Please, I repeat, PLEASE, do not kill me, at least not yet
I promise I've been trying to get back on track with "TW", "NPL", "LTC" and most of all "Bella McLeod"(Which as you may or may not know, I've been going through the process of revising and re editing at least one chapter per month for the last year), However if my muse keeps nagging me about other fandoms, I certainly have to give her free 'speech' (so to speak) in order to be able to get things done. Right?
So, after that small rant, on with the official Disclaimers… This is a "Once Upon a Time" fic, and it is a femlash, featuring a semi slow burn SwanQueen... So, if you don't like the idea of two women being in love with each other (and being completely oblivious for a while about how their love is not one sided), and eventually entering into a relationship with one another, please head somewhere else.
This is also a sequel of sorts to my first SwanQueen fic "Fire Soul Bird in Love", only a few years later and with Emma not recalling the full events on that. But Regina does, even when this is told from Emma's POV.
It is also based on the film "Heart and Souls", with Robert Downey Jr, loved him there, and he was sooooo young!
Bare in mind that I do not own Once Upon a Time or Heart And Souls, nor its characters, I repeat, THEY'RE NOT MINE. And I am only writing this because I thought it would be hilarious to watch Emma coping with the madness of ghosts added to her regular crazy.
This story is set in S04E20 and part of S04E21. While Regina and Emma look for Lily and then when they head to NY to save Robin from Zelena posing as Marion.

Chapter 05
Healer
It was close to sunrise when we made it to New York
"I'm sorry we did not get to stop at John's farm" I told Julia as the four of us climbed off the car.
"It's ok Emma. I know how much keeping him safe means to you. How much SHE means to you" she said in consideration making me smile sadly at the truth behind that. I just wanted Regina to be happy
"Robin! Open up!" called Regina as she knocked on the door of what had been Neal's apartment
"Regina?" he asked surprised at seeing her "What are you doing here?"
"I missed you" said Regina embracing Robin in a tight hug. I sighed and swallowed the knot in my throat. It always hurts.
"And I you, but…what's going on? Why are you here?" he asked breaking the hug
"We will explain everything, but first, where's Marion?" asked Regina
"She's at the store, why?"
"Good. Then there's time" I said stepping in, followed by Lily and Julia
"But we have to act fast" added Regina "We have to leave before she gets back. She is not who she says she is"
"What?" asked Robin utterly confused
"She's… she's my sister… Zelena" finally answered Regina
"The Wicked Witch? But she's dead! We all saw that" said Robin in disbelief
"Somehow she tricked us and went back in time" I offered
"Robin… she killed Marian" Said Regina sadly "She took her place to get back at me"
"No, this is madness"
"Yeah, welcome to the club" said Lily dryly joking as Marian came back
"Robin, what's going on? And what is she doing here?" she asked pointing accusingly at Regina
"It's over Zelena, I told him everything" said Regina facing her sister
"What you talking about?" asked Marion innocently "Who's Zelena?"
"Regina, you're scaring Marian. And myself. Look I know that this is hard, but this is the reality now" said Robin "I'm with her, I'm with Marion"
The hurt look on Regina's eyes prompted me to action "Where's the magic?!" I demanded stepping towards Marion "How are you making this glamour work? Show us or I will rip you apart until I find it"
"My my, so it is true. The Savior is going dark" she said mockingly, with that startling Robin, making me smirk knowing she had now revealed herself
"Marion?" asked Robin turning to look at her
"Actually…no" she said as the glamour ended and revealed Zelena "Hello dear husband" she cooed.
"No" said Robin at the realization
"What the hell was that?" asked Lily from the door frame
"Magic" I told her simply over my shoulder
"Come on Robin" begged Regina "Go get Roland and let's go"
"I think he still wants to stay" said Zelena mockingly when Robin didn't even move away
"Robin, what are you doing? Get your son and let's go" Urged Regina, desperate to prompt Robin into action
"I can't" he said after a moment of staring into Regina's eyes
"Yes you can" urged Regina "Just come with me. Let's go"
"I'm sorry, I can't leave her here" said Robin looking ashamed
"What? Why?" asked Regina desperately
"Do you want to tell her, or should I?" Asked Zelena still mocking Regina
"Tell me what?... Robin?"
"She's pregnant" finally said Robin, making us all gasp
Regina and Robin ended up going out of the apartment to chat in private and decide what to do.
"You're staring at a door" pointed out Lily, long after they had left.
I sighed turning back my attention around the place "I can't believe this has survived all this long" I said walking around the apartment
"This place was yours?" asked me Lily truly curious
I shook my head "His name was Neal. He was… a lot of things. Now he's just gone, thanks to her" I said gesturing towards Zelena, surprising me when she gasped
"Sorry" she said smiling truly happily "I think I just felt a kick" then after a moment her face went back to her annoying antagonic one "You wouldn't want to rattle an expectant mother now, would you?"
Before I could answer Regina and Robin came back "Everyone, pack up" she ordered "You too" she told Zelena "We're going back to Storybrook"
"It's going to be a tight fit in the bug" I muttered
"Emma…" called me Julia, making me sigh again.
"I still have to stop on the way back" I told Regina, who looked at me for a moment before nodding.
"Ok. Ms Swan and I will head out now to attend to a previous engagement. We will come back and get you all. Ms Paige, please make sure my sister does nothing stupid" added Regina glaring at Zelena "We leave for Storybrook tonight"
"Are you sure you don't rather be the one watching over Zelena?" I asked her when we were outside the apartment building.
"Positive" she told me smiling softly
"What's the plan then?" I asked her as we walked towards the bug "For Storybrook I mean. You figure things out with Robin?"
"You could say so. I'll tell you later all about it" she said as I turned on the engine "For now let's focus on helping the last of your misfit of ghosts before it's too late"
We drove to John's farm, and once close by I parked the bug and let Julia take over my body to write a letter for him
"You think it's ok?" asked me Julia as she left my body
"Yeah, looks good" I told him
"Perhaps you should stay longer and give Ms Swan lessons in penmanship" teased Regina making me chuckle "He'll believe it?" she asked then
"He'll recognize her handwriting, right?" I asked, to which Julia nodded "Let's go" I said as I put the letter inside an envelope "What?" I asked when she made no move to get on the bug
"He's probably got a wife and kids, and grand kids. I don't wanna cause any problem" she said sadly
"Oh come on" I tried "He'd still want to know that you cared about him. He'd wanna know that you loved him"
"What if he's forgotten all about me?" she asked finally looking up at me
I scoffed "Julia, no one can forget about you" I said and she finally got inside the bug too. "Ok, here's what we'll do" I told Regina and Julia "I'll tell him that after the bus accident Julia's stuff got mixed up with my mom's stuff at the hospital, and we" I added gesturing to Regina and myself "just happened to find this letter"
"What?" asked Julia
"He'll buy it" said Regina "We can be very convincing"
As I turned on the engine and prepared to drive the few miles that were left to John's farm house, the bus appeared next to us. "Oh Shit!" I cursed as I drove away as fast as the bug let me
"What the hell Ms Swan!" reprimanded me Regina
"The bus just came back" I said simply, hoping we could outrun it only to realize how futile it was when I saw the bus parked in front of John's house blocking the path for us.
"I do you a favor and you run from me like rabbits" said the bus driver
"Just give us five minutes" I begged
"No! It's time now" he said back
"Just five minutes!" I said rising my voice
"The big clock says it's time now" he retorted approaching Julia
"You take her over my dead body" I said standing in between the two of them
"I got the bus right here, I can take you too" he said confidently
"Don't man! We're talking about right and wrong here!" I told hoping to make a point, noticing that Regina had slipped away and was knocking on the door to John's farm house "You got eternity on your hands, I'm just asking for five lousy minutes"
"I don't have the authority" he said "I can't change anything"
"Be creative. Stall" I said as a man opened the door.
"Can I help you?" He asked looking between Regina and myself
"My name's Emma Swan" I started "And this is Regina Mills" I said as I pointed to Regina, who nodded in acknowledgment "I have a personal letter for John McBride" I said holding up the letter for him to see
"Ohhh. I bought this place from him seven years ago" said the man
"Do you know where he is now?" asked Regina
"Sorry I have to say it, but he died soon after he sold it to me" was the answered we received
"Are you sure?" I asked feeling overwhelmed
"Oh yeah, I am sure about that" he said confidently as it started to rain "He wasn't well. Guess things were kinda rough on him. This place was actually falling apart when I got it." Julia walked away and I followed her, leaving Regina to wrap up the conversation with this man. I half heard him tell her he moved out to an apartment in the city and that was where he was found.
"Thank you for your time" said Regina coming to my side but I was angry at this. At looking at Julia falling apart because of this, so I took my anger up on the bus driver
"Hey! What is this crap?!" I yelled at him, startling him through the rain and thunder
"What?" he asked
"It didn't work! She can't fix it! She can't fix anything!" I yelled
"Come on" he said nonchalantly "It always works"
"NOOOOOO!" I yelled back
"Ms Swan" I heard Regina call for me but I ignored her
"The guy's dead!" I yelled throwing out Julia's letter at the bus driver "He's been dead for years!"
"But that… that can't be" said the bus driver apparently confused himself
"Ms Swan" tried Regina again
"What do you mean it can't be?!" I asked annoyed, still ignoring Regina
"Maybe she had the wrong guy" offered the driver
"It's not the wrong guy you idiot! How can it be the wrong guy you moron! " I yelled back "You think she doesn't know who her heart belonged to?!"
"Emma" I heard Julia calmly calling for me, as I turned, I saw her standing right next to Regina, who was dripping water head to toe due to the rain "It's you" said Julia when she noticed I was focused on her
"What's me?" I asked her coming closer to her, noticing that the rain was stopping then
"You and Regina" answered Julia "That's what I'm supposed to do"
"Me and…?" I asked her disbelieving
"I made the same mistake with John that you're making with Regina" she said walking the final steps to stand next to me. I looked briefly at Regina who had a weird expression on her face "I pushed him away, I kept him at arm's length, until he finally left. Couldn't wait anymore for me"
"It's not the same" I told her
"You're right, it's not" she told me "You got the chance to fix it"
"No Julia, this isn't about me" I tried
"Yes it is" she rebutted "I've watched you all these years" she said smiling fondly at me "You've no idea how painful it's been to know who you really are, who you really love, and watch you keep it hidden from people. Especially from her" she said glancing at Regina, who now somehow had tears in her eyes
"I don't hide" I told them "I protect myself. I'm cautious"
"You're so afraid of being hurt, you're gonna end up all alone" said Julia softly "It doesn't matter if she says yes or no" she added standing between Regina and myself, as Regina looked at me "I soulmate does not equal having to be in love with them…" she added smiling "Don't let her go without telling her how you really feel" she said looking at Regina, who by this point for some unexplained reason had tears running down her cheeks "Promise me you gonna be honest with her an to you" continued Julia now looking at me "Promise me you gonna live the life that I didn't get to live"
"I promise" I whispered looking into her eyes, a moment later I heard Regina sobbing, I looked up at her, and she had her hand in front of her mouth, trying to cover the choking sobs that were escaping her. I walked to Regina and trapped her in a hug, letting her sob for whatever reason it was, in my arms.
"I can go now" I heard Julia say, I glanced at her and she smiled at me "I wish I could give you a big hug" she said then reaching out to stroke my cheek. We were both surprised when we felt the contact. Not a second later, Julia was holding Regina and myself in the tightest of hugs.
"Thank you" said Regina while Julia sobbed happily and excited, and I just basked in the feeling of safety. When Julia ended our embrace and Regina was standing right next to me I realized Regina had been hugging Julia too
"I'll be back for you" said the bus driver making me stop musing at whatever was swirling around my mind "In 60 or 70 years" he said smiling as Julia climbed into the bus "Savior, it was a pleasure. Your Majesty" He added bowing slightly his head for Regina.
"How?" I asked confused
"When it started to rain I could see them too" said Regina softly taking my hand in hers. "About my chat with Robin earlier…" she said squeezing my hand once the bus faded away
"Yeah?" I prompted her not really daring to hope
"How about we make today, the day we both beat fate" she said smirking leaning in towards me
"I say fuck fate" I told her closing the distance and capturing her lips in mine
