Started a new story, do not worry, I will be getting back to the others and finishing them up. I just randomly have ideas and want to write them down and share them. I already have 5 chapters for this story but I wanted to know everyone's thoughts before I post the rest.
It was a nice hot sunny day in Caershire, about 80 degrees. A good day to have some fun in the sun. Kagome and her sister Rin decide to go to the beach.
"Maybe we will meet some hot guys," Kagome says checking her 2-piece out in the mirror.
Rin shyly says, "Kagome why can't we just go there for fun, we don't have to necessarily have to meet someone".
"Oh, whatever Rin, you are just shy, you will have to come out of that shell of yours soon".
Rin had a peach and orange vintage style 2-piece bathing suit, with different patterns on her bottoms. She put on a cover up for the time being. Kagome had on a regular bikini purple set.
They get their cooler, towels, beach umbrella and all other accessories together for their day of fun in the sun. They were to meet their friends Sango and Ayame up there.
The friends finally meet up and pick a spot to put their belongings. There were not many people at the beach, so that made Rin feel at ease because she was very shy in showing her petite body. Ayame brought her portable speaker and put on some tunes. Rin sat down on the towel while she watched the three dance to the music and she smiles at them. She does not have that much confidence in herself to get up and dance.
A short distance from them was Inuyasha and some of his friends. Among him were Miroku, Shippo and his cold-hearted brother Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru did not really associate himself with them, he just wanted to have a nice day out at the beach; they asked so he went. Inuyasha was eyeing Kagome, and Miroku had his hand ready to grasp on Sango's plumped ass. Shippo thought they were being thirst buckets.
Inuyasha and Miroku walked over to the girls and asked them could they join them in their dance. Rin thinks to herself, are these the hot guy's Kagome was talking about? I am not missing out on anything then. She takes in that Inuyasha was a demon by his looks, he had long silver hair, golden eyes, claws, and dog ears. She looked to Miroku and thought he is a human unless he was good at hiding it.
Sesshomaru looks over at his brother and Miroku watches as they dance with the girls. Such fools they are but then again look at the women, they are just like them. He sees one sitting off to herself not facing him but looking at them too. She must think the same as she has not joined them.
Sesshomaru looks to Shippo, "I am going for a swim". Shippo nods.
Rin wants to get in the water and as she is thinking this Shippo approaches her and says, "Look at them, they are so desperate. I came here to get in the water and relax a bit, but my friends their focus is mainly on the ladies".
Rin turns to look at Shippo and she notices he was a demon as well. She breathes out, "My friends seem to be the same way but with guys of course. I also wanted to get in the water and take a good swim". She smiles and says, "What do you say we head out there".
He smiles back at her, "Yes let's go!"
Rin goes to removes her cover up and they both head over to the ocean water. As they are approaching the water, Rin sees the most gorgeous being she has ever seen that it brings a shiver to her spine. She sees him coming out of the water, and he is glistening wet. His eyes were closed, and she saw that he was very much in shape, slim but muscular and tall like a tree. He is beautiful, she thinks.
Sesshomaru looks up and sees Rin and Shippo. Rin noticed he had the same eyes and hair as the guy flirting with Kagome. She looks back at Inuyasha and looks back at Sesshomaru. Shippo notices her confusion and says, "They are brothers". He did not go into details about neither one of them.
Sesshomaru turns his attention to the little petite girl and says, "Hmph".
She sees Sesshomaru roll his eyes at them, she looks at his markings going across his wrists, lower abdomen and his face and then spotted the crescent moon on his forehead. He is like royalty or something, she wonders.
Shippo looks to her, "You are kind of googly eyed" he laughed. "Don't waste your time, he is an ass, and he is not into humans".
Rin cheeks turn red, "I did not mean to stare, I am embarrassed".
"He is used to it, he acts like he doesn't like it, but I think he likes the attention. Anyway, lets get in the water".
"Sure!"
Sesshomaru gets back to his spot on the beach and looks over to the water and stares the girl down, watching her swim into the water. She is so small but so evenly portioned for a tiny woman, he thinks to himself. He begins to chastise himself about having a thought like that about a human. Sesshomaru was used to women and demoness staring him down but this woman, she had an innocence about her, and she had a lovely scent.
Rin comes out the water, Sesshomaru squints his eyes and watches her from afar. He likes the way her body looks wet and how her hair is glued to her body. She takes her hair and wrings it out. He watches her interact with Shippo; they are laughing. He told a joke, and he hears her laugh, so sweet and innocent, he thinks and curves his mouth a little.
