Peter and Thea were having a bit of a sibling night whilst Oliver was who knows where, so they decided to make the best of the night and the fact they were alone and went with playing video games and a movie marathon afterward.
"You still think you can win?" Thea asked as they were currently playing Injustice 2, Peter being Batman and Thea using Poison Ivy.
"Oh, just wait," Peter said as he dodged one of her incoming attacks when their mother walked past and saw them.
"And what is it you two are up to?" Moria asked them as she was happy Peter and Thea whew spending some time together, considering everything.
"Just messing around," Peter told her as Thea took the opening and finished him off. "Oh, come on!"
"Ha!" Thea cheered as she raised her hands in victory. "Victory!"
"No, wait! Come on!" Peter cried in defeat. "Rematch."
"Fine. If I'm gonna bet you, I'd rather make it fair and square." Thea said and changed her character into Supergirl.
"Fine, let's even things up." Peter guessed as he changed himself into Superman.
Thea then looked over to her mother and noticed her dress. "What's with the fancy getup?"
"I'm going out to dinner..." Moria said, immediately getting their attention off the screen. "...with Walter."
"Like...a date?" Thea asked.
"Like a dinner." Moria corrected her. "Truly, I don't know what the evening holds."
The two of them smile and see this as a possibility that everything could get back to normal in their lives. Ever since Moria got out of prison, Walter kept his distance in respect and tried to figure out where their relationship stood.
"You two going to be fine on your own?" Moria wonders as she held her purse.
"Yeah, we're gonna keep playing and maybe a movie marathon, order some pizza," Thea said as she looked to Peter with a coy smile, "as long as he can see the film through the tears after I kick his butt."
"You beat me once, but you won't beat me again," Peter promises her.
"Ready?" Thea dared and immediately went back to fighting.
Moria was happy to see her family was back together, Oliver being absent during the night and most days but is starting to try and do better than he once was.
Late in the night, the two siblings fell asleep and the tv just kept playing Thor Ragnarok. Their sleep was however interrupted you Peter's phone going off.
Peter quickly got up before it could wake Thea, even though he was tired enough that it still caused him to slim around and drop. He gave up on getting up and used his web to pick up his phone.
"It's three in the morning. Someone better be dying." Peter dared whoever called him.
"You think that I want to be up this early?" MJ asked as she sounded just as tired as he did. "We got a silent alert at Malcolm Merlyn's home."
"So?" Peter asked, feeling no sympathy if something of that madman's got stolen.
"So...this is the same man who created a machine that killed 503 people, including Ned." MJ reminded him, knowing that it was a low blow, but she needed to remind him that he took this job seriously. "Now get your butt over there before I kick it there. Miles' gonna meet you there."
Peter sighed and saw she did have a few good points, but he really did wanna sleep. "Fine.:
It took him a moment, but Peter got up and got dressed in his uniform before swinging over and made it to Malcolm's home and saw Miles sleeping against the wall.
Rolling his eyes, Peter lightly kicked him in order to wake him up. "Wake up, man."
Miles groaned and curled up. "Five more minutes."
"At that point, the enemies are gonna be gone," Peter said as he yanked Miles off the ground and the two made their way inside.
As they made it through the halls, they found an opened door. Taking a quick peek inside, they started to see a lot of schematics for the Earthquake machine that was mostly redacted and redundant without the redacted information.
"Wow," Miles commented as he flipped a few papers over. "Talk about redacted."
"They didn't even know what they were building." Peter was shocked to read. "And anyone who did know, he killed."
Miles then discovered something interesting and couldn't believe his eyes. "Pete?"
Peter turned to face Miles and noticed he was holding papers that had photos containing the black goo he's currently using as a second suit.
"What?" Peter asked as he looked them over and saw there was a USB attached to it.
They then heard footsteps in the hallway and Peter stuffed the papers in his patches and put the USB up his shooter, where he kept a secret container for stuff like this.
Walking out into the halls, they were immediately met with an arrow aiming at them while Miles tried to charge up a venom strike and Peter aimed his shooters when he noticed it was the Arrow.
Along with him was...Roy? Okay, Peter's starting to think Thea needs to really get better taste in guys if they're hanging with the Arrow.
