Once upon a time, there was a village named Konoha located in the Land of Fire. The people there live normal lives filled with great happiness, among those were two sisters, Rin and Sakura, who lived with their lovely family in their lovely home. The elder sister, 10-year-old Rin, loved to spend time with her friends at school and be around her family, especially her one and only sister, Sakura, her favorite person. The younger sister, 6-years-old Sakura loves spending time with her one and only sister, Rin, her favorite person, more than anyone else. Sakura and Rin would always spend time together after school and on weekends everyday. Everything was perfect, they had their family and they considered their village, Konoha, to be a wonderful place to call home, but soon everything would change forever.
During one supposedly peaceful night in the village, Konoha was attacked by the Uchihas who destroyed the homes of many of its citizens. 10-year-old Rin and 6-year-old Sakura were too terrified to move when it was their turn to have their home attacked. Their mother and father tried to fight back from their front door, trying their hardest not to let any Uchihas into their home.
"Mommy, I'm scared now," said little Rin to her mother, worrying about what was going to happen to her and her family. Rin and Sakura's mother, Shiki looked towards her husband, Hiroki and upon exchanging a melancholic look of resignation, they knew that Uchihas were far stronger than they were and it was only time before they managed to kill all the people in the village they wanted to be killed. So the mother and father pair turned around to look at their two young daughters who were frightened out of their minds.
"Rin, my child. Won't you do me, your poor old father, a favor?" said her father, with a dejected smile.
"Yes, Father," answered little Rin, looking at both her father and her mother whose tears were being wiped away by Sakura.
"Sweetheart, listen to me when I say I want you and your sister, Sakura to go running as far away as you can. My dear, can you do this for us?" Little Rin was shocked with what her mother and father requested: to take Sakura with her and to go as far away they could. But, Rin didn't have it in her to doesn't leave her parents behind and cause her family to be forever separated.
"What?! No! I can't leave you, Tou-chan, Kaa-chan," Rin began to cry as she realized the impact of her future actions and Sakura was confused as to why Rin was crying.
"Tou-chan, Kaa-chan, why is my sister crying," little Sakura asks her parents.
Their mother sighed, "I didn't want you two, especially Sakura to deal with such stress as what we are dealing with right now." Looking at Sakura, Shiki answered, "You see, Sakura, we are in grave danger. And, you and your sister, Rin must leave the village if you want to stay alive." But, even with her mother's answer, 6-year-old Sakura still doesn't understand the gravity of their situation.
"But, why?" Little Sakura asks, the young girl was once again in confusion.
"Oh, Sakura, my child, you will understand sonday," said her mother but, before she could said anything else to her daughter, the Uchihas knocking at their door.
"OPEN THE DOOR RIGHT NOW," a bunch of Uchihas yelled from the outside of their home.
"Rin, take Sakura with you, now! And, please, you must run as fast as you can!" instructed their father, pushing Sakura to Rin.
"Rin, you must promise me that you will be strong enough for both you and Sakura, and, you will have to protect Sakura at all times, always, no matter," told their mother, and once again, tears rolled down from her eyes, staining her beautiful face.
"I will, Kaa-chan, Tou-chan," promised Rin with a pained smile.
Their mother and father kissed both Rin and Sakura's cheeks.
"We love you, Rin and Sakura," said the mother and father both.
"I love you too, Kaa-chan and Tou-chan," said Rin, wiping her eyes.
From the constant banging sounds they heard, the family knew the Uchihas were close enough to breaking down the door entirely.
"Rin, take Sakura with you outside to the backyard. Go, now!" their father yelled.
"Yes, Tou-chan," little Rin obeyed, holding 6-years-old Sakura's hand as the two of them went to the other door.
"Nei-chan, where are we going? Where are Kaa-chan and Tou-chan?" little Sakura asked her elder sister but Rin didn't answer her sister's question, focusing her attention on escaping from their home as fast as they could. For a few seconds, little Rin turned around to look at their home and even at a distance, she can hear the distinct sounds of her mother and father screaming while the Uchihas were killing her parents. Rin turned back, knowing she didn't have the time to cry or feel all the suffering she's gone through. All that she could only focus on was Sakura, her sister, and now, her only family left and because of this, she had to be strong, if not for her sake but for Sakura's sake. As little Rin ran with Sakura behind her, holding her hand, she never looked back at Konoha, the village she once called home as it's now been tarnished by the Uchihas.
