So that went quick...

Reviews (This time there are many that i really didn't know how to answer correctly while avoiding spoilers so sorry if my replies are going to be lackluster):

Avalon gx - Those are insightful thoughts. Glad to know you are in Raven's camp it means that I managed to make her at least somehow sympathetic.

Loveless - Time, indeed and you are right, Qrow isn't a shaman.

Guest 2 - glad to know that you are excited :) Though there won't be much of your predictions in this chapter yet.

Guest 1 - Good to see another person in Raven's camp.

X3runner - Well the flaw with having aura is that those with Aura are unable to perform unity ( spirit integration) and have on average less Furyoku. I think it's enough of a difference though if you think it still isn't enough then I don't know what more to change.

megakdre100 - I always try to update as fast as I can though with my writing speed being only around 1000 words per day (I'm still inexperienced but I'm getting better. 3 chapters ago it was around 700 per day) it's hard to update truly fast.

memefarius - Hype

Kolomte'49 - Qrow isn't a shaman. When it comes to Ozpin, originally i planned him to be completely unaware of the tournament (only some suspicions of something big happening every 500 years) but at this point I'm not sure. I still haven't written anything about him in the story so any change made at this point won't really be a retcon so I will think about it.

The Black - Thanks, let's hope that this chapter lives up to your expectations.

Gamelover41592 - Thanks, as always and yeah 'uh oh' indeed.

On a cliff side near Beacon stood two teenagers in opposition to each other. One of them had blond hair and was holding a wooden staff as a weapon while the other had white hair and was using a saber to fight. Their muscles were tense and ready to spring either for attack or defense at a moment's notice.

If one were to be a shaman or at least a spiritually aware person then they would have been able to see that both of them currently had their Over Souls formed. They would also be able to see a slow rain of rose petals falling from the sky as a result of one of these Over Souls.

A fight between Jaune and Whitley was about to begin. The countdown had already gone down and now they were just waiting for the 'START' message to appear on their Oracle Bells to fight.

Jaune moved his foot slightly to the side in order to have a better position for a forward dash which at this point became his default strategy for starting shaman fights since it complemented his Over Soul's ability to teleport away from any danger whenever he wanted.

He was prepared to win this fight no matter what sort of power his opponent's Over Soul had and the only thing he was waiting for was the message on his Oracle ball that allowed him to begin.

"START"

It looked like he didn't have to wait for long.

He charged forward with all of his strength while having his weapon ready for anything that could happen during his dash. The dirt under him flew backwards as he kicked the ground to propel himself forward.

While the effects on the surroundings from his dash weren't anything impressive as he, despite all the training he did, wasn't really that fit compared to the people trained their entire lives to become huntsmen and huntresses, it still should have looked intimidating if he were rushing directly at someone.

Because of that it made him slightly worried that despite being right at the center of his attack path, Whitley didn't even budge from the position he was standing at the beginning of the fight.

His foe looked so calm that if he didn't notice a sudden movement in Whitley's spiritual energy which covered his saber, he would have thought that his opponent didn't even see him moving forward.

He knew that meant that Whitley was preparing for something and that it could be an attack but he was already too committed to his charge to stop now. At worst he would just teleport away with his Over Soul anyway.

A small smirk appeared on Whitley's face when he noticed that Jaune wasn't stopping and not even a second after that he hammered his sword into the solid rocks that made the ground under his feet easily piercing it.

When Jaune saw that he raised one of eyebrows in confusion. He didn't really know how burrowing the blade of his sword underground would help Whitley during the fight at the moment but he still jumped upwards to attack Whitley from above just in case.

While jumping into the air to attack from above would have been a terrible idea for almost everyone else as it would leave them completely vulnerable for any counterattack, it was completely safe to do for him as he didn't lose his most important movement options in the air anyway.

He moved his hands to the bottom of the halberd to make his strike as strong as possible and then he shifted his entire body to deliver his hit. If this connected then no matter how powerful Whitley was, he was still certain he would win.

