Post War Bonus Story: A New Dawn

Bet you didn't expect so soon of an update, huh? Well, I thought I'd put out a little epilogue to wrap up the Gjira Saga, set a few days after the battle. I hope you'll like it.

Eo5494: Thank you so much. That means a lot. I hope you're ready for what madness lies ahead.

1602jaw: Thanks. We've really come a long way, huh? It truly was a grand finale to this epic arc.

NondescriptNorbert: I appreciate your words. I truly put my heart and soul into wrapping up everything with Gjira. As for Geralt having quite a presence, since he's making a comeback in 3, I thought I'd let him shine a little bit. The Aegis of Anarchy are set to be a big threat, but for now, we don't have to worry about that. It's smooth sailing from now until the finale.

thenewsubwayguy: Thank you. The next episode is sure to be wacky, especially after everything serious that went down. I think we all need some laughs at these guys' expense.

That guy: I'm glad it lived up to the hype. Truly *chef's kiss*

Happiness studios: Oh boy, here we go. Regardless of my hard work, I still expected a lot of complaints. Joe might be a flat character to some, but if he's a Mary Sue, then so are the other remaining contestants. He's busted his butt to get here. Even if a bit timid, he's a nice guy that's put his neck on the line for his friends. He's no longer an underdog. I'll be honest, he was planned to be eliminated around the time of Quahog, but a bunch of other plots and arcs took center stage for the story, so things got a bit crazy. He and the others are deserving to be here. I was hesitant about killing off a character, but Giovanni was definitely more than a plot device. I don't have all the time in the world to argue all of this. I gave it my all to write this chapter, pouring so much heart and soul into it. Hopefully you'll find more stuff to like in the future. I'm sorry you felt so mixed, compared to everyone else. I'm not a perfect writer, no one is. End of story.

TheHiddenAuthor5000: She sure is.

Puzzlefan 123: Huh. That's a good point. Did not realize that until you pointed it out.

And now, I hope you all enjoy.

(SCP Foundation: Site 19)

We see the newly rebuilt Site 19, the SCP Foundation's most renowned base of operations. Most SCPs were found and placed back in containment, with a few as of yet retrieved ones set to be recaptured.

We see the facility's four newest inmates. Their containment cells were next to each other, and other the highest of security.

We first look inside Kogus's cell. The ape man was busy shoveling a mountain of fruits into his mouth. (The guy had the biggest appetite of the three.)

He looks at the wall in irritation. He pounds the wall angrily.

"SHADDUP, SURA! I CAN'T GORGE WITH YOUR CONSTANT WHINING!"

In the cell next to his was Sura, throwing a childlike tantrum. She failed on the ground, wailing and crying like the spoiled brat she is.

"IT'S NOT FAAAAAAAAAIR!" She whined. "I SHOULD'VE WON AGAINST THEM! WE'RE THE BEST! ONE OF YOU PLEB WORKERS GET ME OUTTA HERE THIS INSTANT!"

She looks at a few small pictures she had thumbtacked to the wall. There was a photo of Edward, Tari, and Katakuri.

"When I get out of here, you three are dead! You blonde runt! You blue haired science experiment! And you!"

Her gaze lingers on Katakuri.

"You should've let me win, you fugly pelican eel! Someone as ugly as you doesn't deserve to live, let alone be happy! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

She takes his picture and bites into it with rage.

Next to her cell was Ghido's. Ghido sat leaned on the wall, deep in thought. He was greatly upset at his loss, feeling like he let Gjira down.

"Gjira….." He says to the wall behind him. "I'm sorry. I couldn't keep my promise. You must be wishing I was dead. To be honest, so do I."

We then look into Gjira's cell. The once powerful tyrant was still a bone thin, shriveled husk of what he used to be. Still, he was heavily restrained with highly reinforced chains. Still, he was awake.

"Don't think like that, Ghido." Gjira gruffly tells him. "I'm no longer unbeatable, and I feel more alive than ever. Dying is the last thing I want right now. Listen closely, my boy…."

"One day, hopefully, I'll break free and we'll begin our conquest anew. And we've got a couple of diabolical ladies I want revenge on. And maybe I'll have a rematch with the Hero of Happiness one day as well. Who knows? But as your master…..I order you to be the best you that you can be. Instead of being the best, be just my loyal number two. Don't worry about what I think, just think about you. You got that, Ghido?"

In his cell, Ghido was silently crying, but they were tears of happiness.

"I will…..Gjira."

(Garreg Mach Monastery)

All of the students were in the dining hall, celebrating Dimitri's victory in the war against Gjira. Everyone laughed, chatted, and ate to their heart's content. (Especially Ingrid and Raphael on that last one.)

Dimitri recounted the events of the fight while he ate, while some of them listened on in amazement.

"No way!" Dorothea gasped. "So Bern was also quite the badass as well, I see?"

"She was." Dimitri answered. "Despite her timid nature, she proved to be a fine warrior."

"So what happened next?!" Caspar asked excitedly. "Did you give Gjira what for?!"

"Well…" Dimitri began.

Suddenly, Ashe and Dedue come by with more food.

"We hope you're all still hungry!" Ashe said. "We've got plenty more where that came from."

