Chapter finished! Yay!
Before I go to the reviews I would like to celebrate a little because we passed 100 follows on this story! It means that now if you filter Shaman King crossover stories by follows this one will be at the first page! Which after thinking about it for a while it's actually kinda sad. Seriously why are there so few Shaman King fics? :(
Anyway Reviews:
Dragonslayerajahn - Huh, it really is ajahn. I can't believe i was spelling your name wrong the entire time. Sorry. I haven't started watching yet.
X3runner - I don't think I will do any death like training, for now at least. Something like this will happen later for sure. I'm not sure I understand what do you mean in the second question, sorry. As for Ozpin then let's just say he is aware of things that happened because of the tournament and he knew a certain famous ancient shaman but let's just say even if you lived for multiple generation and learned of something like then you would most likely assumed it to be magic rather than spirits.
NinjaFang1331, Gamelover41562- thanks.
It was a day like every day in Vale. Sun was shining, people were walking and a certain trio of colorful teenage girls were running through the streets of the city while screaming the name of their friend like crazy.
Okay, maybe it wasn't a day like every day for some people at Vale.
The reason behind these young girls' actions were the results of a fight one of them just had with the friend they were looking for right now.
It all started in the morning when the team RWBY on the insistence of one of its members Weiss Schnee went to the Vale's docks to welcome the students from Vacuo who were arriving that day as a preparation for Vytal festival.
Their peaceful and harmless outing quickly changed for worse though as by chance they managed to witness a few detectives working on a case in a nearby robbed Dust store.
While normally seeing such things in Vale wasn't anything out of the ordinary and it wouldn't cause a fight between two good friends, the scale of the robbery led the detectives and Weiss to think the culprits of that looting were members of terrorist organization called White Fang which didn't sit right with the friend they were currently looking for Blake.
The fact that the strange and unexplained destruction of many desolate and out of the way locations like the edges of Emerald Forest or rarely visited graveyards around Vale that recently happened was blamed on them didn't help either.
That normal difference in views between Blake and Weiss quickly turned into a heated argument during which the rest of team RWBY learned of a controversial past of their friend making Blake run away in either fear or determination to prove she was right.
It all happened in the morning and currently the sun was closer to setting than rising and Ruby together with the rest of her at the moment available team were still searching for their runaway team member.
"Blake! Are you here!? You have to tell us if you're here!" Her sister, Yang shouted at the top of her lungs nearly destroying their eardrums while hoping to get any reaction.
Luckily, she didn't have to cover her ears to protect herself from Yang's shouts for too long because Weiss quickly decided to step in and stop her sister's failing attempts at locating Blake.
"Stop shouting you buffoon! Blake isn't lost, she run away! She won't come out just because she heard us! She will just run away further from us!"
Unluckily for her the method Weiss used to stop Yang wasn't that much different from the method Yang was using to find Blake.
"Well maybe if you actually listened to your advice and didn't shout at Blake during your fight then we wouldn't have to be searching for her right now!" Yang shot back because of course Weiss's words would start another fight.
Just like that another fight between members of her team began and she was left as the only one who was searching for their missing friend.
She moved away from her arguing friends a little to be able to actually hear something and continue her search. She wasn't listening to what her friends were fighting about at the moment and she didn't really care.
It was a small quarrel that would end after a few seconds anyway so there was no point in trying to break them apart. Everyone has to shout all of their frustration out sometimes after all.
At least that was what she thought for the first few minutes of their fight but after almost a dozen minutes of hearing her friends non stop arguments behind her while not making any progress with finding Blake even she had enough.
"Will you guys finally stop fighting!" She shouted to get their attention.
Somehow her shout seemed to be both loud and sudden enough to work because soon after she said that both of her currently present friends turned towards her with frustrated looks on their faces making them look as if they wanted to scream at her for halting their argument.
"We are here to look for Blake and not to have another fight so you guys either reconcile or we are splitting up to search for her on our own and meet somewhere either after finding her or giving up for today, alright?" She said with a tired and angry tone.
"But she was the one who-" Weiss tried to argue while pointing at Yang but one glare was enough for her to stop. Weiss then coughed in her sleeve to diffuse the situation before saying with a small stutter. "I-I guess that fight was a bit unnecessary. Let's split up and search for Blake then."
Seeing that Weiss admitted that their disagreement was meaningless Yang sighed a little to get rid of the tension she just noticed she had and apologized. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't lash out on you because of this situation with Blake."
After a short moment of silence she used to make sure that her friends' agreement was real or not, Ruby jumped a little with an energetic nod before pointing at a random alley and saying.
"Alright team, since Weiss said she wants to split then let's split. If any one of us finds Blake then the first thing they do is to call for the others and if none of us find her then after the sun sets we meet back here again, alright?"
"Alright!" Both Yang and Weiss shouted in agreement before turning towards different streets and starting going there.
Like that the RWY of team RWBY spread out through the entire Vale in the search of the last missing letter from their team.
...
Somewhere else in Vale...
...
More than a week has passed since Jaune's fight against Ren and in that time he somehow managed to recover to an almost completely healthy state.
He was now taking a stroll through Vale together with Summer after his very first hellish training Summer created to try to increase his fighting chance in the tournament.
Normally humans without their Aura unlocked that were as wounded as he was back then would still be bedridden with no hopes to even stand up let alone walk around or go through the training Summer made him but thanks to healing semblances of doctors who took care of him he was now as fine as he could be.
