Short chapter but it sets up the off season chapters which I'm actually excited to write. I've also updated the player profile page.

Chapter Thirty One

Naruto took a deep breath as he looked himself over in the mirror. He wore a black suit with a orange inside. He also wore a black shirt with a orange bow tie. His hair was slicked back and he wore a gold Rolex watch. He hadn't shaved in the last few weeks and a light beard decorated his face.

"Yo Naruto come on we gotta go."

Naruto did one more look over before exiting his room.

"Is everyone there already?"

Shikamaru nodded."Yeah your mother, Mia and Nina are already there. The rest are running a bit behind they were out moving equipment into the truck."

The basketball player nodded. "How is that working out by the way?"

"It's good, they're almost ready to open. They got about two more weeks before your deadline and I'm pretty sure they're gonna beat it.

Naruto smirked as he grabbed his keys. "That was the idea."

Shikamaru shared his smirk as the two left for the Staples Center. Since he gave his friends a little incentive they had been working around the clock to get the truck up and running. He had honestly never seen them so determined and he was excited to see them succeed.

When they reach the arena the normal media frenzy snapped photos and called out questions but Naruto ignored them through his aviator shades as he walked into the arena. He saw a bunch of chairs set up in the lobby and smiled to see his family in the front row.

"Naruto I'm so proud of you."

The blonde smiled and hugged his adopted mother and sister before placing a kiss on top of his daughters head.

"Daddy is Kenny gonna be here."

"Sorry princess, she had a photo shoot already booked, and this is last minute but she said she'd spend the entire trip in San Francisco with us."

Nina nodded and Naruto smiled as he ruffled her hair before heading backstage.

"Yo Fishcake, congratulations. We all knew this was coming but we're still proud of you."

Naruto met Kobe backstage and shook his hand. "This is a milestone not everyone archives. You only get one rookie year and you made yours count. Congrats."

Kobe patted Naruto on the shoulder and headed out to find his seat. Naruto let out an exhausted sigh and ran a hand through his hair.

"You don't look like someone who was just named Rookie of the Year."

He smiled as he turned to Jeanie Buss walking towards him.

"I just have a lot going on it seems a bit overwhelming."

Jeanie nodded. "That's understandable and I wish I could say that it gets better but it doesn't, especially here. Not everyone is capable of playing and thriving here but this award shows that you can do just that."

Naruto nodded and Jeanie went to leave but Naruto stopped her.

"Why me?"

Jeanie turned around and laughed. "Are you serious? You were the highest ranked player in that draft."

"Yeah but you guys went all out to draft me. You guys made a trade that could have back fired, that could have ruined multiple careers. You literally used all your cards on a kid who hadn't played a single game in the league. Why?"

Jeanie sighed. "I'll be honest I was a bit skeptical at first, when the trade was first drafted up but the morning of the draft Kobe came to my office and talked to me about you. He said he'd been following you for some time. He was impressed by your resiliency. Your ability to continue on despite the hand of cards you were dealt. But where most would have made excuses to stop you turned it into motivation to go on and improve. That impressed him and it impressed me. Now here we are."

The All Star smiled. "Here we are."

After his conversation with Jeanie Naruto waited for the press conference to start. Earlier that day the NBA had announced him as the Rookie of the Year. He had lead all rookies is points, assist and three pointers made. He also finished second in the league for three point field goals made. The press conference was rushed by the team on the account that he was leaving for San Francisco to begin filming his movie.

"They just about ready for you chief. Did you prepare a speech?"

Naruto looked at Shikamaru with wide eyes. "No because I just found out this morning!"

The agent smirked. "Good cause it's only the Rookie of the Year award the the don't need some long tear jerking speech. Make it quick but not too short and speak from the heart."

Naruto nodded as he took a seat on the stage and listened to Jeanie and Kobe speak about him. Both praised his work ethic and his ability to make his teammates better. After what felt like an eternity Naruto was bought to the podium and handed the award. Ever since they had broke the news to him his mind had been clouded with so many emotions but now with the award in his hand his heart swelled with pride. He worked his ass off all season and despite their playoff ending the rookie had dominated and now his name was on a list with some of the greatest to ever play the game.

When he finally looked out to the crowd his nerves began to kick in as he scanned the faces. His family and friends sat up front and a few of his teammates were scattered around but that didn't settle him. It wasn't until he spotted a familiar mop of dark brown hair in the very back of the room that he calmed down and let a smile grace his face before he began to deliver his speech.

