When he did that, Oliver met Nyssa, the daughter of Ra's Al Ghul, Sara's mother was abducted by the League of Assassins, and Quinten learned that his daughter was back in town.
They were looking into her mom, but Oliver needed to be at his mother's announcement to give the announcement speech.
That's when Oliver noticed Felicity was avoiding making eye contact with Moria, getting Oliver's attention. Cornering Felicity, he asked what was bothering her and Felicity knew she couldn't keep it.
"I say this with confidence." Walter started to introduce Moria while Oliver was taking in the information Felicity gave him. "Because the Moria Queen I know is more than a successful CEO and philanthropist. She is a loving mother who has devoted her life to raising three wonderful children. Just to tell you how special she is, I'd like to welcome her son. Oliver Queen."
Oliver then started to turn and walk through the crowds of people before making it to the stand and trying to find what to say now.
"Thank you." Oliver started. "I'm here today to say a few words...about Moria Queen. I bet many of you think you know her because you...read about her in the press. Or saw her on tv. But I can promise you...you don't know my mother. You don't know her as I do. And you don't know what she's capable of...when it comes...to helping the people of Starling City. Ladies and gentlemen, my mother, Moria Queen."
Oliver walked over and Moria hugged her son, but as she did, he leaned in close so only she could hear.
"I know," Oliver whispered in her ear.
Moria figured as much with his choice of words and knew she would deal with it later.
"Thank you!" Moria told the people as she took the stand.
Peter swung through the city, feeling his questions raising with every other statement he's been hearing recently or with every secret he's learned. His brother is the Arrow. His mother is hiding something from him. This secret is eating Anya up. He was hunted by some hunter who was paid by someone to capture him.
Swinging through the city, he was making his way past the warehouses by the docks when he noticed a familiar face.
"Sara?" Peter questions.
Nyssa has just released Sara's mother and they just left as Sara fell to the floor.
"You took the poison?" Nyssa asked as she saw the snake venom in her eyes. "No."
Sara started to talk just as Peter and Quentin show up. "If you want to be with your family so badly...they can join you in eternity."
Before she drew her sword, before Quentin drew his sword, someone else approached. He walked in cluelessly as he walked around the boxes and garbage everywhere as Peter immediately recognized him.
"Stick?" Peter asked in shock.
"Nyssa Al Ghul." Stick scoffed as he approached her. "Still that bratty girl who never learns a lesson."
"Stick." Nyssa was shocked to see. "You're-"
"Supposed to be dead?" Stick interrupted her with a tone sounding like he's heard that a lot in his life. "So should your father. Life is full of surprises, isn't it?"
"And it appears you brought your apprentice," Nyssa stated, looking over to Peter, who was hiding in the shadows.
"Not my apprentice. More of a... pet project." Stick admitted.
"Ouch," Peter commented as he dropped from the ceiling and landed on his hands and knees. "Stick, you know this, Lady Arrow?"
"Her names Nyssa Al Ghul, kid. Heir to the Demon. As she loves to remind people." Stick introduced them, the irritation in his voice not going unrecognized. "What I want to know is why you're here." That's when Oliver interrupted and shot an arrow between them all. "And then there was four."
"What the hell?" Oliver asked as he saw Nyssa in between Spider-Man on her left and Stick, the daughter of the demon in the middle of them all.
Nyssa then drew her sword, causing Peter to quickly dodge the attack and Stick to raise his walking stick to block the attack.
"You just gonna stand there or help?" Stick asked the Arrow and kicked Nyssa back to give Oliver the opening to attack and shoot the sword.
"Live or die. Up to you." Oliver told Nyssa as the two of them started to fight and Peter picked up Sara.
"I can't believe it's you," Peter whispered in shock and awe. She was supposed to be dead. Yet again, so was Oliver.
"Life's full of surprises, isn't it, Petey?" Sara choked out, surprising Peter that she actually knew his identity.
"Spider-Man!" Oliver cried as he was trying to stop Nyssa and tossed the watch with the cure.
Peter immediately caught the cure and gave it to her. "Come on, work." He pleaded, wondering where his brother knew to find the cure. Yet again, he is the Arrow.