Healthcare for huntsman in training Ren and Nora got him was really something else compared to the ordinary one. He would really need to find a way to pay it back for them.
"Did you have to be so cruel during our training today?" He asked his guardian spirit while stretching his arms and groaning from tiredness.
He quickly regretted voicing his complaint because soon after he said that Summer narrowed her eyes at him and gave him a look that if he didn't see that look before during their training would scare him enough to almost give him a heart attack.
"Did I hear correctly that you want to increase your training regime tenfold?" Summer asked with a slight smile and threatening tone before stopping in place, turning directly towards him and pointing at him while giving him a speech he heard about a dozen times today already.
"You know that among all of the participants in this tournament we would be one of the weakest. Sure our Over Soul might be incredibly useful especially since it's based on my semblance and we somehow managed to win our first battle but remember that these are all the advantages we currently have." After saying that Summer decided to poke him with every statement she said to get her point across.
"You do not have any huntsman training. Your fighting experience can be summed up as clumsily copying me. Your physical strength is nothing out of the ordinary. And we just learned that your current Furyoku isn't anything special either."
After saying all of that Summer finally seemed to be satisfied with her speech so she quieted down to look at him and await his answer.
"I know, I know but there's no point in training so hard if I'm going to be dead during every one of our fights in the tournament, right?" He answered with a sigh and an exhausted tone.
His answer seemed to give Summer something to think about as after she heard it she became quiet for a second contemplating the point he was trying to make.
"I guess you are right about that and maybe increasing your training tenfold might lead to us losing the tournament but It doesn't mean we should take our training lightly." Summer said with a small huff and started moving forward with him once again.
"Blake! Where are you?!" Or at least she tried to before stopping in place after hearing a loud shout of her older daughter from their left.
Their reactions to hearing that shout were similar as both of them quickly stopped moving further and turned towards the direction they heard the scream from with confusion on their faces.
"Hey Summer, wasn't that your daughter screaming just now?" He asked with a dumbfounded expression on his face.
"I-It was." Summer answered with just as much confusion as he had when he asked.
Their bewildered state was quickly interrupted by a certain black haired, bow wearing girl that just ran past them. It was Blake who instead of going towards Yang's scream was running away from it.
"That's Blake isn't it? Let's see what's going on and help her." He said before turning towards the direction Blake stormed off to.
"Isn't our next fight in three days? I don't think we should be wasting our time like that." Summer said, trying to stop him.
Unfortunately for Summer, her effort to stop him didn't work as he just kept moving forward at a rather leisurely pace before answering her. "She's your daughter's teammate. I really think we should help her."
"We still have our next training in an hour and I'm sure Ruby, as the incredible team leader that she undoubtedly is, will be able to do this. Especially with the help of the rest of her team." Summer once again tried to stop him.
"It might be a dangerous situation. You wouldn't want your daughter to be hurt in such a case, would you?" He answered before speeding up to catch up to the black haired runaway.
His argument, simple as it was, seemed to work because after hearing it Summer gave in and swiftly followed after him.
"You just want to skip on today's training, don't you?" Summer asked after passing him and flying in Blake's direction.
He wisely decided to not answer the rhetorical question his guardian spirit asked him just now.
...
Elsewhere in Vale...
...
After close to half an hour of looking around without any results, Ruby was certain that she had no clue where Blake ran off to.
She traveled through dozens of alleys and streets without finding her friend. She looked at the roofs of countless buildings with the hope of finding her friend there but she found nothing and she even tried to ask some people if they saw Blake or not.
Her tries in asking people didn't result in anything helpful to her though. Especially since her social skills were so terrible it wouldn't be a hyperbole to say she didn't have them at all.
It wasn't her fault, okay?
Social skills weren't a necessity in her career path, kicking grimm's and bad guys' butts were.
She was currently slowly walking through one of the biggest market squares in Vale. She wasn't dashing through it like she did through all the valleys she visited earlier to regenerate a bit of energy and not get too tired to move during her search.
Despite being a huntress in training and having been trained since she remembered she still could get tired after almost an hour of non-stop running and using her semblance.
"Aghh! Why did Blake and Weiss have to behave so childishly?! Shouldn't I be the one who acts childishly in our team since I'm the youngest?" She screamed her complaints in hopes that it would somehow help her.
Immediately after doing so she quietly made an eep-like sound before trying to quickly and awkwardly hide in the crowd as the attention of everyone around was gathered on her.
"Seriously, is it so hard for Blake to just have a normal conversation without running away? Now we have to search through the entire Vale for her." She mumbled quietly to herself while kicking a small rock on the ground forward.
She then moved a few steps forward in the direction the pebble she kicked flew in to kick it again and maybe decide where to search for her teammate next.
"Are you looking for somebody?" She suddenly heard a soft and rather calm boy's voice from right behind her.
Her reaction was a very natural and thought out one and It was a reaction any normal living being would have in a situation similar to hers.
She screamed loudly, turned around with a slight jump and prepared herself to fight by raising both of her arms and one of her legs in a stiff battle stance that resembled something she once saw in a martial arts movie she watched.
"I-Is everything alright?" The boy who startled her asked her with a stutter and both of his hands in the air.
After hearing the unknown boy say that she quickly looked at herself and noticed how silly she looked with the stance she was in. She swiftly put her raised leg on the ground and stopped holding her stiff guard with an embarrassed look on her face.