"You need to eat and refuel, your highness." Dedue said. "You faced quite the challenge."

"You're right."

Dimitri stands up and raises a glass. "Everyone, I would like to dedicate all of this to Edward Elric and his friends. May they be remembered as heroes of Fodlan as well as our dear friends."

They all toast to his speech. Meanwhile, Edelgard and Hubert stand by the wall, watching the festivities."

"Hard to believe, isn't it, Lady Edelgard?" Hubert asked.

"Yes." Edelgard answered. "He wiped out all of the Agarthans. Even Thales. While I am joyful at their downfall, I'm still a bit concerned. He's quite strong. Maybe too strong."

"Perhaps there could be a way to convince him to join our cause?" Hubert suggested. "I know you have trust issues, but think of the possibilities. We could reason with him."

"I'll…..keep it in mind, at least." Edelgard said with a bit of hesitation.

(The Grand Plunderer)

We now transition to Cecil's flying pirate ship. The crew are having a party around the dinner table.

"We really did good, captain!" A silver haired woman cheered.

"Now we're truly unbeatable!" A small, blue snail person said.

"So…what's our next course of action?" A guy with an 8 Ball for a head asked.

"We'll gather more power, Hachima." Ceci said while drinking back some grog. "Especially for some of ya. I may be at my peak, but the rest of you should be! Trust me! Soon, the whole multiverse will be mine, and I'll take it for all she's got! Geheheheheheh!"

Lastly, we open up in a serene world. A blue sky and clouds could all be seen as Tari, Edward, and Theo were walking. Edward looked around in amazement. Tari summoned a couch out of pixels, and the trio sat down.

"So this is your server, huh?" Edward asked. "It's….interesting."

"Yeah….." Tari said. "Sorry I never had the chance to show you. This was all before we ever met. Honestly, I'm surprised my friends found a way to send Theo to me."

"So…you can't exactly be back in your world either, huh?" Edward glumly asked, feeling a bit bad for her.

"Yeah….." Tari said with a hint of sadness, but quickly changed her tune. "But we can still go and visit our friends whenever. We're at least stable enough for that. The multiverse works in weird ways."

"Yep." Edward kicks back and begins to think. "If it makes you feel any better, I can't even get back to the world I came from either. It's a long story, but me and my brother got stuck on another world, and can't go back. But you're right, they're the best friends we could ever have. Joining this show...I think was a good choice."

He thinks about all of the friends they've made on Total Drama. Wendy, Katakuri, Deadpool, Charlie, Kiryu, Meggy...Giovanni. That last one really stung. Tari could tell he was thinking about him.

"I miss him, too." Tari said. "But at the end of the day, he would've wanted the both of us to be happy. You're happy, right?"

Edward nods. "I am. The world is as peaceful as it can be. Everyone else is alive and well. I'd say there's very little to be sad about. For the first time in a long time, I'm truly at peace. All I can say is…..thank you, Boss. We'll never forget you."

Tari smiles at this, but then remembers something.

"Also…how do you feel about that "offer" the Foundation gave us earlier?"

Edward remembers them and Rick's meeting with the O5 Council earlier that day.

"I was a bit apprehensive of it at first, but I don't see a problem in accepting the deal. I think it'll be quite fun. Plus, we could still see him."

"We should let everyone know about it the next time we meet up with them." Theo said. "I think they'll be excited."

"Sounds like a plan, little guy. We'll have to see them for the aftermath soon anyway. Heard they invited quite a few guests for that one."

"So….what do you want to do now?" Tari asked.

Ed thinks it over for a second. "You know what? Let's play some video games. I'm sure I'll kick your butt this time."

Tari snaps her fingers, and a large TV screen, complete with a console and controllers appear in front of them.

"In your dreams." She teases. "After that, I want to see if you'll teach me a bit of alchemy. You promised me a long time ago you'd do that. Remember?"

"Heh. Guess I did. Got a bit distracted with all the Gjira stuff. Consider it a date."

The three of them share a laugh as they boot up the game. For the first time in so long, they could relax with each other. Laugh with each other. Cry with each other. And most importantly….feel free.

Thank you for reading this little side chapter. Basically, this serves as an epilogue to the Gjira Saga. Gjira and his crew are under Foundation custody, the students of Garreg Mach celebrate, as well as Cecil and his crew (albeit for different reasons.), and Edward and Tari finally have time to breathe a sigh of relief now that they've saved the world.

Now yes, I did incorporate the finale of Meta Runner into this, which was released earlier today. While it was a bittersweet ending, it was still a great story, beginning to end. So I decided that for Tari, the whole events of Meta Runner happened before competing on Total Drama. She may not be able to go back into her literal world , but the multiverse is strange like that. She still has many friends she can visit, and other worlds to see. Same goes for Ed, as he can't get back to his world either. (Specifically set after the events of the film Conqueror of Shamballa). But they're not alone. They can still visit their friends they've made on the show and many other worlds.

What was it the Foundation talked to them about? Next time we see them, you'll find out.

For now, I'm back to working on the next episode, but I hope you liked this little epilogue to wrap up the story arc we've been in for so long. Until next time, this is MemeKing, signing off.