Unfortunately his halberd was suddenly bounced back by some incredibly hard object.

"Haah!" He shouted in surprise as he touched the ground before dashing backwards to make some distance between him and Whitley.

"Is that all you have Jaune? I expected better." Whitley said with a scoff as he lifted his saber out of the ground.

He looked back at his opponent but he didn't answer as someone was already doing it for him if the shouts he was hearing from Nora were to indicate something. Instead he focused on the object that stopped his attack to try to figure out what Whitley's Over Soul was capable of doing.

Was it metal? He thought to himself as he noted a few spiritual spikes made out of some durable material slowly disappearing from around Whitley as the shaman brought his saber back to hold the same stance he was using earlier.

Unluckily for him he didn't have time to observe these spikes as they turned into pure Furyoku almost as quickly as they were created.

"Of course It won't be that easy." He murmured to himself with a click of his tongue before a sudden shriek of a familiar voice from the side caught his attention.

"Yang stop!" A few young female voices whined from the side getting his full attention.

Wasn't Yang Summer's daughter? Didn't these voices belong to half of the team RWBY? What were they doing here? Questions like these flooded his mind as he quickly turned around to see what was happening.

That action seemed to anger Whitley though because the moment he stopped paying attention to him he heard a growl from the young Schnee before a swooshing sound of the wind entered his ear.

"I don't think you are in the position to allow yourself to be distracted!" Whitley shouted with some venom in his voice before lightly stabbing the ground and causing dozens of long and thin blades to erupt from Jaune's side with all of them aimed at him.

Thankfully, he quickly noticed that he was in danger so he brought the flat side of the halberd to his face to protect himself from the blades as he didn't quite have the time to use his Over Soul's relocation ability.

The impact from the strike launched him a few meters backward and slightly grazed one of his arms making a small cut on it but it wasn't anything too serious.

It was enough for him to focus solely on the fight though. Whatever that shout was he was sure that he would be able to take care of it after the fight. At least he hoped so because he just knew that Summer wouldn't allow him to leave it be.

At the same time, almost the entirety of team RWBY who were the reason for the commotion which caused Jaune to turn his attention away from the fight were trying to hold back their most physically powerful teammate from rushing at the judge of the fight who was casually sitting on the ground and watching the fight.

Unfortunately their efforts barely made any difference as Yang still moved forward while dragging the smaller members of her team on the ground. The only one who wasn't being dragged around by her was Blake who wisely decided that convincing her to stop was the better way of halting her.

"Don't do anything rash Yang. I don't know who do you think that sitting person over there is but if she truly is related to you then I'm sure she will come greet us as soon as she is able to." Blake said while standing right before Yang and blocking her from doing something dangerous or stupid.

Blake certainly didn't choose the best words to say in that situation because the moment she said that her partner exploded in even more rage.

"Don't block my way Blake! You don't know who that person is. I'm certain that if I don't make use of this occasion then she will just disappear again." Yang answered with a shout before lightly pushing Blake out of the way.

Or at least she tried pushing her partner as gently as she could in her state of mind. The result was Blake being thrown around two meters away and only stopping thanks to her own experience at combating inertia thanks to the proprieties of her semblance.

"Yang stop! You are going out of control!" Ruby shouted trying to contain her sister.

Ruby's words, just like her attempts at stopping Yang psychically, resulted in almost nothing at all. There was a momentary shake from Yang as she was processing the words of her own sister but it ended as quickly as it appeared.

It started to appear as if there would be nothing that could stop Yang's charge from happening when suddenly an unnaturally powerful gust of wind pushed the entire team RWBY backwards.

To the surprise of the leader of that team Yang was somehow included in it. It must have really been an incredibly powerful wind to push Yang back considering that the blond brawler could easily take direct hits from Grimm and still be standing.

All of them shook themselves off after getting back on their feet and Yang tried to walk forward again immediately after that. This time she wasn't acting as wildly as before though. Instead, she behaved more cautiously and her body language was showing more curiosity.

