Chapter 59

The next morning, Killer had gotten a text from Penguin, about half an hour before they would meet the rest of the gang at the canal. 'Can you pick me up with your motorbike?'

'Sure,' Killer had answered. 'I thought you'd just want to walk, though.' It was about a twenty-minute walk from Penguin's house, after all, and Penguin usually loved walking any short distances. However, it would only be a tiny detour for Killer to go by Penguin's house.

'I could, but I want to show off my badass boyfriend,' Penguin had replied, making Killer chuckle. Still, he couldn't help but feel flattered.

'That's a good reason,' he'd joked. 'I'll pick you up in twenty minutes.' They had also agreed to record some new videos for TikTok that afternoon, so they would be able to go to Killer's house together directly afterwards. Except he had asked Bonney to come too… Oh well, she could get there on her own bicycle or however she decided to go.

Killer pulled off his helmet and rang Penguin's doorbell. When Law opened the door, Killer was a little caught off guard. For a moment he had forgotten that Law – his father's lover, apparently – lived here too. Killer stared at him, long and unamused, still feeling a little betrayed Law hadn't told him about it either.

At seeing his unamused face, Law slowly started to smirk. "So, you finally figured it out, huh?"

"I…" Killer gritted his teeth. "He told me. You should have told me before."

"I did." Law's smirk only became wider.

Killer immediately remembered the thing Law had said about 'doing' his father. He groaned annoyed. "Fine. So, you want me to call you daddy now or something? 'Cause I won't."

"Oh no, I'll leave that to your father." Law laughed when Killer pulled a disgusted face. "Just kidding, just kidding. That's not our thing."

Somehow, Killer couldn't take Law really serious anymore. Before yesterday, he was just Penguin's father, and that was someone to respect. Now he was his father's… boyfriend, lover, whatever, as well, and that was just… weird. He couldn't take anyone who'd want to date his father too seriously. "I don't want to know what your thing is, Law. Is Penguin ready to go?"

Law chuckled. "Yeah, almost."

"Coming!" Penguin's voice came from out of the house.

Law looked at him with a slight smile, and an inquiring look in his eyes. "Killer, are we good?"

Killer raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Yeah, of course."

"You're not mad at me for dating your father?" Law asked.

"No." Killer shrugged. "Don't get me wrong, it's fucking weird, but… as long as you treat him right, I don't see why I would be mad."

"I'm mad." Penguin stuck his head between his father and the door frame. "You don't date your son's boyfriend's father. That's not cool."

"But it is cool to date your father's… lover's son?" Law threw back at him.

"We were first," Penguin argued.

A doubtful humming came out of Law's mouth. "Are you sure?"

Killer and Penguin looked at each other for a moment, and then looked up at Law. "What do you mean?" Penguin asked.

"Just what I said," Law said. "That time I caught you two kissing in your room… that was your first kiss, right?" When Penguin nodded shortly, he continued. "Can you guess what Mr. Eustass and I were doing right before that?"

Killer's eyes widened. "What?!" both teenagers said in unison.

Law shrugged. "So, technically, we were first."

"Wha– But–" Penguin stammered. "Well, at least I'm not afraid to call Killer my boyfriend!"

Law huffed amused. "Congratulations. Are you ready to go?"

Penguin pouted, but grabbed his bag and hockey sticks and went outside. "Please ignore my father," he said to Killer.

Killer chuckled. "Hi, babe." He placed a kiss on Penguin's lips.

"Is it really a good idea to ride on a bike with two people and a bag full of hockey equipment?" Law asked a little worried. "While holding two hockey sticks?"

Killer had hung his skates around his neck while driving, which, he was aware of, was not the safest thing, but there was not enough room beneath his saddle to store them and he didn't want to risk them scratching the coating of his bike either. However, Penguin had a big sports bag in which Killer's skates still fitted as well. But Killer had to admit it was not the most practical on a bike. "We can make it work," he said, nonetheless.

"Look," Penguin said, after he put Killer's skates into his bag. He threw the long strap over his shoulder and moved the bag backwards. "I can wear it on my back. Sticks in on hand, the other around Killer. No problem." He wrapped an arm around his boyfriend to show what he meant, even though they weren't on Killer's bike yet, making Killer smile. "Besides, it's only a short ride."

Law sighed. "Fine, but drive carefully." The comment was made towards Killer, of course.

Killer nodded. "Always." He gave Penguin his spare helmet and put on his own again. "Let's go."