"Y-Yes, everything's alright." She answered before finally taking a good look at the person in front of her.
If she were to describe the young boy before her with one word then she would describe him as green. The boy who looked to be her age or maybe even younger was almost entirely green. His soft, although a bit ruffled at the ends, hair was light green. His big round eyes were the same. Even the clothes he wore didn't break the green theme as his thick cloak that covered most of his body was green as well.
There was one thing aside from the color that stood out about him though. It was how feminine he looked. If she didn't hear his rather boyish voice from behind earlier she might have believed the person she was currently looking at was a girl.
"Good to know." The green boy said before bringing back the question he startled her with. "When I was walking by, I couldn't help but overhear about how you are searching for somebody. I think I might be able to help you."
"Wait, really? You have seen Blake?!" She asked with disbelief.
"I don't even know who Blake is, by help I mean that I could help you search for her, I'm a dowser." The boy answered with a small laugh and an extended hand slightly lessening her excitement.
"Yes, of course. You don't even know how Blake looks, how could you possibly have seen her. I'm so dumb." She said while slamming her hand against her forehead before grabbing the boy's hand and accepting his help. "Okay, thank you for the help Dowser. The person we are looking for is black haired, golden eyed girl with a ribbon on her head."
She must have said something funny when she accepted Dowser's help because right after she said that he started to lightly laugh.
"Did I say something funny, Dowser?" She asked in confusion while tilting her head.
"N-Not really. It's just that dowser isn't my name but my profession." He said after stopping giggling before once again extending his hand and introducing himself.
"My name is Lyserg Diethel and I'm a dowser." So that was his name. She must admit though, Lyserg was a way better name than dowser.
"And I'm Ruby Rose, a huntress in training." She said while once again grabbing Lyserg's hand before slightly tilting her head sideways and asking a question she had on her mind. "What's a dowser then?"
"Dowser is a person who specializes in finding places, items and people with the help of special wands or pendulums." Lyserg politely explained while revealing a crystal pendulum he had under his sleeve.
"Ah, that's perfect. Let's go, me and my friend were supposed to meet after the sunset but I will call them to meet right now then with your help we will easily find our friend." She said with an honest smile before dragging Lyserg through one of the alleys she came from and reaching for the scroll to contact the rest of her team.
...
At a different place in Vale...
...
Blake was furious. She couldn't believe how intolerant and misinformed her teammates were.
White Fang wasn't some terrorist organization Weiss claimed it to be and it for sure wasn't responsible for all of those Dust thefts and especially those destroyed sites around the less visited place in Vale weren't it's fault either.
Why would Faunus from White Fang want to destroy such good hiding places anyway?
They were the ones who had to use these types of places the most often while hiding from racist humans in Vale. Destroying them would be counterproductive to helping Faunus around the world feel safer.
She was certain that the White Fang was framed and she would prove it to her teammates even if it would take the next week to do that.
"Blake!" A loud and familiar voice resounded through one of the streets she was hiding in earlier.
Maybe I will prove it to them on a different street. She thought to herself while stealthy running in the opposite direction then the voice was heard.
Finding who framed the White Fang would have been way easier if her team wasn't trying to capture her at every instance they could. It wasn't easy being the only voice of reason in her team full of naive and indoctrinated huntresses in training who have never seen the cause behind the mostly peaceful movement that was White Fang.
There were of course exceptions in the White Fang who wouldn't hesitate to commit countless horrible acts against almost innocent humans if they could but she was sure that the vast majority of members were peace loving activists who want equality.
"It looks like Yang went somewhere else." She quietly whispered to herself while discretely leaning against a wall to make sure she wasn't standing out too much after noticing that she didn't hear her name being screamed by anybody.
After silently staying in place for a while to make sure that none of her teammates were near her, she slowly moved towards some obscure streets she could see from afar and began to wonder how to actually prove that the White Fang weren't the bad guys.
She knew that most of the Dust that was recently stolen was from the Schnee Dust Company who were one of the main targets of White Fang nowadays. Maybe new White Fang leader Sienna ordered to steal that Dust to bring attention to SDC's terrible treatment of Faunus.
It sounded like a possible reason behind those robberies but if that was the case then why wouldn't they just detonate or throw most of that Dust away. White Fang despite owning quite a few weapons didn't actually need that much Dust to use them and detonating all of it in the air would send way more meaningful massage.
It also didn't explain all those destroyed sites that apparently were also White Fang's fault. As far as she knew there weren't any SDC storehouses among the destroyed places and even if there were then all of them were confirmed to be empty.
What was the point in wrecking empty places anyway?
"Hey! We meet again." A rather loud boy's voice from her side brought her out of her thoughts.
"Huh?" She asked reflexively while abruptly turning her head to see who called her.
After turning around she saw a blond haired monkey faunus waving at her with one of his hands while casually walking towards her. He was wearing an unzipped white shirt that was revealing his muscled abs and light blue jeans which were covering most of his legs.
"Who are you?" She asked the monkey faunus before her.
The blond boy must have expected her to remember him from somewhere because right after she said that he faked being incredibly hurt by her question. The monkey faunus' fake pain didn't last for long though as he quickly laughed it off and extended his hand to properly introduce himself.
"I'm Sun Wukong, one of the students who came here from Vacuo. We saw each other right after I got out of the ship I came in." The boy said with a grin.
