell you about that later… Will, I love you, and damn it; I will not loose you. You are coming home with me, and all of us. I will find away." Klink looked up into his loves eyes to see that he meant every word that he was saying. The older man smiled wide at this.
"You know the sad part of this is; is that I know that you will find some way." He said with a large smile; then he added. "And I love you too." Hogan moved closer and kissed his love on the lips hard. Klink smiled into the kiss and kissed him back. The kiss broke and they smiled at each other.
"You two do know that most likely; you two are going to be moving in with me and Mary right." Hogan yelled at when he heard Newkirk's voice. Klink jumped when he heard his son's voice. Newkirk started to laugh at the two men that were in front of him.
"WHAT THE HELL NEWKIRK!" Hogan yelled out as he placed his hand over his chest.
"That was not funny." Klink told him. They both looked over and saw the younger man sitting on the sofa looking at them. Newkirk couldn't help himself he had to laugh a little harder at this.

Mary walked down the steps of the church. Looking behind her; she saw one of the guard's that came with her. When Mary had sat down in the church; she had noticed that Bischof had stood against the wall. While church was going on; Mary would glance over at him. Bischof was looking at the stain glass windows that was in the church. Mary had looked around to look at all of the windows herself. They all had different scenes within them. The stain glass casted many colors on the floor, and walls. As she reached the car; Habicht leaned up from the car, and opened the door for her. Mary thanked him and got in. She watched as both men got into the front of the car. Bischof turned back and asked her.
"So where to now Fräulein?" Mary smiled and told them.
"Back to the camp please." She watched as both men turned around and looked at her.
"No. We were told to take you to the shops in town." Habicht told her. Mary frowned at this, and had hoped that they would have forgotten by now.
"Fine… But I don't know what kind of shops are here though?" She admitted.
"Well there are books, jewelry, and many clothing stores, and there is the markets." Bischof told her. Mary nodded her head and thought to herself. 'Well if I go to one of the stores; then maybe I can go home back to Peter.'
"I guess that we can go to a clothing store." She told them. Habicht turned the car on and drove her to a clothing store. Mary looked down at her hands, and sighed. Bischof heard this and glanced back.
"You really don't want to do this do you?" He asked her. Mary glanced up, and told him the truth.
"No not really. I would rather be back at the camp taking care of my gold heart." Both men smiled at this.
"He'll be alright Fräulein." Habicht told her as he stopped the car in front of a clothing store. "We are here." He added. Mary rolled her head over and looked at the store. Bischof had to look ahead so not to laugh. With a heavy sigh Mary got out of the car after Habicht had opened the door for her.
"She really doesn't want to do this." Bischof chuckled lightly as he got out of the car as well. Habicht smiled and shook his head.
"No she does not." They both saw Mary standing in front of the store, and looking at it with unhappy eyes.
"You know Fräulein; you could just go to the other stores. There is no way you can buy something in there that you can't make." Said Bischof. Mary turned her head and nodded.
"That's true, but I have to go back to the camp with bags in hand, or Papa and Vater will be angry at me." She told him. Bischof walked away from the car to stand beside his friend, and in front of the young woman.
"Well how about you go into the other stores then. There is a fabric store across the street." He pointed to the store with his thumb. Mary looked over and saw the store. Both men saw a large smile come to her face.
"True there is, and I could always use more fabric… Okay, but which one of you is coming with me?" She looked from Bischof then to Habicht. Both men looked at each other. Bischof smiled and pointed a finger at his friend. Habicht sighed and nodded his head. Mary smiled wide as they started to walk across the street. Habicht opened the door for Mary, and once again she thanked him. Mary walked into the store and looked around. Habicht saw a larger smile come to her lips.
"Oh damn I'm in heaven." She said as she walked farther into the store. Habicht closed his eyes and tried not to laugh.
Mary walked around the store, and looked at the fabric. Habicht was caught off guard when the young woman started to put rolls of fabric in his arms. The store owner watched the two with widen eyes. She then looked at the young woman with narrowed eyes. Mary walked around the store, and handed Habicht more and more rolls. At one point he almost dropped a roll. By the time they got to the different types of laces; his arms were loaded down.
"Uhm Fräulein… I think this is enough." He told her. Without looking at him; Mary answered him.
"Nope not even close." His eyes widen as she started to look at a roll of red lace. Habicht heard from behind him the store owners voice.
"You can go and set those down up front." She told him. Mary giggled when he asked.
"Okay… could you lead me… I can't see where I'm going." With a laugh the woman answered him.
"Ja this way dear." The woman took him by the arm, and led him to the front. Mary giggled as she looked at the blue colored lace now. When Habicht walked back to where Mary was; he sighed as the young woman started to place the red lace, and the blue lace in his arms as well as other colors of lace.
"Fräulein Mary… I think this is enough. You will not have any money left." He said as he caught a roll when it almost fell out of his arms.
"I know… that's the idea. One stop shopping, and please call me Mary." She laughed as she told him this. Habicht looked at her with narrowed eyes.
"I think the Kommandant and Colonel Hogan would be upset if you spend all your money in here… and I thought that you wanted to buy your father a birthday gift." He told her. Mary frowned and looked away.
"Bloody hell your right." The older man sighed a happy sigh. He didn't know how much more his arms could hold, or take at this moment.
"So can I put these back?" He asked hopeful that she would tell him yes. Mary looked over at him.
"Nope still getting them." She told him. The older man sighed at this news.
"But there is not enough room in the staff car for all of this." He told her.
"I can sit up front with the both of you." She told him. With a heavy sigh; Habicht dropped his head.
"I know you." Mary looked over at the store owner. Mary smiled wide at the woman when she added. "You're the young lady who bought all of my fabric when I had went to Stalag 13." Mary nodded her head at the woman.
"Ja I am." She told her with a large smile. The woman looked down at Mary's outfit.
"You made that with the fabric you bought?" She asked. Mary's face redden as the woman started to look at her outfit with a large smile and eyes.
"Ja I did. I have made many dresses, and outfits with them." Mary told her.
"I have never seen any of the fabrics that I sale be made into something like this." She said as she looked into Mary's eyes.
"Do you like it?" Mary asked her. The woman smiled wide at this question.
"I love it!" She told her. Mary smiled and told the woman.
"Well if you would like to come to the camp in a few weeks I can show you everything that I have made." Mary smiled at her.
"Oh I would love that."
"Isn't your birthday in a few weeks?" Habicht asked. The store owner looked at him; then back at Mary.
"Ja it is." Mary looked from the man over to the woman when she spoke.
"Oh I can come the day before or after if that's alright." She said. Mary smiled and shook her head.
"No please I would love for you to come and see all that I have made. That would be a great birthday gift." Mary said with a large smile. The woman smiled wide and nodded her head.
"Very well… I have some new fabric in the back; if you want to see it. I have not put it out yet, and you can be the first one to look at them. Oh and by the way my name is Aylee." Both Mary and Habicht had two different reactions. Mary smiled wide and followed the woman; while Habicht wined out.
"She doesn't need any more… my arms can't take that much more." He lowered his head; then snapped it up when he heard Aylee yell out.
"Your young; you can carry it." Habicht laid his head back and groaned.

Meanwhile back at camp; Hogan woke up in his and his loves bed. He looked around the room and smiled; then sighed. He had to get up, and go down in the tunnels to radio the underground to set up the meeting with an agent. He got out of bed and put on his sling. 'If I don't put this damn thing back on; mother hen Klink will kick my ass.' He thought to himself. He then noticed that the sling felt different then before. Hogan walked over to the floor length mirror and smiled. Klink had wrapped a soft fabric around the part of the sling that laid at his neck. Hogan smiled wide at what his love had done for him. He walked out of the bedroom and into the living room. His eyes spotted his love sitting on the sofa reading a book. Klink looked up and smiled.
"What are you doing out of bed, and with your sling on too." Hogan narrowed his eyes at the older man. Klink smiled wide at his love when he did this.