It was a little past the agreed time when they arrived at the canal. Penguin made Killer park his bike in a visible place, so all his friends could see them. While Killer thought it was funny Penguin wanted to show him off, he actually thought it was a good idea to put his bike in a place where he could keep an eye on it. There were going to be a lot of people around, and he didn't want to risk it getting stolen or damaged.

When the two of them had taken off their helmets and walked the short distance to where Penguin's hockey group was already waiting on the canal, they were all looking at them. A blond guy – who hadn't been around last time, but Killer did recognize as one of Wire's friends – whistled impressed. "That's a sweet ride."

Penguin smirked. "He certainly is." He winked at Killer.

Killer snorted, and gave Penguin a soft slap against his ass, which he was almost sure no one saw.

"So… I can say he's your boyfriend now, can't I?" Clione said. "Not that it wasn't obvious before."

Killer sighed. "Yeah, I'm out."

"Good, now get your skates on and get on the ice. We're almost complete." Clione gestured towards a bench that was set up near the canal, one of many, but the only one which was currently unoccupied.

Killer and Penguin sat down and quickly changed their shoes for skates and put on their shinpads. When Killer was tying up his last skate, Penguin elbowed him in the side. "Look," he said, nodding towards one of the paths leading towards the canal.

Killer followed his gaze and noticed Bartolomeo walking in their direction, but still far enough away that the group hadn't spotted him yet. Next to him walked Cavendish, his figure skates in one hand, the fingers of the other intertwined with Bartolomeo's. He said something into Bartolomeo's ear, and the latter quickly turned red and let go of Cavendish' hand.

Killer chuckled, but shook his head, "Yeah, yeah, it was pretty much established my gaydar was broken when I thought my dad was straight. You don't have to show more prove of my failure."

Penguin chuckled too. "Naww, maybe you can train your gaydar and get better at it."

Killer snorted. "Maybe."

When Bartolomeo reached the group, he had already parted ways with Cavendish and pretended there was nothing going on. As soon as all of them had their skates on, they gathered around. "We're all here, aren't we?" Gambia asked.

"Well, Bonney's coming too," Ikkaku answered. "But she said she'd join us later."

Killer was surprised to hear she and Bonney had apparently kept contact. He knew Bonney would join a little later, but he hadn't known she'd told Ikkaku that as well.

"Okay, so for now we've got five against five," Clione said. "I've already decided on the teams."

"Why do you get to decide?" Shachi protested.

"Don't worry, you're in my team," Clione assured him, though Killer didn't know if that really would assure him. "Just hear me out, okay?"

All of them looked at him, waiting for Clione to continue. "Okay, so with me are Shachi, Ikkaku, Uni, and Gambia. With Penguin are Killer, Helmeppo, Coby, and Bart."

Next to Killer, Penguin groaned. "Really, Clione?"

Shachi burst out laughing. "Oh, I get it! Because they're playing for the other team!"

Clione smirked and gave him a fist bump. "We'll have team Rainbow against team Ally. Any complaints?"

"I'm coming for your head, Clione!" Helmeppo was ready to do what he said, but Coby held him back.

Killer looked at the two of them, and sighed. He didn't know if his gaydar was fixable. Sure, he wasn't too surprised about Coby – the guy had pink hair, after all – but he also didn't want to make assumptions like that based on appearance. But he had never even thought that about Helmeppo. Were they together? Killer leaned towards Penguin, while Clione tried to escape both Helmeppo and Bartolomeo. "Did you know about them?"

"Yeah," Penguin said. "But to be honest, none of us would have known they were a thing if Shachi hadn't caught them kissing one time. So don't feel too bad about that one."

"Hmm. So, I guess it's somewhat of a secret?" Killer deduced from both what Penguin said and the reaction Helmeppo had given Clione.

"Apparently Helmeppo's dad is a huge homophobic asshole, and he's afraid his dad will disown him if he finds out," Penguin explained.

"Is he sure?" Killer asked. "I mean, I thought my dad wouldn't accept it either…"

Penguin looked him in the eyes. "Yeah, but not everyone is as clueless as you."

Killer glared at him, but didn't have a comeback. He hated it when Penguin was right. "Well, my Little Penguin, I guess you gotta serve as my gaydar from now on then."

"Don't call me that here," Penguin hissed, shifting his eyes to see if anyone heard that.

Killer smirked. "What? My Little Penguin?" he repeated a little louder than before. When Penguin glared at him, he just repeated himself. "My Little Penguin. My. Little. Penguin." He flicked Penguin's nose affectionately. "I love you."

