Chapter 11: Passionately Curious
'-or are you going soft again, hesitating because you feel guilty for killing your own kind, you soon to be Level E-'
Zero clenched his fist in anger, he's so mad that the bastard was right. He let his emotions get involved again even almost half a year after he officially became a hunter. He should have known better. He should have learned his lesson from the first shooting assessment.
He feels so disappointed about himself. He suddenly felt the urge to go away for another three months, or six-no make it a year, just to train some more. At this rate, if he cannot properly hunt Level E's, he'll never be able to take on purebloods.
"Kiryuu-san, please stop tensing up, you're going to open up your wound again." Reminded the Hunters Association's paramedic who came after his call to clean up the scene and attend to the survivors and casualties.
Behind them is a group of professionals trying to fake a crime in the scene to remove any and all possible links to a vampire attack. They were cleaning and planting evidence and Zero couldn't wait to get out of here. He wants to know why Kuran Kaname was here and how the Level E's seemed to have mutated to something with increased abilities.
"Zero!" called a familiar voice.
He stood up to bow to the man. "Sensei." He uttered.
Ryuzaki Eiichi is one of Toga Yagari's trusted friends. Though he wasn't as close to the Kiryuu couple just like Toga, he said he's heard so much about them and their contribution to the association. He is also his mentor, while his godfather is far away on a complicated mission.
The paramedic left to give them some privacy. "Great job, what you did here." The man reached to pat his shoulder, but he doesn't deserve the congratulations.
"No, I could have done better." He shook his head, looking down because he felt so ashamed.
"Ahh.. of course you could have done better, child." He agreed, his tone humoring him. "Thinking we could always do better is a good thing. It means we want to improve, and that isn't a bad thing, is it?"
This time, he met his deep set of gray orbs that focused on him with his face expressing encouragement. Zero nodded, but then immediately the man's face turned sour.
"The team found traces of pure blood in the couple's bedroom." Ryuzaki's eyes became serious as he spoke in a low voice.
That isn't news. It's expected, actually. It is a fact that purebloods are the only ones who can turn humans, but normally, they don't leave traces. They never do. Always so careful. Unless…
It's a renegade. They wanna be found. They wanna play a game. They are bored. Just like her.
"Will you let me know, when you find out?" Zero needed to ask, just in case.
"I will." The experienced hunter nodded then shook his head, an indication that he wanted to move on to another topic. "So, what were your difficulties today?"
The way Zero clenched his fist did not escape the eyes of his sensei.
"I- uh…" Zero sighed, "I never quite got past it."
It was easy to get what it means since that was one of the issues he's had even before he started training. His affinity to the Level E's, because of his condition. "Consider it a work in progress, Zero-kun. You did well despite that." Ryuzaki gestured to the people busy cleaning the crime scene, or rather, rearranging it. "Don't be too hard on yourself."
He shook his head. "No." He then told him about how the mother came out of nowhere and Kuran Kaname appeared out of the blue to finish her off before he did and saved him in the process.
With his thumb under his chin, silence was all there was for a long moment before he said, "You have to find out why that pureblood was here. He must know something we don't and we need more information about the E's new abilities. They might be tracking the pureblood who did this to the family as well…" It was like an idea sparked even brighter than the previous ones, that Ryuzaki had to meet and make sure they were eye to eye. "Why would he personally come here when he has his loyal subjects and the whole Vampire Council at his disposal?"
"Ah.."
Takuma maneuvered himself in the perfect position as he thrusted deeper inside of Senri. Every part of their soft heated skin that is in contact felt like molten metal rubbing against each other, molding to each other's shape and igniting fire in an out of their bodies as they both, with hurried breaths and minds blinded to anything else by pleasure so intense they both feel at any moment they were going to explode.
Fevered sweat-slicked hands traveled from Takuma's spine up the back of his head, a grunt disappeared in each other's mouths as the younger boy pulled him down and crushed him in a brutal kiss that still managed to be so passionate and tender.
Their movements gradually quicken in pace as the delicious pool of pleasure builds up, filling them in, shaking them like a volcanic earthquake signalling an impending eruption.