Finally, Rin and Sakura were at a reasonable distance far away from Konoha Village, however, little Rin and Sakura got themselves lost in the woods in the process.
"Nei-chan, where are we at?" little Sakura asks, looking around at their surroundings.
"I don't know, Sakura," answered Rin, and this time, she was able to allow herself to cry.
"Why are you crying?"
"Because I feel hopeless for not saving our Kaa-chan and Tou-chan," answered, Rin with a tearstained face. Little Sakura was still confused about why her sister was sad.
"Rin Nei-chan, where are Kaa-chan and Tou-chan?"
"Kaa-chan and Tou-chan are not coming back to us, not anymore."
Little Sakura being to cry upon hearing that their parents will not come back for them. All that little Rin and little Sakura could do for comfort was to hug each other as they cried about the fact that they couldn't save their family and home village.
"Why are you girls crying?" asked an unfamiliar voice, belonging to a person whom Sakura and Rin turned around to see but saw nothing in the woods.
"Who's there?" little Rin yelled.
"Don't be afraid, children," replied the voice as the owner of the voice appeared out of the woods. Rin and Sakura look up. It was a man and ANBU appeared behind him.
"Who are you?" asked little Rin, hiding Sakura behind her as Rin was afraid of the man's demeanor.
"I am Danzo Shimura. Tell me, children, what are your names?"
Little Rin was still too sacred to speak, but after a moment, she began to say, "I am Rin and this is Sakura, my younger sister."
"Well, that answers one question. Now, where is your family?" Danzo asks.
"They have been killed," little Rin replied.
"Killed by who?"
"Our Kaa-chan and Tou-chan were killed by the Uchihas and the our home village, Konoha has been destroyed by them too."
Lord Danzo and the ANBU members were shocked to hear that Uchihas have destroyed the village of Konoha and killed people as a result.
"Those sucmbug Uchihas!" Danzo shouted.
"Lord Danzo, what should we do these girls?" asked one of the ANBU members, "should we kill them?" the Anbu suggested.
Rin and Sakura gasped at the woman's words.
"Kill them? Nonsense," said Lord Danzo.
"What are you saying, Lord Danzo?" the ANBU woman said, gesturing to the sisters.
"What I mean to say is…let's take these girls with us since their family was killed by those scumbag Uchihas."
"But Lord Danzo, those girls don't have fighting skills."
"They will have fighting skills once they've gone through training to be as strong as the ANBU. You all understand what I have intended, don't you?" Danzo yelled at the ANBU members.
"Yes, Lord Danzo!" said the ANBU.
"Rin and Sakura, from this day forward, you two will be training a lot, everyday, to be more precise. Under this training, you will not be weak or die so easily. Soon, you will become the strong enough to be worthy of being a part of the ANBU, but don't disappoint me. Do you two understand me? I hope I have made myself clear with these words, right?" asked Danzo.
Both Rin and Sakura nodded to Lord Danzo.
"Good."
That exact day was the day they lost their friends, family, and their home village but that same day was the day Rin and Sakura's lives would be changed forever by meeting Danzo..
15 years later, Rin is 25 and Sakura is 21. Since the day their parents were killed by the Uchihas, Rin and Sakura have been training nonstop. Thanks to their special training, they became members of the ANBU at a young age and are considered to be some of the strongest in the ANBU. Their only motivation for their training for the past 15 years was the loss of family, friends, and their home village and because of this, Rin and Sakura developed a hatred for the Uchihas for killing their mother and father all those years ago. They wanted revenge and for them, their revenge would be performed by killing the Uchihas, and that is the sole reason why Sakura and Rin have been training everyday during the mornings and night time. They don't like to rest but reluctantly, they were obligated to rest.
"Sakura," said Rin, beckoning her younger sister.
"Yes, Nei-chan?" said Sakura, sitting right beside her older sister.
"Lord Danzo wants us to meet him at his Root Office and the other ANBUS will be there too," said Rin.
"Yes, of course, we'll be there. We will not rest until the Uchihas have paid for what they did to our family and our village!"
"Me too. The Uchihas will pay for the more than 15 years of pain we've gone through," said Rin.
"Yes, we will kill Uchihas, soon," said Sakura.