"Ugh, you guys, get a room!" Shachi said dramatically.

Penguin blushed, making him irresistibly cute, and Killer lifted his chin to give him a short kiss on his lips. "Let's beat the crap out of team Ally."

"Yes," Penguin agreed, and he raised his voice. "Team Rainbow, get your asses over here, we're gonna show 'em who's boss." With some resistance, even Helmeppo and Bartolomeo moved over to their side. Penguin had taken it upon himself to become team captain, and so, decided to do the first face-off, facing his best friend on the other team. They had placed a goal on each side, and while setting up the field, they had gotten a bit of an audience, a few people who had been skating, now stood a little bit away to watch them.

"Maybe someone here want to be referee," Ikkaku proposed. She looked at the people who were watching. "Hey, you, tall, handsome guy!" she beckoned someone over. When Killer noticed who had caught her eye, he glanced amused at Penguin, who returned his look.

Drake looked around him to see if there was anyone else Ikkaku could have been talking to. "Me?"

"Yeah, you," Ikkaku said. "You see another tall and handsome guy?" She smiled slightly flirty at him, and Killer noticed how Penguin was trying his hardest not to laugh.

For a second, Drake's eyes met Killer's, and then he carefully skated towards Ikkaku. Her smile became a little wider. "What's your name?" She asked.

"Drake," he answered.

"Nice to meet you, Drake, I'm Ikkaku. Have you ever played hockey?" Ikkaku started fidgeting with her hair while she asked this.

"Just once or twice…" Drake seemed confused as to why he was getting this attention from her.

"But you know the rules?" When Drake nodded, Ikkaku continued to ask. "Do you want to referee?"

Drake let his eyes go over the group, resting only at Penguin and Killer for a bit. Killer smiled encouragingly at him, not holding a grudge for kissing Penguin anymore. He had warned Drake not to do it again, and that was enough for him. He trusted that was enough for Drake as well.

"Sure, why not?" Drake answered.

"Great!" Ikkaku said, pleased. "Penguin, pass me the puck."

Penguin bit his lip to keep his laughter in, while he passed the puck to Ikkaku. She grabbed the puck from the ice and gave it to Drake.

Meanwhile, Shachi snorted. "Can you be objective, Drake?"

Killer noticed how Clione had narrowed his eyes and looked from the three of them to Ikkaku and Drake. While Drake skated towards the middle of the field, Clione seemed to draw his own conclusion. "For which team do you play, Drake?"

Drake looked confused at him. "I thought I had to–" Then he narrowed his eyes as well, and chuckled. He looked at both teams for a while, and then nodded towards Penguin and Killer. "Theirs, but if you were interested, you could have just asked me out."

Clione started laughing. "Sorry, dude, there's a reason I'm in team Ally."

At the same time Ikkaku shook her head, disappointed. "Of course," she muttered.

"But you're not gonna favor team Rainbow, are you?" Shachi asked again.

Drake snorted when he heard the name. "No, Shachi, I can still be objective." He held up the puck. "You ready?"

Both Penguin and Shachi got into position for the face-off, bending over to get closer to the ice. While Killer looked at his boyfriend's perfect ass, biting back a perverted comment that was dying to get past his lips, he heard Penguin mutter to Drake, "Don't look at my boyfriend too much."

Killer decided it was probably best to pretend he hadn't heard that.

Drake didn't waste another moment and dropped the puck, probably hoping to catch Penguin off guard, and the game begun. It went pretty well for team Rainbow, and at the end of the first round, the score was 3-2 in their favor.

Just when they finished their break, Bonney arrived, and Ikkaku waved enthusiastically at her. "Your hockey stick is over here!" Ikkaku pointed at the bench where most of their stuff lay. There were two spare hockey sticks still waiting to be used, and when Bonney had put on her skates, she picked up one of them.

"We were just gonna start the second round," Clione said, and then he smirked. "Pick a team."

Bonney looked at both teams for a moment, trying to decide who she wanted to join, but when she crossed eyes with Killer, he smirked slightly, and made a short beckoning motion to convince her to join their team.

Bonney shrugged. "This team worked fine for me last time," she said, while she skated towards Killer. "Plus, we have Penguin this time."

Penguin smirked, and gave her a high-five when she passed him.

However, both Clione and Uni snickered. "You sure? You really wanna join team Rainbow?"

