In a small town in Drifts, buildings lied in ruin. A car arrived and out came Tower and Topaz "Abe, this was a tragedy, but it's not why we're here. What, are we fighting the weather now?" "The locals say the cyclone had a face" "People see things when they're under stress. That does not mean that this is the start to some other big world-ending-". A white cloud suddenly fell out of the sky and landed in front of them. Tower and Topaz both raised guns, the mist cleared revealing a white male unicorn wearing a red cape. He looked around disoriented "Who are you?". The debris from one of the buildings suddenly shifted and formed into a giant rock monster. Tower and Topaz both fired on it doing nothing. The unicorn stepped forward "You don't want any part of this" he fired energy blasts from his hands.
From a black screen music could be heard "Good times and bad times. I can count on being with you. I thank you for staying so true. My life will go on a long time, have to catch up when I see you and You are my reason I can make it through". Text then appeared "In memoriam". A picture of Sonic the Hedgehog awkwardly transitions on screen as the music got louder. A picture of Shadow the Hedgehog then appeared. Then a picture of Rouge the Bat and finally a low-quality picture of Blaze the Cat. A promotional image of Hedgehog Industries appeared then doves were edited in around it. Finally, an image of candles. Undina and Gardon then appeared at a desk "Gone but not forgotten" "Thanks to Kenneth Lim and Vuhaan Ramamurthy for their help with that touching video tribute". Undina nodded "This year has been nothing short of " "*Beep* crazy. It's insane" Gardon interrupted. Undina glared disapprovingly "Gardon. No swearing" "It's the last day of school. We're good". Undina turned back to the screen "Over five years ago, half of all dominant life in the universe, including our own school was wiped from existence. But then eight months ago, a band of brave heroes brought us back. They called it the Blip. Those of us who Blipped away came back the same age. But our classmates that didn't Blip had grown five years older". Gardon nodded "Yeah, my little brother is now older than me" "Yeah, it's maths. Even though we had Blipped away halfway through the school year and had already taken midterms, the school made us start the whole year over from the beginning" "Totally unfair. It's not right". Undina took a breath "Tigers, it's been a long, dramatic, somewhat confusing road. As we draw this year to a close, it's time to move on…". She glared at Gardon "To a new phase of our lives" "Pray nothing crazy happens again because are the Chaotix even a thing anymore? Does anyone even have a plan!?".
Tails sat down in front of Ray "I have a plan" they were in one of the empty classrooms, the walls were covered in drawings of Sonic the Hedgehog. Tails anxiously went through his plan "Okay, first, I'm gonna sit next to Barby on the flight" "Mm-hm" "Second, I'm gonna buy a dual-headphone adaptor and watch movies with her the whole time". Ray nodded "Okay" "Three, when we go to Soleanna. Soleanna is famous for making stuff out of glass, right?". Ray shrugged "Sure" "So I'm gonna buy her a black necklace because her favourite flower is the black dahlia because of well…" "The murder?". Tails nodded "The murder. Four, when we go to Leonus, I'm gonna take her to the top of the tower, giver her the necklace". Ray looked impressed "Oh" "Then, five, I'm gonna tell her how I feel. Then, six, hopefully she tells me she feels the same way" "Don't forget step seven". Tails checked his notes but it stopped at step six "Step seven?" "Don't do any of that". Tails looked annoyed "Why" "Because we're gonna be bachelors in Murasia, Tails. Look, I may not know much, but I do know this. Murasians love UF citizens". Tails sceptically narrowed his eyes "Really?" "More than half of them are woman" "Okay, sure. But I really like Barby, man, okay? She's awesome, she's super funny in a kind of dark way. And sometimes I catch her looking at me, I feel like I've stood up and... she's coming. Don't say anything". Barby walked over to them "What up, dorks? Excited about the science trip?" "Hey, uh, yeah. We're talking about the trip" "Yeah, and Tails' plan". Barby looked to Tails "You have a plan?" "I don't… I don't have a plan". Ray crossed his arms "No, he's just gonna collet tiny spoons when we're travelling to other countries" "Like a grandmother?". Tails sighed "I'm not collecting tiny spoons. He's collecting tiny spoons" "Oh, okay, well that was a real roller-coaster. By the way, travel tip, you should probably download a VPN on your phone so the government can't track you while we're abroad". Tails awkwardly nodded "Smart. Will do". The bell ran and Barby left. Ray smirked "Dude, I think that went really great".
After school Tails went to Mr Spelunk's new and improved sandwich shop. He picked up a few things as Spelunk watched "Planning a trip" "Yeah. Murasia" "Oh, can I come". Tails glanced at him "Uh, it's kind of a science trip". Mr Spelunk shook his head "You know what, I'm good". Tails put all his stuff on the counter to pay. Spelunk scanned it all "Anything else?" "Uh. ¿Podría conseguir el adaptador de doble manguera?". Spelunk raised his eyebrows "Qué" "The duel phone adapted" "You need work".
Tails went to a pawn shop with a box of his action figures. The human owner examined them "You sure about this?". Tails reluctantly nodded "Yeah, I wanna buy a girl I know something nice" "Okay. Hope she's worth it".