"Yes I do have it on… and thank you for wrapping the fabric around the top for me." He said with a large smile. Klink smiled and sat his book to the side.
"Well when I helped you to bed I saw that the color on your neck is more of a dark purple now; so I wanted you to feel better about wearing it." Hogan smiled at this and blushed a little. The older man saw this and smiled wider. Hogan looked up and scanned the room with his eyes.
"Where's Newkirk?" He asked.
"He was starting to hurt; so I gave him a pain shot, and helped him to bed." Hogan nodded his head at his loves words.
"Well I have to go down into the tunnels, and radio the underground to set up the meeting for Hochstetter." He said as he made his way to the tunnel. Klink quickly got up and beat him to the stove. Hogan looked at the older man as he placed his hand on the stove.
"No your not. Robert you are not going down into the tunnels." He told him. Hogan smiled at him.
"I know that you care about me, but I have to do this. I have to be the one to set up the meeting this time. It can't be Kinch. They have to hear my voice, and when I tell them who is coming with me; they will definitely need to hear it. Will, I will be okay down there, and you can stay up here and look after our son." Hogan smiled wide at this as Klink chuckled at this little joke.
"Alright but please take your time going down there… please." The younger man stepped closer to the older man. Hogan leaned in and kissed his love on the lips. Klink kissed him back and moved out of the way. Hogan made his way down into the tunnels. Once he was down; he walked to the radio room. He walked into the room and saw that Kinch was sitting at the radio. The man looked bored out of his mind. Kinch looked at his Commanding Officer as he walked over toward him.
"Colonel what are you doing down here?" He asked him. Hogan smiled and told him.
"You looked bored out of your mind; so I thought I would come down here and tell the underground about the meeting with Hochstetter." Kinch's eyes widen at this.
"Oh I'm not that bored." Hogan smiled at him.
"Get Hammelburg underground on the radio." With a sigh Kinch did as told. He knew that this was not going to go well.
"Oh okay, but I do want to listen in on this one." He told him. Hogan smiled and placed the headset to his ear.
"South Star this is Papa Bear… Do you read me South Star?" Kinch asked over the line.
"This is South Star Papa Bear what do you need?" A females voice came over the line.
"South Star go to safe channel." Kinch told the voice. Within a few seconds they heard the voice again.
"Alright Papa Bear safe channel is on; what is it that you need?" The voice asked again.
"South Star this is Papa Bear, I need you to meet me at a location near me. I will be bringing someone with me. This meeting is for him; not me." Hogan said into the microphone.
"What kind of meeting is this Papa Bear, and who is this someone you are bringing?" Asked the voice.
"Well the person I am bringing is a Major from the Gestapo. He wants to help Snow White with her fortune. It will be just me and him, and I will have him at gun point." He told the voice. For a few seconds neither one heard anything; then they heard the voice say.
"I'm sorry who and for what?!" Hogan laughed at this.
"You heard me South Star. Major of Gestapo wants to help my little Snow get her fortune, and I did give him a test to see if this was a trick, and he passed the test. He really means to help little Snow." He said again.
"Alright, but if I get killed; I will come back to haunt your ass. We will meet in the graveyard outside of Hammelburg at midnight tomorrow night. South Star out." With that the line went dead. Kinch started to laugh at the look on his Commanding Officer's face.
"Did she have to say graveyard at midnight." Hogan closed his eyes with that. He opened them when he looked over to hear Carter run into the radio room.
"Colonel you will not believe who is here in the tunnels." Hogan and Kinch looked at the younger man.
"Who?" Hogan asked.
"Colonel Crittendon."
"What? What the hell is he doing here?" Hogan asked as he went to find the British Colonel.
"I don't know, but you know that it's not good." Carter said as he, and Kinch followed their Commanding Officer.

Bischof yawned as he waited for his friend and the young woman to come back to the car. He looked at his watch with widen eyes. 'They have been in there for three hours.' He said in his mind. He looked over as he saw the door to the fabric store open. He watched as his friend walked over to him.
"What the hell; you two have been in there for three hours. Did she buy the whole store?" He asked.
"Almost." Bischof's eyes widen at this.
"What?" He asked.
"Yeah.. Call the camp and tell them to send a truck to pick this stuff up. Oh and she now is wanting to go out and shop." Said Habicht with a sigh.
"A truck?" Asked his friend.
"Yes a truck." Habicht said and walked back to the store. Bischof sighed and went to radio the camp.
Afterwards he walked around the car, and stood watching the store. His eyes spotted Mary and his friend walking out of the store, and over to him. The young lady had a large smile on her face. She walked up to him and asked him if he had called for a truck and he told her yes. Mary smiled wide at hearing this news. She looked over at Habicht and asked him where the book store was. He told her that it was a few buildings down from the clothing store.
"I would like to go there next if that's alright?" She asked him. Habicht nodded his head and looked at his friend.
"How about you go with her this time, and I will stay with the car." Bischof narrowed his eyes at his friend; then looked down when Mary spoke to him.
"Please Julian?" She asked him with enlarged eyes. He sighed and started to walk toward the store. Mary giggled and followed him.
Habicht smiled and stood in front of the car. 'I hope she is not in there for hours like she was at the fabric store.' He thought to himself. Mary walked beside of Bischof as he showed her where the book store was. She looked up at him at one point, and saw what looked like to be anger on his face.
"Julian are you alright?" She asked him. He looked over at her.
"Yes I am." He snapped at her. Mary's eyes widen at the tone of his voice.
"Are you sure? I only called you by your name." She told him. Bischof stopped at the door of the book store, and looked down at her.
"No my name is Julianisch." He told her in a strong voice. Mary narrowed her brows then thought. 'He doesn't know what his…' With a sweet smile Mary told him.
"Julian is the English version of Julianisch." She told him. Bischof raised a brow at this.
"It is?" He asked her.
"Yes it is. In English your name is Julian Bishop; just like Habicht's name in English means Hawk. Which I have to say I do want to call him Hans Hawk." She said with a giggle. Now knowing this; Bischof chuckled lightly as a small blush came to his cheeks.
"Oh then I'm sorry that I got angry at you. I had never heard my name in English before." Mary smiled at him.
"It's alright. I should have asked you if I could call you that." She said with a sheepish smile now. Bischof said while still smiling.
"It's alright… and I think that you should call him that. He does have eyes like a hawk." He admitted to her. Mary smiled as Bischof opened the door for her. Mary thanked him and walked into the store. She waved at the older man that was behind the counter. The older man waved at the young lady that was dressed in a beautiful outfit.
Mary walked around the store and looked at each book both high and low. Bischof looked over to a shelf and looked at a book. He glanced over and saw the young lady filling her arms with books. With a sigh he walked over and took them from her. Mary smiled and thanked him. Bischof went to walk off, but Mary grabbed him by the belt to stop him. He looked over at her; only to have three books added to the five he had in his arms. Bischof followed Mary around the store. He would lean down to let her put more books onto the stack in his arms. Once he had twenty-three books in his arms; Mary had to guide him to the front. The older man's eyes widen at the sight of all the books the young lady was getting.
"Oh my… those are a lot of books." He said as he started to type in the prices of the books.
"Oh is that too many? I can put some back if someone else was wanting to buy them." The older man looked at the young lady. He at first thought that this young woman was mouthing off to him, but once he saw the worried look in her eyes; he told her.
"No dear… the books you have; has been setting on the shelves for many months. Some of them have been here for years." He told her with a smile. The older man saw the worry leave the younger woman's eyes.
"Oh alright; I just don't want to take a good book away from someone who would really like it." Bischof raised a brow at her.
"No hardly anyone comes in here. If so it's mostly a mistake; you are the first real customer I have had in along time." He admitted to her. Mary frowned at this.
"Oh I'm sorry… Well now that I know that you have so many wunderbar books; I will come in every Sunday." She told him with a smile. The older man smiled at hearing this good news.
"That would be wunderbar." Mary smiled at him; then looked away. She had to ask if he had the one book that she wanted to find so badly.