Bonney raised her eyebrows and let her eyes wander over Penguin's team again. Then she huffed, amused, and smiled. Slowly, she nodded. "Yeah, I think I do."

"I mean, we're team Ally," Clione tried to convince her. "If you want to show your support, you can just join us."

She looked him in the eyes for a few seconds, smirking. "Depends… are you gonna buy me something to eat after this round if I join your team?"

Clione snorted. "Eh, no."

Bonney cocked her head. "Then I think this is the team where I belong. Don't you, Kill?"

Killer smiled, feeling oddly proud of her. "Yeah, I think so." While the other team seemed to need a moment to process this news, Killer looked at Bonney. "Were you really gonna let yourself be bought out? Do you like Clione?"

She shrugged. "Nah, but I like food. I could've been convinced."

The game was on again, and with Bonney as their extra, team Rainbow clearly had the upper hand. After about ten minutes, however, they got interrupted by loud barking. When Killer looked sideways, he saw a familiar white dog running towards them. As soon as Bepo jumped on the ice, however, he lost his grip, and he slid forward, moving his feet comically in an attempt to stay up right.

"Bepo!" Penguin called out worriedly. He skated towards his dog, and while trying to catch him, fell on his butt. However, he did hold Bepo in his arms, and the dog wagged his tail happily. "What are you doing here, you silly polar bear?"

Killer saw a quick movement near the spare hockey stick that lay near their bench, and the next moment, an extra player entered the field.

"Don't get distracted while playing a game, Penguin!" Law said, as he stole the puck away from Helmeppo. "Shachi, your team seemed to be one short, so I'm playing for your team."

Surprised by his sudden appearance, Killer was not quick enough to intercept the puck, and Law quickly made it to their goal. Bartolomeo also seemed stunned by both man and dog, so when Law took the shot, it went right past him into the goal.

Law smirked victoriously, and with a few, swift movements, he was on the side of team Ally again. "You're welcome."

"Dad!" Penguin exclaimed while he got up, holding Bepo by his collar. "That's not fair! First of all, you can't use Bepo as a distraction, secondly, no one said you could play with us, and most of all: you can't play for their team!"

"Why not? You seemed to have one more player, so it's only fair," Law argued.

Penguin put Bepo in the grass beside the canal. "Stay," he said sternly, before turning towards his father, annoyed. "Because they're the straight team, and you're not!"

"Your father is gay too?!" Gambia exclaimed. "Is everyone fucking gay today?!"

Law laughed. "Not just today, I'm afraid. I'm sorry, I didn't know you made your teams based on sexuality."

Shachi grabbed his arm as if he didn't want Law to go anywhere. "Law can pretend to be straight for an hour," he said to Penguin. "We were a man short."

"Oh, yes, he looks very straight to me," Clione agreed, to which Law snorted. "Ref, does the goal count or not?"

All of them looked at Drake, who just stared at Law, a blush on his face. There seemed be a whole inner monologue going on behind his eyes, before he stammered, "Eh… Y-yeah."

A cheer went up in Clione's team. "That means he can stay! You've got a girlfriend, right?" he said innocently to Law.

Law smirked, and looked from Clione to Killer. "I can call him baby girl."

Killer's eyes widened, and he didn't know where to look. "I'm pretty sure he'll kill you if you do that."

While Law laughed, Clione nodded. "Good enough for me."

"We did really need a tall guy who can score," Shachi agreed.

When Killer looked up again, he was just as surprised as Shachi, to find Wire standing behind him, a hand on each of Shachi's shoulders. "You needed a tall guy who can score?"

Shachi turned around. "And who's straight! You're straight, right?"

Wire shrugged. "As far as I know."

"Sorry, Law, you're out," Shachi said.

Law chuckled, and accepting his defeat, he gave his hockey stick to Wire. "Have fun."

"Wire, you bastard! Who invited you?" Bartolomeo yelled at him.

Wire pointed towards his friend. "Killer."

Killer looked apologetic to Bartolomeo. "Sorry, I'd thought he'd be in our team. Didn't know the straights would gang up against us," he said playfully.

Wire chuckled. "So, you're the gay team and this is the straight team? Didn't know you were gay, Bart."

"I'm not!" Bartolomeo yelled. "They just put me in this–!" At that moment, Cavendish skated past him, and without warning, pressed a kiss on his cheek, before fluently skating away again.

Bartolomeo turned bright red, and dropped with his knees on the ice, his face hidden in his hands. "Idiot Cabbage…" he mumbled.

