To SuperSaiyanFever: Upa's as strong as Goku when he fought Vegeta. However, his Battle Power is between 8,000 (before powering up) and near 10,000 (as his maximum power).

To Ushindi:

1. I love Ultra Ego. It's a cool design, the mechanics of the technique are awesome, it's not exclusive to Saiyans, and dark purple is my favorite color!

2. I like Mortal Kombat 9, Super Smash Brothers series, Tekken 4, Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Dragon Ball Fighterz, Dragon Ball Budokai, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4.

Last time on Dragon Ball Z: PRIMAL, Gohan and his fellow combatants gathered in the fighter's box after winning the first round. During this time, he was not only reunited with long-lost acquaintances, Pigero and Lao Lime, but he ended up meeting an old friend of his father's during his original journey to find the mystical Dragon Balls. Meanwhile, the world's greatest assassin, Tao Pai Pai, entered the VIP Room under the alias of Kurozuru, posing as a bodyguard. But does he have a bigger role to play in Dr. Yanagi's master plan? Or we say, Dr. Wheelo? And will the Dragon Team notice before it's too late? How will the end of the tournament play out by the end of it? What's up next for our heroes? Their journey to make their way to the top in the tournament continues, now!

VIP Tower, Battle Island II, Age 774

Dr. Yanagi, Cocoa, Mr. Satan, the Cash family, and Kurozuru were all spectating the upcoming match.

And so far, Cocoa, Monty, the Cash couple, and Mr. Satan all thought that the matches were hot picks.

Videl Satan vs. Upa of the Karinga

Sharpner Crayon vs. Yurin

Son Gohan vs. Reiken no Pigero

Barry Khan Yanagi vs. Lao Lime

"Isn't this peculiar?" X. S. Cash asked. "Most of the combatants happen to be either in their adolescence or shy away from early adulthood."

"I noticed that too, dear," Lotta commented with a nod.

"It seems that we have underestimated the potential of the next generation." X.S. Cash contemplated. "What do you think of these matchups, Mr. Satan?"

The man began to look at the faces of the top eight fighters, he was still in the middle of a mental back and forth.

'W-What's gonna happen to me now? I know that the boy's not gonna want to let me lose, but he's not going to throw the match. M-Maybe he will be in the semi-finals! Yeah! The native and the guy with the scarred guy don't seem that tough and that Barry Khan fellow looks reasonable.' Hercule tried to rationalize. 'Hmph! I could pay them to throw the match if they get close enough. And the green-haired girl too! That is if any of the other kids don't beat them… B-But my daughter might want to hurt me.'

"...Mr. Satan? Mr. Satan!" Cash called to him, causing the afro-haired man to focus on the people around him.

"Huh? Oh, right. What was the question, again," Mr. Satan asked, wiping off the sweat from his forehead.

"She was asking about your opinion about the matchups." Dr. Yanagi plainly. "What's your take?"

Hercule glanced at the screen that showed the matchups as he cleared his throat to regain some of his bravado and eccentric energy.

"They're decent. Most of the kids are gonna be in uphill matches. Although, that native guy is clearly the underdog with who he's going to be up against. My daughter's gonna wipe the floor with him before he knows it! He better go and throws the towel while he still has the chance! BWAHAHAHAHA!"

Kurozuru, looking at the face of adult Upa, merely stated, "I wouldn't take that man so lightly."

Everybody turned to the bodyguard as Monty asked, "Why is that, Mr. Kurozuru?"

"That man is one of the members of an indigenous tribe that lives below the legendary Tower of Korrin. Most likely it's chief. I had a battle with him at one point and while I bested him, the chief was undeniably strong."

"W-Was the chief the person who hurt you?" Cocoa bravely questioned, to which the hidden assassin shook his head.

"No, dear. He did not." Tao answered, under the codename Kurozuru. " I have this hunch that the chief's son is much stronger than the one who injured me years ago."

Cocoa and Monty's eyes widened in shock while Hercule's face visibly went pale along with the rest of the Cash family.

Kurozuru merely chuckled as he mused, "Alas, that shouldn't prove to be too daunting for the daughter of the world's savior."

The others aside from Dr. Yanagi and Cocoa nodded, allowing Monty to express his excitement.

"Yeah! Videl's gonna beat them all and win!" The oblivious boy gushed.

The parents of the boy smiled. They were happy that the child could enjoy his gift.

Dr. Yanagi kept his eyes glued to the screen as he anticipated the first match.

