Shortly after finally arriving at the top of the stairs, Po was so out of breath MaSha nearly convinced him to give her the heavy items. Only for him to refuse and carried them himself with an exhausted huff. Darn he was stubborn. How does her equally stubborn sister deal with him?
"Didn't let you carry anything?" Tigress asked with a smile. MaSha had made it to the kitchen where she found both Tigress and Yang enjoying some tea.
"No! He refused!" MaSha crossed her arms. "I am more than capable of carrying my own things."
"Just let him have it." Tigress took a sip. "He doesn't even give in with a threat." Po walked in, very evidently tired and rushed to get a cup of water. He sighed in sweet relief as he finally drank a full glass in a split second.
"Did you guys have fun?" Yang asked.
"Wung Ho Valley has so much stuff!" Po responded excitedly. "Sure it's not as big as the Valley of Peace but they even have action figures we don't have."
"It was alright." MaSha sat besides Yang.
"Oh come on MaSha." Po smiled at her. "You have to admit, it was fun!"
"I don't have to admit anything, Dragon Warrior." MaSha looked away from him. Tigress and Po both frowned at the change of her tone.
"MaSha." Tigress looked at her disappointed. MaSha looked at her sister and frowned.
"Fine. It was a bit fun." MaSha admitted. "You happy now?"
"Very much." Tigress smiled. Po smiled sadly at her. What did he do wrong now?
Po sighed as he sat on his bed, quite disappointed from the day. He really thought going to the Village would have gotten MaSha to open up more. He kind of succeeded in a way. She didn't turn him down when he tried making a conversation with her nor did she punch him when he made a dumb joke.
He was finding it way more difficult to become her friend than he had with Tigress. At least Tigress gave him a chance to become friends and now she was his best friend. Yet his best friend's sister didn't like him. At least that's what he thought? He really hoped that when he begins to teach her how to carve for the next few days, he could get her to open up.
Tigress chuckled as she watched Po and MaSha sparring in the training hall. MaSha had promised to not use her chi and Po had promised to not go too easy on MaSha. He considered that since MaSha was much younger than him, she wasn't as strong. Oh boy was he ever wrong.
The young teen had already tossed him across the training hall a dozen times, breaking equipment along the way. He supposed he should have considered that MaSha had been doing Kung Fu for much longer than he had so she had more experience. It also made sense that she took him down so easily with her style. MaSha used Tigress's style. He still found that style to be unpredictable and struggled to keep up with her. She's just as unpredictable as her older sister!
"Come on, Dragon Warrior!" MaSha rolled her eyes. "I thought you were supposed to be the greatest warrior China has ever seen."
Po huffed as he sat up from the wall he had just crashed into. Miraculously he didn't make a whole in the poor wall.
"You're tougher than you look." He took a deep breath. He stood up and prepared himself. "Alright, no more going easy." He cracked his knuckles and took an offensive stance. MaSha raised a brow and got ready to attack him.
Tigress smiled as she witnessed the two exchange blows. Po knew enough of Tigress's style to predict her moves at times but he barely knew MaSha. MaSha would lunge at him from different directions, striking him with great force to his abdomen. She even knocked him off his feet at times but he was able to regain himself quickly.
MaSha was quite impressed with him as well as he was able to avoid her strikes and catch her off guard at times. They didn't last long but it was impressive he could keep up.
"Hiyah!" MaSha yelled as she struck a powerful kick to him, sending him flying towards Tigress. Tigress's eyes widened seeing the flying panda going towards her and moved just in time to send him out of the hall and into the courtyard, towards the large set of stairs.
"Whoops." MaSha smiled innocently as they heard the panda's cries of pain disappear down the stairs.
"You've gotten stronger." Tigress told her. The two sisters were in the scroll room for the evening.
"I've been working on my kicks." MaSha smiled as she picked up a scroll. The Opal Palace scroll room was more organized than the Jade Palace. They held a lot less scrolls than the Jade Palace so it was easier to keep track of where they were and where they went. "I may have this curse but I can fight other ways."
"So you're taking my style?" Tigress smiled softly.
"Of course!" MaSha turned to her. "Your style is so graceful and composed! I've read basically every scroll you have on it!"
"No you haven't." Tigress shook her head.
"Well, except the one you refuse to let me read." MaSha pouted.
"And you'll never read it." Tigress picked up another scroll.
"I don't understand why." MaSha crossed her arms. "You wrote it." Tigress looked at her with her soft smile.
"Not feeling anything in your paws or arms is not as great as you think." Tigress placed a paw on her sister's shoulder.
"But it would really help with my baths." MaSha frowned, looking forward. "I wouldn't feel the pain from the water without the salts."