Several members of the group snickered, but Gambia skated towards Wire. "He's bi, though, so he's still half in our team."

"Oi, don't call our bi-, and pansexual players traitors," Killer said. "No matter if they like the opposite sex as well, we're all queer and we're all still gonna kick your asses."

Only now Wire seemed to notice Bonney in their team as well, but before he could say anything, Penguin had retrieved the puck. "We will. Even with Wire in your team, you still can't win. We're still two goals ahead, even if you count that cheating goal my father made." Penguin shot an annoyed look in the direction of his dad, who had skated towards the sidelines and was watching them next to Drake.

Law shrugged. "Ref said it counted."

They saw Drake just stare at Law, with a slight blush on his face. It was probably from the cold, Killer realized; being the referee, he hadn't moved around as much as they had, after all. "Y-yeah, it was a good goal, and team Ally did miss a player," Drake said, "so, it counts."

Penguin cleared his throat loudly. "Dad, I think you should leave."

Law frowned. "Can't I watch my son play for a bit? Bepo wanted to watch you too."

"That's not the problem…" Penguin muttered. Then he shook his head. "Drake, I think you should drop the puck again, we've had a too long break."

Killer saw Law raise his eyebrows and look at Drake while the latter skated towards where Penguin and Killer were standing. "Oh," he said, sounding like he realized something.

When Drake had reached him, Penguin handed him the puck and looked angrily at Drake. "Stop undressing my dad in your mind," he hissed. "It's gross, he's not interested, and he's got a boyfriend anyway."

Drake snatched the puck away from him. "I don't need to undress him in my mind; I still got that picture of him."

Killer snorted. He had completely forgotten about the Grindr incident. "I technically haven't heard either of them call the other their boyfriend," Killer couldn't help but say quietly. He somehow wanted to test both Law and Drake. "Or that they were exclusive, so… Drake, I'd say go for it. Maybe he likes younger guys."

"Killer!" Penguin exclaimed. "What the fuck?! He doesn't!"

"Guys!" Clione came to a stop next to them. "Can you stop flirting? Have a threesome in your own time." He had obviously no idea what they had been talking about. "We're trying to play a game. Can we continue or not?"

"Sure," Drake said, not amused. "Ready?" He gave all players exactly two seconds to get into position, before he dropped the puck again.

The game continued without much disturbance, but Killer did keep an eye on Drake and Law. Drake seemed a bit distracted by Law's presence, and eventually started a conversation with Law anyway. "So… you're Penguin's dad?"

"I am. …You're Drake," Law answered matter-of-factly. Killer made sure to stay near them, so he could listen in on their conversation as much as possible.

"Uh… Yeah," Drake answered with a blush.

"You're not still on Grindr, are you?" Law asked. "I believe principal Shakky talked to you about that?"

"Yeah, she did…" Drake spoke so quietly, Killer could barely hear him. "And I'm not. I get why it was wrong now. I just… think I can perfectly well give consent. Whether I'm sixteen or eighteen, doesn't matter. If I say yes, that's all that matters. So… You know…"

Killer couldn't believe his ears. Was Drake actually trying to flirt with Law?

"I know I shouldn't pretend to be eighteen, but if someone knew I was sixteen, that would be okay, right?" Drake continued. "I just like more… mature men."

Killer choked. Really, Drake? Just yesterday you had a crush on me and now you suddenly like 'more mature men'?

"Drake, listen to me," Law started with a chuckle. "That's what you think now. But there are 'more mature men' who will take advantage of that and make you do things you're not comfortable with. For your own safety, I advise you to stick to guys of your own age. At least until you're twenty. And I'll be honest with you, adult men who have no bad intentions are usually not interested in teenagers. Just think about it like this: would you want to date a twelve-year-old?"

"No, that's a little kid," Drake answered immediately.

"Well, that's what it's like for adult men and sixteen-year-olds as well." Law shrugged. "No offense, but you're kids to us."

"Oh…" Drake looked away shyly.

It was quiet between them for a while, until Law cleared his throat. "I should get going. You guys have fun." He called for Bepo's attention, and skated away in the length of the canal, his shoes in his hands, while the dog trotted alongside him in the grass.

Killer smiled to himself. Maybe Law wasn't such a bad option for his father to date, after all.

