The drive to Limbo City took a day's amount of time. Stolas was fortunately still able to meet up with the Blood Prince as he made his way to Silver Sacks Tower. Demon Guards respectively bowed to him, something the Ars Goetia Patriarch hadn't seen in most servants. But then again, he knew of Samael's power, not just physically, but the power to wage armies big enough to possibly even overthrow Lucifer himself. Being a Dark Angel had its benefits after all. Awaiting for him in the lobby of the tower was Samael himself, with a smirk on his face as he walked towards Stolas.
"Prince Stolas." He greeted as he extended his hand. "I was wondering when you'd might show."
Reluctantly accepting his handshake, Stolas "Good to see you, Samael. We have much to discuss."
"Indeed. Come to me office." The Angel lead the Owl to an elevator, which brought them all the way to top floor. Both Princes sat on opposite sides of Samael's table, still covered in a gluttonous banquet. Immediately, the two got down to business. "I understand you're here for an explanation that has to deal with the attempt made on the life of your wife."
"Indeed." Stolas replied angrily. "You know, I've been thinking about actually trying to make things right between my family, and you go off and do something like this...why?"
"It's my job, you're highness." Samael answered. "See, as an Equalizer, I must maintain in this realm by any means necessary. To separate the wheat from the chaff, as they say."
"Stella still has a chance, I still have a chance to make things right with her! I must make things right, otherwise, things will never be the same!"
"You understand that if she succeeds in having you eliminated, things will take a horrible turn from there, right?" Samael asked. "Not only will she become the head of your family, but your death will spill out mass hysteria amongst the Royals. Lucifer. Will Demand. Retribution. I am forced to stop that outcome from happening, for we need you to live, your highness."
"...Be that as it may..." Stolas began. "I will the situation myself. I just need to convince Stella to give me another chance to make things right. With that said, I demand you call off your assassin before I do something about it yourself!"
"You already have."
Stolas was caught off guard when Samael brought out a monitor held up by thrusters. It showed footage of Stolas calling Blitzø so that he and his company could take care Samael's own hitman.
"Don't think I don't know about your own involvements." said the Blood Prince. "Though, I'm not one to judge. We both know imps have many uses."
Now seeing footage of Benny, another question came into Stolas' mind.
"Then, would you care to explain why both of them have a remarking resemblance to each other?"
"Because that's how Genetics seem to work, by human standards." Samael answers, once again shocking the Owl Prince.
It was no surprise to him that being 'partners' as they were, Stolas didn't really know much about Blitzø's personal life. But having a twin brother should've been something he would've figured out by now...right? He already knew that the imp and sister were part of a circus at one point. How could he not know about Blitzø' other sibling? Had the imp done well in hiding this fact, more than anything else, from him...from everyone?
"With what has been stated, I'm afraid there is nothing neither of us can do at this point." Samael stated. "As Moderator, I can only set the course of actions in motion and let cards fall where the may. As do you, Prince Stolas, for your sake and that of your family, you must not intervene any longer, should you risk taking a turn for the worse."
Stolas merely glared as he felt restrictive of his actions for what he should do.
"No need for hostilities, your Highness. It's all for the best. With that said, you're free to take your leave. But just know you're free to take sanctuary in my city, should you even find need of up."
"Much appreciated." Stolas merely said before getting up and leaving the tower as Samael smiles.
"Whatever happens, I'm sure it will be quite the show."
"So, you're saying that Blitzø's brother is still alive and he wants us to go after him?!" Moxxie asked, after he and Millie got the full story from Loona. The rest of the I.M.P, minus their boss, met up in a diner and discussed the whole thing. It cleared up what Blitzø meant when he said "look out for anything that might resemble me", since that could mean Blitzø had a twin. But if this was the same brother he said to have lost, should they really go after him?
"Apparently, Stolas hired us since this guy seems to be going after his wife." Loona explained.
Millie then asked "By 'going after', do you mean-"
"He's trying to kill her, obviously."
"I'm not sure if this job is a good idea." Moxxie said. "If this really is Blitzø's brother, should we try to have them...I don't know, make amends, or something?"
"Moxxie, you said how Blitzø acted when his ex mentioned him." Millie said to her husband. The memory of that made Loona shiver.
"I'll never forget seeing him dislocate Vortex's arms and going all 'sick-house' on Verosika's ass." She said. "Doesn't get any brutal than that."
"Just imagine if the two met, face-to-face. It'll be like gas and a match head."
The husband thought about it for a second, thinking that Millie did have a point. Reuniting the two brothers would not be such a good idea, given the state their boss is currently in.
"Okay, you got a point." He said. "But where are we even supposed to start looking?"
Loona replied "If he's in the city right now, that narrows down the search from anywhere beyond here. And Blitzø told me he was gonna stay at the office so we don't confuse ourselves with him."
"Shouldn't he actually be helping us with this?"
"Moxxie, did you forget what we just discuss?" Millie asked, deadpanned. "We can't have the two meet, otherwise-"
"It'll be like an explosion. I get it." Moxxie replied.
"I hate to say, but we're gonna have to handle this ourselves." Loona said. "Lucky for us, I actually ran into Blitzø's twin some time ago.
Millie asked "So that means you have his scent?"
"It's faint, but it's a start." And with that, they exited the diner and began their search for Blitzø's lesser half.
Speaking of whom, Benny was on the phone with the floor manager of his Cabaret back in Limbo City.
"We managed to get the girl from Club Pluto, but these assholes are saying that you owe them for the trade off."