"Do you have Snow White and The Huntsman?" She asked him. The older man turned his head, and thought about it. With a shake of his head he said.
"No my dear I do not, but I could try to find it for you though." He told her. Bischof watched a large smile come to the young lady's lips.
"Oh that would be wunderbar; danke… if that is not too much trouble that is." The older man smiled.
"No dear it is not too much trouble. I am going to be finding some more books to bring into my store, and that can be one of them." Mary smiled and asked him.
"What other books are you going to be finding?" The man smiled and told her.
"Well The Brothers Grimm, Giambattista Basile, Charles Perrault…" Mary smiled and cut in.
"Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve, Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, and Hans Christian Andersen?" She asked with excitement. The older man nodded his head.
"I was going to get some of them, but I can find all of them, and call you to tell you that they are here." He told her. Mary smiled wider.
"Oh could you please; that would be wunderbar! Danke!" The older man smiled wide, and told the excited young lady how much for all the books, and asked her for the number to reach her at. Mary smiled while handing him the money, and told him to call Stalag 13. The older man narrowed his brows at this. Mary smiled and told him that her Vater was the Kommandant there. He smiled at her, and told her that he would call when he found them. She thanked the older man; then turned toward Bischof with a large smile.
"Can you carry them all?" She asked him.
"I can, but you may have to carry three of them." He told her with a smile. Mary picked up three books as Bischof picked up the rest. Habicht looked down at his watch. The young lady, and his friend had been in the books store for an half an hour. He looked up when he heard the young woman call out his English version of his last name.
"Hawk can you help Julian please?" She asked him. He looked behind the young lady, and saw his friend standing there with his arms full of books. He moved quickly and took half of the books from him.
"You were not in there that long." He stated; then noticed what she had called him. "Did you just call me Hawk?" He asked her. Mary nodded her head.
"Yes that is what your last name means in English." Bischof smiled at this. Habicht tilted his head and thought about this.
"I do like that." He said with a smile. Bischof nodded his head and told his friend.
"Fräulein Mary told the store owner that she would come in every Sunday now, and he is finding a lot of books for her." Habicht sighed at this; mostly because he knew that he was the one to go with her next time. Both men looked over toward Mary when she spoke up.
"Both of you can call me Mary." She told them with a smile. "If you both would walk over here I can put the books in the car." She added.
"We can put them in the car until the truck comes; then we can put them in there if that is alright Fr.. Mary?" Asked Bischof. Mary smiled at him.
"That sounds wunderbar, and then I would love to go to the jewelry store next if that is alright?" She asked them. Both smiled and nodded their heads at her. Mary placed the books into the car, and closed the door.
"Habicht how about you go with her this time?" Bischof asked his friend.
"Why do one of you have to stay here with the car?" She asked them. They both looked over at her and told her.
"This is the Kommandant's staff car; one of us have to make sure that it will not be taken." Bischof explained it to her. Mary narrowed her brows at this.
"Who would take his car?" She asked.
"You never know." Habicht spoke up next.
"Well that is not very nice for someone to do." Mary said while shaking her head. Habicht stepped over and spoke up.
"I'll walk you to the jewelry store." Mary smiled at him and nodded her head. Bischof moved and leaned up against the car door and lit a cigarette.
Habicht walked beside Mary down the street. He looked over at her to see that she was smiling wide, and looked like she was having a good time out. He looked ahead, and thought back on the first time he had saw her. He was standing beside Bischof near the gate of the camp. It was late at night when a Gestapo car pulled into camp. He watched a man help her into the Kommandantur; then saw her and both Colonels walking to the Kommandant's Private Quarters. After that both; he and Bischof had seen her off and on walking from the house to the Kommandantur. She was always with her father Colonel Hogan, the Kommandant, or the Englishman. He would watch her walk with her eyes looking down, or was looking around the camp. Habicht had told Bischof and the other guard's that she was very beautiful. Some of the guard's had talked about sleeping with her, or making her their wife. They would all talk about how she was like some of the POW's; they hated them and wanted nothing to do with them. Those POW's that thought that was always the new ones. He had actually thought at that time she was like them; she wouldn't talk to anyone, or even look at them.
Then after her step father had gotten into camp, and had almost killed her and her love. They all realized why she would not talk to them. This young lady was so scared. Closing his eyes; he remember hearing this young woman screaming out her loves name, and begging him to come back to her. When he and Bischof had heard this; they had took off running toward the house. When the Kommandant came running out of the house with her in his arms, and was running toward the sick bay; his heart sank. Both he and Bischof had went into the house; as the Englishman's friends carried him out, and toward the sick bay. He saw Colonel Hogan was in shock after what all had happen, and seeing all of the blood, and the dead man on the floor. Both he and Bischof had learned what the Englishman Newkirk had done to safe his love from her step father; both were shocked at this. When they all had learn that she and her love was going to be alright; he remembered that all in the camp was so happy. Then the day that she had walked up to him, and handed him the sandwich; it had shocked him. He had never thought that this young woman would actually make him and the other's something to eat. Habicht looked over again, and saw the large smile on her face like she had that day; it brought a smile to his own lips. Habicht stopped at the jewelry store, and went to opened the door for her. They both stopped; when they heard someone say Mary's name.
"Fräulein Mary?" Habicht's heart raced as he saw the man who had said the young lady's name. Mary smiled wide at the man and said.
"Hallo Herr Major Hochstetter."

"What are you doing here Crittendon?" Hogan asked as he walked up to the man, and LeBeau. LeBeau had left the sewing room, and came to the tunnel entrance when he heard that Crittendon was in the tunnels. He had told Jackson and Thomas to keep working on the new uniforms that they would need later this week. The older Colonel smiled at the younger one when he walked up to him.
"I am here because I have a plan, and I need you chaps to help me carry it out." He said with a large arrogant smile.
"Oh really? And what plan is that?" Hogan asked knowing oh too well that this man's plans never worked.
"Well I think that we should take over the camp. The POW's become the guard's, and you will be second in Command." As he said this he rocked on his heels. Hogan raised a brow at this.
"Which camp, and who would be in first Command?" He asked him knowing the answer to his questions before he asked them.
"This camp, and I will take the place of the Kommandant here, and end this war." He said in a egotistic voice.
"This camp, and you will be Kommandant. Crittendon didn't you think of what would happen when people come here; like I don't know General Burkhalter? He knows what Klink looks like and all of the guard's…"
"Oh don't worry chaps; we will kill all of them." When the older Colonel said this; Hogan had stiffened up, and had rage run threw him. Hogan was about to yell at the man when he heard his loves voice behind him.
"Hogan? What is going on here?" Hogan turned to see Klink standing there in the tunnel. Crittendon's eyes widen at the sight of the German man in the tunnel.
"You should have stayed up top; oh well that makes my job easier." Crittendon said as he pulled out a gun and pointed it at Klink. Klink's eyes widen as did everyone else's. Hogan saw the gun and stood in front of his love. Klink grabbed Hogan by his good arm to try to move him out of the way, but stopped when Hogan spoke.
"Crittendon, Klink is on our side. He always has been, and YOUR NOT KILLING HIM!" Kinch, Carter, and LeBeau saw the fear, and rage in their friends eyes as he stood in front of his love. They looked over at the older Colonel when he spoke.
"He is a soulless monster, and you yet stand in front of him; well I guess one of your men will have to be my second in Command then." He said in his usual arrogant voice. Hogan's friend's moved to stand beside their Commanding Officer, and in front of Klink. Klink looked at each one of them, and smiled a small smile.
"He is one of us." Carter spoke up. Crittendon looked at the youngest man with narrowed brows.
"Well I see that all of you have turned." He told them, and moved the gun over to Carter first. He went to pull the trigger, but stopped when he heard a click near his head. Crittendon lowered the gun and turned his head to find one of the POW's standing behind him.