"Oh, great." Peter groaned and put his arms down. "As if I didn't have enough problems tonight."
"What the hell are you doing here?" Oliver asked the masked hero.
"Answering a silent alarm. Was gonna ignore it, but felt it was better to be safe than sorry." Peter admitted.
"Actually, we were told to come here or face our friends' wrath," Miles admitted to him.
Peter squinted his eyes as he looked over at him. "Really?"
Before the three of them could continue any farther, they felt something shake their floor and heard metal screeching in the distance.
"What was that?" Roy asked.
"It came from underground," Oliver mentioned.
"The garage," Peter remembered, him visiting this place a few times with Oliver to visit Tommy Merlyn. "Let's go."
In the garage, there was an entire literal auto garage downstairs that was being led by someone with claws in his knuckles.
They went to a backdoor that had a lock on it, which he immediately cut through like it was nothing.
Inside?
The prototype of a machine that killed 503 people.
"Simple smash and grab." One of the goons noticed as they put the machine in the back of the truck. "Don't know why boss thought we needed you."
Bronze Tiger gestured to the upcoming heroes and smiled. "That's why."
When the heroes came in, they noticed the machine that was inside, and the Queen brothers both froze at the reminder of what that machine did.
"Step away from that device," Oliver demanded. "You don't know what that thing is capable of."
"A machine that makes earthquakes?" Tiger asked. "Think I got it."
"Do you know what'll happen if that thing ends up in the wrong hands?!" Peter asked him, marching forward of the group and his dark suit already starting to spread.
"I become stinking rich?" Tiger stated. "Close it up."
Oliver Drew and arrow whilst Peter shot a web, the two weapons being immediately cut. Peter raced in and skidded against the ground, using his strength to trip up the Tiger.
"Get that truck!" Peter told Miles as he dodged a slice from Bronze.
"On it!" Miles said as one of the goons raised a gun to his back, causing him to turn invisible on instinct. "I might be a moment." He then punched the one guy but saw there was a small group coming at them. "A minute tops!"
While they were doing that, Roy was taking out some anger on the driver as he yanked him out the window.
Peter shot a web and hit the ceiling and used his foot to kick Bronze towards Oliver, who spun and kicked him. Miles was doing fine until he suddenly became visible again and was shot in the hip.
"No!" Peter cried as he stopped fighting Bronze and shot a web at the man, using it as a pull to yank himself over and punch the man in the head.
But he didn't realize he was using the suit at that moment and might've dislocated the man's jaw. Not even caring about that, Peter raced over and helped Miles up.
"Miles, are you okay?" Peter asked him.
"Never better." Miles quipped as he held his hip. "Clean shot. Straight through. Heal in under an hour, right?"
"An hour," Peter admitted as he looked and see Bronze Tiger trying to get away with the shipment and Arrow seems to have vanished. "Of course." He quickly used one of his Spider-Tracers he's been working on and shot it onto the truck. "Come on."
Peter got Miles to his place, not wanting to risk running into his mother at Miles' place, and dropped him to sleep on his bed.
Two times in the same week, Miles.
Peter rubbed his eyes to try and stay awake to make sure Miles' powers healed him properly. To pass the time, he went over the notes that Malcolm had on the Symbiote as he wondered if it was dangerous. According to the notes, the species was an alien that was discovered by a space exposition.
So...it's an alien. Peter's been living with an alien in his body.
Meh, he got bit by a spider, gained powers, met heroes from the multiverse, this is nothing to him. Wait...
For some reason, it feels natural to know this. Almost like a part of him already knew.
Looking into some of the videos on the drive, he saw one where the creature was bonding with rabbits, killing dozens of them. Peter watched as the test subject after test subject was being killed over and over.
But then he saw as a subject survived and he wanted to know why.
"Why? Why this rabbit?" Malcolm asked the scientist.
"It's similar to an organ transplant." She tried to explain. "The donor and recipient must be an exact match."
Peter was shocked to hear that he was an exact match so that the Symbiote would bond with him. But then he remembered what Sara told him at Queen Consolidated.
"It seems to really like you."
Peter then recognized the fight; it could've attached itself to Black Cat and see if there was a chance that she was a match. But it went for him...