Battle Zone I - Mountain Range

At the top of the mountain, a ground area was being monitored by a camera for the audience in the second Battle Island to view. This aera held the metallic building which had an elevator for the winner of the first match to enter.

And in the middle of this area were two fighters who were beginning their fight.

"HAH!"

Videl dashed forward to throw a punch at Upa. The Karinga warrior shifted to the right, dodging at the last moment.

Facing her older and taller opponent, the pig tailed girl began throwing a barrage of punches and flurry of kicks. Surprisingly to Videl, Upa weaved around Videl's assault so easily while moving back.

When he dodged Videl's roundhouse, Upa jumped over the girl's head. The warrior dispelled his two energy tomahawks and formed a white bow, catching him completely off guard. With it, Upa fired five arrows of ki at Videl in quick succession.

'Shit! Gotta move!' The girl cursed, prompting her to roll out of the way.

The ground that the ki arrows hit were damaged as the small blasts left a few small craters from the attacks.

Videl looked at this for a few seconds and whispered, "What the hell!? How did he do that!?"

Calling to the warrior, Videl said, "Hey! That was a neat trick. I didn't know that ki can be used in a way like what you just did."

When Upa landed, the Karinga warrior slid back into his solid horse stance.

"The ways of my people hold many secrets. Even more so applies to the shaman who has shown me how to control catori." Upa explained sagely.

"Good to know, but don't take me so lightly!"

Videl brought her right palm out and fired a volley of ten ki blasts of her own.

Taking his left hand, Upa cloaked it with energy and condensed it into the shape of a machete blade. With it, the warrior cut through the blasts of energy that Videl had fired. Upa took this time to bridge the gap between himself and his opponent by dashing forward with one step to propel him, which in turn, spawned a few after images in the process.

This was when Upa had begun to swipe at Videl, forcing the girl to play on the defensive through evading maneuvering as she dodged vertical swings, horizontal swings, diagonal swings, and jabbing thrusts of Upa's ki blade. Strands of hair were cut as a result. Videl hopped back, then backflipped to get away from the blade. And despite her constant dodging, there were clear signs of tears and slash marks on her gi, cheek, and arms.

Deactivating the ki blade, Upa stood in front of Videl, who was catching her breath as she stared at the idle man.

'...Okay! I'll admit, I've clearly underestimated this guy. Lesson learned.' Videl thought to herself, putting her game face on. 'This Upa guy is clearly tough and is much faster than he looks. If I'm going to get to the next round, I'll have to step it up!'

"Why have you stopped?" Upa questioned, cocking his eyebrow. "Have you decided to yield?"

Videl scowled at the question, scoffing, "Not in your life, pal! I'm just deciding to take this more seriously."

Upa nodded at the girl respectfully, taking a grappler stance.

"If that is what you wish, then I will give you the same courtesy." Upa agreed.

With that, the two dashed to each other in a mighty clash.

VIP Tower, Battle Island II, Age 774

"Cool!" Monty gushed. "Mama! Papa! Did you see that? Did you? Videl can shoot lights from her hands!"

The Cash couple, while happy that their son was getting excited, currently tried to process this new information.

"A-Apparently she can!" Lotta smiled weakly at her son.

X.S. Cash then turned from the screen to Hercule, whispering, "Did you know she could do that?"

"I, uh, knew she was capable. But not this capable…" Mr. Satan swallowed, before clearing. "Of course, she gets all of her brute strength from my genes! She is a Satan after all!"

"Her basic ki control is quite impressive," Tao, under the alias Kurozuru, commented. "For an amateur. But it's obvious that the indigenous warrior has the upper hand. No doubt from his experience and mysterious methods of handling ki. He could very well crush Videl if she doesn't change her strategy soon."

Cocoa and the Cash family gasped at this.

"Hey! Don't you dare count my baby girl out!" Hercule barked at Tao. "She's been taking down fully grown men since she was a kid! Hell, she fights armed criminals while going to school and has only gotten tougher since!"

"Yeah!" Monty added. "Videl's gonna beat that feather guy and win fair and square. Right, Mr. Satan?"

"You got that right, sport!" Hercule grinned before laughing boastfully with pride.

"Fairness, you say?" Dr. Yanagi spoke, causing everybody to look at him. "Mr. Satan, do you believe in the idea of fairness?"

"Well, of course, I do!" Hercule answered. "When there's a match, I take on my opponent with everything that I've got. But that's only if they are at their one hundred percent best! No tricks needed!"

