House of Maps:
Nina still couldn't believe that Mason had become a new resident of Anubis house.
"Mason? What are you doing here?" Asked Nina.
"I'm coming to live her, Didn't Victor say anything?" Asked Mason.
"No, Victor didn't say anything," said Trudy.
"That's odd, my dad got in touch with him, I thought you would've heard," said Mason.
"No, I didn't," said Nina.
Everyone turned to look at Victor Sr. as he walked in.
"What are you standing around looking at stupid? This is a boarding school and new students sometimes come, Is that so crazy," said Victor sr.
Trudy glared angerly at Victor sr. as he walked to the cellar.
"Do you think it's a problem? Do I have to leave?" Asked Mason.
"No, of course not, come with me to the living room and we will introduce you to the other residents," said Trudy.
Trudy took Mason and the Sibuna club to the living room where Mara, Jerome and Otis were already sitting.
"Sweeties this is Mason and he is our new resident, please introduce yourselves nicely to him, said Trudy.
"Hi I'm Mara," said Mara, shaking Mason's hand.
"Jerome," said Jerome.
"I'm Otis," said Otis.
"I'm KT," said KT.
"Aaron," said Aaron.
"Patricia," said Patricia.
"Hi I'm Amber, said Amber
"Alfie's the name," said Alfie.
"Nina you already know," said Trudy.
"Yeah," said Mason.
"I'm Eddie," said Eddie.
"Ah so I'm gonna share a room with you," said Mason.
"With me? Trudy, why in my room?" asked Eddie.
"Because apparently Victor took on a new resident without telling me and because the only bed that was free," said Trudy.
"But that's weird, that's Fabian's bed," said Amber.
"Oh, but my sweetie, but Fabian is...," said Trudy.
"I knew Fabian too and I understand perfectly. You know I'll sleep on the couch for a while," said Mason.
"No, that's not necessary, I've another solution. I had prepared the attic for Isaac, but he's not here," so you can sleep in the attic, said Trudy.
"Okay," said Mason.
"Nina, since you know Mason a little bit, would you give him a tour of the house, please?" Asked Trudy.
"Sure thing," said Nina.
And while Nina was giving Mason a tour, Victor Sr. was in the cellar removing the curtain from the mirror. Victor jr. appeared in the mirror.
"Father," said Victor jr.
"Those rotten children, if I get my hands on them I'll pulverize them all. Those little rascals will pay," said Victor sr.
"What are you up to?" Asked Victor jr.
"Me? You mean us. You're going to eavesdrop on those rascals," said Victor sr.
"Can I get out?" Asked Victor jr.
"No, you piece of nothing, through the mirrors of course," said Victor sr.
"But I don't know how," said Victor jr.
"Of course you don't know how. I'll explain it to you and you do exactly as I say, understood," said Victor sr.
Victor Jr. said nothing and Victor Sr. made Corbierre move closer to the cauldron, making Victor jr. feel scared.
"Understood!" Yelled Victor sr.
"Yes, father," said Victor jr.
Victor sr. laughed evilly, while Victor jr. looked hopelessly at Corbierre.
A few moments later and Nina was still giving Mason a tour of the house and they were now arriving in her and Amber's room.
"And this is my room and I share it with Amber," said Nina.
"You've have a lovely room," said Mason.
"Thank you," said Nina. "So, shall we continue the tour?"
"I know it's weird for you," said Mason.
"Oh, no, it's not," said Nina.
"I was hoping Victor would have mentioned something like that," said Mason.
"Well, with Victor, you never know," said Nina.
"And I didn't have your number either," said Mason.
"No, because you were in a hurry at the petting zoo," said Nina.
"My sincerest apologies. I forgot the time. Can you forgive me?" Asked Mason.
"Of course I forgive you," said Nina.
"And even if I didn't, I'm out of here as fast as I can, I'm apparently very good at it," said Mason.
"No, you don't have to leave," said Nina.
