SOULS Lost and Found

Healer

Please, I repeat, PLEASE, do not kill me, at least not yet

I promise I've been trying to get back on track with "TW", "NPL", "LTC" and most of all "Bella McLeod"(Which as you may or may not know, I've been going through the process of revising and re editing at least one chapter per month for the last year), However if my muse keeps nagging me about other fandoms, I certainly have to give her free 'speech' (so to speak) in order to be able to get things done. Right?

So, after that small rant, on with the official Disclaimers… This is a "Once Upon a Time" fic, and it is a femlash, featuring a semi slow burn SwanQueen... So, if you don't like the idea of two women being in love with each other (and being completely oblivious for a while about how their love is not one sided), and eventually entering into a relationship with one another, please head somewhere else.

This is also a sequel of sorts to my first SwanQueen fic "Fire Soul Bird in Love", only a few years later and with Emma not recalling the full events on that. But Regina does, even when this is told from Emma's POV.

It is also based on the film "Heart and Souls", with Robert Downey Jr, loved him there, and he was sooooo young!

Bare in mind that I do not own Once Upon a Time or Heart And Souls, nor its characters, I repeat, THEY'RE NOT MINE. And I am only writing this because I thought it would be hilarious to watch Emma coping with the madness of ghosts added to her regular crazy.

This story is set in S04E20 and part of S04E21. While Regina and Emma look for Lily and then when they head to NY to save Robin from Zelena posing as Marion.

SOULS Lost and Found

Chapter 02

Healer

"So this guy takes them to heaven in a bus?" asked Regina in a mocking tone as we were flipping through the phone book, letting Milo look for whatever it was that was going to help with his unfinished business

"Go figure" I told her smirking, to which she nudged playfully at me

"Marco! Here he is" said Milo excited pointing at a page on the one in front of Regina "The bastard still's alive, still living at the same address. Ok. Let's go"

"Wait wait wait! What? Where?" I asked him as we rose, Regina oddly rising with me "What are you getting me into here?"

"Ok, I stole a lot of things in my life, but just from rich people" started Milo, which I knew, he was the one who had taught me how to pick locks and pickpocket to survive when I was not on a home "but this one time, I went too far. I was doing this job for a guy and he wanted to buy these stamps from a ten year old boy"

"Stamps? This is about postage stamps?" I asked increduly

"Excuse me, the 1930 Air Mail Zeppelin stamp, full sheet" defended Milo

"That's gotta worth today, $100,000" explained Harrison

"A Hundred thousand dollars?" I asked then surprised "Ok, so what about these expensive stamps?"

"So… uh… anyway. The kid won't sell them, so the guy has me go back… and steal 'em" said Milo shrugging "Lowest thing I ever did. Once I gave them back I was gonna go straight, but next thing I know I'm dead. I'm a bad guy forever"

I mulled over it. If this was his unfinished business, who was I to stop him from getting a chance at redemption, everyone in Storybrook got at least 3 chances by now. "Let's go then. Let's not let you be the bad guy forever" I told him. And as we walked I explained to Regina what was going on, glad at that moment to have someone to count on and to help me out with whatever crazy this was. Even when it meant taking more time to save her soulmate.

We ended up in front of a 4 story house and let Milo go poke around the house as far as our connection let him wander away, all while Regina and I had a short phone call with Henry and my parents

"He's coming back" said Julia "He looks happy"

"Ok, we have to go Henry" I told him on the speaker

"Bye Henry" said Regina in turn "Talk to you soon"

"Bye moms" said Henry ending the call the moment Milo came out from the house

"I found 'em. He's still got 'em" he said grinning "Let's go"

"Are you sure you alright with me doing this?" I asked Regina

"Oh, don't hold back on my account dear" she said jokingly "I know it is not the first time you break and enter into private property"

"Oh, but it will be the first time that the Mayor of Storybrook condones of this action" I said back "If I get caught, I could go to jail" I added

"Let's just get this over so we can get going" she said walking slightly away towards the sidewalk

"We're not gonna get caught. I'm a professional." assured me Milo "Now Marco's upstairs taking a shower. Gives us 5 minutes, we're in, we're out. Piece of cake"

"You know, are you sure this is it? This is what you want to finish?" I asked him "Are you sure this even matters?"

"Emma, I got to set it right" argued Milo "Even if it doesn't matter to the kid I stole them from, it matters to me"

"Ok, but if you are going to get control of my body, you have to behave" I admonished

"Ok" he conceded smirking triumphantly

"And be careful" I added coming closer to me

"Emma… I want your body" he said smiling

"It's not funny" I told him, even though I chuckled "Just get in and get over with it"

"Where is the little girl I had so much fun?" he asked me right before stepping into my body and taking full control "God, the woman's tense" he told the other while wiggling my full body in order to get used to it. After a moment he took out the pick locking tools from my leather jacket and got to work. The others watching us work. It was a surreal experience, not being in control of my body but being aware of every sensation at the same time.

