House of Webs:
The club was in the tunnel and they had arrived in the spider task chamber
"Are you ready?" Asked Nina.
"Yes," said the club.
"Aaron you are our best spider walker, so you take the big spider," said Nina.
"Okay," said Aaron.
"Patricia, Eddie and I will each take a small spider and hang it on the hooks," said Nina.
"I'm ready," said Patricia.
"So am I," said Eddie.
"Amber and Alfie, one of you keep watch and the other one helps out by correcting if we need to," said Nina.
"I'll be the lookout," said Alfie.
"I will help you as best I can," said Amber.
"Now let's go for it," said Nina.
In the meantime Victor Sr. was still upstairs, he walked into Eddie's room and searched his room and found under Eddie's bed the bag with the box and the map.
Back in the tunnels, the club was busy with the trial. Nina and Patricia had already hung their spiders on the appropriate hooks. Eddie was only a few steps away from his hook.
"Okay, Eddie you have to go left now and bend down and go under the threads," said Amber.
"All right, here I go," said Eddie.
Eddie did as Amber said and moved his way through the threads.
"Okay, now turn carefully to the right and you can hang your spider," said Amber.
Eddie took a deep breath and carefully turned and hung the spider on the hook.
"It's on the hook," said Eddie.
"Now all that's left is the big spider," said Nina.
"I'll get it done," said Aaron.
"Anyone coming, Alfie?" Asked Nina.
"No, the coast is clear," said Alfie.
"Who is going to come here? Victor? He's locked in his office," said Eddie.
"And Victor doesn't have an amulet, so he can't get into the tunnel anyway," said Patricia.
"I know that, but with Victor we never know, we mustn't underestimate him," said Nina.
"Now, let's not worry about him. Let's make sure Aaron gets through this safely," said Amber.
"I've got this," said Aaron.
With the large spider under his arm, Aaron moved through the webs. He was doing very well for a while until his hand touched a silver thread and that stung him. And because of the sting, he dropped the spider.
"Ouch," yelled Aaron,
"What's the matter?" Asked Amber.
"My hand hit one of those silver threads," said Aaron.
"That thread makes it look like you've been bitten by a spider," said Alfie.
"Are you okay?" Asked Nina.
"Yeah, I'm fine, it just stung me a little that's all," said Aaron.
"Where's the spider?" Asked Amber.
"I dropped it," said Aaron.
"Go get it," said Amber.
"Be careful Aaron, the spider is right under a red thread and we don't know what the effect of that might be," said Nina.
"In any case, it must be worse than the effect of the yellow thread," said Patricia
"Please be careful, Aaron," said Amber.
"If you all just keep your mouths shut, we'll be fine," said Aaron.
Everyone was quiet and watched anxiously as Aaron carefully picked up the spider from the ground.
"Got it," said Aaron.
"Nice job," said Eddie.
"Now we finish this task," said Aaron.
Aaron continued and reached the end of the chamber. Aaron placed the spider in the hole, but he couldn't manage to get the spider in.
"Nothing's happening," said Aaron.
"So how is that possible?" Asked Patricia.
"That spider won't fit in the hole," said Aaron.
"Try moving the legs," said Nina.
Aaron moved the spider's legs so it would fit in the hole. The spider was now well inside the wall.
"Now what?" Asked Amber.
"Wait and see," said Nina.
There was a clicking sound and all the threads went into the wall. A platform appeared from the ground with the artifact.
"We did it," said Nina.
"The artifact is ours," said Aaron, as he took the artifact of the platform.
"No, it's mine," said Victor sr.
The club turned around and they saw Victor Sr. came running. Victor sr. grabbed the artifact out of Aaron's hands and pushed him to the ground and ran away.
"No, he has got the artifact!" Yelled Nina.
"Stop him!" Yelled Eddie.
The club ran after Victor sr. out of the tunnel. When the club got back to the cellar, Victor sr. was nowhere to be seen.
"He's not here," said Patricia.
"He has to be here somewhere, "said Aaron.
"We've got to find him and get that artifact back," said Nina.
"Start searching now, we can't let him get away," said Eddie.
The club ran out of the cellar and went looking for Victor sr. to get the artifact back. A few moments later, the club gathered in Eddie's room.
"Nowhere, he's nowhere to be found," said Aaron.
"He can't be gone like that, he must still be in the house," Nina.
"How did this happen? I locked him in his office," said Eddie.
"He probably knew you were gonna do this and he outsmarted us," said Nina.
"And now we've lost the artifact," said Amber.
"But we still have the mini house, so he can't use it," said Alfie.
"Where's the mini house?" Asked Patricia.
"Under my bed," said Eddie.
Eddie got down on his knees and looked under his bed and he was shocked to see that the bag with the chest was no longer there.
"No, no, no," said Eddie.
"What is it?" Asked Nina.
"The bag is gone, the bag with the mini house," said Eddie.
"And the map?" Asked Nina.
"That was also in the bag," said Eddie.
"It's over for us, we've got nothing," said Amber.
"I don't think so, we're gonna get it all back," said Eddie.
Eddie got up and walked out of the room and the rest of the club followed him. When the club got to the hallway, they saw Victor sr. walking into the cellar. The club went over to the cellar door and tried to get it open, but Victor sr. had already locked it.
Victor sr. entered the cellar and put the map down on the table, he took the mini house out of the bag.
"Victor," said Victor sr.
"Did you succeed?" Asked Victor jr.
"Of course I succeeded, I'm not failure like you, And now pay attention," said Victor sr.
