Short chapter, but I felt like I had to get this out. When I originally started this story I had plans for the bond Naruto and Kobe would share, the things they would accomplish. Two great players driven by their will to be the best. Now I'm stuck, this news hit me hard. I grew up watching Kobe. Number eight with the fro soaring through the air and throwing lobs to Shaq. I admired his passion of the game and his drive to be the best at whatever he did and it sucks that this tragic accident took not only his life but his daughters and several other people as well. I know this chapter isn't much but I felt like I needed to get something out to you guys.

Chapter Thirty two

Naruto nodded his head as he watched the San Antonio Spurs celebrate their NBA championship. It wasn't hard to see that they were gonna beat the Miami Heat enroute to their redemption but no one expected Kawhi Leonard to break out the way he did. He kept LeBron James on lockdown and without their main offensive weapon the Heat stood little to no chance against the seasoned Spurs team.

"Well at least you lost to the champions."

Naruto nodded his head at his mothers statement.

"Yeah but now we know who we gotta beat. The real work begins, have Shika hit up some local guys. Try to get a workout in."

"Naruto baby, the season just ended. Get some rest you have a packed summer planned."

The All Star shook his head as he shook his protein shake. "Exactly why I gotta start up as soon as possible. Gotta fit the workouts in whenever I can."

The Lakers point guard was currently in a house the Marvel Studios had paid for him to use while Ant-Man filmed in San Francisco. The house had four rooms,three bathrooms, a game room, a home gym and a pool that over looked the Bay Area. They had been in town for a week and Naruto had spent it at table readings and wardrobe fittings.

"I get it baby, you feel like you weren't there for the team when they needed you but you know not a single person in that locker room believes that. And burning yourself out isn't gonna do them any good."

Naruto went to argue but Amanda held her hand up. "I've been your coach and trainer for years and I know I taught you the importance of recovery. Now I've been talking to people around the league and they would love to come here and workout with you but right now every one is focused on spending time with their family and recovering from a long season. What you need to focus on is this blockbuster movie your making."

Naruto nodded and Amanda came up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. The two stayed like that for awhile before Amanda grabbed his face and turned it to look at her.

"You look so much like your father. You have some of your mothers features though."

Naruto sighed and Amanda gave him a proud smile. "I'm so proud of the man you've become and the things you've achieved. And if you can make me proud then I know Minato and Kushina would stop everyone they passed on the street and tell them you were their son."

The two laughed just as the front door swung open and Nina came bounding in. Her five year old energy never ending.

"Grandma!"

Nina ran into Amanda's leg who yelped in Spanish. "Insert Spanish."

As soon as the words left her mouth Mia and Kendall appeared in the doorway both out of breath while Nina laughed as Amanda picked her up and set her down on the counter. Mia wanted to get to know Kendall better so the two took Nina out to see San Francisco, and apparently she wore the two out.

Naruto took the opportunity to pretend to be hurt at his daughter ignoring his presence and Nina laughed even louder.

"Silly daddy."

Nina stood on the counter and jumped in to his arms.

"I missed you."

Naruto smiled as he hugged his daughter. "I missed you too. And you also need a bath."

"It's hot outside. But daddy look."

Nina gave him a big smile and Naruto quickly noticed the gap in her smile.

"You lost a tooth! Where is it?"

Kendall slammed a napkin on the counter as she chugged a bottle of water.

"You know what this means?"

Nina shook her head but her eyes shined with curiosity.

"The tooth fairy will come tonight and trade you your tooth for money."

"The tooth fairy?"

"I'll tell you all about her, while I give you a bath."

Soon after bathing and explaining the tooth fairy to his daughter Naruto was in her room brushing her hair. She had already changed into her Reck it Ralph pajamas and was waiting for him to be done so she could go to bed.

"Daddy, do I look like mama?"

Naruto couldn't help but smile as he places a kiss on the top of her head.

"No you look just like me. But you have her smile. And her nose. You also twiddle with your hands just like she did, only you do it when your in trouble."

The two laughed. "But you remind me of her everyday. She loved you so much."

Nina nodded as Naruto carried her to her bed.

"Do you miss her?"

"Everyday."

He placed one final kiss on his daughters head and went to leave but her small hands wrapped around his.

"Can you stay...please?"

Naruto looked down and noticed how Nina trembled a little. He quickly deduced that she was scared of the new room that would be her home for the summer and his eyes softened.

"Of course princess."

Nina smiled and moved the blanket aside to make room for him and Naruto quickly laid down next to his daughter.

"I love you daddy."Naruto smiled and kissed the top of his daughters head. "I love you too princess."

Next Day

To say Naruto was overwhelmed was an understatement. The moment he made it to set he was whisked off to hair and makeup. They spent two hours plucking his eyebrows, trying to style his unruly hair and the put so much makeup on his face it made his skin itch. After that he was moved to his own trailer.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Mister Uzumaki."

Naruto looked up as a women stepped into his trailer. "My name is Jen, I will be your personal assistant throughout the filming here in San Francisco. If you need anything my number is in this phone."

She handed him a phone. "The numbers for the lead actors, directors and anyone who is anyone here are on that phone."

Jen had light brown skin and long brown hair tied into a bun. She was around his age if he would guess he would say about twenty one.

"Now they wanna start filming immediately and once your wardrobe arrives you will change for your first official scene."

As on cue the trailer door opened and a rack filled with clothes was rolled into the room. Behind that rack someone walked in with an outfit that made Naruto's eyes go wide as he grabbed it out of their hands.

For the last couple of months he had tested countless suits that would be used to bring Ant-Man to life on the big screen. They tried to keep the colors the traditional black and red even though he tried his hardest to make it orange but everyone denied his notion.

The suit was made of black and red leather, with a metal utility belt and a metal helmet.

"I'll get dressed right away."

He grabbed the Ant-Man suit but Jen stopped him.

"Your actually not wearing that right now. Your first outfit is already in your changing room."

When he stepped out he was dressed in a pair of khakis and a pink Baskin Robbins shirt. When he finally made his way to the set people were running around getting everything in place for the scene. He had been on set a few times for Keeping up with the Kardashians and his commercials but this was way more overwhelming then that.

"You look lost."

Naruto smirked when he heard the voice as he turned around and saw Kobe walking towards him.

"Nah, just taking it all in. You know every kid always wanted to be a superhero."

"Nah. Not me."

The smile dropped off of Naruto's face as he looked into the eyes of the Black Mamba.

"I always wanted to be a basketball player. A legend. And I thought you did too."

Kobe gave him no time to respond as he walked away, leaving Naruto alone staring at the retreating form of his mentor and idol.
