Chapter 59

What a season 5 finale! Hoping by the time I post we've been confirmed for season 6. I think they will get another season only because it makes sense logically from a business aspect. Also, the cast doesn't seem as desperate or pleading to the fans this time around. I'm sure there are just some details being ironed out. It seems like our international fans are slowly getting season 5 as we speak as well! Can't wait to see what you all think. Anyways, if you can, campaign for season 6 just to tell paramount and CBS studios how much we love this show. Sorry for the delay in updating. Work is crazy and will be for about the next two months unfortunately. Enjoy!

A couple of months had passed from the team's two week off vacation, post deployment. Ray had gone off to officer training for his warrant officer position. Jason and the team were doing training and spinning up on whatever ops Mandy or anyone could find for them.

Mandy and Jason had come back and moved into the beach house as well. The kids were staying with them for the summer as well. They'd become a makeshift family having the dogs as well. Jessica and Troy had moved to Virginia Beach as well. Jessica and Susan helped out whenever Mandy and Jason had to leave.

Mandy was currently walking the hallways of base when her phone started ringing. She looked down at her phone and smiled.

"Hello?" Mandy answered curiously.

"What are you wearing?"

Mandy laughed, "Pretty sure you already know that answer from this morning but if you must know, I'm walking naked down the hallways of base."

Suddenly Mandy was pulled from the hallway into the cage room. She barely had a chance to gather her surroundings before Jason's lips were on hers and he was backing her up to the counter in the center of the room.

"You're unsatisfiable," Mandy laughed as Jason lifted her on to the counter.

"Are you complaining?" Jason asked as his hand ran up her left side and stopped at the rib cage. Jason's hand lingered there knowing what was there now.

(Flashback begins)

It had been a couple of weeks since coming home and Jason had just packed up his last box of things from his place. He stood in the center of the apartment looking around.

"One last moment with your beloved microwave," Mandy said standing in the doorway.

"Nah, I got better company now," Jason smiled pulling Mandy in for a kiss. "Second thoughts on me moving in?"

"Nah, I've put up with you this long," Mandy joked.

They'd loaded up the last few items and decided to grab lunch before heading to the house. It was a nice day, so they were sitting outside eating on a patio.

Mandy looked across the street and spoke, "I always thought about getting something done."

"What?" Jason asked confused.

"Getting a tattoo," Mandy replied nodding her head towards the tattoo parlor.

"Let's go then," Jason said as they finished lunch.

"What?" Mandy asked. "Now?"

"Why not?" Jason shrugged as he took her hand and started to cross the street.

They walked in and were greeted by someone. Mandy wasn't sure what she wanted so she looked around.

"You know what, never mind," Mandy shook her head trying to back out.

"Wait, wait," Jason said grabbing a hold of her. "Whatever you get, I'll get too. If you really don't want to do this then we'll leave."

Mandy looked at him and then something caught her eye behind him. She walked past Jason and saw infinity symbol drawings.

"Can we customize these?" Mandy asked.

"Sure, whatever you want," the guy answered.

(End Flashback)

Jason was brought out of the memory by Mandy's hand on his chest, just above his heart where he'd gotten his. Jason lifted her shirt up to reveal a black infinity symbol. One loop had an anchor intertwined while the other side had the word "love" intertwined. Inside one circle Mandy had Jason's initials of "JH" while the other had "B1". Jason's was the same except for having Mandy's and the kids' initials.

"Yours," Mandy whispered as Jason picked her up and walked into his cage.

"Mine," Jason said kissing her passionately.

"That was fun," Jason smirked as he adjusted his clothes.

"Yes, and we got lucky no one came in," Mandy smirked back as she re-buttoned her shirt.

"Lucky, indeed," Jason smiled as he helped Mandy adjust her shirt collar and then kissing her again.

"Okay, sailor, calm down or we will get caught," Mandy laughed in between kisses. "I gotta go anyways," Mandy said looking at her watch as they walked out of the cage.

"Still leaving tonight?" Jason said as he opened the door to head into the hallway.

"Yes," Mandy answered. "I should be able to make it for dinner before leaving tomorrow morning. What are you up to?"

"Thinking about hitting the gun range," Jason replied as they walked towards the stairs. "Well, well, well. If it isn't Warrant Officer Perry," Jason said seeing Ray approach from behind Mandy.

"If it isn't the lovebirds base won't stop talking about," Ray quipped back as he hugged them both.

