Please Feel at Ease Mr. Ling What if ...

I do not own the story Please feel at Ease Mr. Ling. I am only writing for entertainment purposes. This is truly fiction.

Beware of Spoilers for at least episode 7-8.

Although I love this couple together I did not think I could forgive Ling Yue so easily as Anxin did. On these points:

Point Number 5: Leaving with only telling her he would come back and no explanation was very hurtful so I took it out.

Although I love this story and Ling Yue I have thought too much about if I would forgive him or at least so easily. What if Anxin found out about his secret earlier on? How would it change the dynamic?

This is my what if story...

Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling Chapter 5

Anxin went up her walk and Mr. Ling immediately turned. "What do you want?" She asked sharply. "Anxin, I missed you." He said simply. She tried to not let it show how it affects her. Her heart has been pounding since she saw him on her doorstep and she blocked out how she felt the same way although much more complicated. " Liar." She spat back trying to go around him. He immediately moved to follow her "Nothing has been truer for me" He stated simply. "Good Night Mr. Ling." Anxin stated dully. "Wait. Here." She hands him some money from her bag. "I will mark it in the notebook. Take care Mr. Ling." He tries to give it back saying " You don't need to pay me back, I can void the contact.." but she won't take it shaking her head. The trade offering from Youyou is in her head but she knows in person she won't be able to pull it off. Anxin's feelings were still too muddled and knowing him he would press the advantage. She would have to do it in writing and only if necessary, so she still presses the money into his hand. It prickles at her she hates giving up money especially when he doesn't need it but a deal is a deal. Unless a new deal needs to be made. He sighs "So Stubborn. But I can be too. I came to make you dinner." "No but I owe you.." Anxin stutters out as he stops her from retracting her hand and holds it in his keeping a grip on it easily with his long fingers.

"Mr. Ling..." He frowns at her looking down at her wrist and hand." You can call me Ling Yue." She frowns right back at him as he places the money in his pocket quietly. "I don't want to.." Anxin says softly trying to tug her hand again without success. You make me stubborn she thought. "Anxin." He chides her. "Don't make me make it mandatory in our contract... since you insist on it." He teases smiling at her making Anxin seethe. Jerk. I can't believe I lived with him for so long. She thought. "Fine..Ling Yue, kindly give me my hand and go home.." It feels strange on her tongue, she had been trying to keep herself thinking of him as Mr. Ling but now that she had said it she felt the battle was lost to keep that level of formality. Ling Yue comes closer a smile tugging at his lips." Let's call the food a part of Borrower appreciation day...I insist. What I have looks better than what you have in your bag anyway" "I will hit you with this bag.." Anxin warns him but she is not given time.

The next thing she knows Anxin is being pulled by his hand up the stairs. She fails at pulling away from him and she doesn't fight further not wanting to cause a fall on the stairs. She didn't need to owe this man more money from yet another injury so she has little option but to take it grumbling in her head. After a moment she notices his steps aren't as struggling as before. "You're walking well." She accuses. "It's my Dr. friend" Ling Yue announces cheerfully. Indeed he has improved though he is a bit slower than one might expect for his unfairly long legs and it seems he has to concentrate more as he continues. "Showed me some stretches. It's been very helpful...Still not 100% but I am closer..." Ugh Anxin thought. If I had been a bit faster I would have outrun him. She didn't think she would have wanted to attempt to outwait him recalling how he had stayed hours for her at the movies once until she had showed up.

Anxin feels a twinge of guilt for a moment that he must have struggled before getting to this point but she brushed it away. She hadn't hit Ling Yue on purpose for her part in it and she had helped him the best she could. She had taken him in under false pretenses to not only hide him but to use her as well. Anxin shouldn't feel sorry for this man who had lied to her. Ling Yue was fine and had money and obviously didn't need a nanny. She worries now if she will be able to shake him. Anxin flashes back to him as Eightie insistently taking care of the smallest cut on her hand once and refusing to hide from her coworkers when they came. Ling Yue was impossible when he wanted to be. She recalled further how adamant he was about her moving the couch and getting the expensive bug spray. Anxin didn't think now that he had a hold of her that he would be leaving soon.

Once they were at the top of the stairs and by her door she gave a big effort to free herself. Though he was a jerk who had lied to her it didn't seem wise to hit him with her bag unless absolutely necessary. Ling Yue was a head of a company (even if not the successor for his father yet) and her creditor after all. "Stop! I don't know what ridiculous idea you have in your head but.." She huffs but he holds firm. "I want to cook you dinner." he says breezily as if it was the most natural thing in the world. "Absolutely not.." She tries in vain to shove him away but it isn't working. Ling Yue swiftly grabs her key from the top of her bag inserts the key and unlocks the door and pulls a protesting Anxin inside. "Hey!' She cries reaching for it but he has put it on the keyring by the door as he shuts the door and leans against it.

