Reviews:
The Black Wolf of Arks - Glad you liked some of the changes I made. As for Jaune acting like Yoh bit, I try to not go into one or the other direction too much so if I ever make Jaune act like Yoh it too blatantly feel free to mention it.
X3runner - I don't think I will make the strength difference between Jaune and the rest of the team too big, at least not yet, so their strength are going to be more in line with each other.
BrainWork27 - Thanks for the review and suggestions. :)
Wickerstein, NinjaFang1331, Gamelover41592 - Thanks. :)
The relatively large households of the Tribes Village began to feel quite cramped after putting fifteen people and eight spirits in them, as Jaune and all of his friends came to realize by doing just that.
The entire first day of the third round ended without much commotion, there wasn't really a way for there to happen anything in the first place with the arena being used as a makeshift office to register their teams in and the entire village being constantly patrolled by the judges and overseers from myriad of different powerful tribes from across Remnant, not to mention that the village was supposedly kept in check by the Great Spirit itself as well.
Up until midnight all of the teams weren't even formed either so it would have been extremely difficult to push the tournament forward like that anyway.
It, of course, meant that they had almost the entire previous day for themselves to do anything they wanted. They however didn't really bother with doing anything with it besides resting knowing full well that come morning the first teams to square off would be chosen.
That was also the reason why all of them had gathered in this house of theirs, to learn whether they would end up facing each other as early as the first day of the Shaman Fight's third round.
After their training at the Branwen camp, the entirety of team ARCS were quite confident in their ability to rather easily defeat the team Singer's Revenge, that's how Sharona's crew decided to name themselves, but they certainly wouldn't want to eliminate their newfound colleagues so early.
It was always better to have more friends than enemies after all, especially when their enemies were already so strong that they could easily become the Shaman King already.
Rays of sunlight shone through their window as the sun moved higher in the sky signaling that the morning hours were quickly passing.
The expressions on Sharona's team started to slowly become more and more delighted as a small hope that they wouldn't be the very first team to fight began arising in their hearts.
The Singer's Revenge didn't bother with lying to themselves about their capabilities to feel confident they have already witnessed how outclassed they were compared to the opponent they swore revenge to so every single additional day they had to prepare and train was worth more than anything for them.
That small hope was however diminished quite quickly when two quick alarms resounded right after another through the room from both of the currently present teams' oracle bells.
Gasps, grunts and sighs echoed through the room instantly after the alarms stopped. Everyone knew what they meant and nobody was feeling particularly cheery about that.
"No, we can't fight against you, guys. You already were capable of matching our strength when there were five of us and now without Sharona we will be doomed! She was always the strongest of us after all." Millie murmured rapidly through a haze of emotions.
Everyone turned to the youngest girl in the building and just as Jaune opened his mouth to say something and maybe comfort the pitiful girl, the red head of the Singer's Revenge team beat him to it.
"Oi! What's with that defeatist attitude of yours, brat!" Sally punched her youngest teammate on the head. "If you are going to act like that then you might as well just give up now, you wimp!"
"Hey! What was that hit for!?" Yang shouted in defense of the poor young girl.
"She had it coming." Sally scoffed. "If she's going to lose all hope the moment we face any challenge then we might have just as well not come here at all. We've got a mission to accomplish and even if none of us is meant to become the Shaman King, we still have a goal."
Yang was about to leash out at the muscle of Sharona's team but she was stopped by another despairing voice in their group.
"Millie's right, you know?" Ellie said with a defeated tone in her voice. "If we survive the first day we can still train up to face new challenges but the moment we get eliminated there's nothing we can do and I don't think we can face Jaune and his team at the moment. You've heard how they claimed to have gone through some really difficult training, right?"
"I-" Sally wanted to argue but another despairing voice of Lilly cut her off and soon their entire team was thrown into pure chaos with everyone arguing over the point of even going to the arena.
At the same time that this chaos was happening right in front of them, team ARCS decided to actually check the message they had received on their oracle bells to at least know how their battle was even going to look like.
"THE THIRD FIGHT OF THE FIRST DAY:
TEAM ARCS
VS
TEAM WILD MIGHT
THE FIGHT WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE SEVENTH HOUR AFTER MIDDAY FAILURE TO SHOW UP WILL RESULT IN FORFEITING"
Despite being aware of the chaos before him and that his next action would probably make it even worse Jaune could help but chuckle a little at the message on the old scroll that tournament's judges kept insisting on being called the oracle bell.