The rest of her team were looking at her with curiosity as well since they were almost as confused as she was. They didn't try to stop her this time because they also wanted to know what was going on.

The blond huntress in training slowly moved up to the place where the powerful gust of wind appeared earlier and tried to go forward.

Surprisingly, when she tried to take another step wind once again pushed her back. Although this time she was prepared for it and wasn't pushed as drastically as before. She tilted her head slightly to the side in confusion and extended one of her hands to reach the place where the powerful gusts of winds happened.

It didn't feel like some freaky local weather phenomenon as it's boundaries were way too abrupt for it to be the case. Now that she was touching it the wind before her seemed more like a wind barrier than gusts of winds that were pushing them back.

"What are all of you doing?" Somewhat familiar voice said calmly from behind the wind barrier, startling all of them.

They all looked towards the direction of that voice and saw a black haired huntsman in training slowly walking to them. It was Ren and it appeared that they were caught spying on them.

"Hehe. You see..." Ruby started awkwardly with a fake smile while scratching the back of her head and looking around with her eyes for any help she could find.

Their leader was clearly unprepared for this scenario.

"Are you guys also here to watch the shaman fight between Jauney and that Schnee guy?! Why are you staying so far though? Come closer, you will have a better view." Thankfully, Nora gave them a way out of the awkward situation they were in. Now they just needed to take it.

Ren sighed and shook his head slightly after he heard that. He didn't even notice when she arrived near him, he was certain that she was too busy watching the fight to come check what that previous shout was all about.

"Yes?" Ruby answered with a question, unsure what she was supposed to say.

In response to their question-like answer Ren simply sighed lightly and Nora raised her arms with cheer before grabbing Yang and Ruby by their hands and going towards the fight that was taking place at the moment.

Ren, Blake and Weiss shared a quick look of understanding between each other and then casually followed right behind them.

Their walk was quickly interrupted though when something inexplicably exploded right next to Ren. Every one of them besides Ren jumped away in surprise before raising their guards in case of the attack.

Unfortunately, team RWBY didn't have their weapons with them as they weren't expecting to fight when they sneaked out and calling their lockers would be too risky to do without even knowing who was their attacker.

The only one of the audience who was calm was Ren who instead of panicking or raising his guard merely looked at the judge of the fight with some confusion in silence.

Raven Branwen the judge of the current shaman fight was standing straight with her sword pointed at Ren and if one were to be spiritually aware then they would have also noticed that she was using one of her blades as medium for an Over Soul at the moment.

"I don't mind you being the audience but you should know better than to use your Over Soul near a shaman fight. We wouldn't want to disturb the fight by doing so, would we?" Raven said with a sneer while pointing at Ren's weapon with her sword.

"Of course." Ren answered in response before breaking his Over Soul and hiding his Storm Flower into the sleeve.

Team RWBY looked at him a bit weirdly after that exchange but he simply smiled and signaled for them to come with him and watch the fight in response. Fortunately, all of them understood and none of them protested.

"What was that about?" Yang asked with confusion as they reached the general area of the fight allowing them a clear view of it. She already calmed down enough to not charge at her mother at the moment though she still was going to have some questions for her after that fight was over.

"I just used something I shouldn't have in that scenario. I will explain later but for now let's watch the fight." Ren answered with a smile before pointing at the battle.

There they could see Jaune keeping his distance from Whitley while swiftly circling around him and the young Schnee holding his position and sometimes stabbing the ground or slashing the air before him. Most of the times when Whitley would do such a thing they would also see Jaune jumping away in some random direction with his guard raised up for some reason.

Of course he wasn't acting like that for no reason as every time Whitley would do any of these actions with his saber dozens of spiritual spikes or blades made out of some hard metal would manifest pointing at him.

It wasn't hard to figure out what exactly was the ability of his opponent's Over Soul when he was forced to dodge its attack from the beginning of the fight.

The ability to make and control metal made out of Furyoku certainly sounded like a handy power but he quite quickly realized some weaknesses that Whitley seemed to possess.

