All was quiet in All Might's chamber. His skeletal form sat up in his throne, his uniform pooling over him. He didn't even notice when the doors opened.
'So much has happened in the past two weeks', he'd think to himself. 'The smallest of my groups were attacked, captured, then released in the city closest to them with no note, no villains to wait for one of us to show. Then, days later, my strongest prison was broken into, and several prisoners were freed.' He sighed deeply. 'I don't even know where they went. Mirio was captured as well, truly upsetting.'
His sunken eyes narrowed. 'What's odd is the prison breaker's quirk. Super Speed and strength, not a common quirk to have… if it were two separate quirks. But together? Along with the lightning bolts surrounding him? It should be impossible here. Even all of the databases we have don't have anyone with that kind of quirk? Maybe a mutation, maybe they've gotten stronger?'
He shook his head. 'I guess it doesn't matter. Not now, anyways. What needs to happen now is our preparation for when the villains retaliate. Especially…'
He shook, his fists trembled just slightly.
Kaminari.
"All Might, sir?"
He shook from his stupor. "Oh yes, Todoroki, what can I do for you?" He smiled at the boy, who's eyes were cast in shadow. His smile dropped at the tension coming from the dual quirk user. "Son? Are you okay?"
Todoroki looked at his mentor, his mouth in a straight line, but his eyes clouded with uncertainty. "I… I have information regarding the Tartarus break."
"Go on."
"The final key is with the Front."
All Might tightened his fists. "We need him back. He's what's needed to keep going with the plan." He looked back to Todoroki. "Anything else?"
"My brother and father are with them as well, as well as Shigaraki, Ashido, and Nezu. All have joined the front."
"And you know this how?"
Todoroki looked at his boss. "I was there. I also know their leader isn't from this world."
"How-?"
"He told me."
All Might stilled. "He… told… you?" This wasn't good for him, not at all. If they had escaped quietly, maybe they'd have a shot of predicting just who the front was, but for their leader to openly say something, was it possible?
"Did he say anything to you?"
"He invited me to join them."
"And did you accept?"
"No."
The leader sighed in relief. "That's good."
Shouto looked away. "I… know who he is."
All Might coughed in surprise, his eyes shooting to the dual haired boy. "You do? Who is it?"
"Are you certain you want to know?"
All Might hesitated. "… yes."
The dual quirk user sighed. "His name is Izuku Midoriya."
The blond froze. Every part of him stopped. His eyes were shaking, his breath hitched. His skin paled, and he was sweating badly.
Todoroki looked carefully at his mentor. "Sir?"
"Can I be a hero, without a quirk?"
"Young Midoriya, you can be a hero!"
"Keep it up! UA exams aren't going to pass themselves!"
"This is your hero academia."
"How, how could you do this? They were struggling!"
"I had to!"
"All might, sir?"
"I've had enough."
"All Might!"
Toshinori didn't hear him, how could he hear him?
His worst fear was just birthed.
'There's no way, it's impossible! Midoriya just couldn't come back! No, he must have been attacked by Toga or something. He couldn't have-'
"Todoroki."
"Ah, yes?"
"Please leave. I have an errand to run."
The younger one nodded. Walking out of the room, he paused to take a moment to assess All Might. Obviously the titan trusted Todoroki enough to see him in his true form, as the more rogue of the massive group wouldn't listen to a weakened All Might, as well as they would kill All Might with no hesitation to get a spot at the top. Todoroki thought about what Midoriya told him.
He shook his head. 'I'm sorry, Izuku. I can't leave, yet. One day I'll join your cause, but now I can't.'
He walked deep into the halls. He waved to some soldiers that marched past him, wishing them luck.
Honestly, even if most of the heroes didn't see it, the elites of All Might's regime continued to rise to power, albeit slowly. They ruthlessly killed off groups of people that didn't interest them, or wronged them in any way possible. It didn't matter whether they were children, men, or women. If they crossed them, they more than likely died.
The smaller groups' job was simple: recruitment. That was it. The officers didn't care how they recruited members. They could have joined out of fear, or completely voluntarily, it didn't matter in the long run.
If Shouto was being honest, he didn't agree with how his rather large group executed missions. They had formed monopolies on firearms and banks, the only stores being free were grocery and convenience stores.
Although, eventually those would be taken as well.
Shouto sat on a bench as he walked to the park nearby. He watched as heroes patrolled the area, and waved at Earphone Jack, who smiled as she continued down her path.
He frowned when his eyes reached to her waist. She carried a pistol on her at all times, as well as several knives. It saddened him to watch her transform from a gentle, introverted musician to a raging murderer, although she calls it "failed recruitment".
While he accepted the changes of his classmates, deep down he knew what they were all doing was wrong.
He noticed how civilians around him cowered away, running in fear instead of asking for pictures, autographs and the like. It was almost like they brought fear, anger, anxiety, and sadness into society.
Yet, there were rarely crimes that escalated. The worst he dealt with were fights or speeding cars. He thought at first it was because the criminals were too scared to act, but now…
People were scared to ask for help, too scared to act. It was almost like they were too fearful of being sent to jail for something as minor as failure to communicate.
He placed a palm on his chin. He thought deeply about the ethics of the heroes today. Even former villains like Shigaraki and Dabi joined the Front, rather than join them for a chance for societal redemption.
His eyes widened slightly.
'Are..'
'Are we villains?'