"Good to see you, Ray," Mandy smiled. "How you doing?"

"Good, though I'm being called into a meeting already with some intel officer already," Ray replied.

"Wow, now I'm just some intel officer to you?" Mandy joked.

"Ray already rolling with the best," Jason smiled proudly looking at Mandy.

"Seriously? I'm rolling with you?" Ray asked.

"Yep. Why, want someone else?" Mandy smirked.

"No, no. As far as spooks go, I trust and like you," Ray joked. "Lead the way."

"Okay. See you tonight," Mandy turned to Jason and kissed him.

"Love you," Jason said softly.

"Love you too," Mandy replied as she and Ray walked down the hall.

"Wow," Ray commented breaking the silence.

"What?" Mandy asked.

"Love you, love you too," Ray raised an eyebrow. "Naima said you guys moved in together too. Some beach house the kids wouldn't stop raving about how Aunt Mandy has the best houses. I'm happy for you two."

"We're happy too," Mandy smiled.

"And thank you for looking out for Naima while I was away," Ray said seriously. "It meant a lot that you and everyone was there to support her with the new house when I couldn't."

"We're family Ray. Goes without saying," Mandy said before opening the door to the briefing room they'd be in.

Mandy walked into the house later that night and greeted by Sarge and Gunner. She could hear the kids out back and someone in the kitchen. She walked in to see Jason seasoning some steaks for the grill.

"Hey," Mandy smiled as she put her stuff down and walked towards Jason.

"Hey, just about to put these on the grill. Emma and Mikey made a couple sides surprisingly," Jason said giving her a peck on the lips.

"Very domestic of us," Mandy laughed.

"Until one of us gets called away of course. Since when did my kids cook?" Jason wondered.

"Since they met my Mom probably," Mandy shook her head. "I'm gonna change."

Mandy joined Jason and the kids outside on the patio for dinner. Never in a million years did Mandy think she'd have all this. A man who loved her or kids that looked up to her. She was grateful for it all as she looked at all of them. Mandy caught Jason's eyes who was asking silently if she was alright, and Mandy just shook her head.

"How long will you be gone for?" Mikey asked while eating.

"Not sure, hopefully not more than a week if things go according to plan," Mandy answered.

"Is it safe where you're going?" Emma asked.

"Safe enough," Mandy answered vaguely while looking over to Jason. "Ray will be with me as well."

"Why isn't Dad going with you?" Mikey asked.

"Well, I do all the hard work first and then call your Dad in to finish the rest," Mandy smirked at Jason.

"Right, all the hard work," Jason rolled his eyes.

"Will you be back in time to help me move things into your place back in New York this weekend?" Emma asked.

"I should be able to meet you guys there," Mandy stated vaguely. She knew she shouldn't make promises she might no be able to keep.

The rest of the night went with them spending time together. They had some desert and watched a movie before the kids headed off to bed. Mandy and Jason stayed up a little longer. Looking over at Jason, Mandy got up and reached for his hand while leading him outside and towards the path to the beach. They got to the end of the walkway and sat down on the steps. The skies were clear of clouds with the moon shining down on them. Mandy sat on the step below Jason in between his legs. Jason had his hands around her shoulders as Mandy leaned back.

"Gonna miss you," Jason said as they listened to the waves.

"Hopefully, Ray and I will call you guys sooner rather than later to join us," Mandy replied. "We think we could have a lead on Roman in Tunisia. Not sure how I'm gonna approach it with the intel officers there. Lot of corruption to deal with it seems."

"Promise me you'll be careful," Jason sighed as he kissed her hair.

"Always," Mandy said tilting her head back to kiss him. "I hope we get a lead soon. Feels like I'm chasing a ghost."

"You'll get it, you always do," Jason encouraged. "Can't believe two months have passed by already and the kids will be going back soon."

"Time flies," Mandy replied. "I'm glad they feel welcomed here."

"They love you just like me," Jason squeezed her.

"I love them too," Mandy admitted.

Jason was overcome with emotions, "I love you. Let's go to bed."

"Love you too," Mandy said as Jason helped her up and kissed her under the moonlight.

"Ambassador, you've had several attacks in the past few weeks," Ray said.

"All of which, innocent lives are being taken," Mandy added as they sat in a room across from the Tunisian ambassador.

"If you'd just give us the chance, we could hunt down these guys," Ray followed up.