"You remembered me from just one look?" She asked with a bit of bewilderment present in her voice.
"What can I say? You are just that unforgettable." He lightly flirted in response only to be met with a small giggle from her.
Seeing that he got a reaction, Sun decided to ask her a question he had currently on his mind. "Say... Can I ask why are you sneaking around right now?"
That question caught her slightly off-guard as she wasn't expecting for Sun to even notice that she was hiding let alone to call her out for it. Was it really so easy to notice that she was trying to stay out of sight?
"That." She said only to stop for a second to think how to explain her reasons only to decide to give Sun a full story. "That is a long story. If you want I can explain it to you over a coffee."
"Sure, let's go." Sun answered before starting walking in the direction of a cafe Blake was leading him.
"Do you mind if I also tag along?" A voice of a certain wandering blond shaman was heard behind them.
...
At another location in Vale...
...
Weiss was slightly annoyed.
Today was supposed to be a normal and peaceful day during which they would have greet students from Vacuo and maybe scoop up the competition for the upcoming Vytal tournament yet now she was forced to run through the entire city while pointlessly looking for a delusional friend who thought terrorists couldn't do anything wrong.
Seriously, Blake had to accept that some faunus weren't killing humans for a good reason as well.
At least the aimless searching would end soon as Ruby already found a way to locate Blake that wasn't just mindlessly running through Vale while hoping that their runaway colleague would just stumble onto them during that.
She would be thankful to her team leader if Ruby would have somehow found a way to track Blake's movement or at least caught some clues that would help them determine where Blake could be at the moment.
She would have even praised Ruby as the greatest team leader if she just saw Blake running somewhere and then called them here to tell them the general direction where it was.
"...Diethel and he is a dowser who said he will help us find Blake." She certainly wasn't going to be happy from being called here for such a reason though.
"Did You really bring a con artist to help us!?" She screamed out of irritation while pointing at the green boy her team leader was holding right now.
The point she was trying to get across with her question must have been delivered slightly too subtly because right after she said that she wasn't met with understanding from her teammates or bashfulness from Ruby but instead the reaction she got was a confusion from the red and yellow sisters near her who didn't know what she was talking about.
"Gee, Weisscream. What got you so worked up?" Yang asked with bewilderment while looking at her as if she was the strange one here.
"What do you mean 'What got me so worked up'? Ruby called all of us here and is actively stopping us from finding Blake at the moment only to show us a dowser. A dowser!" She quickly said with a repetition at the end thinking that it would help clear things out.
"I might not know what's the deal with this dowser thing but if he says he can help us and he is willing to do it for free then what's the issue?" Yang answered with a question still not seeing her point.
"The issue is that dowsers are all swindlers who claim to be able to use supernatural powers to help you with finding things only to charge absurd prices for giving you random directions." She explained with as clear of a voice as she could produce while being as irritated as she was at the moment, only to give up with a loud sigh after seeing that even that didn't make her teammates think for a second.
Sometimes she really regretted being the only one who was actually thinking in their team. At least Ruby wasn't butting in to the fight so there was a chance that her team leader finally understood how stupid mistake she made.
In reality Ruby at this point was both too tired and too afraid to stop their fight so she was just quietly watching from the side thinking about everything that was wrong with this entire day.
"Miss Weiss?" Lyserg tried to add something from himself to the conversation that was happening.
"What?!" She asked with a tired and angry tone while instantly moving her head towards the person who asked her that.
"I just want to help. If you think my help won't amount to much then at least let me help you search although if you were to allow me to help you with my dowser abilities then I'm sure we will find the person we are looking for earlier." Lyserg said with a smile on his face, trying to appear as harmless as possible.
A short but painful while passed as she pondered whether to accept that stranger's help or not.
"Ugh, fine! But remember that I'm watching you!" After a few seconds of thinking she finally broke. The fact that she was too tired to argue with Yang more helped that decision the most though.
"Thank you for allowing me to help." The dowser said with a wry grin before rolling one of his leaves up to reveal the pendulum under it and mumbling something under his breath.
After Lyserg's pendulum floated in place for a second it suddenly started to point in a fixed direction. It was aimed more or less in the direction of docks but it wasn't precise enough yet to confidently tell where Blake was hiding.
"Looks like we are going that way." Yang said with a little curiosity in her eyes before walking in the direction the pendulum pointed to.
Ruby and Lyserg quickly followed after one of them finally stopped gushing about the unnatural way the pendulum acted.
"Are you guys really just going to follow that? It was a simple trick. He just pointed in a random direction!" She shouted only to be ignored by everyone else who were too tired to argue with her.
"Hey wait for me!" She shouted before quickly rushing forward to catch up to them.
...
Somewhere else in the city...
...
There were many cafes in Vale so it wasn't too hard for three teenagers to find one.
Of course it wasn't as easy as going to the first cafe near them and simply going there as in a busy place like Vale many of the cafes were just too full of people to enjoy a coffee while having a normal conversation in the meantime and if one was actively trying to hide from someone during that conversation on top of that then finding a correct cafe suddenly might become a small trouble.
Thankfully Jaune, Blake and Sun quickly managed to find a perfect place where they would not only have privacy but also a good coffee on top of that.
Blake's experience in remaining unseen she got from White Fang sometimes really came in handy, especially if the other people in the group weren't as concerned with being stealthy at the moment.
Blake and Sun were currently sitting and drinking their coffee at a table right next to the fence so that if a teammate of Blake were to pass by they could quickly run away.
