Summary: Inspired by the IT Crowd. Team Natsu hijacks Lucy's date.

Pairings: Implied Lucy/OC, implied Natsu/Lucy, and Team Natsu friendship feels.

YouTube Prompt: A Gray/Juvia video to 'I Was Made For Loving You' by Kiss because if you swapped the word 'girl' for 'boy' it would definitely be Juvia's thought process about their relationship.

Today was Lucy's day!

First she had found the perfect job that split between everyone else with the team would give her enough to cover her monthly rent. Then she met the most gorgeous, polite, nicest guy around who helped them so much that Lucy had no doubt he was clever as well. Which was a really huge asset because they finished their job without an ounce of property destruction and therefore she had all her rent money for the month.

But to really top it off this gorgeous, polite, nicest guy was now asking her out on a date.

She could barely stop herself from squirming in excitement!

(Having Happy ask her really loudly if she needed the loo helped though.)

"I….erm…don't suppose," The gorgeous, polite, nicest guy said bashfully as he rubbed the back of his neck, "that, erm, you would like to come to theatre with me tonight?"

Lucy was about to open her mouth to answer when Natsu suddenly slung his arm over her shoulder and leaned in. "I would be delighted to!" Natsu said cheerfully.

The boy blinked bewilderedly.

Lucy gritted her teeth furiously as she tried to restrain herself from punching Natsu. "He was asking me, Natsu!" she hissed.

"Really?" Natsu said doubtfully. "Because he was looking at me."

"No," Lucy's eyebrow twitched, "he wasn't!"

"Err," Natsu said in a voice that suggested he thought Lucy was being stupid, "I think he was."

"You weren't even in his eye line!"

"Pillock-"

"It's Philip," the boy interrupted shyly.

"That's what I said," Natsu said unashamedly, "who were you talking to, me or Luce?"

"Erm," Phillip flushed at being put on the spot, "Lu-"

"That's what I thought," Natsu interrupted as he turned his back to Phillip dismissively, "he was talking to me."

Lucy was on the verge of screaming at Natsu but before she could even open her mouth, Gray decided to butt in. "Is there any famous people in it?" Gray asked interestedly.

"Erm," Phillip rubbed the back of his neck nervously, "No. I don't think so."

"Then it's a pass for me," Gray said dismissively, "last amateur crap I went to ended badly. The entire theatre literally blew up."

"Because we were the cast and you and Natsu wouldn't stop fighting!" Lucy snapped irritably. "And he wasn't asking you either!"

"Oh wait!" Philip clicked his fingers. "That new model in Sorcerer Weekly is supposed to be making her debut in it."

"Really?" Gray perked up. "She's gorgeous! I will come to the group thing then!"

"YOU WEREN'T INVITED!"

"Well, erm, I suppose if they really want to," Philip said nervously, "they could come too."

There was a loud clap as Erza clasped her hands together in delight. "Oh the theatre!" she said dreamily as stars sparkled in her eyes. "The red curtain, the costumes, the smell of paint on the hastily made sets, the heat of the spotlight, and all the excitement! I do adore the theatre!"

"No," Lucy shook her head, "no, not you-"

"It would be rude to not invite you too," Philip said pleasantly (making Lucy wish he wasn't so polite after all), "please come."

Lucy almost screamed in frustration as she saw her date go down the drain before she could say or do something though there was a tug at the bottom of her shirt. She turned to find Wendy staring at her wide-eyed and innocent.

"Can I come too?" she asked sweetly. "I've never seen a play before."

"I – you- but….ah!" Lucy sighed heavily as she gave up completely, "sure," she mumbled dejectedly, "why not?"

…and that was how Lucy's potential romantic date with a dashing young man turned into a complete work outing with Natsu, Gray, Erza, and Wendy (with Happy and Charle on their laps) squeezed between her and her so called date.

(Unbeknownst to her the entire team gave each other sneaky high fives during the first scene at a job well done. There was no way they were going to let their Lucy date a weakling like that.)
