Chapter Eight

Arisato was pulled into the brig of the USS Obama, uncuffed, still in her old clothes. Section was rather surprised to see her in such a state, with Sakamoto and Torres standing beside her.

"What happened?" Section asked, more demanding an answer than asking.

"She's working as an informant now." Sakamoto stated. "She realized some very heavy things and switched sides."

"If I can't bring him back, I can at least ease my brother's burden." She stated. "The best thing you can do to save the ship is submerge him in water, waterboard him if you must."

"I'm not sure that would go over well." Section sighed. "The best we can do officially is psychological warfare."

"Gag him, blind him, plug his nose, and leave him in a room with only the sound of dripping water." Arisato stated. "It's my favorite torture method."

"I'm not surprised you have one…" Section groaned. As for the interrogation, it wasn't going well. He refused to speak with anyone but Section, even after Salazar issued a beating.

"Fine, I'm going to go talk to him." Section sighed.

"I'm gonna have a chat with my sister." Torres yawned. "Call me if you need me." Torres left as Section entered the interrogation chamber. Arisato and Sakamoto stood outside, watching as Section took a seat.

"I'm not a little kid this time, but you can try what you did then." Section stated.

"Opulence is sin, and we all pay for it." Was all Menendez said.

"Self indulgent piece of shit, stop speaking in riddles!" Section yelled.

"She was taken from me. Do you know what that feels like yet?" Menedez asked. "An American torched the warehouse for insurance money. Eleven thousand dollars, that's the value they placed on her life. She was the reason for me to live. What about you, David? What drives you to live? Is it, perhaps, me? Einstein once said that the economic anarchy of capitalism is the true source of evil. Your father and his people took Josephina from me. Pues… tu papá está muerto. Your father, and his people, are finished." A video came onto Section's hud, and a notice from Briggs.

"Yeah, go ahead." Section sighed.

"We have a situation, a passenger jet just flew into the Obama's airspace." Briggs stated. "Wait, are those birds?" Several red blips came out of the jet.

"I mete and dole unequal laws unto a savage race." Menendez smirked.

"Shit, we're under attack!" Section yelled, turning to Salazar. "If he so much as moves an inch you put a bullet in his head, you got me?!" Section ran to the door, calling for a guard. As he explained the situation, a bullet ripped through the guard's head, from beside him. Section faced Menendez.

"I will not kill you David." Menendez began. "But if you do not put your weapon down I will kill your friend, you have five seconds to decide."

"How did you even..?" Section mumbled. However, he still set his gun down, opting not to anger the terrorist with a hostage.

"Now, turn around and put on the handcuffs." Menendez ordered. Section did so, passing out when Menendez smacked him on the back of the head. He passed out, waking up a few moments later, Sakamoto was beside him, as was Arisato and Salazar. Salazar helped him up, stressing the attack, but Arisato seemed rather distracted. She approached Salazar, pinning him to the wall and smelling him like an animal.

"You don't smell like the other sailors…" Arisato grumbled, backing away from Salazar.

"We need to arm up." Sakamoto stated. "Torres is on the bridge, he's securing it from all angles, no way in or out."

"How many hostiles?" Section asked.

"Too fucking many." Sakamoto smirked as he opened the armory. "Pick your poison." Section grabbed a Vector and a Five Seven as Everyone else gathered their own equipment.

"Alright, we need to get to the bridge and get the CIWIS back online." Section stated.

"I believe I can be of assistance." Arisato stated. "See, Menendez plans around people knowing how he thinks. He knows we'd take a direct route to the bridge, and he knows that we know he knows that. So, we need to do the exact opposite of what he expects you to do."

"So take an indirect route?" Salazar asked.

"Precisely." Arisato stated. "I have a Perseus strike team on standby, let me know if you need them."

"I'll let you know." Section stated. Stepping out, the team immediately had to dive into cover as a group of Cordis Die began firing at them, as well as one of the ship's auto turrets. As Section began planning, Arisato broke out into laughter as she sprayed a pair of Kalashnikov's into the terrorists and the turret.

"Sometimes, logic fails, you'll need to be more sensory…" Arisato smirked.

