House of Kitties:
The club looked into Eddie's locker with wide eyes and couldn't believe what they saw in it.
"The mini house? How did the mini house get there?" Asked Nina.
"No idea, but one thing I know for sure is the cottage and the map will stay here with me," said Eddie.
"Let's find an empty classroom," said Nina.
The club went to find an empty classroom to discuss the finding of the mini house.
In the meantime Jerome and Mara were sorting through all the stuff, but it wasn't easy because there were still many students handing in their stuff.
"If this continues, the auction will last 3 weeks," said Jerome.
"We won't have the money yet," said Mara.
"Can't we just throw some things away, there's no one who wants to buy this junk," said Jerome.
"We can't do that," said Mara.
"We might as well just throw it all in the trash, said Otis, as he entered the room.
"What do you mean?" Asked Mara.
"Bad news," said Otis.
"Let me guess, they need £200,000?" Guessed Mara.
"A million," said Otis.
"What?" Asked Jerome.
"You heard me, a million. I've just been told by my newspaper contact that the news channels and newspapers won't get out of bed for less, said Otis.
"So £150,000 isn't enough? Asked Mara.
"Not if you want to make in the national papers, said Otis.
"But if the press don't show up, said Mara.
"Then Shepard has his way, said Otis.
"And then Sweetie still will get fired, said Jerome.
Mara, Jerome and Otis were not happy with the news that they had to raise £1.000.000
In the meantime, KT was in the computer lab looking for information on Ankhesenamun. She had looked at many sites but they all told the same thing. Then KT came across a site, with more information.
"The Curse of Ankhesenamun," said KT.
KT took a notebook out of her bag and wrote down everything that was on the site.
A few moments later, in the house. Trudy was busy in the kitchen and Mason walked into the kitchen.
"Hi, sweetie," said Trudy.
"Hello, ma'am," said Mason.
"Just call me Trudy," said Trudy.
"Okay, I will, Trudy," said Mason.
"How was your first day at school?" Asked Trudy.
"Very well, actually," said Mason.
"That's good to hear," said Trudy.
"I'm gonna go do my homework now, but as soon as I'm done, I'll help you," said Mason.
"That's sweet, Why don't you take out the trash later, I want to get some fish food for Solomon," said Trudy.
"He really listens to you, doesn't he?" Asked Mason.
"Yes, he does," said Trudy.
"A very special fish," said Mason.
"Isaac, the man who gave me Solomon, told me it's a magic fish," said Trudy.
"Wow," said Mason.
"He understands me and he will always listen to me," said Trudy.
"A special fish from a special man," said Mason.
"Yes," said Trudy.
"For a very special woman," said Mason.
"That's very sweet of you to say that," said Trudy.
Trudy got a smile on her face and looked at Solomon.
Back at school, the club had gathered in the chemistry room. Eddie took the house out of the chest and put it down on the table.
"It's the real mini house," said Nina.
"Yeah, but how does it get in Eddie's locker?" Asked Patricia.
"Maybe it's the house with a thousand legs," said Alfie.
"Shut up," said Eddie, slapping Alfie on the back of his head.
"Ouch," said Alfie, rubbing the back of his head.
"Somebody is helping us, it has to be," said Nina.
"Fabian," said Amber.
"Hey blondie, can't you think before you open that hole under your nose," said Eddie.
"I just thought..," said Amber, but Eddie interrupted her.
"Yeah, leave the thinking to the big people," said Eddie.
"You're unbelievable, you've just joined the club and you're already acting like the boss," said Amber.
"Shall we spare the arguing for another time? We've bigger things to worry about," said Aaron.
"Exactly, we still don't know what the clue means," said Nina.
"How many more tasks do we have to do?" Asked Aaron.
"I think two more, but then we won't know for sure if we can get the Mask of Anubis," said Nina.
"All right, so this is the tasks we saw and it looks like some kind of giant spider web," said Eddie.
"I'm gonna try to figure out what the riddle means," said Nina.
"Once we know what it means, we'll divide up the tasks and get to work," said Eddie.
Eddie put the mini house back in the chest and took it back in the bag and left the room and the rest of club followed him.
At that same moment. Mara, Jerome and Otis were in the storage room.
"Okay, how do we get the press here?" Asked Mara.
"If we raise the £1,000,000," said Otis.
"But we'll never raise that much, I can tell you that," said Jerome.
"There must be some other way of getting the press here," said Mara.
"Maybe if we say a celebrity will be at the auction and also be an auctioneer," suggested Jerome.
"And how would you manage that? What celebrity did you have in mind?" Asked Mara.
"I don't know, we just say a name and the press will come for sure," said Jerome.
"Jerome, they're not gonna believe that," said Mara.
"Yes, and it will also be not good, because we maybe end up in the newspapers as liars," said Otis.
"We still get publicity," said Jerome.
"We need good publicity," said Otis.
"Then you guys think of something," said Jerome.
"I really don't know what to do," said Mara.
"Neither do I," said Otis.
"Otis, can't you call your contact at the paper and ask him if he can persuade the press to come?" Asked Mara.
"Yeah, tell him how important this is," said Jerome.
"I did, but he said they're not interested in our story so it's not worthy of national cover," said Otis.
"Hello, children," said Mr. Sweet, as he and Ms. Delaney entered the room.
"Hi Mr. Sweet," said Mara.
"Where are the frowny faces?" Asked Mr. Sweet.
"We're still a little upset that Joy is gone," lied Mara.
"I understand, after everything that happened with Fabian and now this," said Mr. Sweet.
"Yeah," said Mara.
"Eric, I think they have a lot of work to do, so let's leave them be," said Ms. Delaney.
"Yeah, good luck," said Mr. Sweet.
"Thank you, Mr. Sweet," said Mara.