The round might have changed but they still couldn't get information about their fights in a decent form. At the very least now they didn't have to spent literal hours to figure out the location of their fight since everything was going to happen in the arena.
"Don't laugh at our misfortune, you dummy!" Millie screamed with small tears in her eyes that started to gather there from all the infighting she and her team were going through at the moment.
"Idiots." Whitley whispered quietly while shaking his head.
"Don't call us idiots!" Lilly shouted in anger after hearing the retort of the white haired shaman. "Do you think that just because we are going to be eliminated by you guys, you can just treat us like that?!"
Whitley just looked at the brain of the Singer's Revenge with an unimpressed stare for a few seconds before sighing with some tiredness.
"At least check who your opponents are going to be before starting to panic as if the world was about to end." Whitley said while pointing at one of the oracle bells that belonged to the Singer's Revenge team.
"Wha-?" The entirety of Sharona's team said as one before looking down to check their oracle bells.
All five of them had to blink a couple of times as they processed the message on their scrolls through their heads. No matter how they looked at it their oracle bells didn't even mention Team ARCS in the first place.
"Then why?" Ellie asked slowly with a stupefied expression on her face.
"We are the third fighters today, our opponents are some team called 'Wild Might'." Jaune answered with a smile and a little snicker. "What about you, guys? When's your fight going to happen?"
Sharona looked over her friends' shoulders to check the message as well. She might not have been the part of the Singer's Revenge but those four were still her team and she refused to stop being their leader.
"Our fight is going to start in three hours." Sharona answered. "It's against some team called 'The Last Arrivals'. I believe they called themselves like that because they barely passed the second round, looks like we are lucky to face such opponents."
Cheers exploded from Sharona's team as the distress they were feeling earlier was forgotten completely. Not even the fact that they were going to be the very first combatants of the third round seemed to worry them.
At the same time that those cheers took over the room, Summer started to look slightly perplexed.
"Are we the only ones who decided to use the standard naming system for our team?" The silver eyed spirit tilted her head before musing out loud. "Those full names feel so weird when our team's name is so short."
"I'm pretty sure that it's because of how surprisingly many connections to the huntsmen culture our team has." Jaune answered his guardian spirit. "Shaman traditions don't often mangle with the traditions of huntsmen so we might be a bit of an exception in here, though I'm pretty sure that there are at least a couple of other teams like us. Who knows, maybe we will even have to fight them in the future."
His answer appeared to be satisfactory as Summer nodded with a smile in response before going back to looking at the still emotionally charged Sharona's team.
Those five would have to calm themselves down pretty quickly, their fight wasn't that far off and it really wouldn't do them well to be the very first people to lose in the third round.
Well, no matter how the 'Singer's Revenge' was going to fare, they would be watching and cheering for them.
It was the least they could do to help their colleagues.
...
About two hours later...
...
Despite the fact that the first fight of the third round was less than an hour from starting, the arena was nowhere near as crowded as it had been during the registration of their teams.
Jaune supposed it made sense, the previous day everyone needed to be here in order to continue with the tournament but watching the first fight of some other shamans was not only completely optional but also, depending on your strength and confidence, not really important either. At the very least that was the reason, he assumed, why there wasn't Hao, Saigan Sati, or any of the X-Laws in the audience; they simply thought that watching two relatively weak teams of shamans fight against each other wasn't worth wasting their time on.
It didn't mean however that the arena was empty or even that the audience was scarce as countless average shamans that competed in the tournament couldn't really afford to miss a fight which could decide one of their next opponents.
The stone seats of the arena were slowly being filled out as more and more people arrived at the arena and the atmosphere quickly turned into something that wouldn't be out of place during an usual sport's event or maybe just Vytal Festival. There were even some salesmen that kept trying to swindle someone out of their money by offering them overpriced heated peanuts and popcorn.
Jaune couldn't help but stare with an aghast expression on his face as one of the judges accepted payment with a debit card from one of the contestants.
"Wha-?" The blond shaman whispered, though the befuddlement he felt prevented him from actually finishing that sentence.
"I know, right?!" Nora nodded with a whine. "If I knew we would be able to buy popcorn here then I would have taken more money from Beacon for our adventure. Why didn't you tell me that we would be able to do that?"
Jaune could only blink slowly as his mind struggled to comprehend the situation he was now in.
"Based on his expression, I'm pretty sure that Jaune didn't have any idea about that either." Ren told Nora with a small smile of someone well acquainted with bizarre situations and strangeness itself.