Why?
Peter watched the video further and watched as Malcolm was with the Symbiote and it bonded with him. He froze and wondered what that was going to mean.
The next day, Peter heard a conversation about winning something in his living room. Walking in, he saw Walter and Moria were sitting on the couch and talking.
"I don't believe she ran for office," Moria told him.
"If she had, she would have won," Walter replied.
"What are we talking about?" Peter asked.
Walter turned and smiled as he got up and hugged Peter. "Peter. How are you, dear boy?"
"Been better. Late night." Peter admitted as he rubbed his eyes.
"Well, you're the one who stayed up with the movie marathon." Moria reminded him.
"It was fun." Peter shrugged. "Until I fell on the floor. What's up?"
"I was trying to convince your mother to run for mayor," Walter explained to him.
"Wait, what?" Peter asked in surprise. "As in Mayor mayor?"
"That would indeed be it." A third party said, getting Peter's attention to the other side of the room and he noticed Norman Osborn was there with a smile. "Peter Queen. How the hell are you?"
"Mr. Osborn." Peter greeted as Norman walked over and patted him on the shoulder.
"Peter, please, how long have we known each other? It's Norman." Norman scoffed with a grin as he looked at Peter. "Wow. Look at you. Can't believe it's been three years. You've grown so much."
"What...are you doing here?" Peter wondered.
"Oh, same as Walter here," Norman admitted. "As an ex-mayor myself, I was willing to help with a new worthy candidate."
"From the horse's mouth," Walter said to Moria as he took a sip of a drink.
"I think it sounds like a cool idea," Peter admitted to his mom. "I mean, I've got a few years before I can vote, but you've got mine."
"Even the smartest of the family agrees," Norman said as he patted Peter on the back and started to leave the room before turning back to Peter. "Oh, Peter. Harry's going to be coming back from Europe early next year. Maybe the two of you can meet up when he does?"
"I'd love that," Peter said, more than happy to talk with Harry again. There was a knock on the door and Peter went to answer it. When he did, he saw it was Anya and MJ. "Hey."
"Sup?" MJ asked him.
"Come on," Peter said as the two went upstairs and saw Miles was eating the breakfast that he snuck up to him. "You good?"
"All healed, ready to kick that guy's ass," Miles stated as he got up and showed he took time to sew the hole in his suit. "We need to get thicker material."
"I'll get back to you when I guy some bulletproof vests," Peter assured him. "The same time I'll work on your more original suit."
"Actually, I might have some ideas thanks to your suit. Goo suit." Miles informed him.
That's when the computer went off and they saw that the tracker has been still for the past ten minutes.
"Looks like we have a location," Peter said as he picked up where they took the machine. "The docks."
"Well, we could've figured that." Miles scoffed.
"That could've gone to an airfield," Anya replied.
"Or the beach to get on a boat," MJ stated.
"Or a truck," Peter added on.
"Alright, I get it!" Miles stopped them from continuing.
"Let's get there. Take them by surprise." Peter said as he went to grab his suit and looked at the papers. "MJ, while we're out, we might not need you, but can you take a look at these papers? It's on the black suit."
"Sure." MJ guessed and picked a few up.
Peter and Miles made their way out when Anya noticed the computer was frozen on Malcolm accepting the Symbiote and it bonding to him. She froze as that thing might be bonded to the DNA of Merlyn, meaning Peter might figure it out.
Should she warn him? Is it possible that thing has picked up some of his traits and is passing them on to Peter? That would explain his temper, his willingness to injure and hurt Kraven.
Peter and Miles made it to see Bronze pass the device over to his buyer. They heard that Marconi was their target just as Oliver showed up and started attacking.
The two decided he was a good help and came in just as Bronze leaped in and stabbed Oliver in the back.
"Hey!" Peter called as he spun and kicked him. "Only I get to kick this guy's ass."
"I'm gonna enjoy taking you two down," Tiger said when Roy came in and tackled him.
"Or that happens." Peter guessed when the two of them looked over to the man who hired him and saw he was holding the remote to activate the device.
"Don't do it!" Oliver pleaded.
"You'll kill us all!" Peter said as he raised his hand.