Firstly, the young Schnee's fighting style appeared to be notably stationary. Since the battle began he didn't see Whitley move from the spot he started even once, he was even more rooted to a place than Lyserg was during his second fight.

Secondly, Whitley's actions didn't suggest that his fighting skill improved in any way so he still had advantage on that front. It was highly likely that since entering the tournament his current opponent focused his training almost entirely on developing and enhancing his Over Soul.

Sure, he might not have the full experience and skill of Summer he had when they fought the last time with the spirit integration but he still was trained by her in direct combat to make sure he would be able to make the best use of his Over Soul's form.

Unfortunately, the more apparent weaknesses ended at these and the skill Whitley had at controlling his own Over Soul certainly made up for both of these shortcomings.

The white haired shaman's ability easily allowed him to take the lead in both offence and defense without worrying too much about the strain on Furyoku. If this was any other scenario he would have marveled at the capabilities of such a splendid shaman but sadly it was hard to do so when you were his opponent.

He frowned a little when his charge at Whitley was once again interrupted by a thick steel wall visible only to shamans appearing directly before him. Despite his not too shabby athletic abilities he still wasn't capable of jumping over it.

Just as he was about to halt before colliding with the metal wall a dozen of spear-like spikes extended from the wall, flying at him.

Using his Over Soul's ability to teleport seemed to be the only option for him now as dodging to the sides would be too slow and dodging backwards at best would make the spears pierce him a bit later.

A single practiced flick of the halberd was enough for him to be covered by the white cloak from his weapon allowing him to quickly relocate near Whitley without any issues.

His body turned into hundreds of rose petals as the petals that were falling near Whitley started to rapidly gather around one of them, signaling his reappearance.

"What was that?! He just disappeared into thin air like it was nothing! Was that magic?" Ruby shouted in surprise with stars of amazement present in her eyes.

While for other shamans Jaune's Over Soul might have looked quite ordinary or even obvious, for the people who were unable to interact with the spiritual side of the world it looked unnatural and even freaky.

"I know right, Jauney's Over Soul looks so weird. It's just like he is there and then poof and he's gone." Nora answered just as amazed as her younger friend. No matter how many times she saw her friend doing it she always found it entertaining to watch.

Of course if anyone were to ask her what was the best power then she would always claim that Ren's Over Soul was the best.

In the time it took the audience of the fight to say these two things Jaune had already managed to reappear and deliver a quick slash towards Whitley, forcing his opponent to move from his position by doing so.

In most of the fights after such a thing happened he would have been able to take a short breather thanks to the surprise of opponent after being attacked so suddenly.

Unfortunately, it wasn't the case here as just Whitley away from his swing and noticed that he was slightly vulnerable to attacks the young Schnee rushed at him with his saber at the ready to capitalize on his moment of weakness.

"At least give me some break." He complained a little before spinning his halberd widely to intercept Whitley's sword in the middle of his strike.

Luckily, he hit Whitley's saber in the middle of his thrust without any issues, making the target of that attack be the ground instead of him.

Unfortunately he knew what that would mean so the moment he saw that Whitley wasn't trying to stop himself from stabbing his weapon into the earth under them he jumped back to avoid possibly being impaled by dozens of blades suddenly erupting from under him.

Weiss Schnee who was watching all of this happen scoffed slightly as she wasn't impressed by what she was seeing at all. It looked like a fight of some eight graders trying to look cool and not like something she should have been wasting her time on.

"Magic? Over Soul? What are you two talking about? That teleport trick you saw earlier was most likely just Jaune's semblance. There's nothing interesting to see here, let's just go back." She said with some anger and a scoff earning a raised eyebrow from Ren.

Ren wasn't the only one who reacted with some confusion at Weiss's statement as when Blake heard that she frowned a little after remembering the time the blond shaman helped her with the White Fang case.

"I don't think that's the case Weiss. As far as I'm aware Jaune doesn't even have his Aura unlocked, let alone have a semblance." The black haired faunus said while thinking about something.