"I guess it makes some sense." Blake mused out loud. "The judges probably knew well that most of the people that arrived here wouldn't be stacked on food after three months of non stop travel. It would have been quite a big mistake if some of the combatants died or couldn't compete because of hunger and if they could earn a little bit of money by doing so, then why wouldn't they?"
Despite the rather logical answer Jaune could still only stare agape at all the salesmen and food stalls placed around the arena, making Summer giggle quietly a little at his reactions.
"You're completely right." Weiss agreed with a brisk nod. "I don't imagine that being a judge of a secret tournament that's sponsored by the closest thing we have to a god would be a profitable job and they still have to somehow live for themselves on top of that."
Whitley and Nicholas nodded a couple of times in response to the current heiress of their family.
"Can you all not be so calm about it?!" Sharona shouted after observing their entire interaction. "My team will soon be fighting the fight for their place in the tournament and all you can talk about is the financial situations of the judges!?"
Sharona's outburst was met with a couple of shrugs from team ARCS and their non-shaman friends. There still was a bit over half an hour left before the fight and it wasn't like they were overly worried for their friends' chances.
While the 'Singer's Revenge' might not have been a team as strong as theirs, they still knew that they could easily carry their weight.
"Don't worry." Jaune stretched back a little to try to get comfortable in the rather uncomfortable seats of the arena. "You guys might not be among the strongest of contestants in the tournament but you certainly can't be the weakest."
"It's easy for you to say." Sharona grumbled quietly. "Unlike you lot, we didn't go through some ridiculously hard shaman training during the second round that would turn us into an actually competent force."
Seeing how defeated their newest colleague looked made most of team ARCS want to sigh. If it wasn't for the training they went through they would have probably felt similarly about the entire situation.
"Hello there! Would you want to buy some peanuts?! The first battle will start soon and you certainly don't want to watch that exciting match on an empty stomach." A familiar voice of a somewhat older man called out from behind them in a tone that simply didn't fit the man who said that.
"Kyah!" Sharona jumped in surprise at the sudden appearance of one of the tournament's judges.
Thankfully, just as the unofficial leader of the Singer's Revenge was about to stumble down the arena's seats from the drastic movement of her body, Jaune managed to quickly lift her up with his wooden staff, he always had on him.
"Silva! Long time no see, man! " Chocolove shouted with a grin before lowering his voice to a barely audible whisper. "You didn't land yourself in any trouble in the time we took to get here, didn't you?"
Silva, to the relief of most of them, shook his head slightly to indicate that nothing had been leaked of his help.
"Everything's going great." Silva admitted with a small smile. "Although the monetary problems are still quite annoying however. Thankfully, that's only a common issue that every judge has to deal with in some ways. Speaking of, do you want to buy anything?"
All of them could only shake their heads with smiles on their faces in response, just because Whitley and Weiss were rich didn't mean that they were willing to waste their money on obvious scams like that.
"It was worth a try." Silva sighed before sitting down beside them as well. He knew that the opening fight of the tournament's third round was about to happen any moment now.
Almost at the very same moment that the Faunus judge's body had hit the seat, a loud yet dull bell, signaling the teams to gather at the arena, resounded through the village.
"It's about time." Whitley grunted with a smile before being quickly rebuked by a lazy hand wave from Silva.
"That time you are talking about is still some time away from now." Silva said while stretching his head a little to alleviate the light pain from the rough seats. "The fight cannot start until there's less than fifteen minutes before the time you were given by your oracle bells and both of the teams are present to agree to having their battle a little bit earlier than planned."
The Schnee shaman could only sigh tiredly before grumbling out loud a little in dissatisfaction.
"I should have known that there would be a lot of pointless waiting before anything considering how long it took us to even register our team with your people's bureaucracy."
Whitley's statement earned him a couple of nods from all of his friends and the few people around them who managed to hear what the young shaman had said. The painfully slow wait in order to be able to participate in the tournament didn't make many people happy, and those who had to sacrifice some of their time to come up with a team name or even just a team of four at all had it especially bad the last day.
"Don't complain!" Silva retorted with annoyance. "Just because it took a little bit of time for you didn't eman that it was any easier for the judges! Every single team that was registered had to be carefully and individually reported to both our elders and the Great Spirit themselves. I would like to know how you all would have fared if you were supposed to go through all of that to just allow others into the tournament."