We easily got in and once Julia told us that the coast was clear, we approached the case where the stamps were. We were heading out when an angry looking barking dog stopped us at the door. We ended up at Marco's bedroom the moment he came out from his shower

"What the hell!" yelled Marco getting a coal poker from the chimney ready to attack us. Milo threw him a lamp completely missing him "Who the hell do you think you are?"

"Hey, watch out. Watch out!" said Julia worried for my safety, to which I agreed. I know Milo had taught me some basic defense when I was a kid, so he could hold himself, but he had not been corporeal in 30+ years, and he refused to give me control back, so I didn't fight him on that in fear of us being hurt due to not pay attention to the threat in front of us

"Not this time Marco" said Milo once he disarmed our attacker

"Who are you?" asked Marco mildly scared

"It's Milo. Remember me?"

"Milo? No, that guy's dead"

"Well, not at the moment" said Milo hitting Marco on the head with enough force to make him fall down "Stealing form a kid? You ought to be ashamed of yourself"

"Milo!" admonished Penny. The moment Milo looked at her, we realized the dog had found his way into the room and was ready to attack us. So Milo ran towards the window and we escaped through the ledge, rounding the house, ready to jump to the next house ceiling as he had done so years ago, only to find out that there was no house next door anymore.

"Is this the way professionals do it?" asked Penny upset "Because I have never met a professional who has fouled up this big"

"You didn't see a dog!" yelled Julia "You didn't check for a dog!"

"Don't yell at the man on a ledge" tried Harrison

"Come on don't be so upset" said Milo "I'll just do a little acrobatic type thing"

I begged him to give me back control, but he refused and as a result we ended up on the bushes, next to an amused Regina.

"You alright there Ms Swan?" she asked me chuckling, giving me a hand to stand

"I would kill you if you weren't already dead" I told Milo

"I hope that is not the way you handle things when you are committing a felony Ms Swan" said Regina still amused

"I'll have you know that contrary to what this clown made me look like, I am indeed a professional Madame Mayor" I told her as we all walked away and headed to our next destination, to give back the damn stamps

"Go get your deadtrap" said Regina as we passed through a coffee shop. "I'll meet you around the corner with coffee and a pastry" she said before I could argue. I smiled thankful for the offer.

"Milo, let's try not to kill me until everyone else has had a chance ok?" I asked upset by the lack of remorse he showed at how bad it went back there

"We got the stamps, we didn't get caught. Your lady looks like she is ready for you to make the moves on her…" I froze at the last sentence

"Don't you dare!" I said "she has a soulmate, remember?" I growled and kept walking towards the car

"Excuse me ma'am" said an officer in front of the car

"Is there a problem officer?" I asked concerned about what he might want

"I would say so, doesn't seem to be your day" he answered "You're parked next to a fire hydrant" I smiled relieved as the others chuckled at the absurdity of it

"Is that all?" I asked nonchalantly

"It would be" started the officer "Except for the $6,500 you have in outstanding parking tickets around the country, $2,600 just here in Boston"

"You see, you get in trouble without me too" said Milo from behind me

"Shut up" I told him forgetting that only I could see or hear him

"What?" asked upset the officer. And faster than I could process, my bug was being towed, again, and I was being detained and drove to the nearest commissary

"Milo, if it weren't for you, I would never have rode on one of this" I heard Harrison say

"You see? Something good comes out of everything" replied Milo as we passed Regina who dropped her purchase on the street upon seeing me and the bug being drove away.

"That's $2,600 for the tickets here, a total country wise of $6,500. Now with interest and penalty fees, comes to $9,328" said the officer I got assigned to. Regina sitting next to me.

"How much interest is that?" I asked upset "Almost 50%?"

"43%" Supplied Regina knowingly "Don't argue dear, just say thank you Sergeant"

I sighed defeated "Thank you Sergeant"

"And thank you for shopping with us" said the Sergeant smirking at Regina

"I'm sorry about this." Added Regina smiling charmingly at him "Where do we sign to have it paid?" she asked taking out her own card

"No, Regina I can't let you…" I couldn't finish my sentence because then she glared daggers at me, prompting me to shut my mouth.

"Just say thank you Madame Mayor" teased me Julia

"Shall we dear?" asked me Regina once she signed everything off. I nodded and followed her.

"Sorry" I told her softly once we climbed the bug

"I think we can still try to make it out of Boston and head to New York today" she said sighing. "Let's give those stamps back and then get something to eat"

"We could try hit a BnB on the way" I offered

"We might. I bet you are famished, you have not eaten anything since breakfast" said Regina, concern in her voice again, making me smile at her.

"Have you told Maleficent about Lily?" I asked her

"Not sure it is news one should receive via phone call" she told me, and I hummed in agreement.

