"You stole that too!" said Kim

"Replaced it. The original was too dangerous to leave where it was," said Ron

"That I can agree," said Bonnie

Another Beginning

Chapter 8

"All the items I collected are in this ship, along with that top-secret Centurion project. Rufus and I went on many solo missions to stop the villains before they knew they were stopped. Then came the time that I met Mai and Janus. It was after the time we volunteered for the Sunshine Spreaders Kp?" asked Ron

"When the two of you started dating?" said Kim, and Ron nodded.

"Yes, I got another letter that told me to find another mystical statue. This one was in two pieces, and I will find the first piece in the Tri-City Museum," said Ron

"That was you?" said Kim standing.

"Yes, it was him. There is a reason I asked him to remove it. The two pieces were pieces of a time monkey statue, and I didn't want the villains getting their hands on it in this dimension. In mine dimension, they had created a lot of trouble before they were captured," said Mai, and Kim just sat down and nodded.

"I found the second half hidden in the Australian outback. While I was heading home and thinking about what these statues were for and why I had to find them quickly. Then I wondered who it was that was sending me the letters, Rufus and I died for the first time," said Ron

"How?" said Kim.

"Rufus and I were catching up on some sleep when we returned home, with Rufus curled up in my pocket. Then I started to smell gas filling the plane as the engine started making weird noises. The plane engine burst into flames. Then the plane headed for the sea as fire began to fill the cabin. I thought I was lucky as the plane crashed belly-first onto the surf, putting out the fire. Rufus and thought I had managed to get out and crawled onto the beach before the plane exploded," said Ron

"

The truth was something more final. Ron and

the pilot were unconscious, and the plane crashed nose-first, killing everyone. I resurrected Ron and Rufus in a new body and placed them back on the island with a new memory of what happened," said Mai

"If you were on that Island, who was it that helped me?" said Kim.

"Time monkey?" said Ron, and Kim nodded,

"So how did you die the first time?" said Kim to Tara

"When I was in the Pegasus Galaxy, plasma blast to the face," said Tara.

"Ouch!" said Bonnie

"Hurt like hell," said Tara

"I bet it did," said Kim

"When we woke up, I realized we were stranded and alone on the island, wondering how I would get home. Rufus stuck his head out of his pocket, then closed his eyes and returned back inside my pocket. I quickly looked around and decided to join Rufus, finding a nice area to nap. The next day, as we started walking along the beach, we believed we were on a small desert island. I remembered my survival lessons telling me that the first thing I had to do was find water. So I started walking along the beach. A few minutes later, I came across the steel box with the two pieces of the statue. At least they had survived. I put the box under a tree and kept searching for water. I had to walk almost completely around the island before we found a freshwater creek. I would have found it quicker if I had gone the other way around the island. At least I found some wild fruits and coconuts to eat," said Ron

"So where is Rufus now?" asked Kim

"Shego is watching him," said Mia

"What!" said Kim as she started to get angry.

"Rufus is helping her to get ready to take on the alliance," said Tara

"So take it easy and let me finish, okay?" said Ron, and she nodded, red-faced and angry, "Anyway, Rufus jumped out of my pocket, squeaking, "Water, water, water," and we both had a drink. After we were refreshed, Rufus began to run towards a cave. I stopped him before he could go any further and said there might be no humans here, but there could be a predator or two. He stopped and ran back and climbed into my pocket again. I strolled towards the cave and saw it was safe, so we decided to use it as a shelter. We slept on a ledge at the back of the cave that second night," said Ron

"You did good finding the fruit?" said Kim

"Sometimes, there is nothing but coconuts on those islands," said Bonnie

"Good thing is we didn't stay on that island too long. On the third day, I buried the pilot, made a fire, and, silly enough, placed the fire outside the cave so I could sleep without getting smoked out. That night it rained, putting out the fire. For the second fire, I had placed the fire just inside the front of the cave under an overhang, sending the smoke out of the cave instead of in," said Ron