"Takuma… ahhh, please…" Senri's exaggerated roll of his hips, legs wrapping tighter by the second around the older noble, pulling him back harder in every thrust that forces gasps out of his mouth. "So good,"
Senri's walls started to squeeze and pulse around him as he pounds into him, he made sure to bury himself deep into him and that with each thrust he rubs his prostate, making sure he goes deeper and deeper until he knew it was too much for his little Senri. The younger one tensed up first before his body started to tremble and then Takuma felt warm stripes of delicious cum paint his and Senri's stomach.
The delightful way Senri's insides squeezed the whole length of his cock, his warm and soft walls clamp around him, Takuma felt his member swell for the last time before he threw his head back and erupted, as he came for what seemed like forever, he rode the waves of pleasure until he felt his semen fill him up and some more.
"So good…" Takuma forced himself to come out of the fog of bliss first to tend to the younger noble under him who was still lazily rolling his hips as he milked him, eyes shut tight and still in his orgasmic haze. "Good boy.." He couldn't help having a taste of those little plump lips again, sucking on his lower lip and tongue invading the sweet cavern once more.
When he moved to pull out, the younger groaned, arching his hips to catch up to him, still unwilling to let his cock go "I want more…" Senri purred, responding to the kiss lazily and unconsciously.
Laughing, Takuma moved his head away a little to look at his baby boy's face. "Let's rest a little, we have all evening." He rained kisses on his face, "Let me clean you up-"
"Noo!" Senri tightened his hold on him even more, clinging to him like a vine, keeping him in place despite not having much energy anymore.
Takuma felt his heart swell in adoration. The thought that his touchy little baby boy is only like this in front of him makes him so overjoyed and pleased. He'll make sure he'll stay like this with him forever. No one is going to take Senri away from him and no one is going to see this side of him ever, he will make sure of that.
He felt his cock starting to harden again but his instincts heightened at the sudden aura that enveloped the room and Takuma is sure that it is also felt in the entire Moon Dorm. It was so heavy and suffocating and Takuma is afraid that it has started again.
When Senri felt him stiffen, it was as if he immediately recovered his strength, his arms and legs around him tightened for real this time. "Don't go…" He murmured, moving to capture Takuma's lips for a kiss but the older noble had already pulled away to his dismay. Gone is the cloud of desire in Takuma's eyes, replaced by that familiar look of determination and sense of responsibility.
"I'll be quick."
One last peck on the lips and Senri was left feeling cold and frustrated on their bed. "I'll be quick- my ass." He uttered.
His hands were shaking, he was trembling so hard and his chest tightened with each passing second. Tears were streaming down his eyes.
What the fuck is happening?
This was worse. This was the worst episode since he started craving Kiryuu's blood.
He's gasping for air as if he was being choked. Some sort of fiery hot and heavy hand was squeezing his heart nonstop and he was sure it wouldn't stop until the beating organ exploded into tiny little pieces of nothing.
The dull burning feeling in his chest is getting more and more intense, his vision starts to blur with so much pain. The burning sensation started to envelop his entire body and he started sweating buckets, his skin felt like wax that was melting from the licking flames in and out.
This isn't happening.
Kaname used up all his remaining strength to rummage through his medicine cabinet. He needs a shot. Overdosing in those shots seemed like the only way.
He knows pain, all kinds of it. He knew what it felt like. He has lived many lifetimes, from one generation to another. He has gone through all sorts of brutal fights to remain on the top of the caste. There had been many wars, and he was present in most of them. Most of the war had been because of him or for him. He's no stranger to pain.
Even now Kaname believes that once in a while, experiencing pain isn't all that bad. It is a sign of life- of living- of being alive. And because he has lived for so long, he needed some confirmation that he truly is still alive. That's why once in a while, when he reaches that point of numbness, he starts a fire.
But this pain, this burning sensation is unlike anything he's ever felt before. It's the kind that forces him down on his knees, makes him want to rip his body open and tear his flesh apart for it to maybe go away.
Takuma has seen many people; vampires and humans, suffer before, but never Kuran Kaname. He had always been untouchable- made possible by his amazing powers and his loyal subjects.
These past few months however showed him so much and more.
He ran quickly towards his childhood friend and flinched at how hot his skin is, he was as red as a ripe tomato all over and his eyes were at their brightest red. Veins were visible and looking like they were about to pop any moment.