"You don't say? But weren't you the one who talked about crushing the competition during the 24th Tenkaichi Būdokai?" Dr. Yanagi questioned, taking Mr. Satan by surprise.

Kurozuru added, "Yes, it's coming back to me now. You even brought down that large fellow in the finals with one blow to the cranium. He didn't even get the chance to really fight."

"U-Uh…" Mr. Satan stuttered.

'Shit, they're talking about Spopovich!'

"He did start that campaign…" Lotta recalled, with her husband nodding.

Turning to X.S. Cash, Dr. Yanagi asked, "Xavier, did you not have to bring down competitors during the early years of your company? Was it not required to stay pragmatic and business-oriented to remove any and all liabilities that could prove to be problematic to Heatap's growth?"

Rubbing the back of his neck, Cash nodded to his son and Dr. Yanagi sheepishly.

"...Yes, that is true." X.S. Cash admitted.

"Monty, was it?" Dr. Yanagi questioned, facing the child as he kneeled to the boy.

"Yes, sir?"

"While fairness is a great idea, it is simply that. An idea, a concept. One can only go far as to be fair and just before true life starts. However, the real world will teach you otherwise." Dr. Yanagi stated while kneeling down.

"What do you mean, mister?" Monty inquired.

Dr. Yanagi explained, "From my experience, at least, you not only need to be strong-willed but you are required to have the strength to take what you want. That is if you are willing to do whatever it's necessary to take it. After all, power commands respect."

Cocoa saw what her father saw and found herself shaking her head.

While the Cash couple remained silent, Hercule narrowed his eyes at Yanagi's advice.

The doctor smirked at the champion.

"I'm sure the slayer of Cell would understand more than anybody here, right?"

Mr. Satan growled but nodded stiffly.

"...Sure do, Doc."

Stadium, Battle Island II, Age 774

Chattering and gasps of awe resounded among the audience section of the stadium. Most of the crowd's eyes were bulging out of their socks as they bore witness to a random indigenous man summoning energy along with the daughter of the champ. And now, they were moving at speeds that were normally invisible to the human eye. Fortunately, Dr. Yanagi's technology allowed the cameras (and the audience) to follow the action as accurately as it possibly can.

"A-Am I seeing things right?" A random woman asked herself.

"They're m-moving so fast!" An old man stuttered.

A middle-aged lady pointed out, "Even the cameras are having trouble keeping up!"

"Forget about speed, look at how they are throwing light from their hands! It's like something out of a movie or an animation!" Another man cried out.

"This has to be a trick… This can't be humanly possible." One other random woman denied.

One man next to that woman stated, "Lady if Mr. Satan just told us that Cell and those other fighters' moves were real and his own kid is doing them here. How can that be fake?"

The woman responded, shaking her head, "I-I don't know! Special effects!"

"This isn't a movie theater, though. This fight is recorded all in real-time! And even if Willow Industries has the power to do so, it was mandated by the staff that none of the live footage recorded here to be edited by any means just like the actual Tenkaichi Būdokai. Besides, only the location is simulated. Face it, this is as real as it gets." One other younger girl said.

Over by the Dragon Team, the children, Erasa. and Chi-Chi were all voicing their full support in Videl's fight in full display.

"That's it, Videl! Keep on pushing!" Chi-Chi cheered with her fans.

"Fight on, girl!" Erasa added.

"Go, Big Sis/Videl!" Whooped Goten, Trunks, and Marron.

Meanwhile, the other adults were having their own little conversation on the side.

"Man, I still can't believe that Upa, of all people, has signed up for this thing!" Krillin grinned. "And he's made it to the second round! This is just nuts!"

"Yeah, and he's holding his own against Gohan's student," Tien added. "It's impressive, I'll give him that."

"Indeed. However, neither of them has moved past Yamcha's level of power. And Yamcha, at his strongest, could destroy the whole planet." Mūten Roshi pointed out. "They will in time if they were to undergo the right kind of intense training."

Lazuli then asked her husband casually, "Isn't that the name of the kid that you've crushed on before learning he was a boy?"

Krillin paled, then shivered at the distant memory. Bulma, Tien, Roshi, and Chi-Chi gazed at him funny while Vegeta found himself smirking out of mild amusement.

Turning to his blonde wife, Krillin hushed her with urgency, saying, "Lazuli, not in front of the others!"