"If I was you Crittendon… I would put the gun away. London knows that the Kommandant is on our side. You have no right here, and you are not in Command either. Put the gun away, and leave this camp. I don't care if I do get court-martialed for this or not, but you will not kill neither Colonel's, or my fellow POW's; just because you are a dumbass." Jackson held up his gun more to where the older man could look down the barrel of the gun. Klink smiled as he saw who was defending him. Crittendon turned around when he heard Hogan speak to him.
"Crittendon! Jackson is right! London knows about Klink, and they are fine with it. No one is going threw with your brainless idea! First of all; Like I said Klink is on our side, and has been for a long time, and second; no one will be killing anyone! We don't have the man power to do that anyway, and I will not go threw with a half cocked ignorant idea that was thought up by a man who thinks he is so damn important, but who is really valueless!" Kinch, Carter, LeBeau, but mostly Klink had stepped back and was shocked at Hogan's reaction. All knew; why Hogan was reacting this way. When Crittendon had said kill all of the German's here; they saw Hogan's eyes widen with fear and rage.
"I don't know why… no I know why you want to do this; you want to do this so that you can look as great as you think you are… but your not. You are no better than that bastard in Berlin that we are fighting. You want everyone to look at you, and not see a worthless piece of shit!... Leave Crittendon, and don't ever come back here. I have too many people I have to keep safe, and out of harms way; I don't need you here at all. You come back here I will kill you myself." Hogan turned and walked away from the older Colonel. Klink moved and followed his love. He knew that Hogan would need to talk about this, and that he would need to calm him down.
"Well he is upset today. What got him so upset?" The older man turned to ask LeBeau as he put his gun away. LeBeau looked up at him and told him the truth; as Jackson lowered the gun, but still had it in his hand.
"You, you stupid man."
"Well then… I will be making my way to London then." When Crittendon said this; the four men looked at him with raised brows.
"What? You were going to London, and you wanted to stop here on your way threw?" Kinch asked him. Crittendon laughed at this.
"Haah I did yes, but since you chaps don't have the man power to carry out my plan; I will leave… Don't worry chaps I'll be back." He said and climbed up the ladder. Once he was gone; Kinch looked over at Carter when he spoke up.
"Do you think that he will go and bring men here to carry out his plan?" Carter asked looking over at Kinch.
"I don't know Andrew; he could, but lets hope not." The three men looked at LeBeau when he spoke up next.
"I have never seen Colonel Hogan that angry before." He stated.
"I know. I thought he was going to get a gun, and shoot him right there." Carter said then looked down at the ground and added. "But then again; when Crittendon was going to kill Klink and take his place… I think that's why Colonel Hogan got really angry." Both Carter and LeBeau looked over at Kinch when he spoke up next.
"Yeah… I don't blame him. Crittendon just told him that he was going to kill his boyfriend; so I say he was more scared than angry." Both nodded their heads at Kinch's words while Jackson looked away with widen eyes. 'Oh that explains a lot.' He thought to himself.

"Hallo Herr Major Hochstetter." Mary said with a large smile. Hochstetter walked up to the young lady.
"What are you doing out without your father or Colonel Klink?" He asked her. Mary's smile fell some.
"Dr. Kreizler told me that I had to spend a day once a week doing what I wanted to do. And both of my father's had told me to go out, and have fun. Peter also told me to go out, and to do what Kreizler said. I have to admit I was not wanting to do this, but it is kind of fun really." As she spoke her small frown turned into a smile. Hochstetter smiled at this.
"Well I am glad that you are having fun today." He said in a happy tone. Habicht narrowed his eyes at the Gestapo Major. 'I don't know if he is really happy for her, or if he is acting.' The young man tried to see what the Major was trying to pull. Habicht looked over at Mary when she spoke to the Major.
"And what are you doing out today?" She asked him. Hochstetter said with a smile.
"I had to get out of my office for awhile. The paperwork was starting to get overwhelming." He told her the truth. Mary smiled at him.
"I can understand that; Vater has to take breaks as well. It seems that there is no end to his paperwork." Hochstetter nodded his head, and noticed the store that Mary was standing in front of.
"Are you going into the jewelry store?" He asked.
"Yes I am. I want to buy Papa a birthday gift. When I had came to Germany; I was two weeks short of missing his birthday." Both Mary and the Major looked over at the young guard when he spoke.
"Yes you are to buy one gift for your father, and the rest is for you. I know that you bought all that fabric to be able to make everyone gifts, and the books you bought; I say is so that you can read them to your sweetheart while he is in bed." Mary frowned at Habicht's words.
"Alright you caught me. I did buy those things for not only myself, but for others too. I can't help it; I like buying or making things for the people that I care about."
"Well that is good yes, but you were told to be buying things for only yourself today, and no one else." He reminded her. Mary frowned at this, and lowered her head.
"I don't know if I deserve any of it." She admitted. Habicht was about to tell her that she did; when the Major spoke up.
"You deserve so many wunderbar things, and I will make sure that you get them." He told her with a large smile. Mary looked over at him, and so did Habicht.
"What do you mean that you will make sure of it?" Mary asked him. Hochstetter smiled wider and told her.
"I will walk around with you and make sure that you buy yourself some beautiful jewelry." He told her, and moved to the door. As Hochstetter opened the door for her; he smiled. Mary narrowed her eyes at him; then smiled.
"Alright, but if you are going to be walking around with me; then you can help carry what I buy." She smiled as she walked pass him. The Major looked over at the young man. He saw the look on the younger man's face.
"I'm sure that she will not buy that many things." He said and followed Mary into the store. Habicht waited until the Major was out of earshot when he said.
"You have no idea how much that girl can buy." He said; then sighed heavily and walked into the store. Mary walked around the store, and looked at all of the jewelry. She smiled to herself as she looked at the necklaces, and earrings. She looked over at Hochstetter when he told her.
"These earrings would look beautiful with that green dress of yours." Mary smiled at him and nodded her head.
"They would look very nice with that dress." She told him. The woman of the store walked over to them and smiled.
"Can I help you with something?" She asked.
"No…"
"She will take the green earrings." Said Hochstetter. Mary looked over at him with narrowed eyes. He looked over toward her and smiled; then added. "I told you that you will buy some beautiful things for yourself." He reminded her. Mary looked away and sighed.
"Alright.. Fine I will take them." She said with another sigh. The woman took the earrings out of the case and showed them to her. Mary looked back at the earrings. They were a beautiful white gold emerald water drop dangle with diamonds. Mary's eyes widen as she looked at them up close.
"Oh they are beautiful, but they are way too much." She told the woman.
"Yes but you have the money for them. You still have two of the three thousand marks left." Said Habicht. Hochstetter looked over to the younger man; then to Mary.
"Klink gave you three thousand marks?" He asked her. Mary nodded her head at this.
"Yes, and he did tell me to spend it all." Mary said with a sigh. Hochstetter looked away, and thought. 'Klink gave her that much for her to spend on herself?' He looked over at Mary when she spoke again.
"Alright I will take them… Could you please show me the men's jewelry?" She asked the woman. The woman nodded her head, and walked over to the other counter. Hochstetter moved and stood beside the young guard.
"You know that will be the only thing in this store she will buy for herself." Said the younger man. Hochstetter looked at the younger man with narrowed brows.
"What makes you say that?" He asked the young guard. Habicht looked over and told him.
"You heard her; she hates buying things for herself. Those earrings are the only thing she has really bought for herself so far, and she has been shopping for almost four hours now." With that said Habicht looked back over toward the young woman.
The woman showed Mary some jewelry for the men. Mary smiled wide when she saw a silver signet ring with an R in old English. She pointed at the ring and told the woman that she would take that one. The woman nodded her head and took the ring out to show the young woman. Hochstetter looked over at the case that had different kinds of necklaces in it. Then he had an idea that he hoped would work. He glanced over as Mary walked back over to the case where he was standing at. Habicht moved over to let Mary stand near the case. As the woman was putting the ring, and the earrings in a box; Hochstetter walked over toward Mary.
"Fräulein Mary, could you help me pick somethings out for my niece? You and her have the same taste in jewelry." He asked and stated. Mary smiled and nodded her head. Habicht looked at the Major with a raised brow.
