House of Trackers:
The next day on all the Anubis residents were already at school, Aaron, Alfie and Eddie were walking down the hallway discussing the plan.
"So you go get the stuff after school?" Asked Eddie.
"Yeah," said Alfie.
"Good," said Eddie.
"KT," said Aaron, as KT passed by.
But KT ignored Aaron and walked right past him.
"I think the temperature just dropped, because she's freezing you out," joked Alfie.
"Is she still mad at you?" Asked Eddie.
"I'm afraid so," said Aaron.
"But you know women, they'll forget about it in no time," said Alfie.
"Then you don't know KT," said Aaron.
Aaron walked up to KT, who was standing by her locker.
"I understand you're upset," said Aaron.
KT closed her locker and was about to walk away.
"Now don't be childish and ignore me, because I really can't stand that," said Aaron.
"Now you think it's childish and what you're doing is not childish," said KT, as she stopped walking and turned to Aaron.
"I know now you think I'm not the best boyfriend, but I want to make it up to you," said Aaron.
"Well, you can," said KT.
"Well, how?" Asked Aaron.
"It's simple, you've to let me in the club," said KT.
"Nope, it's not gonna happen," said Aaron.
"So you don't want to make it up to me?" Asked KT.
"KT I'm not doing this to punish you," said Aaron.
"You're not? It sure looks like it," said KT.
KT gave Aaron an angry look and walked away angry.
In the meantime at the cottage in the woods. Rufus was sleeping, but was awakened by strange noises. Rufus looked to the floor and saw the golden cobra appear.
"NO!" yelled Rufus.
Then Rufus woke up and he realized that he had been dreaming. And then Rufus saw that Omar was sitting next to his bed.
"I've very bad news, Joy is nowhere to be found," said Omar.
"Watch out for the cobra! Beware of the cobra!" Yelled Rufus.
"Cobra? What cobra are you talking about?" Asked Omar.
Rufus picked up his book and handed it to Omar on the page with the image of the cobra.
"Is this what you mean? A picture of a snake?" Asked Omar.
"It is the symbol of the cobra," said Rufus.
"What does it mean?" Asked Omar.
"It is the symbol of Ankhesenamun," said Rufus.
"Ankhese who now?" Asked Omar.
"Ankhesenamun, the wife of Tutankhamun," said Rufus.
"But what does that have to do with the snake?" Asked Omar.
"It is the symbol of the cobra," said Rufus.
"What does it have to do with?" Asked Omar.
"It says so right here in my father's journal," said Rufus.
Rufus handed Omar his father's diary and Omar began to read. And when he finished he looked at Rufus.
"And this is what you're afraid of? A nonsense story," said Omar.
"I would be careful if I were you, the cobra is real and will do anything to fulfill its mission, said Rufus.
A few hours later and school was over. Nina was in the kitchen making some sandwiches for the club. Isaac came into the kitchen.
"Good afternoon," said Isaac.
"Hello," said Nina.
"You're not skipping school, are you?" Asked Isaac.
"No, we had a short school day," said Nina.
"All right," said Isaac.
"Don't you have a photo shoot and interview at school now?" Asked Nina.
"Unfortunately," said Isaac.
"How come unfortunately? You look great," said Nina.
"Thank you for the compliment, but I feel incredibly nervous," said Isaac.
"You'll do great," said Nina.
"Thank you very much," said Isaac.
"I'll bring Delphi something to eat later," said Nina.
Isaac nodded his head and then he saw the key hanging around Nina's neck.
"Is that a key?" Asked Isaac.
"Yes," said Nina.
"You know what they say," said Isaac.
"What?" Asked Nina.
"The door to the future is the key to the past," said Isaac.
Isaac walked away leaving Nina puzzled, again Isaac had said the same thing as Sarah. Nina grabbed the plate with the sandwiches and walked upstairs. When Nina entered the room the rest of the club was already there. Patricia and Amber were sitting on Amber's bed and Aaron and Alfie were busy connecting the equipment.
"How is the plan going?" Asked Nina.
"Joy just needs to make contact with Omar and then we'll get started," said Eddie.
"Okay, so Aaron, Eddie and I will go after Joy," said Nina.
"Once Alfie has a signal he'll tell us where to go and we'll end up at Rufus and Omar's hideout," said Eddie.