Oliver held Nyssa in a chokehold when Sara gasped, and Oliver let her go running over and check on her.
"Nyssa," Sara whispered as she caught her breath. "Please. No more killing."
Nyssa looked between the three of them and saw Stick slowly approach them and even though he was blind and old, he still had a lot of fight left in him.
"Ta-er Sah-fer. In the name of Ra's al Ghul...I release you." Nyssa said as the sirens approached and the three vanished, leaving Sara behind to stay with her family.
Peter planned to return home and talk with his mother but decided that was something to put aside for the night after what he discovered and went to talk to MJ at her place about it.
Peter sat on the stairway of the fire escape whilst MJ just strolled around soaked in everything they were informed. Miles sat on the wall as he tried to take it all in himself. Anya even joined them as she felt she needed to try and help their relationship with the secret she has to keep for his sake.
"So... Sara Lance is alive; Stick is keeping something as he knows the daughter of the Demon." MJ recapped everything that Peter has informed her of, trying to take it all in. "My God, your life is a comic book."
"God, one thing is piling on top of another," Peter muttered. "Things just don't stop."
"What are you gonna do?" Miles asks.
"Well, there's not much I can do." Peter reminded him. "Sara knows who I am, and I know she won't tell anyone."
"How do you know that?" Anya wonders.
"She hasn't told him yet." Peter shrugged.
"What about your...parasite?" MJ asks, looking down to notice his veins. "Wait, what's that?"
Peter looked down and noticed the suit was starting to form on him permanently. "Wow, that's...weird. I'm gonna have to have that looked at. Might be some side effect for not using it."
"Or many it's the parasite," MJ replied, feeling something wrong. "Did you tell Dr. Ehret about this?"
"Don't tell them the truth, they'll separate us."
"Yeah." Peter lied, unsure why he did that. Just like back at the labs. "She knows."
"And...?" MJ wanted him to continue.
"Nothing. It's...just an experiment by Malcolm Merlyn." Peter said, noticing Anya flinch at the name. "That's not even what she has. All she has is that it enhances strength. Came from a meteorite.'
"Wait, it's an alien?" Miles asked in shock. "You've been holding onto an alien life?"
"And using it to keep us alive," Peter recalled. "I want to know more about it like the rest of you. But not tonight."
"Good idea, it's getting late." MJ noticed.
"See ya, guys," Miles said as he placed his mask off and swings away.
Anya then made her way down the fire escape and made her way home.
That left the two of them and MJ looked to Peter's veins, feeling there was something wrong.
"You sure you're okay?" MJ asked, wanting to be sure he was alright.
"Yeah, it's a bit itchy on the arms, but other than that, I'm fine." Peter shrugged. "Just..." he then leaned back and put his head against the stairs. "Getting tired of all of the lies. All the villains. All the secrets. Literally and mentally. I'm tired."
MJ noticed the bags under his eyes and noticed he should get some more sleep. "You need to take a break."
"How can I? This city seems determined to keep me busy." Peter stated and started to get up and make his way home. He then looked back as MJ started to climb back into her room. "Hey," MJ stopped and turned back to face him. "Thanks for caring so much."
MJ smiled and was happy to see he was still the boy she met in the schoolroom looking for a friend. "Don't mention it, Tiger."
"You're never gonna let me live that down." Peter could tell as he looked annoyed at the statement. "Are you?"
"Never," MJ said with a grin and closed her window.
Peter rolled his eyes and looked out to the alley before placing his mask back on and his gloves. Before he placed them on all the way, he looked down at the black running through his veins.
Should he be worried about that?
"No."
Okay, he's had voices in his head before, mostly telling him small things. Like how stupid he dresses. But never a voice that sounded like...this.
Something was definitely off. Maybe it's just the lack of sleep. He's been feeling weaker recently. If this keeps up, he might need to call upon the black suit to keep up his game.
Putting his mask on, he started to swing off home, leaving MJ to watch him go and smile. Peter was happy he has never changed but couldn't help but feel like he had slowly started to become reliant on this...parasite.
He seemed to have frozen when she brought up Dr. Ehret. Maybe she should take a quick stop at Queen Consolidated and have a word with her herself.