That retort didn't really sway many people to the judges' side and quite a few of the nearby shamans decided to add their own two Lien to the conversation, claiming that reporting to the Great Spirit was pointless as the grand being obviously was aware of everything that was happening in the village anyway.
That tense situation lasted for some time and it even turned into quite a shouting match between competitors and judges before, after a good couple minutes, another bell resounded through the village to announce that both of the teams were here and ready to fight.
In a few short seconds everyone stopped their fighting and immediately turned their heads towards the center of the arena to see two teams of four cautiously making their way into the middle of the arena.
One of those teams was made up of the four girls of varying ages that always followed Sharona during the second round of the tournament. To no one's surprise it was team 'Singer's Revenge', named after their desire to deliver vengeance upon the person who burnt Sharona's guardian spirit out of existence.
The other team however could barely be even called a team as a ragtag group of four completely unrelated strangers came forward while arguing with each other, seemingly to decide who was supposed to be their leader. These guys were obviously just a quickly made team of four different solo shamans who barely managed to pass the second round in the first place, Jaune wouldn't be surprised if these guys just learned each other's names the previous day during the registration.
A couple dozens of meters above the center of the arena an evidently spiritual screen suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"Good morning fellow shamans!" A loud and excited voice echoed from the floating spiritual screen as a man with spiky hair and black glasses appeared on it. "My name's Radim of the Patch tribe and I will be your commentator as well as the main moderator for the entire Shaman Fight's third round! I hope we will get along well in the foreseeable future."
Murmurs rapidly spread through the arena as every present shaman's excitement reached its apex.
"Now, since I'm fully aware that all of you simply cannot wait to start the third and penultimate round of the most important competition to ever exist, I will try to keep the introductions as brief as I can!"
If the greeting from Radim was enough to spread murmurs throughout the entire arena then the announcement that there would be only one more round after this one made every single person in the audience, and even the arena itself, grow restless from the emotions.
"Why is everyone shouting like that!?" Ruby asked loudly while holding her ears to protect herself from the hurtful noise.
"We just got confirmation that there's only two more rounds of the tournament left!" Jaune answered with just as much excitement in his tone as every other shaman was showing right now.
"Really?!" Yang asked as loud as she possibly could only to receive a brief yet enthusiastic nod from Jaune in response.
Before any one of them could say something more however, an unnaturally loud cheer from the audience caught their attention. The first two teams to fight in the third round had already reached the center of the arena.
"From the north of the arena our first combatants just made their way to its center!" Radim announced cheerfully. "They became quite infamous during the previous round for challenging many solo shamans with their entire team. I'm pretty sure that some of you have either met or heard of them already, people get excited because the Singer's Revenge has entered the scene! Most of you may not know it but they were one of the first shamans to form a team in the entire tournament, and depending on how you define a shaman team they might have been the very first as well!"
The audience cheered for their friends in the arena with so much emotion that if Jaune didn't know any better he would probably suspect all of them of being Sharona's friends.
In reality most of the huge crowd of shamans in the audience probably didn't know who Sharona and her friends were but everybody was way too excited not to let out a huge cheer at the prospect of the very first team to fight.
Jaune had to agree, the cheering did make quite a spectacle to behold.
"And from the south, we have their opponents!" Without waiting for the audience to calm down, Radim continued with his introduction of the teams. "They barely passed the second round and you probably don't expect much from them at the moment but each of these four shamans managed to go through the entire second round without any help or guidance! They are the lone wolves forced to band together, everybody make some noise for the team, The Last Arrivals!"
Another cheer erupted from the audience.
Jaune decided to take a more careful look at that team and from the way two of the team's shamans looked like they were about to die from embarrassment and how one of them was laughing heartily he believed he could guess with a rather high chance of being right that those four weren't quite as great as their introduction made them out to be.
It made him wonder how his team would be introduced though.
Jaune shook his head after thinking about it for a while. He wouldn't have to wait for too long in order to find out, his fight was the third fight of this very day after all.
"Let's start the countdown!" Radim shouted with a grin while raising his arm upwards and making a giant timer appear on the floating spiritual screen.
"10"
The audience held their breaths as everyone awaited the beginning of this round's first fight.
"9"
Both of the teams shifted slightly to take their battle position, though for The Last Arrivals team it only meant getting away from each other to reduce the chances of hitting themselves by accident.
"8"
"7"
The first Over Souls began their formation in the arena. One could clearly see the synchronization Singer's Revenge's members had with each other with all of them starting the process of forming their Over Soul at almost the exact same time.