"I understand, however having American soldiers running around our country shooting people causes its own set of problems," the ambassador replied.

"With all due respect ma'am, we're sailors. No one would ever know we're here," Ray stressed.

"My hands are tied," the ambassador said as she began to get up.

"And Roman Riley," Mandy called out coldly. "What's being done about that situation. Our intel suggests he may be connected to some of the recent attacks. Need I remind you Roman Riley is an American most wanted criminal if anyone here participates in helping him, we will hunt them down."

The ambassador had paused and turned back towards them, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Let me refresh your memory then," Mandy said as she pulled a picture out from her folder and slid it across the table. "From what we can tell, Riley has funded at least two attacks as well as asked for things from the local rebel groups."

Ray kept an eye on the ambassador as well as Mandy, trying to read the room. It was interesting to watch Mandy do what she does. He'd always known she was good at her job. He also felt a sense of privilege he got to see two completely different sides to her. Here she was a cold heart spook like most thought she was. However, Ray also knew there was a soft side to her. In recent times, that soft side often involved his best friend and brother, Jason.

"Is your intel solid?" the ambassador asked.

"It's as solid as it's going to be not having any actual boots on the ground officially," Mandy challenged.

"As I said before, my hands are tied," the ambassador repeated before leaving.

"Well, that went well," Ray sighed.

"It did," Mandy said staring at the door as it closed.

"You've got that look on your face. That same one Jason gets when his mind starts running with an idea," Ray smirked.

"How about we go grab something to eat," Mandy said smiling as they got up to leave.

Ray and Mandy walked down the street to a little café to grab a bite. They found a table and ordered something. They were silent for a few minutes before Mandy began talking.

"You handled yourself well with the ambassador," Mandy complimented.

"Thank you," Ray smiled. "Learned from the best."

"Don't let Jason hear that," Mandy laughed as Ray shook his head. "I know we have you moving quickly here. How are you?"

"Everything is moving fast. Wish I could've had a little time at home before starting all this. Wanted to help Naima get settled in the new house," Ray confessed.

"I know," Mandy sighed. "She wouldn't let us help a lot. Said she wanted to give you a honey do list."

"Thank you again, for taking care of them. It really means a lot that you and Jason helped out. I know you guys were busy with a move as well. By the way, tired of living with Jason Hayes yet?" Ray said

"Well, we're both alpha personality control freaks living together," Mandy shrugged. "No, but it's good. The kids stayed with us the last couple of months. When we get back, we were gonna head up to New York and help Emma move into my place in the city there."

"Do I want to know how much real estate you actually have?" Ray laughed.

"No, I don't think you want to know that answer," Mandy laughed.

"So, you have a lead on Roman out here," Ray asked seriously.

"Yeah, he's having contact with someone out here. He may have been here at some point. Just can't get a lot of solid intel without being closer to it all. On top of that, DC doesn't want to step on anyone's toes out here," Mandy sighed.

"You'll get him, you always do," Ray said confidently.

"Let me guess, based on faith," Mandy asked as Ray smiled back. Mandy's phone started going off, "Oh, it's Jason. I told him I'd check in afterwards. Do you mind if I step out for a moment?"

"Go ahead, tell them I say hi," Ray replied.

"Hey," Mandy smiled as she answered the video call just outside the café.

"Hey," Jason smiled back.

"Hi Mandy!" Emma and Mikey said behind him.

"Hi guys," Mandy laughed as Jason got up to have some privacy.

"How's it going?" Jason said as he walked out onto the patio. "I miss you."

"Ha, it's barely been a day," Mandy smiled. "I miss you too. It went as well as it could've gone. Basically, we're being stone walled."

"And Roman?" Jason asked.

"We got the impression they know about him, but they wouldn't say much on that as well. Country is unstable at the moment, and everyone is a little gun shy at the idea of American soldiers running around here," Mandy said frustratedly. "It's like things have to get worse before everyone caves."

"How's Ray?" Jason said.

"He held his own," Mandy said proudly.

"Think we'll be spun up?" Jason wondered.

"I want to say no, we've got just over a day to try and convince them or work any intel we can with our limited access," Mandy replied.

"Make it back for this weekend?" Jason asked.

"I hope so," Mandy sighed. "I really want to be there."

"I know," Jason said. "I know you'll do everything you can to make it back in time. I love you."

"I lo-," Mandy began to say before a loud explosion went off and everything went black.
