Summary: Inspired by chapter 534, Lucy had the chance to rewrite Natsu and didn't take it.
Pairings: Natsu/Lucy, some implied Natsu/Happy/Lucy friendship, Cana/Lucy friendship, and some implied parental Gildarts/Cana.
YouTube Prompt: Fairy Tail tribute to 'Crazy Train' by Ozzy Osbourne.
The fifth, or maybe sixth, celebration party for finally defeating Zeref was just beginning to die down. Majority of the guild was passed out from either exhaustion or drunkenness or both while Lucy was nursing her sore feet as she sprawled out on the floor beside Cana.
They had abandoned the whole dancing and brawling part of the party to sit back and have a proper catch up about what happened to them when they were separated during the war. Cana had just explained about being the only one with Mavis when she first got free, about Gildarts coming to her rescue, about Gildarts scarring her for life with the creepy perverted look on his face, and about how much she had missed, hated, and loved Gildarts in general.
In return Lucy went through all the horrors with Natsu and Gray and the near deaths she had endured. She had just been in the middle explaining exactly what she did when Cana suddenly interrupted her.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Cana waves hr hands wildly (and very drunkenly) "So let me get this straight," she said disbelievingly, "You had the opportunity to rewrite Natsu's very being. Literally rewrite it. His magical DNA or whatever that was floated out and was in the middle of being destroyed and you had to fill in the missing pieces with your pen. You could have put anything in there, You could get rid of those annoying habits or make him sexier or change that stupid hair colour or turn him into the gentleman of your dreams. You had the opportunity to change a man, something all women dream of doing…..and you didn't take it?!"
"Of course not! Why would I do that?!" Lucy asked indignantly. "I like Natsu the way he is. Annoying habits, pink hair, and all. I wouldn't change single thing." A dreamier expression took over her face as she gazed at the sleeping dragon slayer across the room. "Natsu's perfect the way he is."
Cana took one look at the loudly snoring, drooling, half-naked dragon slayer that was also currently kicking Gray in his sleep like a dog and wrinkled her nose in disgust.
"Meh," she said disinterestedly, "each to their own."
At some point Lucy had drifted asleep and when she woke up to find the guild mostly empty, she dragged herself home to find that it had (once again) been invaded by Natsu and Happy. The blue cat was passed out but Natsu was still awake as he helped himself to one of her stories that she was still currently writing.
Lucy gritted her teeth and bit back a retort at that. She had no desire to wake up Happy and deal with his whinging on top of her own exhaustion. "Natsu!" she hissed quietly. "What have I told you about invading my privacy?!"
"But Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucy!" Natsu whined childishly. "I like reading your stuff. It's the best!" Lucy flushed at that and was pretty much instantly flattered into forgiving the invasion of privacy. She opened her mouth regardless, determined to at least make a token argument (or Natsu will think its okay to do it again) when Natsu suddenly spoke up again "I hope you don't mind," Natsu smiled sweetly, "but I tidied up a little bit."
She did notice that her apartment was rather spotless to the point that it was sparkling….
Okay! Okay! She'll confess!
She might have lied to Cana just an incy bit. She may or may not have altered one or two little things….
But it was just a teeny, tiny, tweak!
Can you blame her?! You've seen his house! It's an actual pig sty! There was no way she was going to be able to live with that mess for all eternity.
There was a lot worse things she could have done other than make him tidier.