"Oh I would love to help you." Hochstetter smiled as he started to look at the necklaces.
Mary picked out many different ones, and the woman pulled them out to show them. After a while Habicht caught on what the Major was doing. With a smile he moved over, and started to help the Major. Every necklace that Mary pointed to, and said that she thought it was beautiful, or that it was perfect; Hochstetter would tell the woman to bring it out. Soon there was five different necklaces with earrings out on the counter. When the woman went to ask if the Major was getting all of them; Hochstetter asked to see the rings, and earrings that were in the next case. Mary smiled at this, and started to pick out the ones that she would get herself, but all knew that she wouldn't. The woman behind the counter watched the two men and the young lady. With a smile she noticed that when the young lady picked out a necklace, or another type of jewelry that the Major would ask for it to be pulled out, and to be placed on the counter. Soon there was five necklaces, eight rings, and ten earrings on the counter. All there widen their eyes when the Major told the woman to wrap all of them up; that he would take them all. Mary looked at him with an opened mouth.
"Herr Major that is a lot of jewelry for your niece." Hochstetter smiled at her and told her.
"Well she is a sweet and caring young lady, and I know that she would never get these for herself." Mary smiled wide at this.
"So you are being a loving Onkel, and getting them for her. That's so sweet." Mary said with a large smile. Habicht smiled wide at this. 'Oh yes so sweet… wait until she finds out.' He thought to himself. As the woman was wrapping up the jewelry; all three looked over at the door when it opened. Bischof walked into the store, and up to them. Habicht saw his friends eyes widen some at the sight of the Major.
"The truck is here. They are loading the fabric, and putting the books in there as well." He told them. Habicht smiled and looked over at Mary when she spoke up.
"Oh do you think that they can put this bag in there as well?" She asked.
"Ja they can. I will take this bag out, and hand it to them. I asked the two other guards if they could stay with the truck while we walked around with you." He told her. Mary smiled at him.
"Oh that is wunderbar. Now you can help carry things too." She teased him. Mary giggled lightly when she saw the young man sigh. He went to take the bag, but stopped when Hochstetter asked.
"Would it be alright if I put these bags in the truck as well?" Mary smiled at him and nodded her head.
"Oh yes that is a good idea. We don't want anyone taking them; your niece would be very upset if someone ran off with them." She told him with a smile. Hochstetter picked up the bags off of the counter, and handed them to the two young men. Habicht took some of the bags, and nodded his head at the Major. Bischof saw this, but said nothing. Both young men walked out of the store with bags in hand. Bischof leaned over, and asked his friend why he had nodded his head at the Major. Habicht smiled and told him why. Bischof smiled wide at this, and handed the bags to the guard that was in the truck. Meanwhile Mary and Hochstetter stood outside of the store. Mary looked over at the older man.
"Are you going to go back to work yet?" She asked. The older man raised a brow at this.
"No, I was going to walk around with you some more; if that's alright with you?" He asked. Mary smiled widely at this.
"That would be wunderbar! Are you hungry? I say Julian and Hans is; I know that I am." She asked and stated. Both of the young men walked over to hear the young woman asked the question.
"Ja I am. How about we all go to lunch?" Asked the Major. Mary smiled wide at him.
"I was thinking the same thing." She turned her head over toward the two guard's and asked. "Are you two hungry?" Habicht nodded his head; while Bischof said.
"Ja I am. What would you like to eat?" He asked her. Mary lifted her finger up to her mouth and thought. All three men smiled when she did this. It was at this time Hochstetter noticed the outfit that she had on. 'That is an old Victorian outfit she has on, but I have to say she makes it work.' He thought to himself. He had to admit that this young woman knew how to take old fashion clothing, and could make it fashionable again. He was brought out of his thoughts when Mary spoke.
"I would like to have some Goulash. What Vater fixed awhile back; it was very good, and I would like to have it again." She admitted.
"That does sound good. I know a place where we can go." Mary had looked over toward Hochstetter when he had spoke.
"If you and I are thinking of the same place… then they have a coffee pudding there that's very good." Mary smiled wider when Bischof had said this.
"Really? Oh I would love to try some, and maybe after that I can figure out how to make it." She said with a larger smile.
"If you can figure out how to make it; I will pay you." Mary giggled when Bischof had said this.
"You don't have to pay me to make it… I would make it for you whenever you'd like it." She told him with a smile. Habicht looked over and asked.
"How will you have a bakery if you give all that you make away for free?" Mary smiled and told him.
"Because you are my friends, and I don't want your money; just a smile on your face would be enough payment for me." Both young men smiled at this. Hochstetter also smiled at this selfless young lady.

Klink pushed the stove back in place. He looked over to the sofa to see his love take a seat. Klink had went down in the tunnels to make sure that his love was alright, and was not in pain. When he had saw Hogan talking to Crittendon, and had heard what the English Colonel had said; he was afraid for his love. He had smiled at the sight of his love, and the three other men that had stood in front of him, but mostly at Jackson for standing up for him. He walked over to the sofa and sat down. Still looking at his love; he thought back on what Crittendon had talked about. He had seen the fear on Hogan's face when he had saw the gun being pointed at him.
Meanwhile Hogan sighed deeply, and thought about if Crittendon did come back, and carried out his plan. 'I can't lose him. Will is the only one I could ever love. If that bastard comes back to the camp; I will kill him. I need Will in my life. I need him, Mary needs him, and I know that Newkirk needs him too. How could that bastard think of killing everyone here, and being able to get away with it… I know that I let my anger get the best of me, but I had to let him have it. Crittendon is always trying to boost his ego. I hated it when he would stand there, and tell us that he was the only one to ever survive whatever mess he had gotten him and others into. I have never really bought any of that. He is too much of a coward to really put himself in harms way. He probably sent them to their deaths; while he stayed behind and watched.' He thought to himself. The image of his love laying on the steps of their home dead, and bloody; scared him greatly. Hogan opened his eyes to meet his loves baby blue eyes. Klink was now sitting beside him on the sofa looking at him.
"Are you alright?" Klink asked him. Hogan shook his head at this.
"No I'm not. He was going to kill you. I need you, Mary needs you, Newkirk needs you, and everyone here needs you… I can't lose you." He told him while closing his eyes. The older man saw a tear fall from his loves eye. He moved over and hugged his love.
"That will not happen Robert. I will always be here with you, and I know that you will find away for me to go with you to London. You and I will live in a beautiful home, and maybe with Mary and Newkirk… I say that because I know that you, nor I cannot go without a day without seeing them." He told him then leaned over, and kissed him on the top of his head. Hogan smiled at this.
"I know… I say that we will have to get a big house though." Klink smiled at his loves words.
"Yes we will have to get a very big house." Hogan smiled, and moved to kiss his love on the cheek. Klink moved out of his loves arms, and walked over to the bedroom door. He looked in and saw Newkirk still asleep.
"Is he still asleep?" Hogan asked. Klink nodded his head as he shut the door.
"He must have been in more pain than what he let on. I gave him the same amount of the pain medicine that I did the other night." Said Klink as he walked back to the sofa. He sat down and looked at his watch. Hogan saw this and asked.
"What time is it?"
"It's 3:40…" He snapped his head over as Hogan stood up quickly.
"What? Mary should be home buy now. She left before seven." He said and moved over to the front door. He opened the door and went out onto the porch. The older man smiled and chuckled lightly at his worried young love. He got up and walked out onto the porch.
"Robert, I gave Mary a lot of money, and told her to spend it all; that will take awhile." He told him. Hogan looked over at his love with worried eyes.
"True but it doesn't take that long to spend it. You give me that much, and it would take me three hours to go threw it." The older man narrowed his brows at his love. Hogan looked back at the gate and watched for the car. He didn't look away when his love asked him.
"And what would you buy with that much money?" Klink saw a smile come to his loves lips.
"Oh a little of this, and a little of that." Klink rolled his eyes at this.