Kaname has his hands around his own neck as if he's trying to stop the invisible hands that were choking him to death. Except, it wasn't tangible. His lips were starting to discolor, slowly turning to a light aubergine, fangs elongated to its maximum length and a mixture of spit and blood were flowing out of his mouth. His breaths were getting deeper, heavier and quicker as with the trembling of his body.
Takuma turned and hurried to where the liquid suppressants were, and just as he got his hands on the case, a heavy painful blow coming from his right threw him a couple of feet away from where he was standing towards the window where he felt his whole body collide against the wall. He didn't have time to make sure whether the crack he heard came from the wall or his body because a dark shadow with glowing red eyes loomed over him quickly.
He knows he is no match against Kaname with or without the use of their abilities, and he wouldn't harm Kaname especially in this state, but that's not to say that he isn't going to attempt to protect himself. Pureblood healing abilities are extremely fast, so with that thought in mind, he looked around to see anything he could use to his advantage, but before he completed his scan, something sharp dug into his arm and then it ran through his skin all the way to his chest, his flesh were torn apart.
"Ahh!" The word painful is an understatement. Tears collected in his eyes, falling fast as the sting turned into a burning ache. Takuma's eyes widened as multiple drops of blood caught his attention in front of him, they were falling from the pureblood's fingers. 'What are those?!' Takuma thought, fear crept through him. This person in front of him… those eyes... those hands… they weren't Kaname's. At least not the Kaname he knows. Right now, in front of him is Kaname with half his human features gone and the other half has turned into something like a beast.
'You should see what the pureblood's true forms are...it's hideous.' said his grandfather, though he didn't ask. Kaname just left after their study session and also to avoid his grandfather because who wouldn't? He would've loved to leave with him but unfortunately, they were in his own room and that's where his grandfather is now.
'How about us, grandfather?' Takuma's curiosity was aroused nevertheless.
'No...I've never heard of it.' The old man shook his head, 'Only the true children of the moon have it. Their undiluted blood allows them to keep their other form and it is what makes them much much stronger and powerful.' His grandfather never looked and sounded so bitter as he did now. As ambitious as Asato Ichijo is, Takuma wouldn't be surprised if he revealed how jealous he is of the purebloods, in fact he is convinced already, just by looking at him now and the way he speaks of them. 'It's the other half- that makes them look human and suppresses their other form. Without their humanity, they're nothing but beasts.' Asato spitted, tone full of contempt.
'Does that make us - the aristocrats - much more human? Is that a good thing?' Takuma continued, trying to sound nonchalant so he would just leave him alone.
A small mysterious smile stretched out on his mouth. 'It makes us weaker…'
Takuma's reaction was late, Kaname was too fast for his eyes. All he caught visually were strands of dark brown hair and the feel of it on his face before fangs pierced through his pulsing jugular and long, sharp nails dug into his shoulders once more. Kaname has fed on him many times. He never asked, it was always him offering it to him and he was always gentle.
While Takuma was confident that Kaname would never ever intentionally hurt him or much worse; kill him, this person isn't Kaname anymore. It's his alter-ego. The one taking control of Kaname's body now. The stronger one. The one who has no humanity, no memory of their brotherhood and only relies on instinct.
Never once in Takuma's life; not even during some of the fights he'd been involved in before, had he thought about his death. But tonight.. He might die. He can feel it now, his body starting to get numbed by the immense pain and his mind starting to cloud.
All too sudden, the pureblood stopped sucking, and his body stiffened. The beast's claws digging on his shoulder had loosened until Takuma felt him letting go. His eyes followed the beast's hand on his stomach, pressing it as if experiencing pain. A few seconds later, the beast was vomiting blood, loads of it on the floor that Takuma could hear the splashing sound of his own blood being forced out of the beast's body like it was poison to him. His groan didn't sound like Kaname's voice at all, it was too deep and laced with excruciating pain that despite his current situation, Takuma felt sorry for him. He was throwing up non stop as if leaving a single drop of his blood in his system is unacceptable.
Then it occured to Takuma that this is his time. With the liquid suppressant case just inches away from his fingers, he quickly opened it and pulled out three syringes, then he lunged forward and stabbed the beast on his back as he was crouching on the floor, too busy squeezing his stomach of his blood.