"You cool with that Aaron?" Asked Nina.
"Yeah," said Aaron.
"I thought you wanted to stay KT," said Amber.
"KT wants to be left alone for a while," said Aaron.
"KT is mad at him because he won't let her join the club," said Alfie.
"It's for her own safety," said Aaron.
"And that's not important right now, getting the mini house back is," said Eddie.
Joy walked into the room and everybody was looking at her.
"It worked. I've an appointment with Omar," said Joy.
"Good," said Eddie.
"When is this going happen?" Asked Patricia.
"In a half an hour," said Joy.
"Alfie, can you get that device working in 20 minutes?" Asked Eddie.
"In zero minutes because I'm done," said Alfie.
"You are?" Asked Eddie.
"Yeah, well, Super Alfie did a pretty quick job," said Alfie.
"Great, let's go and get the mini house back," said Eddie.
"I just need to attach the tracker to the artifact and we're ready to go," said Alfie.
"Okay, let's go over the plan one more time. Joy gives Omar the artifact with the tracker on it and then you guys can see where he is going," said Eddie.
In the meantime at school. Otis was doing Isaac's photo shoot, while Mara and Jerome were watching.
"Am I doing all right?" Asked Isaac.
"Yes, very well," said Otis.
"Be honest if I'm not, said Isaac.
"If I take the pictures then they will be good," said Otis.
"Yeah, you could be on Kenya's Next Top Model," joked Jerome.
"Don't mind them, you're doing great and you look fantastic," said Mara.
"You think so?" Asked Isaac.
"Definitely, we'll get the money in no time," said Mara.
Isaac got a smile on his face and Otis continued taking pictures.
Later that day. Eddie and Joy were near the place where Joy would meet Omar. Nina and Aaron were hiding in bushes a little further up, keeping an eye on everything.
"Are you ready?" Asked Eddie.
"I think so," said Joy.
"This should go well, so don't go doing anything stupid," said Eddie.
"All right, then," said Joy.
"Good luck," said Eddie.
"Thank you," said Joy.
Joy walked away and went to the meeting place. Eddie grabbed his walkie-talkie from his pocket and contacted Alfie.
"Alfie do you hear me, over?" Asked Eddie.
"Super Alfie can hear you loud and clear, over," said Alfie.
"Joy is on her way, over," said Eddie.
"I'm receiving her signal crystal clear, over," said Alfie.
"Very nice. Over and out," said Eddie.
Alfie put the microphone away and focused on the screen.
"Do you think they can do it?" Asked Patricia.
"If Joy doesn't say anything to Omar," said Amber.
'Why would she say anything to Omar?" Asked Patricia.
"She works for Rufus Zeno, Omar works for Rufus Zeno, won't be the first time she's told him things," said Amber.
"Come on, Amber, Joy is not gonna betray us again," said Patricia.
"I highly doubt that to be honest," said Amber.
"We shouldn't even be focusing on this right now," said Patricia.
"Be honest, Patricia, can you understand why Joy did this?" Asked Amber.
"She did it to help Otis, she loves him and she didn't want to see him get hurt," said Patricia.
"But can you forgive her for what she did?" Asked Amber.
Patricia didn't have an answer for this and honestly she wasn't sure if she could forgive Joy for her betrayal.
In the meantime, Joy was waiting for Omar at the appointed place. Joy paced back and forth with the fake artifact in her hands. Omar approached and stood behind Joy. Joy turned around and was startled as soon as she saw Omar standing there.
"You never learn," said Omar.
"Why do you always have to scare me like that?" Asked Joy.
"Do you have the artifact?" Asked Omar.
Joy said nothing and handed the artifact bottle to Omar. Joy breathed a sigh of relief and got a little smile on her face and Omar saw that and found Joy suspicious.
"Why now?" Asked Omar.
"What do you mean?" Asked Joy.
"I haven't spoken to you since the funeral and now suddenly you're approaching me, that's quite unusual of you," said Omar.
"I only found that thing a few days ago," said Joy.
"But you're done with it, right? You didn't want to betray your friends again," said Omar.
"They're not my friends anymore," said Joy.
"Are they on to you? They finally figured out they got a rat in the club," said Omar.
"Yes, I'm out and I've made up my mind and choose for myself," said Joy.
"You're a wiser girl than I thought you'd be," said Omar.