After they finished their hockey game, which team Rainbow won with a two-goal difference, the group split up. Some of them went home, some went to get a bite to eat at the café nearby, and some had decided on some relaxed skating back and forth over the canal. During the morning it had become more crowded on the ice, and Heat had joined them as well. He and Wire had managed to take Shachi with them somewhere on the ice without Killer and Penguin really noticing it until it was too late, and they had lost their friends in the crowd.

Well, that was fine by Killer. He'd see his friends again later, and he didn't mind skating alone with Penguin for a while. He skated a circle around his boyfriend. "We should look for Cavendish. Maybe he can teach me a move or two."

Penguin looked at him disbelievingly. "You want to become a figure skater?"

"Hmmm, not really," Killer answered. "I just want to be able to lift you above my head, and I bet he knows the best way to do that."

Penguin snorted. "Lift me? No way, why would you do that? And why would you lift me? Why not the other way around?"

Killer laughed. "You… lift me? I'd like to see you try."

"You think I couldn't?" Penguin huffed. "I can lift you! You know it's all technique and doesn't necessarily have to do with weight or strength."

"Oh, now we really need to find Cavendish," Killer said, amused. "I really want to see–"

"Oh my God!" they suddenly heard from their right. Two girls of about the age of thirteen or fourteen, one with black hair, the other with purple, and both wearing a black beanie, skated towards them, effectively ending their previous topic of conversation. "You're that guitar guy, aren't you?!" one of them said.

"Yeah, from TikTok!" her friend added.

Killer raised his eyebrows in surprise, and then glanced amused at Penguin, before returning his attention to the two girls again. "Eh… yeah, I guess I am."

One of the girls squealed, and both of them looked up at him excitedly. "You're so cool! You're like, the best guitar player I've ever seen," the girl with the purple hair said.

Killer chuckled, a bit embarrassed. He knew he was far from the best guitar player out there, so it was weird to hear her say that. "Thanks…" he said, nonetheless.

"Can I ask… how old are you?" the girl asked.

"Uh… sixteen," Killer answered, feeling a little awkward. Why did they want to know?

The two girls looked at each other meaningfully. "It's a good age…" the purple-haired girl said quietly to her friend, and the black-haired girl nodded in agreement.

"Can we take a selfie with you?" the latter asked, giggling.

Killer didn't know what to do with himself. They were… fans? He had fans? Actual fans who came up to him and wanted a picture with him? That was… weird. Still, he couldn't say he hated it. "Sure," he answered.

The black-haired girl took out her phone and both of them skated a little closer to him, while Penguin made some room for them. One of the girls lost her balance and almost fell, if it hadn't been for Killer catching her. "Oh, careful," he said.

She breathed in sharply when she seemed to realize Killer was holding her, and looked up at him with a blush on his face. "T-thank you." She composed herself and as soon as Killer felt like she could stand on her own two feet again, he let go of her. "You're such a gentleman."

Oh God, they weren't just fans, were they? Killer snorted. "I just didn't want you to fall on your ass, that's all. Now let's take this picture." He suddenly felt a little awkward being so close to them. Both girls took this opportunity to get as much of a physical connection as possible.

The black-haired girl held her phone in such a way that she could capture all three of them in the picture, but it was quite difficult with Killer being significantly taller than them. They only seemed to use this as an excuse to get even closer, though.

Penguin chuckled. "Why don't I take a picture of you?" he suggested.

"Oh, that'd be great, thanks!" the girl said, and she gave her phone to him. "Cute hat, by the way."

Penguin smiled broadly. "Thanks!" He took the phone from her, and with more grace than anyone else could manage, he skated a few feet backwards, so he could take a better picture. The three of them posed while he took a few pictures. "Killer's first picture with fans…" he mumbled amused.

"Your name's really Killer?" The purple haired girl asked.

"Yeah…" Killer answered. The girls kept standing close to him, even though Penguin must have managed to take a few pictures by now.

"That's such a cool name," the black-haired girl commented.

Penguin lowered the phone as an indication that pictures had been taken, and slowly came towards them again.

"So… Killer…" the black-haired girl started, winding a lock of hair around her finger. "Do you have a girlfriend?"

Her friend slapped her against her arm. "Of course he has a girlfriend! Have you forgotten what he's called? My guitar playing boyfriend. So, duh, of course he has a girlfriend." They looked up expectantly at Killer, nonetheless.

Killer smirked. "I don't have a girlfriend."

Both girls stared at him, and Killer saw hope growing in their eyes. Which was actually quite funny to him. They didn't even notice Penguin was handing them the phone back, until he cleared his throat. "Oh, thanks," the black-haired girl said as she took her phone from his hand.