Mr. Sweet and Mrs. Delaney walked out of the room.
"Why did you say that?" Asked Otis.
"I can't say now that this is all for nothing," said Mara.
"So you want to keep giving him false hope?" Asked Otis.
"No, because we're gonna figure out a way to get our auction into the national news," said Jerome.
A few moments later and the club and KT had left school and were in the garden.
"Okay, you guys know what the plan is now?" Asked Eddie.
"Aaron, Patricia and I are the ears and eyes and we warn of the Victor danger," said Alfie.
"And I keep the mini house and the map with me," said Eddie.
"For real this time?" Asked Patricia.
"For real this time," said Eddie.
"Did you copied the clue?" Asked Eddie.
"Yes, and now I can try to solve it," said Nina.
"That's very good," said Eddie.
"And what do I do?" Asked Amber.
"If you just sit here," said Eddie.
"Okay, and then?" Asked Amber.
"Then nothing. Just sit tight," said Eddie.
The club and KT walked into the house and Amber stayed in the yard and sat on the bench.
"And then just nothing, just sit there," said Amber, trying to imitate Eddie.
Suddenly Amber heard meowing, she got up and walked towards it. Amber looked into the bushes and saw that a small white kitten was stuck.
At the same time, the club walked through the corridor and were on their way upstairs, but at that moment Victor sr. walked out of the cellar and ran towards the club.
"Where is it?" Asked Victor sr.
"Where is what?" Asked Alfie.
"Give me that mini house," said Victor sr.
Eddie held the bag tightly and Victor sr. grabbed it and tried to pull it out of Eddie's hands, Nina and Patricia also held the bag tightly.
"No," said Patricia.
"Victor let go," said Nina.
"Let go, now!" Shouted Victor sr.
"This is my bag you have no business to get your hands on it," said Eddie.
"Victor!" Yelled Trudy.
Victor Sr. let go of the bag and turned to Trudy. Eddie quickly gave the bag and Alfie and he fled upstairs with the bag.
"Victor just leave those kids alone," said Trudy.
"Mind your own business woman," said Victor sr.
Victor Sr. turned back to the club and saw that Eddie no longer had the bag.
"I'll find it, even if that means that I've to demolish the whole house," said Victor sr.
Victor Sr. walked back into the cellar and at the same moment walked towards the club, holding her bag close to her.
"Hi," said Amber.
Suddenly, Trudy started sneezing really hard.
"My allergy, how can that be?" asked Trudy.
Trudy started sneezing again and Amber walked up with a guilty look on her face, Nina and the others found this strange, even for Amber. Amber walked up to her room and put her bag on her bed.
"Yes, yes, you are a very sweet kitty, but you can't stay here. I'll just check on your collar where you belong," said Amber.
Amber opened her bag and wanted to take the kitty out, to look on the collar, only the kitty scratched her.
"Ouch, stupid kitty, I just want to help you," said Amber.
At that same moment, Alfie entered the room and the kitty ran out.
"No, the door," said Amber.
"Sorry," said Alfie.
"The kitty, said Amber, as she ran out the room.
"What kitty?" Asked Nina, entering the room with Eddie and Patricia.
"Thanks, dude," said Eddie.
"The kitty!" Yelled Amber.
At the same time, Aaron walked into KT's room, to check up on her.
"Did everything go well?" Asked KT.
"Yes, thanks to Alfie", said Aaron.
"That was close," said KT.
"Sorry, I completely forgot to ask how it went with your research," said Aaron.
"I haven't been able to find much about Ankhesenamun and her curse," said KT.
"I'm sorry, KT," said Aaron.
"The only ones who know more about her are the Denby family and they're the ones who are after me," said KT.
"It's going to be okay. We're going to find out what the Curse of Ankhesenamun means," said Aaron.
In the meantime, Eddie had taken the back with the mini house to Patricia's room.
"We've to make sure that Victor will never get his hands on this chest," said Patricia.
"Yeah, that's pretty obvious," said Eddie.
"Eddie can I discuss something with you?" Asked Patricia.
"What?" Asked Eddie.
"I want to talk to you about your behavior," said Patricia.
"What's wrong with my behavior?" Asked Eddie.
"You're not yourself," said Patricia.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Asked Eddie.
"You hit Alfie in the head when he says something you don't like and you being mean to Amber," said Patricia.
"But you've got to admit, with what those two are saying, it's not helping us now," said Eddie.
"And KT," said Patricia.
"What about KT?" Asked Eddie.
"When Nina had found out that the Denby family might be after her and then react about it so insensitively," said Patricia.
"Of course it's awful for KT to find out about her family history like that," said Eddie.
"You didn't really show that," said Patricia.
"I'm sorry, okay, I just want to find that mask and get rid of Senkhara," said Eddie.
"I'm just saying I don't like this side of you," said Patricia.
But before Eddie could say anything, there was screaming. Eddie grabbed the bag and ran out of the room and the rest of the club also ran out into the hallway.
"Here, hide this," said Eddie, handing Alfie the bag.
Alfie ran to Nina and Amber's room and the rest of the club and KT ran downstairs from where the screaming was coming from. The club entered the kitchen and saw Trudy on the floor and Victor sr. next to her.
"Get away from her!" Shouted Eddie, pushing Victor sr. away from Trudy.
"What did you do to her?" Asked Nina.
"Victor didn't do anything," said Trudy, as Aaron and Eddie helped get her up.
"Then what happened?" Asked KT.
"My Solomon," said Trudy.
Trudy walked over to the fishbowl, which only had a cat collar floating in it.
"Oh no," said Amber
Amber got a big guilty feeling. Would it now be because of her that Solomon was no longer there. Did the cat that Amber brought in do something to Solomon?