"Then it's some hidden trick that uses Dust. I don't know. It's not important anyway. Watching this is stupid, at least you agree with me right Yang?" Blake's point didn't seem to matter much to Weiss though as she answered while raising her arms in exasperation and sighing in response.

If the white haired beauty expected an answer from her teammate then she would be disappointed because Yang was wholeheartedly focused on the fight that was currently happening before them.

Her stare was deep, obsessed even. There wasn't a second she was looking at anything else beside Jaune at the moment. If she stared just a little bit harder or her eyes were red then they would have thought that she would charge at another person that night.

She wasn't angry or emotional though. Curious would have been a way better word to describe her as she looked at the blond shaman with the face of a person who had an incredibly important question to ask but didn't know how to word it.

Her mind was going a mile a minute as she remembered the exact movements the boy who scolded her earlier was now using. She fought with him before so she was somewhat aware how he fought but after seeing all of it from the side she couldn't help but think that this fighting style looked weirdly familiar.

Ruby might have not remembered because she was too young back then but after seeing that spin the blond shaman just did she was certain of it.

Jaune fought in the exact same way Summer had. It was so similar that she knew what would be his next move by simply remembering the few times she was able to watch her mother spar with uncle Qrow or her father.

She didn't know what was going on with that hidden tournament they were now watching or why both of her mothers seemed to be involved in it but she knew she would have to get to the bottom of this. Even if it meant forgoing her chance at Beacon to do so.

"Yang!" Ruby loudly shouted right next to her ear to get her attention and startled her by doing so.

"Ah! Why did you have to shout so loudly to my ear!? I can hear you normally." Yang said while quickly turning her head at her younger sister.

"I tried! We've called you dozens of times already!" Ruby answered just as loudly as earlier before asking with concern in her voice. "Are you sure you are alright?"

Yang didn't answer that question at first because she still was a little lost in her thoughts. Although this time it was for a different reason. Was the way she was acting really so concerning that her own sister had to ask how she felt twice?

"Yeah, I'm sure. It's just..." What Yang wanted to say at the moment would most likely never be known to Ruby as her sister stopped herself from explaining with a tired huff before changing the topic. "Let's get back to watching the fight, alright? It looks way more interesting than I thought it would be."

After hearing her sister's dismissal of the issue, Ruby decided to go along with Yang's idea if only to not pressure her into anything. She then shot a single concerned look to her sister before going back to watching the fight, completely ignoring whatever complaints her partner was spewing while doing so.

On the battleground of the fight Jaune was steadily approaching Whitley in hopes of finding an occasion to strike while swiftly dodging between every single blade or spike his opponent was launching to stop him.

While it might not have been the easiest attack he had the chance to avoid in his entire career as a shaman it certainly didn't even come close to one of the hardest attacks to avoid he has ever seen.

The main reason for that was because Whitley's attacks were surprisingly predictable for how vast his foe's Over Soul's capabilities seemed to be.

Whenever Whitley stabbed the ground he knew that spikes were about to erupt from the earth around him so he could easily move in accordance to that or whenever the young Schnee swung his saber a giant steel blade would be formed in the direction of the swing giving him more than enough time to react.

To put it simply, all of Whitley's attacks were clearly telegraphed.

Of course the white haired shaman tried to hide his attacks or make them more unpredictable by extending the blades from the sides of the spikes to catch him off-guard but compared to how his previous opponent could change the direction and the angle of their attack in a fraction of a second, all of it just looked sloppy.

None of these things was the reason he struggled with the fight though.

The thing that was giving him the most difficulties was the sheer strength of Whitley's Over Soul. No matter how much strength he used or at what point during the creation of the steel he tried to stop it, nothing seemed to be able to break that metal.

That's why he hadn't attacked Whitley that much yet. If he were to be too aggressive without being able to actually deal the finishing blow then Whitley for sure would realize that his best bet would be on staying on the defensive and covering himself with the steel from his Over Soul to stall him out.