"Thank you," said Mason.
"Let me show you the attic," said Nina.
"Yes, please," said Mason.
"And then I'll show you the garden," said Nina.
"That sounds nice," said Mason.
"But first the attic," said Nina.
"Yeah, let's go see what my room looks like," said Mason.
In the meantime Otis was in his room and grabbed the idea bill from his bag, he also grabbed the letter he got from Joy from his drawer and put the two side by side.
"See, I knew it," said Otis.
Otis got up and walked out of his room and went to Jerome's room, where he was with Mara.
"It was Joy," said Otis.
"What was Joy?" Asked Mara.
"The winning idea, the idea of helping Uncle Isaac's village," said Otis.
"But how could that be? Joy is in Greece after all, with her family," said Jerome.
"I don't know how, too, but it was Joy," said Otis.
"How do you know?" Asked Mara.
"The handwriting, this is Joy's handwriting," said Otis.
Otis gave the two pieces of paper to Jerome and Mara and they looked at them.
"They looks pretty similar," said Mara.
"Pretty similar? This exactly Joy's handwriting, said Otis.
"Are you sure about this?" Asked Mara.
"I'll go find her," said Otis.
"In Greece?" Asked Jerome.
"I need to see her," said Otis.
"Otis, Otis, stop," said Jerome.
"No, I need to see Joy. I need to know she's okay," said Otis.
"Otis, what are you thinking? You gonna hop on a plane to Greece and look for Joy," said Jerome.
"That's the idea," said Otis.
"Otis, you will never be able to do it and you know it," said Mara.
"I've got to try," said Otis.
"You sound like a really desperate person right now," said Jerome.
"What am I supposed to do? I mean, it's kind of weird, the note thing," said Otis.
"There's gotta be a logical explanation," said Mara.
"If you know one, you can say so," said Otis.
"I don't know either, but there has to be," said Mara.
Later that day, the club was in Nina and Amber's room.
"This Mason seems like a nice guy," said KT.
"I think he's a little strange," said Patricia.
"Frankly, this Mason dude doesn't interest me, we've other things to discuss," said Eddie.
"Guys, I gotta tell you something," said Nina.
"What is it?" Asked Amber.
"I've been going through those books we found in Rufus Zeno's cottage," said Nina.
"Is that really important right now?" Asked Eddie.
"Yes, what I've read is very important," said Nina.
"What did you find out?" Asked Aaron.
"This is the journal of Gustav Zeno, Rufus's father, and what he wrote is troubling," said Nina.
"What did he write?" Asked Patricia.
"This is what it says," said Nina.
November 16, 1922,
A few days ago I was having a drink with my friend Patrick Denby. Denby told me that he had discovered the tomb of Ankhesenamun, which I personally that was not possible, because no one has ever found it and also I thought it was nonsense, because Denby had been drinking quite a bit, but I decided to listen to his story anyway. So he told me that he found the tomb of Ankhesenamun and that he was face to face with her. But according to many legends, whoever was face to face with Ankhesenamun would not make it out alive, so another reason I didn't quite believe his story. He told me that Ankhesenamun was furious with him and he begged for his life. According to him, Ankhesenamun spared his life if he did something for her and he agreed. It was no secret that Ankhesenamun was angry with her husband Tutankhamun and his secret love Amneris and wanted revenge. And according to the legend she did this by breaking the Ankh into 7 pieces. But Ankhesenamun apparently also knew that Robert wanted to bring Tutankhamun and Amneris together and this made her angry and so now she also wanted revenge on him and so became Denby's task. Denby said that of Ankhesenamun to destroy the bloodline of Frobisher-Smythe and if he will do that, Ankhesenamun will fulfill his greatest wish. At first I didn't think much of it, but now that Robert and his wife Louisa perished, I am beginning to wonder if maybe Denby had something to do with it.
"So does this means that the death of Sarah's parents was not an accident?" Asked Amber.
"The Frobisher-Smythe died in a car crash, right?" Asked Alfie.