"What are you doing just coming into my home? " Anxin demands reaching to shove him away. "My home is with you" Ling Yue states simply not perturbed at all at not being welcome. "I, Get out of here.." She says harshly. "No, I won't." She can feel herself getting red with anger. She stares at him and he stares right back at her showing determination. Ugh why does he have to be so handsome? It wasn't helping matters Axim thought. "Fine but I still don't get it. Don't you have somewhere better to be?" Anxin questions as she puts her stuff away shaking her head. Ling Yue rolls his eyes and heads to the kitchen his bag still hanging on his elbow. " It's cozier here" He smirks knowingly at her. "You're leaving right after dinner." She points at him with a pen she has grabbed to mark down in the notebook for paying him. Ling Yue holds up his hands in surrender. "After dinner." He echoes as he grabs a bowl and some food from the cupboard and his bag. "Borrower appreciation day.." She shakes her head to herself in disgust.

Anxin comes back after changing quickly to find him busy at work so she gets some napkins and silverware to set them out to help this go faster and also to give her something to do. Not that long ago she had been used to having him in her home for the most party but now it felt... odd. Anxin couldn't help feeling like Ling Yue was trying to prove he knew her well and would figure out how to wear her down. She didn't like where those thoughts were going so to distract herself she focuses on something else and she has to admit she is a bit curious. "Since you're here... and in the interest of knowing the situation of my creditor...how are things.." She asks cautiously. Anxin wonders what Ling Yue had been telling everyone, those close to him and those professional contacts he must have. Even in her less connected life she couldn't imagine being gone so long in those circumstances, but he had probably smoothed it over easily. He smile and looks at her. "Lonely. " Ling Yue admits boldly. She snorts and turns but Anxin can't help but turn a bit red. "I meant -how are things at the company." She rushes quickly to say after a moment.. "Oh. That." He grins. "Worried about me?"

Anxin rolls her eyes and says coolly more ready this time with the lighter question on her mind. "Not at all. I just want to know if I need to pay for a security guard for you from your brother again...or if I should be worried for myself?" She questions cautiously. His smile lessens but still is there. "That's what Ai Li is for. Don't worry my brother is still in the dark about you." Ling Yue reminds her his eyes softening a a bit as he tries to reassure her. Anxin's eyes widen at that. Thankfully she doesn't have long to dwell on oh, of course he already has his own bodyguard, because Ling Yue continues. "And my brother isn't happy I am back but he is having to deal with it. There's a lot of catch up to do since I was gone...It's been good keeping busy. Keeps me focused." She nods moving on and not wanting to think about what he is most focused on..

Anxin stays quiet for a moment ignoring him. He deserves it after all, barging into her home like this. She got the information she needed to know. It didn't seem Ling Yue's brother was going to tamper with her scooter or send goons after her. He must take her silence as worry because Ling Yue adds. "My brother would most likely want to charm you not hurt you. He knows your support is valuable and he wouldn't want to jeopardize that." He says quietly. "I think I am being pestered enough by one of the Ling brothers." Anxin replies sharply. She almost misses the hurt look Ling Yue gives her but she ignores it and continues her train of thought.

Anxin is debating whether or not to go draw in her room. The idea of completely ignoring him is appealing but she doesn't quite want him sneaking in more gifts from that bag of his. She compromises and draws with a sketchpad instead so she can keep an eye on Ling Yue. She begins drawing a cartoon sketch of Youyou. Her friend had been begging for a new portrait and Anxin had gotten caught up with other things but no more. It also was a gift of gratitude for the other day. Anxin was glad now for the distraction. She begins working on the hair incorporating her Youyou's signature bubblelike ponytail.

Ling Yue stiffened when she ignored him and she took a moment to congratulate herself. Anxin was glad to have picked something he couldn't help with. He did keep on working though, measuring and getting ingredients together and getting a pot ready with rice and water. She continued shading different sections of the bottom of her hair. "What are you working on?" He asks in an interested voice. Anxin rolls her eyes. She should have known his silence wouldn't last. As Ling Yue or as Eightie he had a way of often doing the opposite of what she wanted. When she doesn't want him to he would go for walks and get into trouble. The one time she asked him to disappear for a few hours he stays and throws a lavish party for her roommates pretending to be her boyfriend. She knew from the beginning he would be trouble.

( I have made some updates and split the chapters since they became so long but know in the next one they finally kiss!)
