Chapter 14

Penguin breathed in the fresh air, a huge smile on his face. The afternoon had turned out so much better than he'd even dared to hope when his father sent him out to take Bepo for a walk.

Oh yeah, he would let his father know when he'd go home. He took out his phone and selected the chat with his dad. 'Leaving now,' he typed. Penguin decided to take a small detour home, as Law was expecting him to come from Shachi's home, which was at least a 15-minute walk, instead of the 10 minutes he needed from Killer's home.

He walked on clouds the whole way home. He had been kissing with Killer for almost two hours straight. And not only that, but Penguin had had his first orgasm brought on by someone else. His first sexual experience, even though you could barely call it that. Penguin bit his lip as he thought back at it. And most importantly; they were now officially dating. The butterflies couldn't stop fluttering around in his stomach.

His smile hadn't disappeared when he entered his home. He found Law in the living room, rearranging a pillow on the couch. His hair was slightly messy. "Oh, hey, welcome back," he said when he noticed Penguin. "Had fun?"

Penguin couldn't help but grin. "Yeah, I had fun."

Law sat down carefully. "Good. I'm glad you got out of the house for a bit."

"Haven't you started on dinner yet?" Penguin said, slightly surprised to find his father doing nothing much. That was the reason why he'd had to text him when he went back home, right?

Law groaned, as if hadn't thought about dinner until now. "To be honest, I don't really have the energy to cook right now. How about we order take-out tonight?"

Penguin shrugged. "Sure. Chinese?"

"Chinese it is," Law answered, as he grabbed his phone.

"I'm just gonna change real quick," Penguin said as casual as possible. "I spilled some juice on my pants."

"Okay, but don't take too long, or I'll order something for you."

Penguin dashed up the stairs, just glad his father didn't seem to suspect anything, and glad he could finally get out of his sticky underwear.

As soon he had closed the door behind Penguin, Killer let his head fall against it, a big smile on his face, and his heart pounding in his chest. The past two hours had been amazing. God, he wished Penguin could have stayed longer. But if his father had seen them together… He didn't want to think about how his father would react. It couldn't be good.

He sighed and pushed himself off the door. He first went to throw away the tissues and clean up the glasses and the bowl he had placed on the floor for Bepo. When he walked into the kitchen, he noticed what a mess the dog had made. There was water everywhere around the bowl. Killer shook his head and after putting away the dishes, he got out a cloth to dry the floor. He decided to take it upstairs to the washing bin immediately, together with his dirty clothes. Just when he'd put on a clean outfit, he saw his father's car pull up. He thought really quick if there were any traces of Penguin's visit left to hide, but couldn't think of anything. Except for maybe some dog hair, he suddenly realized. But it was too late to get the vacuum cleaner out now. He hoped it wouldn't stand out.

Killer stayed in his room, where he'd already been when his father had left. He heard the front door open and close, and Kid hanging up his coat.

"I'm back!" he shouted. "Have you started on dinner yet?"

Killer opened the door of his room, annoyed. "No. I didn't know I was supposed to." His father had never mentioned him having to cook today.

"Well, I'm exhausted," he said. "Let's order pizza."

Killer snorted, but was glad he didn't have to cook, as he didn't feel like cooking at all. "Fine. Pepperoni for me."

"I know," he heard his dad say, before Killer locked himself in his room again.

The first two hours on Monday were reserved for English, and Penguin took the opportunity to bring Shachi up to speed on what happened the day before – well, most of it. They had to work together on some story in class, so everyone in the room was talking, and no one paid attention to them.

Still, Penguin made sure to talk as quietly as possible. "Okay, so, let's not talk about this story we have to write, we can do that later. I've got more important things to tell you," he started, immediately having Shachi's full attention. "Because I've negotiated, and I'm allowed to tell you now."

"Tell me what?" Shachi said impatiently.

"About Killer!" Penguin hissed. "So, I went to his house yesterday – my father thinks I was at your place by the way – and his father was out, so he let me in." He could barely contain his excitement. "We've been making out, like, the whole time! Oh my god, Shach, it was so good! And we're officially dating now! But secretly," he added quickly. "He still doesn't want anyone to know, but I promised him you could keep his secret, so I could tell you."

Shachi laughed. "That's great! I'm so happy for you, man!"

"But," Penguin said in a serious tone, "he told me he'd kill you if you ever told anyone about this. And I'm only 90% sure that doesn't mean he'll actually murder you, so you'd better keep your mouth shut."

Shachi snorted. "Red flag, red flag," he said jokingly. "No, but you know I won't tell anyone. Is there anything I can do to convince him too?"

Penguin shook his head. "Probably not. But he seems to trust me in trusting you, so that's good."

"So, does that mean the two of you will disappear into dark corners to make out at school?"

Penguin smirked at the idea. "I wish. But I don't think he'll take that much risk. We're going to pretend to hate each other at school, so we won't start kissing in the middle of the classroom."

Shachi raised his eyebrow. "That sounds like a stupid idea."

Penguin shrugged. "Gotta do something to stop myself," he mumbled.

At that moment the teacher walked by, and the two of them quickly started talking about the assignment. During the two hours, Penguin kept looking at the clock. He wondered why time was going so incredibly slow. He loved Shachi, but honestly, he wished their shared English class would be over. Because his next class was math, which he shared with Killer. And he couldn't wait to see him again.

When the bell finally rang, Penguin quickly packed his bag and got up.