Rin goes back to her spot, Sesshomaru secretly watches her movements. Sango says smirking, "It looks like you were out there having a good time Rin".
Rin knew she was trying to be funny, "I did not come here to just be in the sun and look at guys" she says knowing Sango was trying to embarrass her in front of the guys. Miroku and Inuyasha got the girls numbers and walked away as they felt the tension between Rin and Sango.
Sesshomaru is listening in on their conversations, "Rin what the hell is wrong with you" Sango says.
"I know what you were trying to say Sango, I can read between the lines. You were trying to embarrass me knowing I get uncomfortable very easily especially around guys. He was actually genuinely nice to me or try to hit on me or anything. He is just like me he came to have a good time".
Ayame says, "Maybe he is gay".
Rin shakes her head and ignores Sango and Ayame.
Kagome walks to Rin to calm her but Rin stops her from saying anything, "I don't need saving Kagome, I can handle it. They will always have ignorance".
Sesshomaru shocked at what he heard, thought this Rin was very intriguing.
Sango and Ayame are ready to set fire to Rin when a tall handsome demon approaches the group.
Sesshomaru could not understand why but he felt the need to protect her from her embarrassment.
"Excuse me".
All the girls turn and look to him.
Ayame starts to roll her hair into her fingers and looks Sesshomaru up and down.
He kneels to Rin and looks into her eyes.
"Hello, my name is Sesshomaru, I saw you earlier with a friend of mine and I thought I would come over and ask you for your number".
Rin in complete shock, Ayame and Sango have their mouth wide open. Kagome in her head is yelling at Rin to respond.
"Okay sure" Rin says in a high pitch voice.
He smirks and that makes Rin even more nervous. He can hear her heart beating rapidly. She turns and grabs her phone shakingly. He takes it from her and says, "Let me" due to her wobbly hands.
He puts his number in her phone and dials his number so she could see that it is truly him. He hands her the phone back and she gives a nervous smile.
"Your name" he asks.
"Rin" she replies.
"I look forward to hearing from you Rin" he says as he turns and looks at her from the corner of his eye.
His voice was soft, deep, and passionate. It almost put Rin in a trance.
All the girls look to Rin, "Wow I was not expecting any of that, you are usually the one that is stand offish. I want to apologize Rin for embarrassing you. I truly did not mean nothing by it, I just hate seeing you not partaking in anything socially" says Sango.
Rin nods, "It's okay, I know deep down you are looking out for me, I just don't want to be pressured. If you guys could respect the fact that I just go with the flow. If something happens then it will, if I am not worried, you guys should not either".
They agreed and thought it would be a good time to wrap things up. Rin was thinking about the number for the rest of the day and could not wait to contact him. I thought Shippo said he was not into humans, and that he is an ass but the way he spoke to me, it was so smooth. He seemed genuinely interested, she thought to herself.
Rin was too nervous to text him or even call. She waited for him to say something first but there was nothing. She paced her apartment and mustered all her confidence and decided to text him.
"Okay here we go" she says.
Rin: Hello Sesshomaru
Sesshomaru: Who is this?
Rin: Oh, I thought you saved my number in your phone earlier, this is Rin.
Sesshomaru looks at his phone and scoffs, I did not think she would contact me, I was just being nice, now I must shut this down.
Sesshomaru: I am sorry Rin, but I thought to be nice and ask for your number because I do not like to see anyone get embarrassed or treated as if they are a child. I am sorry if you were expecting something to come out of this.
Rin with a tear coming down her face could not feel more stupid. She thought maybe since she was approached that he was interested. Guys never approach Rin as she is socially awkward, and her friends are always trying to hook her up and the guys lose interest as Rin is too shy. She never had a real boyfriend and maybe a small ounce of her was hoping someone as handsome as Sesshomaru saw an interest in her.
She began typing:
Rin: Well, that was nice of you, I will say thank you for coming to my rescue. I can see the good side of this. Do not worry about me wanting more out of this as I see your true intentions. Enjoy the rest of your night! 😉
As soon as Rin sent the message and saw that the message read, "Read" she blocked his number and deleted it from her phone.
"What a waste, I mind as well start planning my life always being alone".
The next day, Rin gets a call from Kagome.
"Hey, did you ever talk to that sexy Sesshomaru" Kagome giggled.
Rin lies, "No, he is not my type, I blocked his number. I am not ready to get to know anyone right now. I want to focus on school".