The beast turned to him, growling and gearing up for a lethal blow towards him but suddenly stopped, distracted by most probably another wave of pain from his stomach, heaving though nothing is coming out anymore, one hand around his own neck looking like he's being choked again.
Takuma pulled out three more syringes and injected him again, trying to be as fast as he can. Seconds later, the long nails have started to retreat, the large veins have calmed down. Takuma pulled out another three and another. He knows he is overdosing Kaname right now, but he can't stop when it's finally starting to take effect. The retching has slowed down and all that's left is him catching his breath.
Fifteen shots of the very potent suppressant was what it took for the beast to calm down and for Kaname to resurface.
"Kaname…" Takuma called out, eyes still trained on the crouching pureblood. He waited for him to look up and meet his eyes, it took a while but when it happened, it was only for a second. Dark wine eyes met his, confirming Kaname's back but it closed again when he passed out and his body fell, hitting the floor with a thud.
"What?!"
"Not again!"
"Why?"
Disappointed Day Class students complained after hearing the announcement Yuuki made.
"It's been a whole week now! Tell us what's going on!" asked one of the group's leaders. Behind her were other girls nodding and waiting for the answer.
Yuuki's voice was laced with worry when she answered, despite trying to look nonchalant. "The Night Class is taking a break indefinitely. That's all we know." She looked at the direction of the Moon Dorm and sighed.
"They're still there right? In their dorm?" Another student asked.
"Did something bad happen? Was Idol-sempai hurt?"
"How about Ruka-chii? Is she okay?"
Then everyone started mentioning other names.
Annoyed at the piercing voices and their inability to comprehend Yuuki's announcement, Zero stepped forward, pulling Yuuki behind him.
"Stop harassing her and start walking back to your dorm and homes." He stared at their direction to intimidate them. It always worked and he was satisfied the moment they started cowering. "I don't want to hear any questions about the Night Class anymore. Yuuki said what she said. That's it. Leave! Now!" When he took a single step forward, the girls scampered away.
After the girls have gone, Yuuki's voice broke the silence that left. "The headmaster won't tell me anything." Yuuki's form appeared in front of him when he wouldn't turn to look at her. "Do you think they've decided to discontinue the Night Class?"
Zero got trapped in Yuuki's eyes. Her reddish-brown orbs reminded him of the pureblood's. Of the encounters he could remember and the way they stared at him like a hungry lion to his prey that was quickly followed by disgust and confusion.
'I do not know why your scent is appealing to me...but a pureblood cannot be denied his bloodlust.'
'You are so sweet.'
Image of the pureblood's face lowering and closing the distance between them and the feel of his hot lips made his body start to burn up. His mouth went dry. He remembered his taste on his tongue in the hazy memory of one of those the pureblood attempted to erase. How good and dizzying it made him feel. It was only recently that he realized that those images and feelings weren't just an intricate part of his vivid dreams, they were memories.
"Zero-kun?" Yuuki's voice brought him back.
He shook his head really hard. These disturbing thoughts are probably just part of the hypnosis the pureblood put on him just to steal his blood.
He needs to focus and get back to work. He still needs to find out about why Kaname was there that night and what the heck is going on with the Night Class. He needs to know so he can prepare for it.
"Is there anything I can do?" Ruka asked, wringing her hands.
Takuma reached for her shoulder. "Seiren and I are doing our best for him. I will let you know when we need your help." He said, noticing the way she nibbles her lip in worry.
"So why can't I-" As if she caught herself, she rephrased it "-why can't we see him?"
Takuma knew he needed to be firm. "Like I said, Seiren and I are taking care of things. What you need to do right now is to convince the rest of the Night Class to carry on with the classes so we can avoid suspicions." He gritted his teeth. They cannot let this news get out. It will cause massive problems not only with the Vampire Council but also with the Hunter's Association. There are so many vampires and hunters that are after Kaname, who cannot do anything because of his position, power and the laws created by the Human-Vampire Relations Organization treaty. Some vampires might use this as an excuse for an uprising in the council and some hunters couldn't wait to put his name on their lists.
Not that Takuma isn't confident Kaname cannot take on everyone, but he's not his usual self anymore. Not now. So until then… Takuma will do his best before all hell breaks loose.