"6"
"5"
"4"
Grains of sand flew up from the arena as the air movement caused by violently surging Furyoku created a small hurricane in the middle of the arena with both of the teams at its center.
"3"
All the Over Souls formed completely and Sharona's friends immediately raised their guards and moved to a more defensive position.
"2"
Team 'The Last Arrivals' inched forward a little, their weapons and bodies were already tense and ready to spring at a moment's notice. A couple of audience members had to wince a little at the sight of how crude the Over Souls of few of its members looked.
"1"
With a loud battle cry from both of the teams, the battle began.
The Last Arrivals charged forward, almost blindly, and Singer's Revenge tactically dashed backwards, using range attacks from Millie and Lilly to lightly harass their foes while their melee fighters made sure to protect them and slowed the enemies.
The cheers quickly quieted down a little as everyone focused on the fight to study their possible future opponents and see how they compared to other shamans.
Everyone was focused on the fight, team RWBY even more so as they couldn't see the floating screen with the close up of the fight, yet after watching the fight for about half a minute Jaune couldn't stop himself from yawning a little.
He didn't want to be rude and he was sure that for weaker shamans that fight had to be exciting, especially so for ordinary people like team RWBY, but the only thing he could feel towards that fight was a hollow feeling of being underwhelmed. The worst part about it was the fact that he wasn't even sure if it was because of his drastic boost in power after training at Raven's camp or if it was because he had already faced against foes way scarier and more impressive than those two teams were.
One peculiar thing of note however was that the fight, for all of its rather low scale, was quite close. It was almost uncanny how weirdly equal both teams were when it came to their strength.
Jaune frowned a little.
Were the fights chosen by the Great Spirit in such a way so that the teams were close to each other in terms of strength? Because if they were then Jaune was already starting to dread their fight a little.
In the end he could only shake his head before putting that thought away for the moment, it was only the first fight of the round and he couldn't really derive much information from it considering how unimpressive it was.
Sharona's team entered some weird formation where the melee fighters of their team were trying to push their opponents together for their range fighters to have a clear line at the entire enemy team. Suffice to say, if such a tactic was used against any other team, no matter how competent said team was, it would have ended in nothing but a complete disaster for the Singer's Revenge.
A sigh escaped Jaune and a couple of his friends in the audience, Sharona's friends were really lucky to have such opponents for their very first team fight. With how uncooperative members of the team The Last Arrival were, he wouldn't be surprised if they eliminated themselves without the Singer's Revenge's help.
It felt almost like seeing a couple bickering children fighting over who would get the candy first.
Sharona's team's strategy appeared to have paid off as the moment The Last Arrivals were forced closer to each other they had to restrict themselves from using their Over Soul to their full potential to not hurt their teammates and became quite a clear shooting target for Millie and Lilly.
"It looks like the fight is getting closer to the finish as the plan of Singer's Revenge finally comes to fruition!" It looked like they weren't the only ones who saw the strategy of Sharona's friends because the moment Millie and Lilly lined up their final shot Radim shouted out with some excitement. "Could the Last Arrivals already be done for? The fight was certainly intense but I don't see how they could turn it around now!"
Salvos of spiritual projectiles flew through the air of the arena as Singer's Revenge opponents could do nothing except trying to block and just as Radim had predicted not more than a few seconds ago Sharona's team took their first victory with their opponents quickly running out of Furyoku to block the incoming volleys of bullets.
A loud bell echoed through the arena to signify the end of the very first fight of this round and the audience erupted in cheer before the spiritual screen floating above the arena turned black for a moment in order to show a single message.
"WINNER
SINGER'S REVENGE"
Sharona looked up at the screen with so much happiness in her eyes that she almost started crying.
"W-We did it." The older blond shaman of their rather large group said shakily.
Seeing how their colleague looked, Jaune decided to pat her on the back a couple of times in support of her emotions. It was merely a single fight of the third round and there was already so much emotion from Sharona, he didn't want to imagine what would happen if one of them became the shaman king.
The entirety of Singer's Revenge back in the arena laughed in glee while looking so happy that nothing could have ruined their mood. Some stray spiritual shots were fired directly into the air, they threw themselves at each other, and loud cries of happiness were heard in celebration.
Sadly, before Sharona's friends could really start celebrating, the judges had come down to the arena and politely asked them to leave so that they could prepare everything for the next round. Not wanting to offend the overseers of the tournament, the girls didn't make any fuss about that and happily sprinted from the arena to meet with their friends in the audience.