Sun earlier tried to argue that running away from their own friends like that wasn't a good idea and even if Blake didn't want to meet them then at most they should have hid inside and not be prepared to run but one look from Blake was enough for him to concede.
Meanwhile Jaune instead of sitting together with them at the table decided to stand a few steps away from them to be able to subtly converse with Summer while not looking like he was talking to himself easier.
Luckily it wasn't hard to convince Blake that he just wanted to stay further away to make sure that he would be able to see earlier if any of her teammates were going in their direction.
Although, he said that he doubted that any one of their friends would come here to look for them considering how out of the way the place they were in was.
"So you are basically saying that you want to infiltrate the White Fang and find out the truth behind their recent actions to prove to your friends that they aren't as bad as the media says they are." Sun summarized what Blake told them just a while ago to make sure he understood everything correctly.
The first thing Blake did after finding the cafe they were currently in and ordering her drink was telling them why she had run away from her teammates so they already knew the reason behind hers actions and Sun was merely confirming her next goal.
"That is so stupid and irresponsible! If you truly wanted to prove to your friends that then you could have just made up and then figured something out with them later, not run away without any explanation!" Summer criticized while venting her anger by shouting only to be met with no reaction from the two faunus of the group as they couldn't see her and a small shrug from him.
If he were to be honest, out of every reason to hide from your friends, a fight over ethics of someone's earlier organization seemed like quite a decent one. Then again he ran from his home at the age of seven to find a way to prove to his family that he was normal so maybe he wasn't the best judge.
"Yes, although I'm not sure how to exactly do it yet. I know that I will have to intercept one of their supposed robberies of Dust and see what is truly happening but I don't know where they will hit next." Blake answered Sun with a bit of a conflict in her voice.
Both he and Sun in response stayed silent in thought while slowly nodding to show that they were paying attention. He didn't know what Sun was thinking about at the moment but he wondered whether helping Blake or bringing her back to the rest of her team would be for the better.
"I know since White Fang are stealing huge amounts of Dust then they for sure will try to get the Dust delivered by ships at the docks! Let's catch them there! " Sun loudly said after thinking for a while.
"That is actually a good idea. I will go there and see what is going on" Blake answered with conviction in her voice before standing up.
After hearing the determination in Blake's voice, Jaune let out a small sigh before saying. "Alright since you have already decided then we will go with you."
"You/We will go too?!" Blake and Summer asked at the same time, surprised that the runaway would get help from them.
He decided not to answer Summer yet because Blake after standing up was right next to him and she was currently focused on him. He really didn't want to look like a lunatic right after saying that.
"Of course we will. How could we just ignore it after hearing your story? It would sit right with us, right Jaune?" Sun answered the question before he could say anything.
In response to Sun, he simply nodded and made a humming sound, confirming what his blond friend said.
"Jaune, it's a terrible idea. We should really just stop her and call for her friends so that they could calmly talk it out. We will be practically breaking la-""Alright, then let's go team!" Summer's attempts at convincing him to not do this were cut short by a shout from Sun who already began walking towards the docks with Blake.
He, soon after casually putting his walking stick against his shoulder, followed right after them, albeit he walked a tad bit slower to be able to say something to Summer.
"There's no point in trying to stop her Summer. If we stop her and let the rest of her team take her then she will just run away again but if we help her then even if she was wrong the entire time and she won't be able to prove anything then she will have no other option then to meet with her teammates again." He whispered to Summer after making sure that he wouldn't be heard by Sun and Blake.
After saying that, he didn't wait for the response from his guardian spirit and he immediately quickened his walk to quickly catch up to his friends. He also wasn't too happy about doing this but he knew from experience that in this situation Blake would not come back to her team without at least trying to prove that she was right.
...
Half an hour later...
...
More often than not, after finding a goal to achieve it doesn't take long for people to accomplish it so after Blake decided that the best course of actions would be to infiltrate the White Fang and see the truth behind its actions before the next robbery at the docks it didn't take them too long to find the meeting place White Fang was using before their heist.
There were some issues with getting there though, especially since under the insistence from Blake they were effectively forced to avoid the rest of team RWBY during their short adventure through Vale.
This time it was especially annoying to do because for some unexplained reason the RWY of team RWBY, despite the three of them always going through the lesser known alleys and hiding whenever they could, somehow always knew where to find them.
Thankfully with the help of Summer who acted as a temporary scout of their makeshift infiltration team Jaune could always warn Blake whenever they were about to be spotted by one of their friends.
He was incredibly relieved that Summer actually agreed to help them as without her they would have been found at least a dozen times by now.
Convincing her wasn't easy of course and she still wasn't doing it entirely willingly judging from the fact that she was pouting the entire time and sometimes he could hear her mumble complaints to herself but at least she wasn't actively trying to stop them from infiltrating the White Fang now.
"Apparently this is the place White Fang's meeting will take place in." Blake said quietly while looking at an abandoned warehouse.
They were currently hiding in one of the back alleys at the dock district of Vale and observing a bunch of masked faunus slowly gathering around one of the many warehouses they could see from where they were. The position they were currently in might not have been exactly the best place to observe what was going on at the warehouse but it allowed them to quickly run away or hide among the crowd if they needed to.
At first Blake wanted to observe the warehouse before going there from the roof of one of the buildings around but after he reminded her of all the times they had to change their path because of their friends almost finding them she decided against it.