Victor sr. removed the cap from the artifact and poured the content into the chimney.
"You see, nothing is happening," said Victor jr.
"Patience my son, patience," said Victor sr.
Smoke came out of the chimney and the roof of the mini house popped open.
"Victory is near," said Victor sr.
Suddenly, green light shone through the cellar window, the lamp above Victor Sr. began to flicker and the cellar began to shake.
"No, not again," said Victor sr.
"Father," said a scared Victor jr.
Victor sr. stood up and walked toward the map, he tried to grab it but flames appeared on it and the map was now on fire. Victor sr. ran towards the mini house and grabbed and fled the cellar and left Victor jr. alone.
"Father are you still there? Don't leave me here," begged Victor jr.
In the meantime the club still stood in front of the cellar door and tried to break it down. The cellar door opened and Victor sr. came out.
"It's long past ten o'clock, go away," said Victor sr.
"Don't think you'll get away with this," said Eddie.
"Everyone to their own room now!" Shouted Victor sr.
But the club stood their ground and didn't leave.
"If you don't want to listen, you feel the consequences," said Victor sr.
"I'm not scared of you," said Eddie.
"Then I'll start with you," threatened Victor sr.
Everyone in the club got a bit scared, but Eddie. Everyone went to their own room. Victor Sr. picked a big lock and locked the door of the cellar.
In the meantime, the cellar was still shaking and Victor jr. was getting more scared by the minute.
"Farewell my dear feathered friend, we'll see each other in the hereafter," said Victor jr.
The flames on the map went out and a text appeared. The shaking had stopped. Someone approached and walked up in the direction of Victor Jr.
"You? What are you doing here?" Asked Victor jr.
The next day. Aaron lay sleeping in his bed, but was awakened by items falling to the floor.
"What was that?" Asked Aaron.
"Sorry, I bumped into something," said Otis.
"It's Saturday. Why are you up so early?" Asked Aaron.
"Today is the auction, remember?" Said Otis.
"Oh, yeah, you're right," said Aaron.
"Pretty nervous about it," said Otis.
"I get it, You've got a lot of money to raise," said Aaron.
"And if there's no press, Mr. Sweet will lose his job," said Otis.
"Is there anything I can do for you?" Asked Aaron.
"Help me decide what to wear?" Asked Otis, as he was holding up two sweaters.
"Who do you think I am, Amber?" Asked Aaron.
"No, but you're brother and sister, so you must have some fashion sense," said Otis.
"I may not have as much fashion sense like my sister, but I know that you should wear blue sweater, because the other one looks a little too much like a Christmas sweater," said Aaron.
"Good point," said Otis.
Otis threw the green sweater on his bed and put on the blue one.
"How do I look?" Asked Otis.
"You look fine, okay," said Aaron.
"Do you think I should be wearing my contacts?" Asked Otis.
"But you hate wearing your contacts," said Aaron.
"Yes, but today everything must go well," said Otis.
"Just wear your glasses, and how you look isn't the important thing, the important thing is that you raise as much money as possible and make sure that Mr. Sweet stays principal," said Aaron.
"You're right, that's the most important thing today," said Otis.
In the meantime, Jerome and Mara were in the kitchen making final preparations for the auction and Mason was making the breakfast.
"Anything else we need to take care of now?" Asked Jerome.
"Classroom is ready, the stuff is there, no really," said Mara.
"Now we just have to hope that the press comes," said Jerome.
"Yeah, and let's hope this stuff will get us some money," said Mara.
"I'm also very excited about the auction, so if you need any help, just let me know," said Mason.
Mara was about to say something, but she was distracted by Trudy coming into the kitchen with Isaac's standee.
"And now a cup of tea," said Trudy, as she poured some the in the cup.
Trudy held the cup close to standee Isaac's mouth and then took a sip as well. Trudy turned around and saw Mara, Jerome and Mason looking at her with puzzled faces.
"Yes, I know, it's not Solomon, at least he was still talking to me. But it's still something," said Trudy.
Trudy gave the standee a kiss and walked out of the kitchen. Mara, Jerome and Otis burst into laughter as soon as Trudy was gone.
At the same time, the club sat at the table for breakfast, but none of them were very hungry and had other things on their minds.
"We now have nothing left at all," said Amber.
"Victor has everything now," said Aaron.
"And that's my fault," said Eddie.
"What do you mean your fault?" Asked Patricia.
"I really should have checked to see if he was in his office," said Eddie.
"He may have seen this coming and thought of something," said Nina.
"How could I have thought that dummy was really Victor?" Asked Eddie.
"There was nothing wrong with your plan, Victor unfortunately outsmarted us," said Nina.
"And I should have hidden the chest better, because now he has it, too," said Eddie.
"And he's got the map too," said Aaron.
"So what now?" Asked Amber.
"Let's all go see what's next," said Nina.
"Sold," said Alfie.
"Alfie, get your head in the game," said Amber.
"What game?" Asked Alfie.
"Now we all have to come up with a plan of what to do," said Nina.
"That's not possible now, I'm auction master," said Alfie.
"Alfie, Victor probably has the new clue by now, because he's got the artefact and the mini house," said Nina.
"And what about the order?" Asked KT.
"I don't know, but we'll take good care of you," said Nina.
KT nodded her head, but still didn't feel completely relieved.
In the meantime, Victor Sr. walked toward the cellar. Victor sr. removed the locks from the door and walked into the cellar, but instead of ending up in the cellar, he was suddenly in the attic.
What happened to the cellar? Why does the door of the cellar suddenly lead to the attic?