In the meantime people like Summer, Ruby, or even Sharona for that matter couldn't help but giggle slightly at the small scene that their colleagues had made down there.
"That went well." Summer said in between her chuckles. "Let's hope that our first fight will end up just as well as this one."
Jaune smiled a little confidently in response. He may not have any proof, as even the information they got from Raven didn't cover the how the teams for fight were selected in this round, but he had a growing suspicion that their fight, thanks to the secret training they went through during the previous round, was going to be quite a lot easier than Singer's Revenge.
"Yeah." Jaune watched the judges move around in the arena, preparing something in a leisurely manner. "Let's just hope for that."
He didn't need to turn towards Summer to know that she was nodding with a determined smile on her face.
...
A few hours later...
...
After the entire day of doing almost nothing and sometimes observing what was happening in the arena, their fight was finally about to start. In between their fight and that of Sharona's team, there was yet another fight between two unknown to them teams that, despite being quite unimpressive by his standards, managed to confirm Jaune thoughts about the fight being hand picked to be between at least somewhat comparable teams.
He and his friends were currently standing before the entrance to the arena itself and with still twenty minutes to wait before their battle would begin they couldn't do much except for stretching and some light exercises.
This very moment was the first time they actually noticed any disadvantages formed solely because of their secret training with Raven. If they hadn't trained with her at all they would have been certain that their opponents were somewhere close to them in strength but now they sadly had to keep guessing whether the opponents chosen for them were picked based on their strength before or after their secret training.
While fighting enemies with comparable strength to them from before the training would have been a cake walk, having to fight against someone closer to their current strength would at best be ridiculously hard and tiring, and at worst simply a disaster for them.
They hadn't had a chance to actually test their new powers properly and if their first chance was an important fight against opponents slightly stronger than them, they would probably end up losing.
Jaune quickly shook his head to get rid of any unnecessary thoughts. If the opponents were going to be stronger than them then the only thing they would have to do was to give it their all and try to win.
"Are you nervous?" Ren asked kindly after approaching his team leader from the side.
"Please, as if a true shaman like Jaune could be nervous just because of a simple team fight." Whitley said with a small, and likely pretended if Jaune's ability to read Whitley's tone was as good as he thought it was, scoff before grinning a little. "He's probably excited to finally have a proper shaman fight instead of simply walking around hoping to find the village."
Ren narrowed his eyes at the white haired shaman in annoyance and Jaune had to sigh in response.
At this point Jaune liked to think that they had been through so many things together that the rivalry between Ren and Whitley had already calmed down completely and they only argued with each other out of habit or to simply pass the time.
It didn't stop those fights from being incredibly exhausting for him however.
"Guys, please don't have any heated arguments right before our very first fight together." Chocolove said with a somewhat serious and solemn tone for a few seconds before grinning widely after everyone had already assumed that this wasn't a terrible joke. "We wouldn't want our nice audience to experience a meltdown, would we?"
Six loud groans echoed at once right before the southern entrance of the arena.
"Please don't tell any jokes during our fight or I will hit you with my Over Soul." Whitley said with a pained expression on his face.
Before anyone could respond to the Schnee shaman however, the entrance gate of the arena shifted slowly, granting them access to the arena. They knew that it technically wasn't the beginning of their fight yet as the countdown hadn't started yet and the other team had yet to arrive as well but now their fight was as close to happening as it possibly could.
"Well, looks like this is our invitation." Jaune stretched a little before taking the first step towards the arena. "Are you guys ready?"
The response he got were three loud shouts of readiness followed by the sounds of light footsteps walking right behind him. There was no point in turning around to know the answer his friends had to his question.
Smiles on their faces were wide and honest as excitement and nervousness brutally battled inside them to decide which one of them should they feel at this very moment.
Loud cheers exploded from the audience, and Jaune was pretty sure he heard a couple of people calling out his name specifically, but all members of their team knew, from watching the previous fight, that real noise would start only after their introduction.
A small laugh escaped Jaune in response to the cheering.
Well, there wasn't any point in worrying about some noise right now, they had a fight to win.
And cut!
The name Singer's Revenge for Sharona's team came from the fact that etymology of the name Sharona has its origin in 'Sing' and their current goal is to take revenge on Hao. I also hope that I didn't made them too annoying in this chapter.
It's kinda awkward to say it, especially right after the long break, but there probably won't be any update the next week because I will be visiting my family.
See ya!