"How long were you there for?" asked Bonnie

"About four or five weeks, I think. By the end of the second week, I had the cave all decked out with all the comforts of home. All thanks to a large shipping container full of household stuff that had washed up on the shore, it must have had all of someone's household stuff inside. There was a lounge, table, chairs, and even a broken bed that I managed to repair. Also, I tried to make a small raft out of a few broken canoe to try and get off the island, but after, it sank. I tried to take it back to shore when this huge shark came swimming close to the raft, so I decided to do away with that idea," said Ron

"I would have done the same," said Bonnie

"Me too," said Tara

"After giving up on ever being found, I decided to explore the cave higher up on the island's only mountain. The cave system was vast, and it took me almost four days to explore. On the second day of exploring it, I found a large chamber in the back of the fourth cave tunnel. Using a fire torch, I searched the chamber and found that one side had a metal wall, while the other was just a normal rock cave with a ten-foot high ceiling. I decided to follow the cave first, and it came out on the beach on the other side of the island," said Ron

"So what was the metal wall all about?" asked Bonnie

"It turned out to be a door that was half buried in the sand. As I ran my hand over the exposed part of the door, I found nothing that could open the door. The only way to see behind that door was to remove the sand and rubble to see if I could open it. I found a few old digging tools in the container and began digging. It took me two days to remove all that sand and rock from the door until I found a small panel about chest high. After opening the panel, I found a red and green button, so I pressed the green one, and the door slid open," said Ron

"That sounded far too easy?" said Bonnie

"Pretty much what I was thinking, too," said Ron.

"Until I told him I designed that way, I wasn't expecting him to arrive there so soon and hadn't cleaned the chamber out. I was going to wait for another year before inviting him to the island, then he died," said Mai

"Anyway, I found myself inside a single room with a large grey metal ring and a peddle stool with a red button. At that time, I was confused as to what it was," said Ron as Mai showed the three girls the Stargate,

"That's a stargate," said Tara

"A what?" asked Bonnie

"A stargate, the same thing Mai found on that other earth," said Kim

"Oh!" said Bonnie

"With Rufus sitting on my shoulders, telling me to press the button. I told him it looked like your typical destruct button, and I didn't want to blow the island up. Then I thought it might be a chance to get off the island. So I quickly hit the button, and then there was this swoosh as a fountain of light that looked more like a sideways water fountain than anything else.

Rufus dived into my pocket as it scared him more than some of the missions we had been on. At that point, all I wanted to do was to run back to the beach and fight that shark to get the canoe back," said Ron. Mai knew the girls hadn't seen a Stargate in action, so he played a video of one activating.

"Crap!" said Bonnie

"I would have run myself seeing that," said Kim

"By the time I had calmed down, something was telling me to step through it. Rufus stuck his head out and looked at the surface that looked like a pond, and slowly returned to my shoulder and pointed to the ring. I nodded and walked into the pool of light. I didn't know it then, but when I walked out on the other side, I felt cold and a little sick. When I felt okay again, I saw that we were in a more modern space-age room with screens and keypads and a long corridor stretching away forever. I was wondering if I should go back to the island if it would let me?" said Ron

"You could have returned to the island. That Stargate was a two-way gate that only connected the island to this ship at the time," said Mai

"What if someone else found this stargate before Ron?" said Kim

"Remember, I had already resurrected them and placed them on the island. After he used the Stargate, I removed it and stored it back in the ship," said Mia.

"But why put him back on the island in the first place? Why not just have him wake up in the tubs?" asked Kim.

"I wanted him to use his skills to find the Stargate. Also, I didn't want him to go nuts like I used to," said Mai.

"Oh!" said Kim.

"Anyway, I walked to the end of the corridor and passed all rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, school rooms, and even a gym and swimming pool. It looked like a corridor from any villain's lair but a more modern and space-age one. Well, it did look more space age than anything I had seen," said Ron

"It does look like the many lairs we been in?" said Kim.

"All down to a rock wall that I notice through a window, but when I finally reach the door, it opens automatically and saw all this, and I nearly passed out," said Ron

"I froze for a few minutes," said Bonnie

"As soon I saw those large windows and a sky full of stars, I almost fainted," said Kim

"What I saw at the time was more rock, and I thought I was still on the rocky part of the island! Then all these display panels started to come on by themselves. A hologram figure appeared in the middle of the room and started to speak with me," said Ron

"I have recorded that meeting, and It may be better if I played it for you," said Mai