"I'm just excited to see that there are new fighters out there that are like you guys. And having more women for a little bit of female representation doesn't hurt." Bulma said, with Chi-Chi and Roshi nodding in agreement for completely different reasons.

She set her sights on Vegeta, then asked him for his opinion about the fight.

"Videl's doing pretty good out there, so far. It looks like Gohan-kun's training is paying off for her." Bulma smiled. "What do you think, 'Geta?"

Never losing his default frown, the Prince of All Saiyans gazed at the screen while appearing to be unimpressed.

"...I've seen better fights between the brat and Kakarot's second spawn," Vegeta answered dryly.

"Vegeta!" The blue-haired girl gritted, glaring at her husband.

"Don't you start, woman!" Vegeta grunted. "You sought my thoughts, and I gave them to you."

"No, you're being a first-class jerk!" Bulma shot back. "Stop dismissing the girl's work and give a fair opinion!"

"...Fine!" Vegeta relented, albeit reluctantly. "Gohan's mate has improved over these past months. That's undeniable. The other human, despite that, appears to be just as strong, if not, more powerful and resilient than she is. And given the distinctly large age gap, it's safe to say that the man has more experience than the girl. To underestimate a foe like that could mean her elimination but luckily, she had seemed to curb that pride of hers."

Bulma blinked for a moment in mild astonishment, taken aback at the tactical side of her husband.

"...wow, that was half brilliant analysis. I didn't think I'd get a response like that out of you." Bulma admitted. "And also, Gohan-kun's mate?"

Vegeta smirked, "Oh? Are you not aware, dear wife of mine? The bonding process has begun. And the brat and his little student are at the center of it."

"Really? Ooo~! That's great news! Wait until I tell Chi–" Bulma gushed, only for the Prince the shut her plans down.

Vegeta quietly leans to his wife with a serious gaze and says, "You will do no such thing, do you hear me?"

"What? Why not!? This is what Chi-Chi and I were waiting for!" Bulma questioned, not amused by Vegeta's sudden "command". "And why are you hush-hush all of a sudden?"

"Listen to me for once, Bulma. That boy is at a crucial moment in his life. He is unknowingly courting a potential mate. Under normal circumstances, the boy would have already courted the human girl. That is if he had been born a full-blooded Saiyan. But he's not, he has the fickle heart of a human because he's a halfling. As it stands, Gohan's gradually taking steps forward to secure the girl as his lifelong mate given his human self-consciousness and bleeding heart. For that reason, is why I believe the process is taking much longer than that of a normal Saiyan bonding ritual. And the last thing that this emotionally driven hybrid Saiyan adolescent need is for two grown women to interfere in his love life. Especially if one of those women happens to be his mother."

"But–"

"And before you say anything, think for a moment. I am aware of you and the harpy's ambitions to make sure that the boy is happy and has a bloodline of his own. Let me let you in on a little secret about the brat." Vegeta said, causing the head of Capsule Corp to nod in anticipation.

"What would really make that brat happy is if you two mind your own business and let him figure out his own life problems first. He'll ask for your help when he's ready. And that is if he needs it. We found peace in each other and Kakarot somehow ended up tied together with that banshee of a woman." Vegeta reasoned bluntly. "Gohan may be young, but he's still a man. Let him come to his own conclusions and be patient. And who knows, the boy just may end up surprising you."

Taking into her husband's words for a moment, Bulma reluctantly complied with her husband while going back to the main subject.

"Do you think that Videl still has a chance at winning this?" Asked Bulma.

Snorting like a jerk, Vegeta retorted, "If this is her full power, then she's fucked. The girl would have to either outsmart the man to bring him down or pull a page out of the clown's book. He'll, she might have to do both."

Vegeta's snark aside, Bulma faced the screen while she bit her lip.

'Come on Videl…'

Battle Zone I- Mountain Range

Blurs of two figures jumped and clashed a few times throughout the confrontation. Striking at each other. These clashes would scatter the fallen leaves from trees nearby, blowing them away at the force of each clash. During each collision, the fighters would be visible for everybody to see who struck a blow and who was injured.

One clash showed Upa kneeling Videl in the mid section. Another showed Videl landing a strong front kick to Upa's chin. And then, there was another strike where both fighters would deliver an exchange of hard-right crosses to their respective cheeks.

The two spun horizontally but recovered at the same time as they slid back onto the ground.

'Shit! He's matching me blow for blow and anticipating my movements! I'd better try a different approach.' Videl thought to herself.

