Jellal laid there dejectedly on his back.
His leg was firmly wrapped up in a cast with firm (if also terrifyingly bordering upon threatening) orders from Porlyusica to keep his weight off on it. Jellal had broken it on a job two days ago and unfortunately it coincided with Wendy being away on her own job which meant he had to wait before he can get it magically cured.
It had been a long, boring, day as Jellal laid in bed with the curtains firmly drawn to a shut so he could sleep which he couldn't do. Sleep that is. He had rested so much that he was literally becoming restless with boredom.
As he wallowed in his own misery the bedroom door suddenly slammed open.
Jellal was temporarily blinded by the light in the hallway but as soon as his eyes adjusted he found himself glad he was lying down. The sight before him would have made his knees buckle if he had been standing.
Erza, in all her ravishing glory, was standing before him dressed in the tiniest, sexiest, little white nurse dress that almost burst open at the bust. Her gorgeous scarlet hair cascaded past her shoulders and contrasted perfectly to the little white hat perched on the top of her head.
Jellal was on the verge of suffering from a nosebleed.
"Never fear patient!" Erza said boldly. "Nurse Erza is here to take care of you!"
Jellal clutched his nose as he felt a slight trickle of blood leak out.
"Erza!" he moaned pathetically, "I don't think it's wise if we did anything sexual while my leg is broken."
Because knowing his luck he would very likely break his other leg.
Erza stared down at him disdainfully. "Men!" she scoffed. "I swear all of your minds live in the gutter." Jellal smiled sheepishly at that. He couldn't deny it. "I meant that I am going to take care of you medically."
"….you don't have medical training," Jellal pointed out mildly.
Though inwardly he was utterly terrified.
Erza was the most loving and caring person he knew but she was often so enthusiastic in her caring that she would forget her strength.
"How hard can it be?" Erza said dismissively. Which did not instil any confidence in Jellal whatsoever. "I am determined to have you walking again within the day."
Jellal had a really bad feeling about this.
"Can't I just go back to sleep please?!" he asked desperately.
"Jellal!" Erza said sternly. "I am your partner in life. It is my duty and honour to take care of you in your time of need. I should be by your side tending to your every need as I wipe your forehead with a cool cloth and feed you chicken soup."
"I have a broken leg," Jellal pointed out dryly, "not the flu."
"Just let me take your temperature at least!" Erza snapped. "I'm asking to take care of you not torture you!"
Jellal sighed. He was not going to win this one way or another. If he lets her do what she wants she would likely inflict pain on him but be happy and if he refused her she would be hurt and he would still suffer. It was best to go with the lesser evil….
….to be in physical pain.
"Fine," he said in defeat as he opened his mouth. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
"Nope!" Erza shook her head. "Guess again."
The lesser evil be damned! There was no way Erza was going to shove anything up his butt! Without a second of hesitation, Jellal flung out an arm and shoved the thermometer out of Erza's hand. The thermometer flew across the room and smashed against the wall.
"Hey, stop being such a baby!" Erza barked. "I'm trying to cure you!"
"And I appreciate that, Erza," Jellal said soothingly "I really do. But I just want to get some sleep."
"Okay, fine!" Erza huffed. "Let me check your reflexes and I'll leave you alone." Erza walked away from the bed and for a moment Jellal thought he was finally going to get some peace until she suddenly whirled round with her thunder hammer at hand. "This might sting a bit."
A shiver ran down Jellal's spine at the rather terrifyingly ghoulish tone that Erza had just uttered. "What are you doing?!" he yelped, panicked.
"Try not to fidget," Erza said not answering his question and therefore making Jellal even more anxious. "I don't want to break the other leg by accident."
"What?!" Jellal yelled. "Don't be breaking any legs!" Jellal tried to scramble away from his insane girlfriend. "Put the hammer down Erza!" hr ordered.
"But I have to follow the nurse's oath!" Erza argued sternly. "No surrender! No retreat!"
Jellal was pretty sure there was no such thing as a nurse's oath and if there was it wouldn't be what sounded suspiciously like a battle cry.
There was no way he was going to make this out alive.
Not unless he ran for it.
Jellal leaped out of bed. "It's a miracle!" he cried out desperately. "I'm all better! In fact I think I'm going to run some laps!" he hobbled hastily out of the bedroom. "Ow!" he yelped at each and every painful step. "Ow! Ow! Ow! I'm so healthy!" he hollered over his shoulder in case Erza decided to chase after him to provide any more 'care'.
Fortunately Erza chose to stay in their bedroom as she crossed her arms in satisfaction.
"Juvia is right," Erza said smugly, "my love did cure him!"