"From what I can see, they seem to check everyone if they are a faunus so only me and Sun will go inside while you will be covering us from the outside, alright Jaune?" Blake asked him after looking at the people slowly entering the meeting place.
In response to Blake's question, he quietly and clearly nodded to agree with her proposition.
"I know it might not be the best moment to ask but do you actually know how to fight Jaune? We know you aren't a student at Beacon and I wouldn't want to endanger an untrained person in such a situation." Sun asked him as well to satisfy his curiosity.
"Don't worry, I may not have my Aura unlocked but I am being trained by the greatest huntress in history so I'm pretty sure I will be fine if it comes to a fight." He answered while praising Summer a little to cheer her up.
Blake and Sun must have thought that his answer would be something completely different because right after he said that they didn't even bother with hiding the surprise on their faces.
"Do you really know how to fight? All this time I thought that you were just an untrained traveler." Blake asked for a confirmation with a surprise in her voice.
"Yup!" He said with a smile while popping the 'p' only to get a slightly confused stare from Blake who looked as if she just heard something familiar and couldn't quite place what it was.
Most likely Summer's daughters were also doing the same thing whenever they agreed with something. Summer was rubbing off on him more that he realized considering that he must have learned it from her.
"Okay, since you know how to fight then let's decide on a signal after seeing which you will go and help us." Sun proposed, not seeing anything familiar with Jaune's earlier actions.
It was a good idea if Sun and Blake were shamans then they could have just sent their guardian spirits to call him but since they weren't, a signal kinda became a necessity in a situation like that.
"How about we stay as guards outside the meeting place and after seeing three lightning Dust bullets quickly send into the ceiling of the warehouse we go and help them. That's more or less how we did things in team STRQ." Summer said, giving her proposition and he immediately repeated after her while omitting the second sentence and slightly changing the first one to the others.
"That's a good idea. Let's do it that way." Blake said before turning around towards the warehouse to see that most of the faunus who were earlier waiting outside of it were already gone.
"Now, let's go." She said before leaving with Sun towards the White Fang's meeting place.
After seeing Blake and Sun leave towards the warehouse and making sure he wouldn't be heard by them, Jaune stretched a little before extending his hand forward.
"Summer, spirit ball mode!" He said and after seeing Summer become a spirit ball in his hand he swiftly pushed his guardian spirit into his heart in a quick and practiced motion he has done countless of times already before and a motion lately he has been doing less and less.
"Spirit integrity!" He said somewhat loudly while feeling a familiar sensation of a spirit merging with him.
After his spirit integration was successful he casually sat down on the ground and leaned his back against a wall while making a provisional pillow out of his arms to wait for the signal in a comfortable position.
We aren't using an Over Soul this time? Summer asked him with a confused tone in her voice.
I doubt there are any shamans in the White Fang and I don't want to accidentally kill someone with our Over Soul in the chaos of a battle. He answered in his mind before yawning and glancing at the entrance to the warehouse to see Blake and Sun getting in.
Makes sense. Summer answered before focusing on staying vigilant as well.
Meanwhile inside of the warehouse, Blake together with Sun were currently waiting for every person to arrive so that the meeting with the operatives of White Fang could begin.
Inside of the Warehouse didn't look special at all and it was easy to see that it was chosen as a meeting place not for it's looks or even a security as it didn't seem so secure as well but it was instead chosen for its ease of access and its secrecy.
It wasn't a bad idea as it allowed most of the meetings to be held in secret and therefore safety but if just one person who wanted to harm the White Fang were to learn of it then it could lead to a colossal disaster for it.
Thankfully the only unaccounted for people who were aware of it were her, Sun and Jaune who just wanted to learn and maybe record what was currently happening in here to prove to her friends that White Fang was innocent so it wasn't so bad.
"There is a surprisingly huge amount of people here." Blake whispered to herself after noticing that the warehouse was already filled almost entirely.
"Did you say anything?" One of the armed guards asked her after hearing some mumbling.
"Nothing." She answered with a small smile before turning her head towards a rough-looking stage set up by the White Fang for a member responsible for the meeting to give their speech.
She wondered who would be the person giving the speech to all of the future members of the White Fang who were present here today. Maybe it would be one of the people she knew from her time at the White Fang?
After such a thought entered her mind she subtly grabbed Sun by his arm and dragged him to the biggest crowd in the building so that they could hide in it. She didn't want her ex-comrades to find her here. She might still believe that White Fang as a whole was innocent but even she had to agree that some of the members were a bit drastic in their actions.
"So... We are just going to wait here and see if at least one of your old friends from the White Fang is still trying to fight for true equality and after seeing it we leave, right?" Sun asked her quietly for confirmation of their purpose here.
"Yes, now be quiet. It's starting." She answered before noticing someone entering the stage.
Honestly, she was a bit afraid about who would be the person in charge of this meeting. Deep down, she knew it most likely wouldn't be anyone who she knew as most of her colleagues from the White Fang had positions that were too high for them to work for such ordinary meetings and recruitment programs but she was still scared of the smallest possibility of seeing one of the close friends she abandoned.
With those feelings raging through her, she looked at the stage to see the person who was about to give them a speech and after seeing who it was her emotions exploded.
"Welcome you animals! Are you surprised to see me?!" An orange haired man whose face was known by almost every citizen in Vale shouted, getting the attention and rage of every faunus present.