"Where are you going?" Shachi asked him.

Penguin looked slightly confused at his friend. Wasn't it obvious? "Math," he explained.

Shachi snorted. "We've got a break first, remember?"

"Shit," Penguin lowered his head. "I forgot."

Now Shachi was full out laughing. "I've never heard anyone say 'shit' when they were told they could take a break." He shook his head. "You must have it bad."

Penguin felt his cheeks heat up. "Shut up."

When the break finally came to an end, Penguin was the first to show up in their math classroom. "Good morning," he greeted Ms. Tashigi.

The teacher looked surprised at him. "Good morning, Penguin."

He sat down and started unpacking. While his classmates slowly started to enter the room, he got out his bottle of water. In his impatience to get to math, he had forgotten to drink during the break.

He put the bottle to his mouth when he saw Killer and Heat walk in together. Penguin hadn't chosen his seat at random, as it was the one before where Killer and Heat were usually sitting. And surely enough, they were headed that way.

Penguin and Killer made eye contact for just a second, and Killer smiled, before the duo walked past Penguin.

"You're in a good mood today," he heard Heat say as they took the desks behind Penguin.

Without looking over his shoulder, Penguin could hear Killer sitting down on the seat directly behind him.

"Am I?" Killer asked.

"Honestly," replied his friend. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you'd gotten laid."

Penguin couldn't suppress a laugh and choked on his water. While he was coughing and trying to stop laughing, he felt Killer kick against his chair.

"Don't say stupid things like that, Heat. See what you're doing to poor Penguin!" Killer said with a little venom in his voice.

"I'm sorry," Penguin said when he recovered from his coughing fit, turning to Heat. "It's just, the idea that anyone would want to have sex with him… hilarious."

Heat frowned. "Dude."

"Killer isn't that bad looking," Drake, a classmate who was just passing by, said, and Penguin's head snapped up at him, his eyes trying to murder him on the spot. Was he flirting with Killer?

But the guy didn't seem to notice his glare and tapped against Killer's biceps. "And have you seen those arms?"

He was definitely flirting with Killer.

But Killer didn't seem to notice this, and just smirked. "Thanks," he said appreciatingly.

Drake smiled at him. "Any time," he said, as he continued towards his desk.

Both Penguin and Heat were staring at Killer, and Killer looked from the one to the other. "What?"

"Was he… flirting with you?" Heat asked.

Killer looked a little worriedly at him. "No, of course not."

"He was." Penguin wasn't able to keep the anger out of his voice completely. If anyone was going to be openly flirting with Killer, it was going to be him.

"You're just jealous," Killer said annoyed.

Penguin looked surprised at him, as he hadn't expected him to say that. "I am?"

"Yeah, because he complemented me, not you." Killer shook his head. "Jeez, can't a dude just compliment another dude?"

Penguin snorted. "On his arms?!"

But at that moment Ms. Tashigi announced the start of her lesson, and Penguin turned his head towards the teacher.

A minute or two later, he got out his phone. He hid it underneath his book, while selecting his chat with Killer. After a moment of hesitation, he wrote: 'Drake really was flirting with you though.'

It took only a minute to get an answer. 'And you really are jealous.'

'But he wasn't flirting,' Killer added quickly.

Penguin sighed and put his phone away. Why wouldn't Killer believe him? If Penguin had been the one to make a comment like that, he would probably have gotten angry with him.

Suddenly, an idea popped up in his head and he smirked. Well, if Killer didn't think it was flirting…

When the bell rang to signal the end of the hour, Penguin quickly packed his stuff and waited just outside the classroom for Killer to come out.

When Killer stepped through the door, Penguin smiled at him and touched his arm, letting his fingers run over the muscles he found there. "I have to admit, Drake was right," Penguin said, loud enough for anyone near them to hear. "You really do have nice arms."

Killer's eyes shot fire, and within a moment, he had pushed Penguin against the wall. "Stop mocking me!"

It was exactly the reaction Penguin had expected. "I'm not mocking you," he said, and then he lowered his voice to a whisper. "I'm flirting with you." He looked into Killer's eyes and felt a stirring between his legs. Fuck, did he liked being pushed up against a wall by Killer? He certainly didn't mind…

"Oh, for Christ's sake!" Tashigi said angrily.

Killer let go of him immediately and threw his hands up. "Nothing going on, Ms.!" He tried to save his ass from having to go to the principal again. Then he turned to Penguin. "Fine. You win."

In his next class, Killer couldn't concentrate. He worried. Hadn't he been too rough with Penguin? He had to admit Penguin had proved his point. When he had complemented Killer's arms, Killer had definitely seen it as flirting, and instantly went into panic mode, which meant attacking Penguin.

He regretted it now. Even though they would pretend to hate each other, he hadn't had to slam him into the wall like that. He shouldn't have acted so furious.

He got out his phone. 'I didn't hurt you, did I?' he sent to Penguin.

It took a few minutes to get an answer. 'Not physically, no.'

Killer staired at the message. What did that mean? 'I wasn't really angry, you know that right?' He texted back.

'You seemed kinda angry.'

'I panicked,' Killer wrote back. 'I'm sorry.'

When he hadn't gotten a reply after 5 minutes, he sent another text. 'You were right about the flirting. Please don't be mad?'

He saw Penguin was typing. And then he wasn't. Killer was beginning to think he wouldn't get an answer, when he finally received a message.

'I could never.'

'But you seriously have to work on your gaydar.'