Rin continues to listen to her sister go on and on about a variety of subjects.
Rin goes to school to be a biologist, as she interested in nature. No one understood her reasons on why the subject interested her so much, but that did not matter to Rin, she was her own person. She never questioned why her friends chose their career choice, so they should not question hers. Aset from going to school, Rin worked at a high-class restaurant as a waitress. She got the hookup from Ayame, her family owns the restaurant. Ayame wanted to help her struggling friend out.
Rin is a plain looking girl; she barely wears any makeup and wears her hair in the same style. Ayame tries to get her to open up more since she is representing her and the socialites that come into the restaurant. Rin does not get as many tips as she would like to because of her plain features, Most of the upper-class individuals request for someone else because Rin does not look the part. That takes a toll on her financially because she makes just enough for her bills and food, so it is rare for Rin to splurge.
Rin goes into work as usual; she works the evening shift as she has classes in the morning. She gets notified that a large party was coming in and she was going to be the waitress for that table. She wondered why she was chosen but then found out they were short. The girl that usually does the larger tables called out sick. Rin was nervous as she was used to talking to, 2-3 people a table.
She went into the employee bathroom and began doing breathing exercises, "You got this Rin, it should not be too hard, you may even get a lot of tips" she says to herself.
Her manager calls for her and tells her the large party just arrived. Rin walks over and says, "Good evening, welcome to Masala. Would you all like to start off with some drinks?"
Rin trying to keep her composure does not even notice someone staring at her. She gets to the last person and smiles, and she quickly looks down at her pad, "and how may I help you sir?" She says quietly.
Sesshomaru, she thinks. Sesshomaru removes his eyes from her and says, "A water would be fine".
"I will get that all out to you momentarily" she smiles and walks away.
She reaches the kitchen and holds her chest; she was breathing so hard. "I feel so embarrassed, the way he was looking at me".
Rin did not want to go back out there but she had to. She was accompanied by the server with the drinks and goes to ask everyone what they would like their entrée's to be. She tried her best to not pay attention to Sesshomaru, but she made small glances at him; he did not look back up at her.
Rin was happy the night was finally over, even though she was nervous because of Sesshomaru. She thought she made a great impression and hoped she would receive a decent sized tip.
She took their cards and returned, "I hope you all enjoyed your time at Masala, enjoy the rest of your evening" she says.
She did not see anyone leave a tip for her on the receipt, she thought maybe her nervousness was felt and she did poorly. "As usual, nothing" she says defeated. She walks to the kitchen and the manager comes up behind her.
"Hey Rin, you did a good job this evening, I was stopped by one of the demon men and was told to give you this tip".
She took it and opened the envelope and her eyes widen at the large sum of money. Rin ran to her locker to put the money up. She smiled and thanked Kami, she felt much better about her night. Most of the party were demon men. She thought it could not have been Sesshomaru but could it have been him?
"He does not seem that gracious to do that. It could have been all of them putting their tips together, then giving it my boss to make sure it would not get lost as it was cash" she says trying to reassure herself.
She finishes up her shift, and she made more tips but not in comparison to what Sesshomaru's group gave her. She was happy, she had some money to splurge on, not too much though, she would put some in savings.
Sesshomaru's POV
Sesshomaru had been thinking about the petite girl since yesterday, he thought about how he went over to her and asked for her number. "Why would I do such a foolish thing, especially to a human" he says to himself.
Sesshomaru for some reason was attracted to Rin. He could not shake the feeling that his heart fluttered when he thought of her and her scent; smelled so good. He had never thought a human could smell so intoxicating. He did not understand, but him being who he is, he wanted to explore it.
Deep down Sesshomaru really wanted to talk to Rin, but his pride got in the way and shut down the whole ordeal. He felt terrible and wrote back to her that same night. However, she never responded.
Therefore, when he saw her working, he could not help but stare.
She is a plain looking girl but why does my body react this way. I must apologize for playing with her mind. She made this Sesshomaru feel so bad in her response to my text. I felt like a child, I never play those types of games, that is more of Inuyasha's doing, not mine, he thought to himself.
Sesshomaru waited until everyone walked out and talked to her manager and slipped the envelope to him. He told him it was a tip from the group that she waited on. Some of his guilt released when he saw her come out the kitchen smiling. What a beautiful smile, he thought.
What the hell? I will never stoop so low and care for a human, tuh! He thinks. But then again, what was it he was doing again? just to see that lovely smile of hers.