"If I don't deliver this to my buyer, I'm dead anyway." He stated as he goes to push it when he is punched and zapped by Miles.
But that had other reproductions they weren't expecting as the blast went into the remote and short circuit it. They heard the device had activated and now getting ready to blow in less than a minute.
How'd he know? X-Ray in his sensors.
Oliver started to use several bombs on the container, but none of them worked. Peter and Miles raced over and tried to pry it open, but nothing was working.
"I thought we were supposed to be super strong," Miles commented.
"We are, but we're still weak to a few things," Peter replied as he tried to punch through the steel, but only left an imprint in the side.
"Roy!" They heard Arrow call out and both turned to see that the hood was down.
And Peter instantly recognized his own brother.
"The earthquake decide is in there. The steel is military-grade, it's built to withstand a bomb. But not you. Think about Thea." Oliver pleaded the rest of his plead falling in dead ears while Miles watched as Roy punched a hole in it.
Seeing Peter frozen, Miles grabbed him and then raced off while Oliver dropped a bomb inside. When the bomb went off, Miles used it as cover to get Peter out of there before Oliver noticed him.
Peter was back in the lair and couldn't even come up with what to say. MJ and Anya already knew about what happened as they watched from the suit cams.
"Your brother...is the Arrow." Anya couldn't believe it.
MJ however was sorry to say she saw it coming. "I knew it."
"What?" Miles asked.
"Last year, there was a break-in by a hitman, Peter fought him off and I wanted to make sure he was okay. I watched as Oliver fought the man and killed him. Then gave the dead security guard the credit." MJ explained as she remembered that day as the day she almost lost Peter.
Peter however had no idea what to say and just kept staring off into nothing. What could he say? He felt...betrayed. Angry. A bit like a hypocrite.
His older brother, Oliver Queen, was the Arrow. He doesn't even know why he feels this angry towards the statement running around in his head.
While he was thinking this, the black suit was running its way through his veins.
Bonding with Peter in a permanent position.
Peter didn't know what he was going to do. He couldn't talk to Oliver about knowing he's the Arrow until he revealed he is Spider-Man.
Could he actually admit that? Tell his family about his powers? What would they think of him then?
Downstairs, Moria and Walter were talking about their earlier conversation. Moria opened the door and allowed Walter inside.
"I was glad to receive your email," Walter told Moria. "Does it portend what I'm hoping?"
"I'm going to run." Moria decided to go for it and run for mayor.
"What changed your mind?" Walter wondered and saw the smile on her face. The face that usually is on for one person specifically.c"Peter."
"He's been a little of a reminder to me I still owe this city," Moria told him, thinking of that day he told her he had powers. The day he wanted to make something of himself, not just be the victim of a mass murderer using his mother as a pawn. "And I want to be remembered as something more than Malcolm Merlyn's pawn."
"As you should." Walter was happy to hear.
"But you know there was another reason for my reticence," Moria informed Walter.
Walter knew it all too well. "You're afraid that people will learn that Peter's not Robert's biological son."
"I managed to get through a trial without the truth coming out," Moria explains. "But political campaigns tend to be a bit more adept at extracting skeletons from closets."
"But no one else knows," Walter said.
"Someone does," Moria stated. "Two..." she then sighed and knew she needed to inform him. "My OB. Dr. Gill. There were complications when Peter was born and I had to tell him."
"And what of the other?" Walter wonders.
"Anya. Anya Corazon." Moria said as she looked up at the stairs to see if there was anyone there. "But she won't be a problem, she promised not to tell anyone. She doesn't want to hurt Peter like that and wants me to be the one to tell him. If we're going to go through with this, we need to make sure Dr. Gill won't be a problem."
Walter understood what she was saying and was happy to know Anya wouldn't be a problem for them. Peter has a good way of picking out friends.
If only that can be said about Parasites...
You know what I mean.
As that was happening all night, a man was working on his night shift. As he was taking the trash out, there was another figure in the alley.
"Hello?" He called out to the figure. "You lost or something?"
"Or something." He said before showing a knife and stabbing the garbage boy.
He cried in pain as the man started to bite on his neck. He started to feast on the garbage boy and revealed who he was.
Cletus Cortland Kasady.
And he's out for carnage.