"Robert that doesn't tell me anything… No really what would you buy with that much money?" Hogan glanced over.
"I would buy sixteen different gifts for Mary; to make up for not buying her birthday gifts. I would buy you many different gifts too. Then I would buy a dog for myself." He said and looked back at the gate when he saw movement. He frowned when it was two guard's walking in front of it.
"A dog?" Klink asked him.
"Yeah, I have always wanted a dog. I was going to get one before I was told to come here, but I couldn't. Butler wanted me to get a dog that could warn me when I was about to have a seizure…"
"There are dogs that know when someone is going to have a seizure?" His love asked him.
"Yeah there are. I have to say that the dog that they mostly use is a German Shepherd. They can sense it in the human body before it comes on. I was going to get one, but… well I'm here so." He laughed lightly at this. Klink looked away and thought on this; then looked back when his love spoke again. "Where the hell is she? If she's not back in an hour; I will go out and find her." The older man smiled at this, and shook his head.

Mary walked out of the restaurant and waited for Major Hochstetter. Mary was a little upset that the Major had paid for everyone's lunch. Habicht and Bischof had both chuckled when the Major had taken the bill off the table before Mary could. Mary had told Hochstetter that she was going to pay for lunch, but he had told her to safe her money for the next place she wanted to go to. Mary now looked over, and saw both Habicht and Bischof standing near her. She smiled wide at them. 'They will never let me out of their sight.' She thought to herself. A large smile came to her lips; as she now knew how to make the coffee pudding. 'I have to find out when Bischof's birthday is; so that I can make it for him.' She thought to herself. Mary turned around when Hochstetter walked out of the restaurant.
"So Fräulein Mary where are you wanting to go to next?" The Major asked her. Mary smiled at him and said.
"Please you can call me Mary, and I did want to go to the markets next." As she said this the two young guard's walked over to her.
"Which one do you want to go to? There is a fresh market, meat market, and a fish market." Bischof asked; while Habicht knew what the answer of the question was before she told them.
"All of them." Bischof frowned slightly.
"All of them?" He asked her. Mary smiled and nodded her head.
"Yes all of them; which one is close by?" She asked. Mary looked over when Hochstetter spoke next.
"The fresh market is up the road, and so is the meat market and fish market. They are all in the same place, but you have to walk across the street to get to the others." Mary smiled at him.
"Are they in walking distance?" She asked the Major. Hochstetter shook his head.
"No, we will have to drive there. It is about a ten minute drive from here." He told her. Mary smiled and looked at the two young guard's.
"Well come on boys; lets get the car and go… and you might want to see if there will be enough room in the truck for all the food." Habicht sighed and walked toward the car; while Bischof frowned some and walked over to the truck. Mary giggled at the two's reaction. She knew that they didn't want to carry anymore bags. Mary looked over at the Major when he spoke up again.
"Would you mind if I go with you?" He asked with a smile. Mary shook her head and told him.
"No I don't mind. I was actually hoping that you would go with me. That way if you see something that you would want me to make for supper one night; you can pick it out." Mary said with a smile. This caused the Major to smile as well.
Habicht stopped the car in front of the restaurant. Bischof walked over to open the door, but stopped when the Major opened it for Mary. He watched as the Major also got into the car. Bischof raised a brow at this, and got into the car.
The car ride was not quiet at all. Mary started to ask Hochstetter what kind of food did he like. Both of the young guard's glanced at each other, and had worried looks on their face's. Hochstetter told her that he enjoyed Spanish food. When he had said this the Major was surprised when Mary said in almost a loud tone; that she always wanted to try Spanish food. The men in the car chuckled at this. Hochstetter then asked Mary what kind of food did she want to try. Mary smiled wide and told him that she always wanted to try Japanese, Chinese, Indian, and some more French foods. Habicht and Bischof looked at each other with widen eyes; when the young lady told the Major that she would love to learn how to cook many dishes from these places. Hochstetter smiled and told her that hopefully she could find some recipes; so that she could learn how to cook them. Mary smiled and told him that she had read some recipes in the past, and that is why she wanted to make the dishes. Habicht pulled the car up to the fresh market first. Bischof got out and opened the door for Mary; who thanked him. Habicht opened the door for the Major, and he thanked him as well.
Mary walked into the market and smiled wide. She looked over at the two guard's, and they both sighed. Hochstetter noticed this and thought. 'Why are these two young men acting like this?' He thought to himself; then looked over and saw Mary calling over the two young guard's. Both men walked over to her. Mary started to hand them both fresh foods. She handed them nearly the whole basket of apples. Hochstetter stood there with wide eyes as Mary handed twenty apples to Habicht. Bischof quickly grabbed a basket to put the apples in. As soon as Habicht dumped all the apples in the basket; Mary handed him two bunches of banana's. Hochstetter looked over at the owner of the store. The older man was watching the young woman with widen eyes. The older man looked at the Major.
"I think I will need to get some more baskets." He told him with a half smile. Hochstetter smiled at this. He grabbed the deepest basket that he could find, and walked over to the three. When he reached them; Bischof moved to the front of the store with a full basket of apples.
Mary moved over to the cherries and berries. Habicht watched with widen eyes as Mary filled three bags of the cherries, and four bags of blackberries. She handed the bags to him with a smile. He took them and then handed them to his friend; who took them up to the front. When Bischof walked back with a new basket; Mary started to place four bags of blueberries in the basket. Habicht looked over at the Major who was standing there with wide eyes and opened mouth. It was now Hochstetter knew why the young men had sighed heavily before. He shook his head and walked over as the two men walked by him with two new full baskets. Mary smiled at the Major as she place five blood oranges in his basket. After she did this; she then placed a large bag of grapes in the deep basket. The two young guard's who had walked back over; now moved to let the young lady pick up six lemons, and three limes. After Mary handed the lemons and the limes to Bischof; she then handed Habicht two melons. Hochsetter moved over quickly; as Mary picked up four bunches of Mulberries. He looked down and saw that the deep basket that he had grabbed was now full of fruit. The owner walked over and handed him a new deep basket, and took the one in his hands. Mary grabbed a larger bag, and started to fill it with pears. She placed the bag in the basket; then grabbed plums, and filled two bags full of them. Hochstetter raised a brow at this. Mary looked over and saw this.
"I love plums." She said with a giggle.
"I can see that." He chuckled lightly. Mary then grabbed an odd looking fruit. The Major raised a brow at this.
"What is that?" He asked her. Mary turned her head over and told him.
"It's a pomegranate. They are from Spain, and I thought that we could try them together." She told him with a sweet smile. Hochstetter smiled at this.
Bischof and Habicht walked over with a large deep basket each. Mary saw this and giggled; then started to fill them up. This time she placed fifteen star fruits in. All the men looked at her with raised brows. Mary giggled and told them that she thought that it would be a good idea for all of them to try them. The Major had smiled when Mary told him that she had gotten one for Captain Ritter as well. Mary smiled wide as she spotted one of her favorite fruits. She walked over and started to fill another bag with raspberries. She smiled at the men, and told them that she loved raspberries and chocolate together. Once in the basket; she looked over to see some strawberries. While Mary was putting them in a bag; Hochstetter looked over as Bischof sighed deeply.
"You know that she will spend the rest of her money here, and at the other markets too." He spoke to all of the men. All the men nodded their heads at this.
"Oh boys." Mary sang out while moving her finger to tell them to come over to her. Both guard's sighed and walked over. Hochstetter chuckled lightly at this. He walked over as Mary started to hand Habicht the vegetables. She placed some Spanish peppers that were in a bag down in the basket. She reached over, and placed three heads each of cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli into the basket. As Habicht went to take his basket up front; Bischof moved forward. He watched many carrots go into his basket. He sighed and took a closer step; when Mary moved over to the next item. She started to look at the chives, and parsley. Once those were in; Mary reached over and grabbed the rosemary. He smiled as she smelt it. Mary then moved it over for Bischof, and the Major to smell it.
