Jace Herondale, Alec Lightwood and his sister Isabelle Lightwood arrive at Three Arrows Farm to see Clary, fighting Maia Roberts, Bat Velasquez and Glenn.
Isabelle is about to jump into the fray when Luke's disembodied voice said, "Don't… those three are the best fighters The New York Pack ever produced, and they agreed to help Clary train."
"But she isn't capable-"
"Yes… she is." Jace said, "I watched her take down 2 vamps by herself"
"Who trained her." Alec asked.
"I did…" Jocelyn Garroway said, "I started training her at age 5… Clary don't ware yourself out you've got patrol in 30…"
"K.. mom"
40 minutes later 2 vampires out for revenge bare down on Clary, Isabelle is about to come to the rescue when Clary punches one of them and a very large gash appears.
From the shadows Isabelle thinks, I didn't see her draw a blade how is she cutting them?
As the first vampire falls Clary moves on to the second punching it in the gut and cutting straight up and all it's internal organs start flowing to the ground. The third looks at Clary covered in black blood and turns and runs.
Walking past a shadow Clay says, "Next time make yourself useful or stop following me, Isabelle."
Isabelle watches as Clary disappears into a small cabin and follows her.
"It used to be used by the mail service, if a carrier got caught it a storm, they could stay here till it passed." Clary said, "Now all they see is a burned-out cabin."
Putting on the fresh gear Clary stows her blades in their hideaway pockets.
"What Weapon did you use, I didn't see you draw a Seraph blade" Isabelle commented, and before she knew what was happening there was a karambit at her throat and Clary said, "If you can see it so can they."
She could feel the blades slight pressure against the side if her neck, saying, "I don't have access to Seraph Blade's, and these will do."
I didn't see her move, where were those hidden? Isabelle thinks when Clary discreetly slips the karambit back in its hiding place.
"I've got to finish patrol, if you're going to follow me."
Isabelle looks at the script on the cabinet saying, "That's not Runic."
Glancing over her shoulder Clary said, "No it's not, It's Angelic script… and yes, I can read it.?"
"Isabelle if your mother wants to know how good how about we set up a 3 on 1 match, if I take out all three of you, you leave me alone."
Clary headed out to finish her patrol
Manhattan, New York two days later The New York Institute training room, Clary Fairchild awaited the arrival of Jace and the Lightwoods.
Looking at Jace, Alec and Isabelle, Maryse Lightwood's disembodied voice asks, "Who will you fight."
Glancing over her shoulder Clary said, "All three of them… Simultaneously."
Remembering one of the drills her mother would put her through until it became muscle memory and Smirking Clay said, "Let's make this interesting…"
Reaching into here hidden compartments and taking out her 2 karambit's Clary said, "No weapons… you have to fight your way to one."
Tapping her temple Clary said, "This is the only weapon I need."
Three young Shadowhunter's eyed one another tentatively as all the sudden the entire room went dark, without warning and in a bur
of motion. As Shadowhunter's went Isabelle was no slouch but Clary hit her in the gut
"U-U-U-M-M-F-F-F-F-F"
Then she felt her knee give out, Isabelle didn't see or hear the strike that knocked her out but she felt it as she tried to drag herself out of the range of combat.
Thanks to her mother's training Clary had honed her senses to a razors edge and unlike Jace and the Lightwoods she didn't use angelic runes as a crutch then again thanks to her angelic blood she had natural night vision.
Clary took Alec out before moving on to Jace.
UUUMMFFFFF… UUUMMFFFFF… UUUMMFFFFF
Thud-a-thwap
At the doorway Maryse thought, that sounded like Alec.
Moments later Maryse hears.
UUUMMFFFFF… UUUMMFFFFF… UUUMMFFFFF
Thud-a-thwap
Maryse thinks, that sounds like Jace… she couldn't have…
"Lights" Clary called, as Maryse Lightwood saw her three most experienced hunters taken down and zip tied at the wrists and ankles.
Looking at Maryse, Clary said, "As good as they are, they rely on angelic runes too much, I don't."