Omar walked away and Joy breathed a sigh of relief. Nina, Aaron and Eddie came out of their hiding spot and walked over to Joy.
"That's Omar, this is what his face looks like," said Nina.
"He took it," said Joy.
"Let's move on to the next phase," said Eddie.
Eddie took the walkie-talkie out of his pocket and made contact with Alfie.
"He took the bait, Omar is on the move, over," said Eddie.
"And we have visual, over," said Alfie.
Alfie held out his hands and Amber and Patricia gave him a low five.
A few moments later. Otis had finished taking pictures of Isaac and was working with him to clean everything up. When Otis and Isaac finished cleaning up, Otis showed the pictures to Isaac.
"I look pretty good in them and I'm not that photogenic," said Isaac.
"It's not bad," said Otis.
"You're talented, Otis," said Isaac.
"Thank you for saying that," said Otis.
"Are you okay?" Asked Isaac.
"Why do you ask? Why wouldn't I be?" asked Otis.
"Because I think something's on your mind," said Isaac.
"Say better say someone," said Otis
"Is it Joy?" Asked Isaac.
"Yep," said Otis. "I can't understand her anymore. I don't understand how she can do this?"
"Do what?" Asked Isaac.
"She's gone, without saying anything, just leaving me a unclear letter," said Otis.
"And why are you so angry about that?" Asked Isaac.
"Because it doesn't make sense why she is doing this, why did she suddenly leave and give me this excuse?" Asked Otis.
"She must have had her reasons," said Isaac.
"And you know what's even the craziest part of all of this?" Asked Otis.
"No," said Isaac.
"Despite what she's doing now, I just can't stop loving her," said Otis.
"Love is a beautiful and complicated thing," said Isaac.
"Tell me about it," said Otis.
"I can tell you that in the short time I've known Joy that she is indeed a difficult person to understand and she doesn't make it easy for you," said Isaac.
"Exactly," said Otis.
"But what I also found out is that Joy loves you very, very much," said Isaac.
Otis got a smile on his face. At the same time, Mara and Jerome walked into the computer.
"Did you get the pictures?" Asked Mara.
"Yes, I did," said Otis.
"Can we see them?" Asked Mara.
"Sure," said Otis.
Otis grabbed his laptop and showed the pictures to Jerome and Mara.
"This one is good, can you send to me?" Asked Mara
"No problem," said Otis.
Otis send a picture of Isaac to Mara.
"Perfect," said Mara.
"Come on, let's get go and the thing we're going to do with this picture," said Jerome.
"Yeah, come on," said Mara.
"What are you two up to?" Asked Otis.
"That's a surprise. You'll find out later," said Jerome.
Mara and Jerome walked out of the computer lab before Otis and Isaac could ask what else they were up to.
"Do you have any idea what they're up to?" Asked Isaac.
"Not a clue," said Otis.
"Then it will remain a mystery for now," said Isaac.
"Thank you," said Otis.
"For what?" Asked Isaac.
"For cheering me up," said Otis.
"I've only told the truth, I've done nothing more than that," said Isaac.
"Did you think I would ever hear from Joy again?" Asked Otis.
"Time will tell," said Isaac.
In the meantime, Victor Jr. was at Rufus Zeno's cottage; he had just placed the dynamite staffs on the door. Victor jr. walked a little further away and was ready to light fuse of the dynamite until he was distracted by music. Victor jr. let go of the fuse and walked towards the music and then saw an mp-3 player standing in the bushes. Victor jr. turned off the music and looked around to see if he saw anyone, but he saw no one. When Victor jr. walked back to the cottage he saw that the door of the cottage was up.
At the same time in the house. Alfie looked at the screen to see where Omar went. Alfie grabbed the microphone and contacted Eddie.
"He has turned 34 degrees and is now driving in a south westerly direction, over," said Alfie.
"Alfie," said Eddie.
"Yes, over?" Asked Alfie.
"Good job, That tracker working like a charm," said Eddie.
"I told you. The guy at the dump gave me a full door-to-door warranty. Over," said Alfie.
"Alfie, I can't see the car anymore. Which way did it go? Over?" Asked Eddie.
Alfie looked at the screen and it suddenly went black and there was no sound.
What had happened? Why did the screen go black? Did Alfie lose the signal? Did Eddie's plan fail?