"That smells so good." She told them. Both nodded their heads at this. Mary placed some in with the chives and parsley. She looked over and grabbed some corn, and green onions. The men followed her around the market as she started to hand them different kinds of beans. She placed green, kidney, and lima beans in different bags. After all of the beans were in the basket; the owner took the basket from Hochstetter, and handed him a new one just in time. As soon as he had the new basket in hand; Mary started to place garlic, leeks, and peas within the basket. The last few things she grabbed was lettuce, potato's, tomato's, and some mushrooms. Mary smiled as she looked over the market to see if she had missed anything. She looked over at the owner when he told her.
"I have some mint, nutmeg, and some vanilla if you would like to have some?" He asked her. Mary smiled and nodded her head. The owner walked over, and placed them in a small bag, and put them in the last basket. He looked at the young woman, and told her how much all of the food was. Mary smiled and handed him the money. The man smiled and said.
"I have to say; that I have never had someone come in like this, and buy pretty much all that I have. When will you be back? Maybe I can find some new things for you to buy." Mary smiled at him and told him.
"I will come in every Sunday." The owner looked at the two guard's behind her and saw the looks on their faces. Habicht had lowered his head; while Bischof leaned against the doorframe to the front door, and wined out a 'oh hell'.
The four walked out of the market with different reactions. Mary was smiling wide, and couldn't wait to go to the meat markets next. Habicht and Bischof was tired, and was dreading going to the next two markets. Hochstetter couldn't believe that Mary had spent a thousand marks just buying fruits and vegetables. He looked up when Mary said in a happy voice.
"Come on boys, I can't wait to go in here next." No matter how the three men felt; hearing the happiness in her voice made them all smile wide.

Hogan paced back and forth on the small porch. It was starting to get dark, and Mary was not home yet. Klink had told Hogan that she was alright and not to worry. He had even told him that he was not taking a car, and going out to look for their daughter. Klink walked out onto the porch for the tenth time. He didn't want to show it, but he was starting to get worried as well. He had made dinner, and had helped his son to the table to eat. Newkirk was inside eating the last of his food. Klink looked back and saw that the young man was trying not to show that he too was worried. Looking around the camp; the older man saw that everyone was watching the gate. 'Maybe I should have let Robert go out to look for her.' He thought to himself. He looked up when a car came to the gate. He sighed a sigh of relief when he saw one of the guard's he sent with Mary get out, and open the door for her. Mary got out of the car as did Hochstetter…
"Hochstetter? What is he doing with Mary?" Hogan asked walking off the porch. Hogan walked over to his daughter as did Klink. They both stopped when they saw two trucks pull in behind the car. They looked at each other with a narrowed, and raised brow.
"Papa, Vater!" Mary called out her fathers names. Both men looked over at their daughter. Mary ran up, and hugged them both.
"Mary where have you been?" Hogan asked his daughter in a worried voice. Mary smiled, and noticed the worry in his voice.
"I was out shopping… oh and this is what I have left over." Mary placed the money in Klink's hand.
"Mary, I told you to spend all…" Klink looked down and saw a single penny.
"One cent? You only have one cent left?" He asked her. With a large smile on her lips; Mary nodded her head.
"Yes that is all I have left. After we went to the market; I took all of us out for supper, and paid the check." When Mary said this she looked over at Hochstetter with narrowed eyes, and a smile. Hogan saw the look that his daughter had gave the Major.
"What's that look for?" Hogan asked. Hochstetter turned his head and told the young Colonel.
"I had paid for lunch, and she had beat me to the check at dinner." He said with a real smile.
"That's right; I did." She told him while placing her hands on her hips, and narrowing her eyes in a playful way. Hogan saw this and smiled when Mary started to laugh at this. All looked over when Habicht walked over to the older Colonel.
"Herr Kommandant where do you want us to put everything that Mary has bought at?" He asked him. The two men raised a brow at this. Klink said with still a raised brow.
"Put it all in the house." The young guard raised a brow, and said.
"I don't think that everything will fit in the house Herr Kommandant." He told him the truth. Both of her fathers looked over at her when Mary giggled out.
"Nope everything will not fit." They all looked over when they heard Carter yell out.
"HOLY COW!" Hogan and Klink started to walk over to Carter, Kinch, LeBeau, and Schultz. Both Colonel's walked to both trucks that were parked beside each other. Hogan saw his friends, and Schultz looking into the back of both trucks with opened mouths, and widen eyes.
"Why are all of you looking at the truck like that… oh my god!" Hogan now saw what they did. "What the hell did you buy?!" He asked his daughter as she walked over to him. Klink stood there with widen eyes.
"Well I bought eighty rolls of fabric from the woman who had came here not too long ago. I bought twenty-three different books, and then I went to the markets." She told them. Klink looked over at her.
"Markets… as in plural; as in more than one?" He asked her. Mary smiled wider at this, and nodded her head.
"Yep." She giggled at this. They all looked over at Habicht when he spoke next.
"She went to the fabric store first, and that took three hours. Then she and Bischof went to the book store, and that only took thirty minutes. After that we went to the jewelry store, and ran into Herr Major. Mary only bought two things, but we were in there for two hours. Then we ate lunch, and spent the rest of the day at the fresh market, the meat market, and then the fish market." He told them. Mary's eyes widen at the tone of his voice. 'Is he and Bischof…' She started to think.
"I'm sorry… I'm sorry I didn't mean to make both of you angry. You don't ever have to come with me again. I can go by myself. I didn't mean to upset the both of you." She said this with a worried voice. Both Bischof and Habicht looked at her with widen eyes; then looked at each other. It was Bischof who looked back at her and smiled.
"It's alright. We are not mad at you. We're just tired; just like you are. I did see you yawning on the ride over here. I did actually have fun today… My arms are tired though." He said with a laugh. Mary smiled at him; then looked over at Habicht.
"Hawk are you mad at me?" She asked him. Habicht smiled at her.
"No. I had fun too… But next time lets take both trucks… just in case, and more men to carry things." He said with a large smile. This made Mary smile wider.
"Okay that sounds good, and maybe next time Papa can come with me? It would be like old times; you and me in the stores." Mary turned toward him and smiled.
"Yeah that would be fun, and when Newkirk is feeling better; he can go with you too." Mary smiled at this, and looked over toward her Vater.
"Can he?" She asked him. Klink smiled and nodded his head. Mary smiled wide at this; then added. "Is my gold heart awake?" She asked. Klink nodded his head and watched as she took off running toward the house. The men watched their daughter run to the house to see her love. Hogan looked over when one of the guard's name Bischof asked Hochstetter a question.
"Herr Major where do you want me to put the jewelry you bought at?" Both Colonel's narrowed their eyes at this. Hochstetter smiled, and moved his finger for the young man to follow him. Both Klink and Hogan watched the man walk toward the house. Hogan leaned over to Kinch and asked him to count everything Mary had bought; then he and his love walked to the house. Mary ran into the house and found her love sitting on the sofa. Mary smiled wide, and ran over to him. Newkirk watched as his love lean down quickly to kiss him hard on the lips. After the kiss broke; Newkirk looked at her with widen eyes.
"Damn what a kiss." He told her. Mary smiled and sat down beside him.
"I missed you all day. Are you feeling alright? Are you hungry? Do you want something to drink?" She asked him. Newkirk smiled and told her.
"No, no, no, and I missed you too." He said with a smile. Mary smiled wider, and leaned over to kiss him once again. The kiss broke when they heard someone come into the house. The two looked over and saw the Major and Bischof. Mary narrowed her brows at them.
"Herr Major?" Newkirk looked over as Hogan and Klink walked into the house. They all looked over at Hochstetter when he spoke.
"You forgot something Mary." He told her. Mary stood up and walked over to him.
"What did I forget?" She asked. Hochstetter looked over at Bischof, and nodded his head over to Mary. With a large smile the young man sat all of the jewelry down on the table. Mary watched him, and saw him set each box that had the jewelry inside on the table. After all the boxes were out; Bischof handed Mary the ring box that she had bought her father.