"Good afternoon Mr. Yagi!" Called out the receptionist. The blond smiled at the young girl, waving as he walked out of the door. "I'll let you in when you come back."
Toshinori shot a thumbs up behind him as the door closed. He didn't need any distractions today. It was just a simple walk.
With the thoughts of his predecessors ringing back and forth.
He grunted as conflicting ideologies bashed through his brain. One thought had lingering feelings of hope that he could build a better society while another cackled with glee that he could have the populace under her entire control.
He gritted his teeth. As a result of the multiple personalities he shaped society a blend of all the thoughts. Society was at peace, yes, but at the cost of their livelihoods. They lived in fear of the heroes, as a simple misstep like jaywalking could send them in prison for twenty to life.
Was it a life he'd want for future generations? No.
Was it safe? Absolutely.
His eyes darkened at the memory of all for one as the maniac laughed at the destruction of what was Kamino ward during their last fight.
He looked around at giggling children as they played cops and robbers, flinching when the "cop" body slammed into the robber, yelling out how the criminal was going to rot in his cell.
He shivered. That was not something he expected to hear from today's children. Sighing, he resigned to enter a convenience store.
'Maybe a drink is what I need.'
He selected a juice -was it strawberry or melon?- and quickly paid for it. He nodded at the cashier in thanks before popping the top off. He walked outside and placed himself on a bench, and squinted at a couple walking past him.
Something to him rang familiar. They looked to be on their first or second date, and as he narrowed his vision on them. He glanced at their postures, their build, their face shape.
He blinked. 'He looks familiar. Where have I seen him before?'
He closed his eyes.
"All might! I cleaned it! I finished it!"
"Yagi-San? Why is there so much blood on you?"
"What's with the people in your hands?"
"No!"
"All Might! Please!"
"You have to stop this!"
"Stop-"
Then, silence.
His eyes shot open, his eyes meeting wide green ones. Eyes that looked absolutely stunned. His eyes scanned the owner of said eyes, taking in the diamond framed freckles that speckled underneath the eyes. Said eyes that widened under unruly green hair.
"Midoriya?"
"Tsuyu, get out of here."
The greenette stared at Midoriya as his eyes locked onto a stranger. She rose her eyebrow. "Midoriya, what's wrong?"
He refused to look at her. "Get the front ready. We have an incoming threat. Go."
She glanced at the stranger that also locked eyes with him. She then looked Midoriya up and down. He was tense. He was ready for something she never knew about. What made this so different?
"Izuku-"
He was walking to the stranger, quickly masking his alertness with a smile. She quickly pressed a button on the side of her purse. It was an alarm that connected with Inko's computer, signaling that something was wrong. Hopefully reinforcements would arrive soon.
She walked towards the now talking duo, taking notice on how he glanced to her. 'What are they talking about?'
-With Midoriya and All Might, a moment ago-
Midoriya walked up to the stranger, wearing his best smile. "Enjoying the park, sir?"
All Might nodded. "Yes, it's very lovely. I don't get out much, so this is a nice change of pace for me."
The greenette hummed in agreement. "I don't either. You mind if I sit?"
A hand tapped the seat next to the blond. "Go right ahead."
"Thanks." With that, the greenette sat next to him.
"So what brings you into the city? Not much to do around here."
All Might side eyed the teen, his brain calculating. "I'm merely shopping for my wife. It's our anniversary this weekend and I'm unsure of what to buy for her."
The teen grinned. "What a coincidence! My girlfriend and I are shopping for my mom's birthday. We're still unsure of what she'll like though." He gave a shy smile. "Between you and me, I'm planning on buying her something special."
The blond nodded. "How long have you two been together?"
Izuku paused to think. 'How long have I been here? Eight months, maybe?'
The older man laughed. "If you lost track, I completely understand. Sometimes time flies when you're in love!" 'Come on, throw me a bone here!'
Izuku also laughed. "Don't worry, it's been a few months, maybe eight? How long has you wife been with you?"
"Twenty years."
The greenette whistled. "We'll, congrats on your anniversary!"
The blond smiled. "Well thank you young man." Suddenly, an idea formed. "Say, where are you from?"
"Kamino, sir." Izuku replied automatically. 'Where are you going with this?'
All Might nodded. "A beautiful place, indeed, especially if you're going straight back there." He placed a hand under his chin. "Actually, now that I think about it, I believe that Kamino was wiped off the map twenty years ago."
He didn't miss the look of complete horror emanating from the teen beside him.
All might turned to the greenette, all signs of friendliness vanishing. "So if you could cut the shit, tell me: who are you and why do you look like the young man I killed a year ago?"
The teen launched himself off the bench in terror. He looked towards Tsuyu, who had wandered in his direction. "Run!"
Then, everything exploded.
Izuku shakily turned his head towards the stranger, who had enlarged himself to be the icon he's known his entire life. "Tsuyu, go! It's All Might!"
"But Izuku!"
"I'll take care of him!" He rushed to the titan, full cowling already activated. He swung a leg at the man, and gasped in pain when All Might grabbed onto it, and threw him meters away.
Izuku groaned as he stood from the bench he'd collided into. "I forgot how strong he is even with the injury." He didn't have time to think more as a large shadow sealed over him.
It was an angry All Might.
A very angry one.
"I will ask you one last time." Piercing blue eyes stabbed into glowing green ones.
"Who are you, and what have you done with Izuku Midoriya?"