"That's what always has been said and the forensic technique wasn't great in the 1920s, so there's no way of finding out now," said Aaron
"Sarah always thought her parents were murdered," said Nina,
"So this Ankhesenamun woman wanted the Frobisher-Smythe family destroyed?" Asked KT.
"Yeah, Nina just read that from the diary," said Amber
"So do I count? I'm the great-granddaughter of Robert Frobisher Smythe after all," said KT.
"Just because something was speculated that Ankhesenamun was out to get revenge on Frobisher-Smythe doesn't mean it's true," said Aaron.
"I'm afraid it does," said Nina.
"What do you mean, Nina?" Asked Aaron.
"In another book I found there was something about Ankhesenamun," said Nina.
"What did it say?" Asked KT.
Nina said nothing and picked up the book and flipped it open on the page of the cobra and showed it to the club and KT.
"That's the cobra I saw after I was attacked," said KT
"It's also the same cobra we saw," said Nina.
"What does the cobra mean?" asked Patricia.
"It's also the symbol of Ankhesenamun," said Nina.
"But does this mean that there are still members of the Denby family left and are after me?" Asked KT.
"I don't know if they are from the Denby family or somebody else," said Nina.
"I feel bad for KT, but we've to focus on other things now. The next task," said Eddie.
"Hey, Eddie, you're being super insensitive right now," said Amber.
"Listen, we've to find the Mask of Anubis or we're dead and we'll never be able to protect KT from that order of Ankhesenamun anyway," said Eddie.
"Then what do you suggest?" Asked Alfie.
"We need to know what to expect," said Eddie.
"We only have the pictures that Nina took, but we don't have any instruction on how to do the new task, said Aaron.
"But whoever has the clue doesn't have the map," said Nina.
"Yes, because we do," said Patricia.
"Where is it, exactly?" Asked Alfie.
"Under my mattress," said Eddie.
A few moments later, a mysterious figure entered Eddie's room and retrieved the map from under his mattress. And at the same time, the club came downstairs. The club entered the room, but there was no sign of the mysterious figure. Eddie pulled up his mattress and saw that the map was gone.
"No, no, no," said Eddie.
"What is it?" Asked Patricia
"The map is gone," said Eddie.
"What?" Asked Nina.
"It was under my mattress and now it's gone," said Eddie.
"Are you sure you put it there?" Asked Nina, as she took a look under Eddie's mattress.
"Of course I'm sure," said Eddie.
"What are we gonna do? Now the map's stolen too and we can't do anything," said Amber.
"We'll go to the cellar," said Eddie.
"Why?" Asked Amber.
"Because that's probably where the map is," said Eddie.
"You don't know that for sure," said Alfie.
"Oh no?" asked Eddie.
"No," said Alfie.
"Who do you think stole it then?" Asked Eddie.
"It could be elves," joked Alfie.
"Yeah, it's very obviously that elves stole the map and not the only possible culprit, named Victor," said Eddie.
"Let's go back to our room and come up with a plan," said Nina.
The club left Eddie's room and went back to Nina and Amber's room. Amber sat down on her bed and her lip-gloss fell and rolled under the bed. Amber knelt down and went looking for her lip-gloss.
"How can I be so stupid, that map is just gone now," said Eddie.
"Yeah, you should have kept it with you," said Alfie.
"I understand that!" yelled Eddie in frustration.
"You guys, calm down. This is pointless," said KT.
"Whaa," yelled Amber.
"What is it?" Asked Nina.
"The map," said Amber, as she held up the map.
Amber put the map down on her bed and the club stood around it. At that same moment, Victor Jr. appeared in the mirror and spied the club.
"What luck," said Alfie.
"Where was it?" Asked Patricia.
"Under my bed," said Amber.
"Guys look, a new clue," said Nina.
How did this new clue get on the map? Did this mysterious figure have anything to do with it? And who is this mysterious figure anyway?