'why can't we see him?'
'What you need to do right now is to convince the rest of the Night Class to carry on with the classes so we can avoid suspicions.'
Zero walked away as fast as he could before the two Night Class students' conversation ended and noticed him.
He accidentally found the Night Class Vice-President and the blonde noble vampire; who always glares at him at every opportunity, talking in one of the clearings behind the school main building. He was on his last round of patrol before going back to the Sun Dorm.
He normally would just shrug and leave them alone but when he heard Kaname's name on the girl's lips, he was frozen on his spot and his senses heightened. Next thing he knew, he was hiding behind a big tree and listening in.
"Why was she so worried?" Zero uttered, still out of breath from adrenaline. "What does he mean by avoiding suspicions?"
Something is definitely up and the Vice-President is trying to hide it not only from others but even the other Night Class students.
"Does Cross know something?" He thought.
"I doubt it…" said an unfamiliar voice.
Zero turned so fast only to find a young Night Class student standing behind him. "What are you doing here, vampire?" It's the young blue-eyed noble whose name he doesn't remember. He positioned his hand close to his gun holster and tried not to make it obvious.
"To answer your questions." He said so casually.
"What are you talking about? Are you stalking me?" Zero confronted him.
The boy chuckled, titling his head before responding, "You're the one who wanted to know where Kaname-sama is and is listening to other people's conversation just to know, and you have the guts to tell me I'm the stalker?"
"Stop talking and tell me what you want from me or I will make you!" Zero threatened, the fucking vampire is spouting nonsense.
The boy raised his two hands as if surrendering, "Fine." He stepped closer to him, blue eyes shining brightly under the moonlight but darker with every step forward. "Aren't you wondering where Kaname-sama is? What's happening to him right now? Why is he keeping tabs on you? Why is he so obsessed with your blood? What is he doing in one of your missions?..." It wasn't the vampire's presence that made Zero take a step back at the vampire's every step forward, it was the words coming out of his mouth as if they were pulled out of his own mind.
"Stop it…"
But the vampire wasn't deterred. "Why are you so affected by him? Why do you care so much?"
"Shut up! I don't! It's my job!" Zero yelled, too embarrassed of the questions thrown at him, he felt like he was stripped open and exposed.
"Okay, sure.. You said so." He gave up and smiled too brightly for the situation.
Zero pulled his gun out and pointed it at the vampire's forehead.
"Hah, now that's unnecessary." The boy pulled something out of his jacket and Zero immediately reacted. He pulled the hammer and the sound of it alerted the noble vampire. "Hey! Relax, it's just Pocky!"
True enough, it was a box of unopened one and he shamelessly busied himself opening the box and started eating in front of him.
Zero felt like he was being played. "Enough with your games. Get your ass out of here and go back to your dorm."
"Oh no, not tonight. " He answered. "You see, I am going to visit our poor dorm President. He's very very sick right now." The noble turned his back on him but waited for his reaction.
"What do you mean? Where is he?" Zero asked, curiosity evident in his words and tone.
Senri smiled.
Takuma will surely hate him for this but it's the only way. The silver-haired hunter is the only one who can satiate Kaname.
They have tried giving him different kinds of blood. He would just feel really bad and then throw it all up. They'd have to inject a large dose of the suppressant to calm him down which as a side effect makes him sleep for almost 24-hours straight. When Kaname wakes up, it's the same cycle again, he'd grow his nails out and transform into a hideous version of himself then attacks anyone in the room. Seiren had been attacked once and almost got killed.
Senri believes that there is a possibility that it's Zero's blood that woke the beast in Kaname and now it wouldn't go back to sleep.
"Why don't you follow me then?"
A/N: Thank you again for reading guys. Actually I had to cut a quarter of this chapter because I realized it has gotten too long. The next chapter should be up in a few days. For those curious why I had to rewrite this fanfic from where I left off which was like two chapters ago? That's because I realized I hurried the plot and just to give you a bit of information, in the 'other' version, they were already fvcking like bunnies in this chapter hahahaha and for me it's just too soon! I love and respect Zero too much for Kaname to get his way with our baby Zero too soon. But don't worry, I didn't delete most of the scenes I've already written, I just delayed some of it and added some for the plot.
See you!