"Your power is waning, child," Upa called out to Videl. "Your will is admirable… but unnecessary at this point. There's still time to concede."

"And I keep telling you that I'm not giving up anytime soon!" Videl barked back. "I'll find a way to beat you!"

Upa sighed, saying "You best try it while you can. I intend to finish this myself soon."

Taking her stance, Videl charged at the Karinga warrior again. Once again, Upa expected this and stood his ground while keeping his guard up. When Upa went for a jab to Videl's solar plexus. However, Upa's fist ultimately touches nothing.

Why is that? Because Videl seemingly passed through Upa before disappearing altogether.

"What the–!?" Upa gasped as he turned around.

Upa's eyes widened when he realized that he was surrounded by twelve other Afterimages of Videl.

"What kind of skill is this? Illusions?" Upa questioned, looking around to see the flicking Afterimages smirking.

"I see that you're impressed." Videl grinned. "Hope you're feeling lucky! I'm taking this win!"

Upa's dark eyes gazed at the flickering Afterimages. Crossing his arms together, his catori manifested on his hands as it created a construct of bear claws.

Swinging his arms outwards, the claws sent powerful slashing waves that effectively dispelled all of the Afterimages of Videl…

…Only to find Videl, not on the ground.

"...If she's not here, then that means that she's–"

"–UP HERE!"

The dark-skinned fighter looked up, only to see Videl, who had jumped twenty feet in the air. Taking a page out of Tenshinhan, Videl placed her hands in front of her face whole her palms were facing it, she called out her next technique.

"SOLAR FLARE!"

Upa was suddenly plagued with a blinding flash of ki, hurting his vision for the time being. Crying out in surprise and pain, he shut his eyes in order to recover from the attention.

'Now's my chance!'

Videl fell back down to the solid ground while performing a backward somersault, landing perfectly. From there, she promptly dashed up close and began her combo of ki-augmented punches, uppercuts, and kicks to Upa's upper body and face.

While being pelted by Videl's hands and feet, Upa visualized a mighty spirit of a large bird of prey striking at him relentlessly with its beak and talons. While the 'bird' brought its leg down, so too did Videl while screaming "Eagle Kick", sending him to a boulder nearby.

This was her Falcon Rush Eagle Kick chain.

Upa got up, wiping off the running blood from his forehead and mouth.

The Karinga warrior took a few moments to peer at his right hand which was covered in crimson with his newly recovered vision.

'...That strategy was clever. This girl's cunning mind makes her more resourceful than I thought. She is not to be underestimated.'

"Hey, you! Focus!" Videl shouted as she dashed forward, with a fist wound up for true ki augmented Megaton Punch.

The attack did make contact. However, not in the way that Videl anticipated, for Upa caught her punch in the palm of his left hand. The power of this attack was so great, that it formed a large crater below them.

Videl gasped, "What?"

Videl tried to reel her fist back, to no avail.

"Hey! What gives!? Let me go, you bastard!" Videl gritted, staring into the eyes of the calm Karinga warrior.

"I must commend you for your tenacious effort, Noble Bird. But it does not appear to be enough to defeat me…" Upa calmly declared, allowing his catori to manifest as white lightning within appeared in his eyes.

The smallest sensation of electrical energy had not gone unnoticed by the daughter of Hercule, who promptly gazed at the warrior's eyes in disbelief.

"Is that lightning!?" Videl screamed in awe and the slightest hint of fear. "How can you have lightning powers!?"

"The spirit reflects the true nature of man. Because the drums of life inside me beat thunder, my catori's essence blessed me with its sparking might." Upa explained before sending a small discharge of electricity through Videl's body that was still strong enough to hurt her.

"AHHH!" Videl cried, letting out an unsettling and agonizing high-pitched scream.

Five seconds later, Upa stopped mildly electrocuting her. He then sent her upwards with an uppercut, followed her by jumping, and kneed her back, making Videl cough up blood. Then finally, he brought his shoulder to her back in a dash, making sure he pressed her body to the ground face-first in a mighty crash.

Upa emerged from the rubble after a minute. He didn't appear to be too damaged. There were some cuts on his body, dried up blood with dirt on some of his bruises. Nothing too critical.

Videl, while still alive, was lying in the small crater. Barely moving, she was still breathing.

VIP Tower, Battle Island II, Age 774

"VIDEL, NO!" Hercule bellowed, horrified at his daughter's beaten figure on the screen.