He couldn't allow that to happen if he wanted to win the fight.

A quiet grunt escaped his mouth as he jumped over a few blades that were extending at him from the side before landing on the their flat sides and jumping off of them to propel himself forward.

He wasn't expecting much from this attempt so when he noticed that Whitley was already creating a small forest of metal spikes before him, he wasn't too upset about it. A single use of his Over Soul would get him away from any danger it could cause him anyway.

After using his cloak to disappear with a flurry of petals, he almost immediately reappeared a few steps behind Whitley. He didn't even try to use this opportunity to attack though as Whitley could easily just move out of the way of his charge after hearing his dash from behind.

That fight was slowly starting to annoy him.

"You know after seeing you use your Over Soul to teleport, I expected you to fight a bit more proactively than this. I recommend you do something about it because if you don't then there's no way for you to win this fight!" Whitley said with a mocking tone before slashing the air with his saber to launch a bunch of long metal blades at him.

It was another easy to dodge attack. The pattern of the extending blades was simple and straightforward. He was pretty sure he wouldn't even need to use his Over Soul to avoid it.

A single dash to the side was enough for him to dodge the initial attack aimed at him and when another set of spikes erupted from the flat sides of the blades to fly directly at him the only thing he had to do in order to dodge it was to jump forward. It really wasn't that hard to stay unharmed while fighting against Whitley.

Unfortunately, by now his opponent was already aware that attacks like these wouldn't work against him so the moment he jumped out of the spikes' way, Whitley stabbed the ground to create a small field of metal spears on the ground to pierce through him when he landed.

He clicked his tongue in annoyance as he noticed metal quickly erupting from the ground under him.

Covering himself with the cloak from his Over Soul, he disappeared just as he was about to hit the trap that lay on the ground. At this point with all of his training he was capable of using his Over Soul to teleport in a matter of seconds so using it during a jump and before touching the ground wasn't that difficult for him.

After reappearing to Whitley's left, he tried to rush at his opponent if only to put some pressure on him although he didn't hope he would be able to actually do much damage to the young Schnee with it.

Predictably, a giant metal blade was quickly raised from the ground right before him after he merely made a single step in Whitley's direction. At least this time there weren't any spikes flying at him from it.

He reflexively jumped back in case there was another attack aimed at him using that obstruction as a disguise.

Another of his attempts at a direct confrontation was stopped just like that. He didn't think much about it earlier because he was too focused on the fight but that shaman fight must really look boring for the audience that was watching them which grew quite a bit when he wasn't looking with the entirety of team RWBY appearing to watch his fight.

Meanwhile almost the entirety of the audience were observing the fight between Jaune and Whitley with their breaths held while quietly trying to predict what would happen in a few seconds.

Jaune wasn't entirely wrong with his assessment though as a certain white haired huntress in training who was watching the fight had been tired of watching that charade and had a few thoughts of going there ending that farce herself.

Why is he just jumping away for no reason? Just go there and smack him! He doesn't have any Aura anyway. Weiss thought to herself while holding her head with a tired expression on her face.

She didn't have the best time at the moment. It was already way past midnight and she still had a test in a few days she had to study for. There was simply no point in staying here and watching those two idiots pretending to have a fight.

The fact that one of those idiots was her brother didn't change anything!

Unfortunately, none of her teammates seemed to think about it in the same way she did. They instead saw a cool fight between some secret people with unnatural powers or were captivated with the fighting style of a wanderer with no formal training for some reason.

"I don't know about you guys but I'm going back to the dorm." She started saying while turning around towards the Beacon, unaware that she got the attention of her brother who was currently in the middle of the fight.

The moment Whitley heard that he completely looked away from his opponent to see what his sister was about to say. Unfortunately, he already had his suspicions about what she was going to say.

Jaune noticed that but he decided against using that one occasion to strike. There was no point in winning the fight against an opponent who was preoccupied with something more important.