"So… you don't have a girlfriend who runs the account?" The other girl asked.

"No," Killer answered, trying not to show his amusement. "I actually think we should maybe change the name, by the way," he said, half to the girls, half to Penguin. "Get me a cool stage name or something."

"But why are you pretending someone else is running the account?" the purple-haired girl asked.

"I'm not pretending," Killer answered. He nodded towards Penguin. "He's running the account."

"Oh," the girl said. "So, is he like, your manager, or something?"

Killer chuckled. "Yeah, I guess he kinda is. Manager of my TikTok account, at least." Manager of his heart as well.

Penguin snorted. "You want a stage name? I guess that's not a bad idea now you're getting famous."

"Well, thank you so much for the photos!" the black-haired girl giggled. "If you give me your number, I can send them to you."

"Smooth," her friend mumbled.

Killer tried not to laugh. "Nah, I'm good," he said. "Enjoy your pictures, I'll see you around."

The girl looked slightly disappointed, but her friend smiled at him. "Yeah, see ya. Looking forward to your next song!"

Killer waved shortly at them, and skated away, grabbing Penguin's wrist on his way to make him follow him a few yards away from the girls.

"Manager, I like that," Penguin said teasingly. "But why didn't you just tell them I'm your boyfriend?"

Killer smirked at him. "'Cause then it wouldn't be such a surprise when I did this." He wrapped his arm around Penguin's waist, pulled him close and kissed him passionately. Killer closed his eyes and enjoyed the touch of Penguin's lips, his tongue, and his body pressed against his. It didn't matter how often he kissed Penguin, it still felt as good as the first time – no, better even, now that he wasn't worried about anyone seeing.

"YOU'RE GAY?!" he heard one of the girls exclaim behind them.

Killer kept kissing Penguin for a bit longer. When he finally let go, he smiled. "See? Much more surprise."

Penguin poked him playfully in his ribs. "You like causing drama, don't you?"

Killer snorted. "Nah, I just like to kiss you. If that causes drama, then so be it." When he saw Penguin look up at him with a smile, he couldn't help but kiss him again. "Let's go find Bonney. I think it's time we're going home to record that video."

Penguin nodded, and the two of them skated back towards the bench where they had left their bags. After looking around for a while, they weren't able to find Bonney yet, who had agreed to film this particular video they were planning, since Penguin would be in it as well. However, they did find Wire, Heat, and Shachi, the latter seemed to be teaching the other two some hockey moves.

"There you are!" Heat said when he spotted them. "Did you two sneak off to do the dirty between the reeds or something?"

"Yeah," Killer said without missing a beat. He was going to continue, but Penguin elbowed him hard.

"No, we didn't!" He glared at Killer before returning his attention to the others. "You were the ones who disappeared! But Killer just had to pose for pictures with fans."

"Really?" Heat asked amused.

"Yep, two girls," Penguin answered. "They were totally crushing on him, it was hilarious."

"It was… awkward," Killer corrected him.

Penguin shrugged. "For them, maybe. I thought it was pretty funny."

"Anyway," Killer quickly tried to change the subject, as he still didn't really know how to feel about it, "We wanted to go home. Have you guys seen Bonney?"

All three of them shook their heads, but Wire said. "Not in a while. Last I saw here she was getting something to eat with Ikkaku, but that was a while ago."

Heat smirked. "Maybe they are doing the dirty between the reeds. I can help you look if you want."

"I'll also help!" Shachi nodded as if it was a task he took very serious. "By the way, I told you she was gay!" he said to Penguin.

"She's bi, actually," Killer defended his friend. "And you guys are nasty. She doesn't even like Ikkaku in that way."

"You sure?" Shachi said. "They seemed awfully friendly when I last saw them together."

Killer cocked his eyebrow. "So do you three."

"Oh, yeah, Shachi is our boy-toy, didn't you know?" Wire said jokingly, while draping an arm around Shachi's shoulder.

Heat copied his actions with a smirk. "Yeah, we love playing with him."

Shachi colored red and looked at Killer and Penguin in exaggerated fear. "Help," he mouthed.

But Penguin just laughed at him. "Seems like I don't need to give you that thing I would give you for your birthday after all… If you play it right, you've got two of them already." He stuck out his tongue to his friend.

"Penguin!" Shachi complained.

But Penguin turned to Killer again. "Let's go up and down this part one time," he said, gesturing to both sides of the canal. "If we don't find her, we'll save Shachi, and he can film us."