Monty held his mother tightly, terrified at the state one of his heroes was in. Lotta and Xavier remained silent, but just as visibly shook at how brutal Upa's aerial assault proved to be.

Cocoa's heart froze in utter fear. Never had she seen something so …graphic. It was still registering in her mind. She can only hope that the girl was alive.

The disguised Tao Pai Pai or "Kurozuru" merely shook his head in disappointment and a pinch of pity.

"Poor delusional child." He muttered to himself. "She never stood a chance."

Dr. Yanagi kept his impassive expression throughout the ordeal. He peered at the girl's prone form, critically analyzing her being.

While it may seem like there was a fatality, James knew better. He knew Videl. And she wasn't easy to bring down. There was too much fight in her to go out like this.

'That shouldn't be enough to beat you. You're stronger than this. Get up, Videl.'

Stadium, Battle Island II, Age 774

Most of the Dragon Team and the rest of the audience's cheerful momentum halted at the crater that Videl was left in.

Chi-Chi, Erasa, and Bulma covered their mouths in utter terror. Marron buried her face into Lazuli's chest, whining out of fear that the worst had happened to the teenage crime fighter while her mother's eyes hardened in silence. Goten stammered with dread as tears threatened to fall from his eyes.

"No…B-big Sis…" He uttered.

Trunks, mentally stronger than the two boys, kept quiet but gripped his pants out of anger.

'That makeup-wearing girly-haired jerk!' Trunk growled in his thoughts.

Akira, the usual tournament announcer, was sitting nearby as he shook his head out of pity.

'The way that this Upa character used his energy to electrocute Mr. Satan's daughter reminds me of Jackie Chun's Thunder Shock Suprise attack. It's a shame that she didn't anticipate that or she would have won.'

Krillin gritted his teeth out of rare anger.

"Upa, what the hell!?" Krillin swore through his teeth. "You didn't have to do all of that! Knocking her out would have been enough! What's wrong with you!?"

"Not that I agree with the extreme retaliation, but he did give her a fair warning." Tien reasoned with his arms crossed. "Still, I wasn't expecting anything like that. His assault was most impressive and deadly."

Krillin retorted, "He nearly killed that girl, Tien! That shouldn't be something to compliment!"

"Krillin," Master Roshi said, grabbing the former monk's attention. "I understand where you are coming from. Your concern and anger stem from your newly found fatherhood. I feel the paternal side of you seeming through the cracks. But there was once a time when you and Goku were young boys tossed around the arena fighting adults twice your age. This is no different. "

"Master, what are you saying?"

Roshi looked up at the screen above, saying, "Under normal circumstances, it shouldn't be allowed for children to experience a brutal punishment. But much like Goku and yourself, Videl had accepted the lifestyle as a martial artist, and that included the physical struggles that come with such a life. I believe that Upa saw this in Videl and decided to honor that in the fight. It is important to remember and respect this decision, no matter what happens."

"B-But, Master!" Krillin tried to argue, only for Tenshinhan to grasp the shortage man's shoulder with a comforting hand.

"He's right, Krillin." Tien nodded. "Videl's a warrior like us, now. We have to acknowledge that this is what she wanted. A real fight."

Krillin reluctantly bit his tongue, praying to Dende that she wasn't too badly damaged.

'Well said, Old Man, Triclops.' Vegeta thought to himself while gazing at the screen himself. 'But is that girl's pride strong enough to bounce back from that?'

Battle Zone I- Mountain Range

The damaged Upa walked over to the unmoving and injured Videl. While the Karinga warrior meant to give the young girl a challenging fight, he didn't intend to harm her in the way that he did.

Crouching down, he waved his hand to detect her life energy. His concerned expression shifted into that of a relieved one.

'Thank goodness, she's still alive.' The warrior thought gratefully.

He stood triumphantly, stating, "You fought with valor unlike any other I've faced for someone so young. You've earned my respect for that. But you're not ready to fight the son of Goku. Not yet. However, you've definitely made your mark here as a warrior."

Upa slowly turned around and walked towards the building that had the elevator to proceed to the quarter-finals.

The announcer then said through the simulation, "It looks like Videl Satan is down. Per tournament standard rules, we will be counting up to ten. If she doesn't get up, Upa will be able to proceed to the next round!"

"One!"

"Two!"

"Three!"

"Four!"

"Five!"

"Si-"

Just as Upa was halfway towards the building, a haggard, yet feminine voice called to him.

"H-Hold it right there, bub!"

Upa quickly whipped his head around to see Videl, who had risen up from the crater, struggling to stay stable. Her bloodied white gi revealed her black chest bindings that were worn underneath. Her pant legs were torn a bit as well. Her hair had caught the dirt and was covered in blood and sweat.

"I-I'm not through, yet!" Videl panted, taking a horse stance. "Not by a l-long shot!"

"Incredible! After the punishment that her opponent dealt to her, Videl has stood back up to fight!" The announced declared through the simulated area.

Upa peered into his opponent's determined eyes, seeing the burning desire to overcome her obstacle etched into her very soul. It was inspiring, much like how Goku inspired him to do the same.

He smiled, telling Videl, "Remarkable. You're absolutely remarkable, Miss Satan. I am honored to have you as an opponent."

Videl wiped the blood from her mouth as she panted, "Upa was it? Y-You almost had me there… I'll give you that. You're probably the toughest bastard outside of Wonderboy that I've ever fought. That shock hurt like hell."

"That's certainly a way of putting it," Upa chuckled.

"Yeah. I won't lie to you, I've enjoyed this fight. It was a good time. It's a shame that this has to end soon." Videl implied, with her trademark smirk appearing on her face. "Cause you're going to be ending up in a crater just like the one I was in."

"Oh? And what makes you so certain that you're going to be walking away in victory? You're barely able to stand through willpower alone, and you have just enough energy to stay conscious." Upa asked, creating two tomahawks with his energy.

Videl declared, "Simple, I'll beat you by saying one word."

"And what's that?" Upa replied out of curiosity.

"Kaiōken."

"Kaiōwha-ARGH!"

Upa's confusion was cut short as a strong fist smashed into his face. How? Because Videl covered in a familiar fiery red aura rocketed toward Upa and sped so fast, he couldn't register and intercept the attack. Being sent back, Upa was flung back in mid-air. Videl followed suit in the burning aura of the Kaiōken technique surrounding her body as she flew below him. He could see a spirit of a burning vermillion-colored bird soaring, matching the girl's movement. Videl threw a flying kick square in Upa's chest, causing the man to gasp in pain with blood and saliva escaping from his mouth. The force of the kick sent Upa flying upwards. Taking a great leap, Videl's power shattered the ground she once stood on as she propelled herself into the air past Upa's ascending body. Seeing that his back was exposed as he was prone in mid-air, she brought her leg down on his back with one last flying kick.

This Hawk Arrow Attack that Videl chained together brought down Upa, sending him to the ground in a crater much like Videl fell in earlier.

And after ten seconds were counted by the announcer, the announcer declared, "Upa is unable to continue! Videl advances to the next round!"

To Be Continued…

With the aid of the x2 Kaiōken multiplier, Videl was successfully able to secure her placement in the tournament. But with more obstacles for our heroes to face and a foreboding evil on the horizon, one cannot be too certain of the upcoming future. Be on the lookout for more adventures next Dragon Ball Z: PRIMAL!

Author's Note: Hey guys! Your boy's back with another chapter.

Oh, real quick! Piccolo is still present, he's standing on top of the stadium while watching the screen.

As for Upa, his abilities aren't just based on Night Wolf from Mortal Kombat, but I pulled bits and pieces from T. Hawk from Street Fighter and (Chief) Thunder from Killer Instinct. I just never came up with a language from the Karinga to avoid any potential racial contentions. Mind you, I'm part Choctaw and Blackfoot on each of my parents' sides.

The reason why Upa can see animals in people like Videl and Gohan is that the animals are a form of a representation of certain strong qualities of the characters. That and it is shown based on how they fight. This is also represented by the nature in which how each individual's ki act. You guys can compare the elemental nature of ki to the nature of chakra in Naruto or how Hado acts in Street Fighter. However, it's not as common as Naruto's chakra natures.

In terms of skills, Upa has Videl beat based on experience and variety in his techniques. But when it comes to raw power, a single use of the Kaiōken will have Videl winning more times than not.

Tell me, what do you think of this fight? Do you want to see more Upa in the future? Which fight are you guys excited about the most? What do you like about this saga so far? What do you dislike? What are the saga's strengths and weaknesses? What characters should be used more? Who are your favorite characters to see? Do you have any ideas? Let me know what are your thoughts by reviewing the chapter.

I'll talk to you guys later!