I knocked on the apartment door the directory showed right after placing the stamps on the floor mat and dashed to hide at the corner of the hallway next to Regina, waiting to see if Milo's kid, now a grown up, would recognize the lost stamps.

"God, I hope it's the right guy" I said in anticipation

"How many Duane Dortmuellers could there be?" whispered Regina next to me making me smile.

"Yeah?" I heard the male's voice as he opened his door

"It's him" said Milo excited "Look down! Look Down for God's sake" I heard Milo beg.

I knew he did the moment I heard him call for his wife "Honey! Look at this! It's the stamps!" he said excitedly before closing the door. I could hear the others excited chatter and clapping at the success. Regina took my hand and squeezed it briefly, smiling at me, before letting go and walking out from our hiding spot.

"Let's get something to eat" she said over her shoulder "There was a dinner close to where we were yesterday before you lost control of your dead trap, and it is on the way to the highway out of here"

"That was great!" said Milo as we were walking out of the apartment building "Wasn't it great? I'd say it was great"

"That was great" agreed Harrison

"He looked so happy" added Julia

"This is gonna work! We can do this!" said Penny excited.

"You did a good thing, not because you're the Savior, but because you're you" said Regina as we walked down the street side by side, while my four friends started to sing and dance THE song I had come to enjoy the most as a child when they were around. In my mind I joined the girls in the 'oh way oh' part of the lyrics.

I smiled at them and looked at Regina before slightly and subtly joining them in our made up choreography as we walked back to the bug. I hesitated only a moment before I joined in what we had deemed years ago, the most important part to the song… "Walk like an Egyptiaaaaaaaan" I sang and full out dance with them, briefly catching Regina's eyes smiling amused at my antics, even when she could not see my friends joining me in our impromptu performance. We were about to start the last part of the song when I saw the 'ghost bus' coming through the buildings on our left, making us all stop on our tracks. "Oh my God!" I said as it parked on the street next to where we were standing

"I need one of you now" said the bus driver, making us look at Milo

"What is it Emma?" asked me Regina immediately noticing the change

"The bus, it's here" I told her not daring to look away from the damn thing

"Hello?" Prompted the bus driver

"Guess we thinking about me huh?" asked Milo before sighing in resignation

"Hey, we had fun huh?" asked Julia taking Milo's hand

"Yeah" he said smiling and taking her into a hug "Bugging you is what kept me going all these years" then he turned to Penny "You're the best mom I ever knew. You go find your kids, Ok?"

"Oh Milo" said Penny before hugging Milo herself "Milo, try not to…" she drifted as she stepped out of the embrace

"What?" he asked her

"All of the above" she answered making us chuckle

"Hope you meet a good looking angel up there" said Harrison shaking Milo's hand

"Good luck" I told him when he focused on me "I mean… yeah, this is strange. Even more so than my regular strange"

"I know" he said chuckling as the bus driver cleared his throat "Listen, listen to this…" started Milo trying to bargain with the driver "Why don't you come back when we're all done and you can take us all at once. Save you a lot of mileage"

"Hey, look pal" said the driver "I've already bought you every second I could, but a new life is being created and it needs a soul, now!" and with that he magically pulled Milo into the bus "You try to be a nice guy" said the driver "I'll be back for you guys soon" he said as he went to close the door to the bus

"Wait!" I reached out almost falling through the bus itself if it weren't for Regina steadying me "Thanks" I told her before focusing on the driver again, who was looking impatiently at me. "This… whatever this is that is happening, is it some sort of magic?" I asked him then, thinking that if it was so, then maybe there was another way to help them out

"You could say so" he said "But not the type of Magic you or the Queen have or even know… yet." and with that he closed the door and prepared to drive away

"Hey ugly duckling" called me Milo through the window, recalling that old dreaded nickname he came up due to my last name "You really came through for me back there, that meant a lot to me" he said about to cry

"Hey Milo" I said as I slightly ran next to the bus

"What?" he asked then, and I mimicked our shooting game before putting my guns back in their imaginary holster. With that, the bus faded out of view.

A/N: So, I had to do a little math for this one. Allow to explain my logic for choosing the song I 'chose'

On the movie, the song used is "Walk Like a Man", which was famous and at the top in 1966. The movie itself was released in 1993. And the main character, Thomas, is 30 years old then. So that means he was born in 1963.

Now, OUaT started in 2011, we know Emma turned 28 on the pilot, so that means she was 'born' in 1983.

By that, my mind said that if Thomas was born in 1963, and a 1966 song was used in the movie, then I had to chose a song from 1986...br /

My two top choices were "Walk like and Egyptian" and "You give love a bad name"... though I could clearly see Emma singing at the top of her lungs 'shoooot through the heart... and you're to blaaaame..." I figured it would be more amusing for Regina to see a careless Emma dancing like and Egyptian than a 'rocker'.