"True." Tigress nodded. "But how do we know it won't damage your insides. As far as we know normal water damages your skin and fur. We don't know if it will do damage to anything else." MaSha held her arms crossed and looked at Tigress.
"I supposed." MaSha sighed in defeat.
"Besides," Tigress bumped her playfully, "if you didn't feel anything in your paws, you wouldn't be able to feel Yang's paws on yours." Tigress smiled, making the young teen blush slightly.
"Do you ever regret it?" MaSha asked softly.
"Honestly…" Tigress looked at her paws. She held a scroll she couldn't even feel anymore. "Sometimes I do. I haven't felt anything in years. I've forgotten what a scroll even feels like anymore." MaSha frowned looking at her. "But…back in Gongmen," Tigress smiled lightly, "when I was laying on a piece of floating wood, Po took my paw. And for the first time, I felt his touch. I hadn't felt anything before that, yet I felt him taking my paw into his."
"Sounds to me like he's making you soft." MaSha shoved her teasingly. Tigress chuckled lightly.
"No." Tigress shook her head with a smile before frowning once again. "A few hours after Lord Shen's defeat, he took my paw once again and I couldn't feel it. I didn't even know he had taken it until Monkey and Mantis had pointed it out." Tigress had put the scroll down and was attempting to feel one paw with the other. "I don't want you to make the same mistake I made." MaSha smiled sadly, placing a paw on her shoulder.
"Maybe one day you'll feel it again. And then you'll be able to feel The Dragon Warrior in anyway you want." MaSha laughed teasingly. Tigress laughed along and shoved her playfully.
"Hey girls." A third voice suddenly joined them. Precisely who they were talking about. Hopefully he didn't hear anything MaSha had just said. "What you girls reading?" Po asked as he walked over to them.
"Just some scrolls Tigress wrote." MaSha answered him. Po chuckled as he rubbed his neck. He could still feel the pain from the stairs.
"I see. You're learning her style."
"Learning?" MaSha raised a brow. "I know it better than anyone that isn't her."
"I believe that." Po chuckled once again.
"Are you looking for a scroll Po?" Tigress asked him softly. Po grew nervous at the question. He wasn't expecting anyone to be in here. Much less the sisters.
"Actually," Po bit his lip nervously, "I was kind of hoping on…" Po looked nervous between the two sisters. "I was hoping to find something more on The Tiger's Chi." He smiled nervously. MaSha could have sworn she nearly ripped the scroll she held apart.
"There isn't anything on that!" She yelled.
"MaSha!" Tigress scolded her.
"NO!" MaSha looked at her sister. Tigress could see fear in MaSha's eyes. "We don't talk about it!"
"MaSha I promise I just want to know a little more." Po told her calmly. She looked at him and he could see the fear rise in her.
"Why do you want to know?!" MaSha raised her voice.
"Because I want to help you." Po spoke to her in a calm voice.
"You can't help me." MaSha growled.
"Not if I don't know anything." Po frowned. "Please. I know it's a sensitive topic but I just want to help." MaSha growled at him, clenching her fists but he did not flinch. He stood his ground looking at her with calm eyes. Tigress frowned as she watched her sister looking at The Dragon Warrior with fear in her eyes but anger written on her face. She stood and walked over to her and placed a paw on her shoulder. MaSha looked at her and her fists rested and her anger disappeared but the fear in her eyes remained. Tigress smiled sadly at her.
MaSha looked at Po, seeing he was being sincere. She wasn't sure how she knew but…she knew. He really wanted to know.
"Give it to him." MaSha whispered softly enough for Tigress to hear before she walked out of the scroll room.
"I didn't mean to upset her." Po frowned. Tigress looked at him and smiled sadly.
"Come with me Po." Tigress told him. Po looked towards where MaSha had just walked out of before following Tigress through the scroll room.
Po watched as she carefully navigated through the scroll room and came to a special looking shelf. She carefully picked out a red and orange scroll and turned to him.
"This scroll contains everything you need to know Po." She smiled softly at him. "Not many know what this scroll contains. And those who do, aren't allowed to speak of it unless absolutely necessary."
"Why?" Po frowned. Tigress walked up to him, leaving hardly any room in between them.
"It contains how The Furious Five first found MaSha. Who our mother is and what The Tiger's Chi does to her." She placed the scroll in his paws. Po clenched the scroll, trapping Tigress's paws temporarily before letting go. "Just promise you won't treat her differently when you read this. It's more hurtful to her than you think." Po looked down at the scroll in his paws and gulped before nodding at Tigress.
"I promise." Tigress smiled softly before backing away from him and leaving the room.
Leaving a nervously confused panda to read whatever secrets the scroll contained.
He's going to learn! YAY! Now things are rolling hehe :)
Don't worry they'll do stuff with the carving later.