What was that person doing here? Did the White Fang truly become just a terrorist organization? Thoughts like these were filling Blake's head as she rushed forward through the groups of people before her.
"I know what you might be thinking! 'How dare such a handsome and incredible human being stand before us during our meeting?' If I guessed your thoughts correctly then worry not because I'm about to answer them!" The orange haired man loudly said with a small laugh and charismatic grin.
What was going on? Were the people at White Fang crazy now? Worries passed through Blake's head as she charged through the crowd.
"Blake! Wait!" A quiet shout from Sun drowned in the screams and shouts of other faunus present in the warehouse.
"You see, some time ago I made a deal with a person your bosses presently work for, so now we are on the same side! While normally by now I should have been quietly collecting dust with the members of the White Fang who were already in the know of our cooperation, our shared contractor is apparently quickly running out of time to accomplish their mission so from now on we will be fully helping each other!"
After the famous thief of Vale said that he wanted to continue but he stopped himself after seeing a certain black cat faunus jumping at him with a weapon ready to strike.
"It looks like our cooperation might start a bit earlier than expected." Torchwick said with a smirk while blocking a direct attack from Blake.
"What are you doing here, you bandit!?" Blake angrily shouted with her voice being filled with venom while dodging backwards to prepare for a fight.
"If I remember correctly then I think I've already said what I was doing here. Were you perhaps not listening to me?" Master thief of Vale said with a playful tone in his voice before pointing the cane in his hand at Blake and firing from it.
Blake swiftly dodged to the side and after doing so quickly looked around to see a crowd around her going wild with some of the people running away while others stood in place from either confusion or fear. Some people were even running towards them to help Torchwick with his fight against her.
She also saw Sun quickly arrive next to her and him getting ready for a fight by revealing his weapon which were two nunchucks with guns attached to their ends.
Seeing that the fight was unavoidable at the moment and that they were heavily outnumbered, she decided to make use of the signal they agreed on earlier with Jaune so she raised one of her arms upwards in a swift motion and quickly shot three lightning dust bullets towards the ceiling.
At the same time, just outside of the warehouse the rest of team RWBY together with a green haired dowser were still searching for Blake.
The day-long search must have taken its toll on the girls who were looking for their runaway friend as none of them looked particularly well rested or happy at the moment. Although they seemed to be more annoyed than tired now, it wasn't hard to notice that they were almost done with that pointless hunt.
At this point Ruby was yawning almost every minute from sleepiness and after making jokes from the morning up until now to relieve some stress even Yang ran out of puns to say to improve the mood.
The worst looking out of all of them was Weiss though. Ever since Ruby and Yang accepted the help of Lyserg she wouldn't stop being upset and complain at the young dowser, especially since every time they've arrived at the place he led them to, they unsurprisingly found nothing that would help them with finding Blake.
"Looks like your friend is in that building. You should go and see what she is doing." Lyserg said while looking at his pendulum which was currently pointing at an old warehouse before them.
Something that he said must have broken Weiss's patience because right after he finished speaking she exploded from irritation. "Ohh, Really?! Are you saying that unlike the previous FIVE times your stupid toy pointed us at a random direction where there wasn't a single person we knew, this time Blake might actually be there?! Because if you are saying that, then I don't think there's a point in listening to you because this place doesn't look any different than all of the previous locations!"
While saying that Weiss felt a light tug on her sleeve but she decided to ignore it in favor of letting her anger out on a person who basically made fun of them by making them walk in circles.
"Weiss." Ruby gently called out while still pulling her friend's sleeve.
"Not now, Ruby. I'm still not done with that uncultured, impolite and deceitful CON ARTIST!" Weiss screamed while crudely poking Lyserg with her index finger, without even turning her head around to look at Ruby while talking.
"Weiss look!" Ruby shouted while pointing her finger at the warehouse to get the Schnee's attention.
"Wha-?" Weiss started to ask a question but she stopped herself after seeing electricity sparkling through the entire building and a familiar looking blond boy with a wooden staff for a weapon rushing towards it.
"Apparently, he was right this time." Yang casually said with a small yawn before starting to walk in the direction of the building.
After seeing one of them already going there it didn't take long for the rest of the group to follow. The only exception was Lyserg who before joining the team in going towards the warehouse stood for a few seconds in place while quietly mumbling something to himself and holding his pendulum with one of his hands.
In the meantime the inside of the warehouse became a warzone. Blake and Sun might have been capable fighters against whom ordinary bandits or White Fang crooks would stand no chance but even they weren't able to quickly neutralize a famous master thief of Vale while completely surrounded and outnumbered.
Everything was in chaos, people were running in every direction, guns were being fired only to be stopped by the Aura of Blake and Sun or by random crooks caught in the crossfire and the weapons were being swung nearly at random by almost everybody in the battle.
It was the scene Jaune saw the moment he entered the warehouse to help his friends and he honestly had no idea what to make of it.
Thankfully, with the help of experience in chaotic fights Summer had, it didn't take long for them to spot their friends currently fighting against Roman Torchwick while dodging and blocking everyone around them.
After noticing the most important things that were happening at the moment, Jaune quickly dashed forward through the crowd of enemies to help his friends.
Of course all the crooks in the building quickly noticed him as well so they obviously tried to stop him from moving forward but with the skill of Summer it wasn't hard for him to get past them.