"Well, I'm not a mentally ill terrorist, so I wouldn't know." Section hissed as he moved up. The group moved carefully and methodically through the ship, with the exception of Arisato who regularly went hog wild, gunning down waves of Cordis Die as they moved. Soon enough, they were outside of the Bridge, Salazar having already gone there to ensure Briggs, Torres, and Karma's safety. The rest of the team entered the server room, where a sailor was already cutting open a grate to the bridge. A security camera's footage showed Menendez, staring directly at the camera, smirking.

"Shit, something's wrong…" Section muttered. Just then, he realized Brigg's plan, he was going to reset the system to shut down the automated security, which would allow Menendez into the bridge. The next few moments were a blur. Menendez took Brigg's hostage. He ordered Salazar to shoot him. Then, Salazar showed his true colors.

"Shit, task force Janus, get to the bridge now! Double time it!" Arisato shouted. Salazar had shot two sailors, then fired at Karma, but Farid took the bullet. Karma tried stopping him, but Salazar tossed her aside, slamming her head into a glass wall, blood dripping from her head. He was about to shoot Torres as he rushed to her, but Menendez stopped him.

"He will know what I suffered through." Menendez stated as he sat at a control terminal. He did something to it, allowing him access to the US drone fleet. The bastard wanted to be captured, just as Section thought. Now, Menendez could send drones to every capitalist city in the world and kill millions, blaming the US for every single death. Menendez was able to escape before Arisato's strike team or he and Sakamoto could arrive. Torres was crying over Karma's body.

"Please Chloe, say something…" He begged.

"Micheal, I am so sorry…" Sakamoto assured him, crouching next to him.

"I'm going to kill every last member of Cordis Die." Torres hissed. "Then, I'm going to make sure Menendez suffers."

"We need to get a trace on where Menendez is broadcasting from." Section stated. Sakamoto got up.

"I think it's time you hear from the 141's hacker, unfortunately." Sakamoto sighed, setting up an old tablet.

"Ayo, it's Oracle." Oracle stated over the radio. "Whatchu need, Ryuji?"

"Feel like hacking the US government?" Sakamoto asked. "Need you to get a trace on Raul Menendez."

"Anything else?" Oracle asked.

"Why don't you prepare a Futaba cannon?" Sakamoto asked.

"Well, Menendez did try and recruit some big figures in the Japanese government, even Ren, what are you thinking?" Oracle responded. Arisato picked up the tablet.

"Ah, you must be Task Force 141's hacker, the former Phantom Thief." Arisato stated. "I want you to tell the world the truth, that Raul Menendez is not, infact, a communist. Just a sad old man clinging onto the past."

"Okay… I'll get the guys together and see what we can do. Of course, you won't need to be there, Ryuji, gotta go save the world and all." Futaba responded. "I'll tell the other Phantom thieves that you said hi." The call disconnected as a hacker warning immediately came on the screen. Sakamoto had his face buried in his palm.

"What did she mean by other Phantom Thieves?" Section asked.

"That's why I didn't want to call her…" Sakamoto sighed. "Long story short, I used to be a phantom thief."

"Called it." Torres sadly chuckled.

"It's complicated, we need to get out of here." Sakamoto sighed.

"I'm taking her body with me." Torres stated. "I'm giving her a viking burial, she would have wanted it…" Section walked up to Torres, patting him on the back.

"I'm sorry you're going through this." He sighed. Torres gave a slight glare to Section.

"Help me kill Menendez." He pleaded. "That bastard has to pay." Section helped Torres carry Karma's body. They quickly encountered Salazar, who they forced to help Torres prepare a burial for. When all was said and done, Torres shot him in the head, dumping the body in the sea. When the group got to the deck, a glorious sight awaited them. Not only did more navy and even some Coast Guard arrive to help, but China sent J-20's to gun down drones Menendez sent to the Obama. At last, it seemed things were going right for once.

A/N: Well, two chapters left and an epilouge, hope you enjoyed! Oh, by the way, I just played Far Cry Six, so, I have to know, when I do a Far Cry entry in the series, do you want it to be five or six? Or maybe both? Five would involve Ryuji's son, while six would be the US, Japan, and UK offer support for Libertad, you chose!