"You might want to give this to…" He nodded his head toward her father. Mary took the box, and walked over to her father. She took him by the hand, and led him over to one of the chairs, and had him sit down. Mary handed the box to him and told him.
"I asked Vater if I could get you a birthday gift. I came here a few weeks after your birthday, and I have never gotten you anything. So happy birthday Papa." As Mary said this Hogan smiled wide, and opened the box. His eyes widen at the sight of the silver signet ring. Hogan looked at the R in old English. He smiled and looked up at his daughter.
"Snow, you didn't have to buy me this… Honey the best gift you could have ever gave me, or will ever give me; is you loving me, and wanting me to be in your life." Mary smiled as tears filled her eyes. Hogan stood up, and hugged her with his good arm. He held her close, and told her that he loved her. Mary said in a low, but happy tone that she loved him back. Hogan pulled away, and smiled down at her. Klink walked over and Hogan showed him the ring. The older man smiled at it.
"That's nice." He said and showed it to Newkirk.
"That is nice, but what did you get for yourself?" He asked his love. Mary moved out of her father's arm and opened the box. The three men's eyes widen at the beautiful earrings.
"Wow. Those are beautiful." Her father told her.
"I know they will go wonderfully with the green dress you made me." Her love smiled at her, but then looked at the other boxes.
"What about these?" He asked her.
"Oh Major Hochstetter got them for his niece." She told them. Klink narrowed his brows at this.
"Hochstetter you don't have a niece." Klink stated. Mary turned to look at the Major when he replied.
"Nope I don't… Well not by blood." He said with a large smile. Mary walked closer to him.
"You said that these were for your…. You meant me." She said in a low angry tone. They watched as the Major nodded his head.
"Yes I did. I asked the woman to show me only the things that you thought were beautiful. I knew that you were not going to by the earrings for yourself; that Habicht had to remind you to spend the money that Klink had gave you… So I bought you what you picked out." He told her, and moved his opened palm toward the table. Bischof moved and started to open all of the boxes, and turned them around for the three men to see. Hogan, Klink, and Newkirk's eyes widen at the jewelry. Hogan looked over at Hochstetter.
"You bought my daughter jewelry?" He asked him. The man nodded his head at this. Hochstetter looked over toward Newkirk and told him.
"I only bought all of this, because she would not have bought it herself. Your sweetheart picked out each piece." Newkirk smiled, and got up slowly. He went to move over to the chair to get a better look at the jewelry. Mary went to help him, but he stopped her with a loving look. She then turned around and told the Major.
"You didn't have to do that. I can't take these… you have to take them back, or give them to your sweetheart." She told him. Hochstetter smiled and told her.
"I don't have a sweetheart. I will wait until the war is over to find a wife; the last thing I need is for her to get hurt from the war… But I bought these for a young lady that I do see as a niece. Mary you deserve them; beside you can pear them up with whatever beautiful dress you make, or your sweetheart makes for you." He told her. Mary was about to say that she didn't want them, but sighed. She then walked over to him and hugged him.
"Danke Herr Major. You didn't have to do that, but I will make it up to you though. I will make a wunderbar Spanish supper for you." She told him. Hochstetter smiled and told her.
"I can hardly wait." They all looked over as Habicht brought in some of the food that was bought.
"These baskets do come in the house right?" He asked moving closer to her.
"Yes Hans; this one, and the four to the side. Oh and can you tell the boys to put the rest of the food in the mess hall please. I will be making everyone supper tomorrow night." She told him. Habicht smiled wide at this.
"And what are you going to make… just asking?" Mary rolled her eyes and giggled.
"Well I will be making an old English supper. I hope everyone likes it. I will be using some of the rabbits, and the ducks I got today." She told him. Habicht smiled wider at this.
"I know that it will be damn good." He told her with a smile, and walked into the kitchen. Mary looked over when she heard her Vater ask her.
"Rabbits? Ducks? What all did you get?" He asked her. Mary smiled at him; then looked over at Bischof when he started to tell them.
"She bought all beef cuts; chuck, brisket, rib, plate, shank short, loin, flank, sirloin, tenderloin, top sirloin, bottom sirloin, and round. She also got lamb cuts; the neck, shoulder, rib, breast, loin sirloin, tenderloin, and leg. She got pork cuts; blade steak, loin, ham, and belly. Then she got about fifteen rabbits, and all the cuts for venison." He told them taking a breath. Hochstetter then told them.
"Plus twenty-five chickens, eighteen ducks, and geese; then she bought thirty quails. As well as three dozen each of quails eggs, chicken eggs, and duck eggs."
"Don't forget the seafood she bought." Said Habicht walking out of the dining room. Mary smiled at this.
"Well I have always wanted to try different types of seafood." Habicht nodded his head.
"Yes but did you have to get forty Salmon, Cod, Seabass, and Tilapia." He named off all the fish. He looked over to the older Colonel, and added. "That's all together. Then the twenty Lobsters, fifteen jars of Caviar, sixty Shrimp and Prawns. Then there is the forty crabs, and thirty scallops." He said with a large smile. Mary smiled at him and nodded her head.
"Yes I did have to get all of that." He rolled his eyes, but still had a smile on his face. Mary looked over to her love when he spoke.
"Snow you were suppose to get things for yourself; not for everyone in camp." He told her. She smiled, and walked over to him.
"I will be eating the food too… so technically I did buy things for myself today." She told him with a large smile. Newkirk rolled his eyes at this; while Mary giggled.
"Well I better drive you back Herr Major." Said Habicht. Hochstetter nodded his head at this.
"Yes danke. I will come and see you tomorrow Mary." He told her. Mary turned around, and walked over to him. She hugged him and thanked him again.
"Thank you again for the jewelry… Onkel." She leaned up some, and kissed him on the cheek. Hochstetter smiled at this.
"You are welcome niece." He said with a smile. Hochstetter nodded his head at the men in the room, and walked out. Hogan followed the Major out, and called his name out.
"Hochstetter." The Major turned around near the small gate in front of the little house. He raised his brow when Hogan walked over to him.
"Thank you for buying that for my daughter." He told him.
"You are welcome. I have to say spending time with her… it was actually fun. She is a wunderbar young lady, but I think that she doesn't need to go back to the market for awhile. The owners need time to restock." He laughed lightly. Hogan smiled at this. He leaned over, and told him in a low voice.
"Tomorrow; you will have to stay the night. I talked to someone that is with the underground. They said that they will meet you and I in the graveyard outside of Hammelburg at midnight tomorrow night… And I will be pointing a gun at you… just letting you know." He told him with a smile. Hochstetter smiled slightly at that.
"Funny, but alright." He went to walk away, but turned back. Hogan raised a brow at this.
"I'm sorry did you say graveyard?" Hogan nodded his head at this, and made a face.
"Yeah… at midnight. So just letting you know I will be a little jumpy." The Major raised a brow at this. Hogan sighed and added. "I hate graveyards… at night. So yeah be prepared for me to be very jumpy." Hochstetter smiled wide at this. Hogan saw this and pointed a finger at him, and added one last thing. "Don't even try to scare me… remember I will be holding you at gun point." Hochstetter frowned at this.
"Damn… I kind of wanted to scare you at least once." He said with a smile, and walked off. Hogan narrowed his eyes at this.

Newkirk had listened to all that his love had done that day. She had told him about Habicht and Bischof had helped her with the things that she had bought. She told him what all she had gotten, and what she would get next Sunday. Newkirk was now laying in bed. Mary had helped him take off the sling, and had changed his bandages. He smiled wide when his love had taken her time cleaning his wounds. Now Mary was laying in bed in her loves arm. Newkirk smiled, and laid his head onto hers. He smiled wider when he heard her sigh deeply. She moved her arm over, and softly placed it over his lower stomach. Mary moved her head, and kissed his bare chest. Newkirk smiled at this, and turned his head and kissed her on the forehead.
"I love you gold heart." She told him the truth.
"I love you too diamond heart." He told her the truth. Mary moved closer to her love and smiled happily.