"Uhhh… I'm not sure I want that," Shachi said. "If the choice is between them, and filming your sex tape, I'm choosing my new boyfriends."

"It's not a sex tape!" Penguin felt the need to correct. "It's for TikTok!"

Killer hugged him, just because he thought Penguin was cute. "Let's do that. Why don't you guys look for her that way," he nodded to his right, "and Peng and I will go this way." He nodded to his left.

They agreed, and both groups went their separate ways. They had been looking, calling, and texting for several minutes without luck, when Penguin nodded towards a side part of the canal, partly hidden by an overhanging willow. "Maybe she's there? That's about the only place we didn't look yet."

Killer shrugged. "That leads to nowhere," he said, but skated that way anyway. When he pushed the bare branches of the tree aside and had the possibility to look around the corner, he stopped in surprise, and Penguin softly bumped into him.

"Well… aren't you glad we're the ones who found you?" Killer said. "Instead of team Pervert."

Bonney and Ikkaku quickly broke their kiss. "This isn't what it looks like," Bonney immediately said.

Killer crossed his arms in front of his chest. "Uhu, so you weren't turning Ikkaku over to our team?"

"She's not," Ikkaku said with a smile. "We were just experimenting."

Bonney shrugged. "She confessed she'd always wanted to try kissing a girl, and… well, I never kissed a girl before either, so…" She looked at Ikkaku. "You're a pretty good kisser, by the way." Then she smirked evilly at Killer. "Better than Killer."

"Oi!" Killer protested.

While at the same time Penguin mumbled, "Impossible."

"Impossible?" Bonney parroted amused. "Maybe you should try kissing Ikkaku too, so you can make a real comparison."

"Oi!" Killer said again, feeling slightly threatened. "Peng's kissing nobody but me."

"You're afraid I'm right," Bonney said teasingly.

"Uhm, I'm only kissing people I feel attracted to," Penguin interrupted them. "And no offense, Ikkaku, but I only like you platonically."

"No offense taken, 'cause same." She skated towards Penguin. "Just… keep this quiet, okay? I don't need any of the other boys knowing about this. Especially not Shachi and Clione."

Penguin shrugged. "I won't mention it, but I won't lie about it either if someone asks me about it directly."

"Eh, good enough." Ikkaku smiled at him.

"Okay, Bonney, you ready to go?" Killer started to get a little cold. "We wanna go home and film."

Bonney nodded slowly. "Are you sure you wanna do this? If you tell the world, you might get bad comments, you know."

"I know." Killer shrugged. Of course he had thought about that, but he had decided that that didn't matter as much to him as he'd thought it would a few months back. "If that happens, it happens."

"You might… also get less views," Bonney continued. "I mean, stupid people might boycott you. Or maybe your videos won't show up on people's feed anymore in certain countries."

Killer had thought about that too. But he had realized one thing: his target audience didn't include homophobes. So if he lost them as audience, he wouldn't shed tears about that.

He nodded slowly. "Their loss. Let's tell the world. I'm done hiding."

It was two days later, when Penguin opened the video they had recorded on his phone to show some TikTok comments to Killer. In the video, Killer played to the newest, and second original song of the Hawkins Pirates. It was a song about being yourself and not giving a fuck about what others say about you. Penguin and Killer had also added a few things in text to the video, placing it around Killer playing on his guitar.

The first thing was a name change: myguitarplayingboyfriend - TheMassacreSoldier. It had been the name of Killer's own choosing, as he thought it sounded pretty metal. After that, he answered a few questions that had been asked about him in previous comments: his real name, his age, and how tall he was. And lastly, a question that had been asked many times; who was his girlfriend? This was, of course, where Penguin stepped into the picture, and Killer gave him a kiss, making sure everybody knew his girlfriend was a boyfriend.

"There have been many comments saying they support us, or even think we're a cute couple," Penguin said. "There have also been many people asking about the song. Of course I told them what song it was, like you instructed me." He gave Killer a peck on his cheek. Killer had also wanted to use this opportunity to give some publicity to his favorite local band. Around these parts they were getting pretty big, for those who were into that kind of music, but they hadn't made a breakthrough yet in the rest of the country. So, maybe Killer could help with that. "But today we got one comment specifically, that I wanted to show you." He gave the phone to Killer so he could read it.

Killer looked at what was shown to him. "For real?" he asked, a little in shock, when he read the comment. And by whom it was written. He read it again, just to be sure he read it right.