"From what I see, it's just my brother living out another one of his crazy delusions while the others here are simply playing along to not offend him. Just make sure nobody's hurt too badly after this, alright?" She continued with a wave of her hand without even looking at her brother while saying so, completely dismissing what was happening behind her.

Whitley tightened his fists in rage, drawing some blood from the one he was holding his saber with because of that. He gritted his teeth and looked towards his leaving sister before moving his sword back to prepare for a slash.

He didn't know what he expected from Weiss and it was his fault for not being prepared to hear these words. Normally he wouldn't have minded what his sister said too much because he was rather used to it by now with his own father always insisting that the rest of family didn't treat him like they were related but hearing it in one of the most important moments of his life hurt differently.

In a couple of years or maybe even months he knew he would regret that decision but at the moment he was already too committed to his choice to stop himself from doing it.

With a single practiced slash he used his Over Soul ability to send a barrage of metal blades to fly at his own sister. This wasn't a powerful or impressive attack and if it was aimed at a shaman or even at an ordinary person capable of seeing spiritual energy then it would have been easily dodged or parried.

Unfortunately, it was aimed at Weiss.

The moment Jaune saw what Whitley was about to do he knew that he had to stop it. While he agreed that his opponent had every right to be angry it didn't grant him the justification to harm innocent people unrelated to the tournament.

Sadly, he knew he wouldn't be able to prevent Whitley from launching the attack itself but thankfully there still was a possibility of blocking it before it hit Weiss.

He quickly covered himself with a cloak from his Over Soul to teleport near the white haired huntress in training to stand between her and the attack that was flying at her.

The moment he appeared near them he noticed with a corner of his eye that Ren was also trying to protect Weiss by trying to move her out of the way. He quickly nodded to him in acknowledgment before turning towards the blades of metal flying at them.

His battle instincts he got thanks to Summer cried for him to dodge out of the way but he knew he couldn't do that with a person behind him that he wanted to protect. He turned his halberd sideways and slightly raised it up to his chest to cover the most area that could be hit by the attack.

He bent his knees to get the better footing and leaned slightly forward to meet the attack a bit earlier. Thankfully, Weiss was small enough that he didn't have to stand straight to cover her entirely.

Not even a second has passed since he got into a guarding position when a force of the attack came crashing at him. It wasn't the first attack he had to block but it was the first one where he had to stand his ground so the force he had felt back then couldn't compare to what he felt now.

It felt as if his hands could break at any moment from the pressure that was on the halberd but it wasn't the worst part of it. Despite his best efforts there still were a few blades that went past his halberd.

Dozens of cuts suddenly appeared on his body as metal blades cut his arms and legs while he was holding his ground. He felt a sudden deep pain on one of his shoulders and when he took a glance at it he saw a long blade stabbed into it. It seemed that dodging all of Whitley's attacks up until now had been a good choice.

"What was that?!" Ruby screamed as she saw Jaune suddenly start to bleed from cut wounds right next to her.

Normally he would have answered in some way or at least tried to joke about it to ease the tension but checking on Weiss was a bit more important at the moment.

He slowly turned his head to see if the person behind him suffered any damage from the previous attack. Luckily, the only injury he saw on Weiss was a single small cut wound on her neck.

While the cut was in a dangerous place, it didn't appear to be life-threatening. In fact it looked so small that it probably wouldn't even leave a scar. He was more concerned about the fact that Weiss didn't even turn around to see what was the reason for her injury.

He took a breath in relief that everything seemed fine before turning towards Whitley with a serious expression on his face.

"I know I shouldn't butt into your life but I think that you went too far." He said while ignoring all the looks the people from the audience were giving him before making a simple spin with his halberd to grip it in a comfortable position and get ready for a fight.

He didn't care about finding the perfect occasion to win the fight anymore.

Right now it was his time to be on the offensive.

And... Cut!

Yup, Jaune vs Whitley fight is going to be my first multiple chapter fight. At first I wanted to do 1 longer chapter but then realized that this place is perfect for a chapter end so it kinda just happened.

See ya later!