"It's an honor to win this award. First and foremost I wanna say thank you to God. I wanna say thank you to my family, especially my mother and sister. Those two ladies shaped me into the man I am today."

Amanda wiped a tear from her eye while Mia squeezed her mothers arm.

"I wanna say thank you to my teammates, the coaches and the entire Lakers staff. I got a couple of my teammates here. Jimmy, Kobe, Rudy. And Nick I see you brother!"

Nick stood up in the back with a bright smile on his face.

"Looking at this award and just reflecting on this year, my life. Any kid or athlete that looks up to me I just wanna tell them you can do anything in the world. As long as you put your mind to it and continue to work anythings possible. Thank ya'll."

He held the trophy up and walked off stage.

He was only backstage for a few moments before his girlfriend jumped on him wrapping her legs around his waist.

Kendall whispered a muffled congratulations against his neck.

"I'm so proud of you baby, you deserve this."

Naruto smiled as he sat her down on the ground. "I thought you wouldn't be able to make it?"

When the NBA released the announcement Kendall had been the first to call. She expressed how proud she was of him but told him she wouldn't be able to make the shoot due to a family photo shoot.

"Yeah well Kourtney told me I would be a terriable girlfriend if I missed this."

The basketball player smiled. "I don't know if I'd go that far but I'm glad you made it, was the rest of your family cool with you coming?"

The model sighed. "Not really. Khole called me selfish and Kim wouldn't shut up about how she cancelled her trip with Kanye."

Naruto nodded. "Well I'm happy you came and I'm sure your sisters were just giving you a hard time."

Kendall nodded and took his hand as they headed out to the car where Naruto's face broke into a wide smile. Parked in front of his Mercedes was a food truck with all his loved ones surrounding it. The truck was red and had the Liberty Bell painted on the side with the words "Taste of Philly" in black.

Davon sat in the drivers seat with Nina in his lap who obnoxiously honked the horn.

"Yo this is dope."

He walked around the truck getting a full view of the vision that his best friends bought to life.

"I gotta give it to you guys, I'm impressed."

"And this is only the start my guy, the end game is to one day open up our own restaurant."

Naruto smiled as Shikamaru handed him a check for twenty thousand dollars that only required his signature which he handed to Shana after signing.

"A deals a deal, now lets go celebrate."

There was a chorus of cheers but Biggs stopped it. "I'm down to go turn up just as much as the next guy but your girlfriend ain't even old enough to get in the clubs."

Everyone began nodding and Naruto smirked. "Don't worry I got this."

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "Yo Meek it's Ruto, I heard you were in L.A."

He stayed silent for a few moments as the rapper congratulated him on his recent success.

"Thanks brother I really appreciate it. I'm gonna cut to the chase I'm tryna party all night, you think you can set that up?"

His face broke into a wide smile as the Philadelphia rapper gave him the answer he wanted.

Next Day

Naruto stepped out of the car at LAX. The day before was spent celebrating his award and his friends new food truck which was the reason why he felt like absolute shit. He was dressed simple in basketball shorts and a hoodie and a pair of sun glasses framed his face. Meek had delivered as promised and threw Naruto a star studded ragger. He even rented out a mansion for the party.

Naruto would be the first to admit that he might have over done it but now he was looking forward to a nice and quite flight with Kendall, Shikamaru and his daughter. He was broken out of his thoughts when another car came to a screeching halt next to the jet and Killer B stepped out.

"What's good numba nine!"

The basketball player only groaned as he walked on to the jet, so much for peace and quite.

AND DONE! FINALLY

As you can see we are moving into the off season which means he will be filming Ant Man along with hanging out with other players around the league and celebrities in San Francisco. So I am nearing the conclusion of Naruto's relationship with Kendall, SURPRISE. Almost none of you liked the pairing anyway. So after some thinking I'm torn between two choices and I will let you all vote. The pairing won't be right away because Naruto will be coming out of a pretty serious relationship so he will spiral and of course sleep around before falling into the final pairing. So the pairing will either be Becky Lynch or Emilia Clarke. Voting will be done only through the poll on my profile. I realized a long time ago that I can't please everyone so if you don't like the choices you don't have to read. You can post who you would like Naruto to hook up with but those two girls will be the only two going for the final pairing.
