Chapt 15:
Esme resurfaces:
Esme meets with a mysterious man.
He says, "did you hear Jason Morgan is alive? You're lucky you didn't kill Elizabeth. Morgan has a thing for her."
She replies, "I don't Elizabeth dead. I want her to suffer. I want her loved ones to suffer, especially my brother Cameron."
"What about Audrey Hardy? Wouldn't killing her make Elizabeth suffer?"
Esme replies, "if mommy dearest hadn't called that doctor friend, her 'Gram' might have perished. Didn't you used to know him?"
Meanwhile, Jason drives to the Quartermaine mansion and enters through the back. He opens the French Doors and finds Drew, Ned, and Michael arguing. They turn and are shocked to see him standing there. Jason asks if Monica is there, and Ned calls out to Monica to meet them in the main room. Everyone embraces Jason. Jason is glad Drew is free of Peter's control. Monica walks into the room and exclaims, "Jason!"
After a long hug, Jason asks her to sit down. He allows them to ask all the anticipated questions and answers them. He starts from when they left the island and thought he was dead to when Nikolas got him back to Port Charles. Jason explains Elizabeth and Esme. "I'm happy with her, Monica," he says. "As soon as everything is resolved with Esme, Elizabeth and I will come forward."
After a few more minutes of catching up, Jason leaves. His next stop is meeting with Sonny. Jason lays his groundwork again, "Sonny, I haven't changed my mind. I want to work for you again, but I draw the line to being your enforcer. I will not kill anyone under your orders or be there for you 24-7."
Sonny says, "Elizabeth is wrong for you. She's trying to change you. You can't change. You can't leave this life. It is not you. She will never make you happy."
Jason replies, "This is my decision. Elizabeth didn't ask me to change. She wanted me to keep her safe, just like I've tried to do for your family. She said the deal breaker would be her kids. I spoke with them, and they want her to be happy and understand there will be changes. Elizabeth didn't ask me for anything else. I can't be valuable to you or anyone if I am in jail or dead."
Sonny says, "I don't like it, and I don't think you and Elizabeth will last. I'll accept your conditions for now, and we can renegotiate when Elizabeth realizes she can't accept what you do."
Jason laughs and replies, "does that me you won't be coming to the wedding?" Jason turns on his heels, and Jason hears Sonny say, 'wh—aa—tt?' as he walks out the door.
While Jason is driving back to the safe house, Spinelli calls. "Stone Cold, I have everything analyzed from the motel. You are not going to like the results."
Jason replies, "not over the phone. Meet me at the safe house."
Spinelli replies, okay."
Jason, Spinelli at the Safe House:
Spinelli arrives a few minutes after Jason. He's carrying two boxes filled with papers and information on the collected evidence.
"What do you have?" Jason asks.
Spinelli replies, "as I said, you will not like what I found. Motels have an overabundance of fingerprints and DNA. I had to process and separate Nikolas, Elizabeth, yours, and my fingerprints and DNA left on the gags, the bed, the fast food wrapper, and other surfaces. After eliminating other prints, I found Esme's fingerprints and DNA from the food wrappers and the ropes from Elizabeth's confinement."
Jason asks, "what did you find? Why would I not like it?"
Spinelli continues, "I compared Esme's DNA to Elizabeth's. They have no alleles in common. She is not Elizabeth's daughter."
Jason lets out a sigh of relief, "that's good news. Maybe Helena conditioned Esme to go after Elizbeth. Perhaps she convinced Esme that Elizbeth is her mother?"
Spinelli replies, "Perhaps, but that's not the news you need to hear. "someone else in the room may be related to Esme. There is a familiar DNA match." Spinelli stammers.
Jason, becoming impatient, asks, "who?"
Spinelli replies, "yours, Stone Cold. Your DNA matches Esme's."
Shocked, Jason says, "how is that possible? How many alleles are in common? Do I have a cousin, a sister, or is she, oh my god, my daughter? Who is the mother?"
Spinelli replies, "I don't know yet. I'll keep digging. Are you going to tell Elizabeth Esme is not her daughter? She may have a daughter out there, somewhere."
Jason says, "I'll find a way to tell Elizabeth. I don't want to keep any secrets. I don't know what to make of me having a daughter."
Spinelli replies, "on that note, I'll take my leave. I'll keep looking into Esme and hope we can find her."
Esme and…
Esme replies, "if mommy dearest hadn't called that doctor friend, her 'Gram' might have perished. Didn't you used to know him?"
The man chuckles and answers, "Oh, Patty Boy, he does have a temper. He is brilliant, but his lovely wife was the one who almost saved Helena if it weren't for her grandson. If her parents knew I was back in town, they wouldn't like it. After I escaped from Steinmeier, Robert Scorpio threatened me, and I'd prefer not to go back."
Esme replies, "Jerry, now that Helena is dead, I need your help. And money. I want to up my game. I want Elizabeth to suffer. Maybe I will go after one of her kids. You are the master manipulator of games."
Jerry says, "I'll think about it. I'll get back to you, and when I say I'll get back to you, it means you are waiting to hear from me. I'll wire$10,000 to your account."
Next up-Jason and Elizabeth:
