He was 5 years old, and for his birthday he and Stanley went out to have some fun in town, and when they were done pranking the other cats and annoying other humans they walked a route that wasn't touched on purpose. They were walking along the sidewalk, Obscura was ahead. Suddenly a large car was flying at them, it wasn't turning away, "STANLEY! LOOK OU-"
It struck Stanley, and Obscura rushed over to try to help his friend. But Stanley died on impact, and Obscura lifted his friend's lifeless corpse and buried it in his garden, and informed Stanley's other friends about what happened.
Later, the police were waiting to capture the two mad scientists that were torturing him. He wasn't too sad about it, but he felt bad for his caretaker, Emma. Who just saw her parents be tased and dragged away. But just a few days later he heard of a prison break and that Emma's parents had escaped then suddenly they smashed through a window and snatched him up, it happened so fast that he couldn't react and now they tried to dispose of him in a forest, he was thrown to the road. And they drove away, and a cop chased them down.
He looked around, stunned from shock. He could see another town, but not the same as the one he came from. So he thought he might as well practice his powers in this forest, as no one in that town would take this abomination of a cat. He also thought that he could practice using his wings here, as he now has infinite space, and a forest that he can use.