"Looks like your friend is coming to help. If he is as strong as you guys are then I might even be forced to run away for now." Torchwick said after catching a sight of someone rushing past all of the goons who were working for him while skillfully parrying rapid a series of attacks from Blake.
"I don't think that running away will be your choice to make!" Jaune shouted while thrusting his staff at Roman from the side.
Unfortunately his surprise attack was easily dodged by Torchwick who simply leaned backwards to let the weapon fly past him.
Immediately after seeing that his thrust missed, Jaune quickly grabbed his wooden staff from the side and tried to at least hit his foe with a wide side swipe but unluckily for him Roman expected this so his attack was blocked.
When he noticed that his strike was stopped, Summer's battle instincts instantly kicked in and made him jump away to not be hit by a possible counter attack.
After Jaune relocated he stood to the side of Roman while Blake and Sun were right before their opponent meaning that Torchwick was now almost surrounded and that they had gained some advantage in that brawl.
As big of an advantage as they could get while being outnumbered dozens to three anyway.
"You are here." Blake stated in relief while protecting herself from the attack of the crooks from the White Fang.
"So what if one more of you is here if you are all going to die here anyw-""Blake, are you here!? Please tell us that you are here!" Torchwick was about to mock them and their preparations but he was stopped by a familiar shout belonging to a certain blond teammate of Blake.
Right after the shout resounded through the building, three colorful teenagers barged in with the sound of shotgun gauntlets being fired with a green haired boy wearing a detective-looking outfit following them soon after.
"Guys." Blake said with disbelief after seeing her friends entering the warehouse.
After hearing Blake say that the faces of the three girls who burst in visibly brightened.
"See? I told you we would find her." Yang said with a smile to Weiss while pointing at Blake.
"What are you doing here?" Blake asked while completely ignoring Torchwick.
"'What are we doing here?!' What are you doing here?! Are you even aware how worried we were about you?" Weiss loudly asked and she would have started another fight with her runaway friend but she stopped herself after noticing that Roman Torchwick was gone.
"Weren't you fighting against someone?" Weiss asked to confirm that their enemy wasn't here.
Weiss's question brought everyone's attention to the spot where just a moment ago stood the most famous thief of Vale. Unfortunately the only thing they saw upon looking at that place was a flat piece of floor with no one on it.
Soon after everyone realized that Roman ran away, bullhead engines were heard just outside the building promptly making everyone including founes left here by Roman to go outside.
There they saw Torchwick together with the most important members of the White Fang who were present at the meeting flying up on a few bullheads that were most likely prepared for an escape earlier.
"I see that there are many unannounced guest here right now so I will take my leave! Believe me, I wouldn't mind entertaining you all normally but unfortunately my time here is up! See you later or maybe never!" Roman shouted from the bullhead while jokingly saluting and waving them.
"You won't get away! Quickly, let's stop him!" Ruby shouted before aiming her weapon at the escaping bullhead.
She was about to fire and try to stop Torchwick but an unnaturally quickly flying pendulum beat her to it.
The pendulum easily pierced through the thick metal armor of bullheads. It flew and turned at impossible angles while moving through the bullheads as if they were made out of paper and the moment it completely destroyed one it instantly moved to the other which it destroyed just as easily.
In less than half a minute all of the escaping bullheads fell from the sky after being destroyed by an ordinary pendulum. The destruction it caused was incomparable to any offensive semblance that might have tried something similar.
"Wha-?" Someone asked in disbelief only to turn completely speechless after noticing who was the person responsible for it.
Silence spread through the entire alley the warehouse was located in as every person who was there watched as a young green haired boy was slowly returning his pendulum after one attack.
While everyone was watching it in disbelief and maybe even fear, entirely different emotions were going through the head of a certain blond shaman present in the audience of that spectacle.
I can't believe we met another shaman today. Jaune thought to himself after noticing that the reason behind the pendulum power was because of an Over Soul.
Is he our next opponent by chance? Summer asked in his mind.
I don't know but if he is then I can't wait to meet him later. Jaune said to Summer in his mind with a wide and excited smile.
The end.
It came out longer then I expected it would be but I guess It's not bad?
Also I didn't like how one scene was so out of character for Jaune so Here is Omake:
...
Omake... Omake?
...
Jaune was following Blake for quite a while now so when he noticed her hinding in place without moving anywhere for a while he decided that it was the perfect moment to talk to her and ask what was happening.
He smiled with confidance to make sure he wouldn't look weird during their talk and went forward.
"Stay where you are!" Summer shouted when she saw him going towards Blake with a smile on his face.
"What do you think you are doing?" She asked him after he stopped in place.
"I'm going to Blake to ask her what's going on?" He answered honestly while tilting his head slightly to the side from confusion born from Summer actions.
"Please tell how are you going to ask her that." Summer asked once again while lightly squizing her forehead as if to dull the headache.
"The same way I always do." He answered with a confident smile making summer go silent for a few second.
While being silent Summer was remembering all the times when Jaune was starting a conversation with anyone and how terrible they always were. All the times when families of the ghost they helped looked at them as if they were crazy or random merchants laughing quietly at them were echoing through her mind.
"No. You are going to listen to their entire conversation and then when they end it and are about to go somehere to continue it you will just ask if they mind if you tag along, understood?" Summer asked him a threatning smile.
"Bu-""Understood?!" Summer cut him off with a scary smile.
"Yes." He aswered with a fear in his voice.
"Good."
See ya.