Tails was now in his Prowl disguise leaping around a fancy restaurant that was being shot up by gang members. His super form activated "Let's keep it moving guys. I've got a lot to do today". He stuck two of them to the wall with his arm cannon. He dodged the bullets, took out three more before landing on a table "You know what. I'm gonna give this place one star". Another gang member fired at him. Tails screamed as the bullets hit him and he fell off the table. He then casually jumped back up "Just kidding. I'm bulletproof". He takes him out as three more enter "Guys, I just wanted dressing on the side". His flickys flew out of his toolbelt and attacked the remaining men.
Later the police arrived and Tails pointed to the different incapacitated gang members "Okay, he's the first in command. That guys a runner. That's the buyer. That's the seller. And that guy's the snitch". The snitch glared at him "Dude" "Oh, sorry. You should probably give him his own cell". The lion policeman nodded "Nice super form by the way. You the next Sonic now?" "Well, no. I'm too busy doing your jobs" "Hey". Tails laughed "I'm kidding. But seriously you guys are on your own for a while. I'm going on vacation".
Outside of a building a sign was put up saying "Homeless Support. Food. Shelter. Hope". Inside Bunnie now wearing a brown jacket and hat was on stage speaking to an audience with Tails in his Prowl disguise standing next to her "When I was Blipped back I was one of the few lucky ones to appear back in their home. Or unlucky since when I appeared in my apartment the family that was living there was very confused. The wife thought I was a mistress. The grandma thought that I was a ghost. It was… It was really a mess". The audience laughed, "Thank you all for coming out to support those who are still struggling from the effects of the Blip. And of course, thanks to our very own hero, the Prowl!". Tails awkwardly waved and stepped up to the microphone. He cleared his throat "Thank you, Miss Rabbit, for having me". He then slowly made a thumbs up "And thank you, you guys, for having me". He stepped back and Bunnie took over "And thank you, Prowl. He'll be right back out to take photos and videos. Thank you". As the audience applauded the two of them went backstage. Tails turned off his disguise and high fived Bunnie "That was amazing" "You were great" "Oh, that was so cool. I was so nervous". Bunnie laughed "I was a little stiff. I wasn't in the pocket" "No, I thought you did great" "I did think you were a little stiff". Tails paused before shrugging "Yeah, I felt that too. I felt that too" "It's fine, it's fine. Did you get your passport?" "Yeah". Bunnie narrowed her eyes "Mini toothpaste?" "Yeah, I did". They heard a noise and Tails quickly reactivated his disguise before realising it was Antione carrying a giant check. He was now wearing a blue outfit and his hair was neater "Hey, sorry I am late". Tails turned off his disguise and smiled "Ant". He didn't notice Bunnie smiling behind him "Hey" "Oh, you look lovely" "Thanks, Sugah. You too".
Tails stepped back and watched both of them talk "Thank you. New jacket?" "Yeah, yes, it is. Did your trim your beard" "Yeah… I have gotten a bit of a different look over the Blip. It is a Blip look". Bunnie giggled "I see. Yeah" "Anyway, the reason I am late is because zis was misplaced at ze office. Can you believe it? Because it is enormous. Not ze amount, the size". He gave it to Bunnie "The amount is nice too. Ze are generous. Amy says she's sorry she couldn't be here" "Oh. Thank you". Antione noticed Tails eyeing him. Bunnie kept giggling "I think I'm gonna go change the Sterno under the vegan lasagne". Antione smiled and nodded, "Prowl, go shake hands". Tails jokingly saluted "Will do". Bunnie went back to the stage and Tails turned to Antione "What just happened?" "Heads up, Abraham Tower is calling you". Tails gulped "Tower's gonna call me? Why?" "Yes" "Why?". Antione shrugged "Why? He probably has hero stuff for you to do. You're a superhero. He calls superheroes" "Yeah, but I mean, if it was that important, he'd probably call someone else, not me". His phone rang, "Apparently not". They both checked the phone "No caller ID. Zat is him" "I don't wanna talk to Abraham Tower". Antione shook his head "Answer it" "Why" "If you do not talk to him, I have to, and I do not want to". This didn't help Tails feel more comfortable "Why not?" "Because I'm scared. Answer the phone". Tails hung up the phone shocking Antione "You sent Abraham Tower to voicemail? You do not send Abraham Tower to voicemail" "Oh, you hear that? The audience is calling me. I gotta go" "You have to talk to him". Tails made his way to the door "I'm gonna call him. I promise you, I'm gonna call him. I will" "You do not ghost Abraham Tower". Tails went through the door "I promise, I'll call him… After my trip". He activated his disguise and went back onto the stage. Antione's phone rang and he answered it "Yes…. No, no, he's not ghosting you".
Tails was now surrounded by reporters, Tails was obviously a little overwhelmed "Okay, one question at a time". He pointed to one woman "Are you the head of the Chaotix now?" "Uh, no, I'm not". He pointed to another one "If the aliens come back, what're you gonna do?" "Does anyone have any neighbourhood questions?" "What is it like to take over from Sonic the Hedgehog. Those are some big shoes too fill". All the reporters' voices started to drown out "I'm uh… I'm gonna go. Thanks so much, everyone, for coming". He took off and flew out of a window in the roof. He made it up to the roof and sat at the edge breathing heavily. He lowered his head trying to compose himself. His phones rings again but he quickly hangs up. He lowers his head and sighs. He looks over and sees a painting on the side of a building showing Sonic the Hedgehog in a heroic pose.