"There should be a fresh pack ready for them." Benny replied. "Ten rookies for one top-of-the-line hostess."
"Got it, boss. I'll keep business going from here and keep you updated."
"Thanks." And then Benny hung up, continuing on with his mission as he decided to look for any locations as to where Stella could be...There wasn't that many places to look, when he thought about it. But in all accounts, they were still considerably unreachable do to some complications. He's faced many goons, guards and rivals in his day, but ever since Samael gave him a few...amputations and left him in debt, he's rusty. And there was only so much he can do with a knife carved from human bones. He was about to press onward, he was met some rather...unexpected company. He recognized them as Royal Guards from Lucifer's Kingdom. He was unsure why they were here as they surrounded him.
"Are you Blitzø of the Immediate Murder Professionals Company?"
Though he didn't show it, he was surprised to have heard his brother's voice. And if Royal Guards were looking for him, he could only wonder what he missed out on his brother's life...and what he did to get this kind of attention.
"I think you have me confused with someone else." Benny said, trying to play it cool. "My name is Benny Rorschach, I run a Cabaret in Limbo City."
Unfortunately, the guards weren't buying. Since officially, Benny Rorschach was erased about a decade ago, the only other imp who bared a resemblance to him was Blitzø.
"Do not lie to us." The guard simply said to the Imp. "You are to brought in for sentencing for the foolish crimes you've committed."
Benny was now beginning to loose his cool, since these guards weren't believing a word he was saying. Scowling, he replied "I'm telling you, you got the wrong guy. I'm here on behalf of the Blood Prince Samael. I have something that needs to be done, now if you'll excuse me."
The moment Benny pushed the guards out of the way and tried to walk away, that's when things went bad as the guards didn't take kindly to physical contact. They immediately attempted to hit Benny from behind, only for him to dodge their attack by back flipping over their, much to their surprise. Landing on his feet, he faced the guards and took a stance as he brought out his bloody crowbar and began swinging. None of the soldiers weren't ready for cold hard steel slamming into their heads and knocking them onto the floor. That wasn't the worse of it as the crowbar punctured their armor like a needle through a balloon, ripping through their flesh before Rorschach kicked them off. They tried to fight back, but Benny swiftly dodged and countered their moves, only taking one blunt attack to the face before jamming his crowbar into the face of guards skull. When they were all down, Benny quickly moved away from the area, not wanting to attract anymore attention than that. Now he was being accused of thing he didn't know or do, just his luck. What made it worse was that his own brother was responsible?
"Blitzø...what have you done in my absence?"
Back to the I.M.P, their trail was getting stronger and weaker. It was safe to assume that this guy was attempting to mask his scent, but they were still getting close. They talked to a few demons and all they got was talk about some imp fighting back against the higher powers of the city. Wasn't much to work with, but they can take what they can get.
"This is taking forever. We're never gonna find this guy!" Millie whined, while Loona was getting herself frustrated in trying to regain the scent.
"Unless this guy is picking fights wherever he goes, we can't exactly follow a breadcrumb trail." Moxxie added to their hopelessness.
Loona then snapped, saying "Would both of you just shut the f**k up?! I can't concentrate while you two are whining about not getting anywhere!"
"We wouldn't be whining if you would've gotten that damn scent by now!" Millie retorted.
Then Moxxie got in between the two, not wanting to be a fight between his wife and Loona.
"Would both of you knock it off?! Blitzø wants us to kill his brother, not each other! Ugh...Now, Loona, how are we gonna with this scent?"
"I don't f**king know." Loona answered. "At first, it tends to get stronger the more we follow it, but then it's gone. It's not like I'm gonna miraculously bump into him again!"
But then, she bumps into him as Benny takes a few steps back from the collision. Regaining himself, he recognized the hellhound he bumped into before.
"Oh, it's you okay. Sorry. I'm really hoping this doesn't become a habit."
Loona and the other two imps were at a loss of words as the one-eyed imp just passes by them. When he gets a few feet away from them, they snap out of it and go after him.
"Wait! Hold up!" Loona yelled. "We need to talk to ya!"
Hearing their voices made Benny slow down until they caught up with him as he stopped in his tracks. His face was rather expressionless as he saw the I.M.P. Team in front of them.
"Can I help you?" He asked calmly at the three, who were a bit stiff as they wasn't sure they'd make it this far.
"Uh...we didn't catch you name." Moxxie said hesitantly, with the others nervously nodding in agreement.
Benny wasn't sure what their game was, but he decided to indulge them to see where this was going.
"...Rorschach. Benny Rorschach."
They weren't expecting him to have a name such as that. Hell, it almost sounded western-like. But it didn't matter as Millie decided to ask the next question.
"Um...so, Benny? You...wouldn't happen to have a twin brother, would you?"
"...How'd you figure that one out?" Benny asked, taking a few steps forward while they took a few steps back, secretly reading his dagger in case he had to gut these three quickly. Loona found this guy to be more menacing than her father as he taller by an inch, had that scorched-on eyepatch and gave off an aura that just screams. It was hard to believe that Benny was the twin brother of the dumbass that was her adopted father.
"Uh...Well...Y-Y-You just have one of those faces, that...uhh..seem familiar to us." Loona said, as she and the other two were beginning to sweat bullets. Rorschach looked at them suspiciously before asking "And you just go out, asking familiar looking demons random questions?"
The three of them nervously, yet simultaneously nod. Benny held a glare at his face as he casually pulled out the dagger and fiddled with its blade some much.
"Alright...now it's my turn to ask some questions...how do you work for?"
"W-W-What?" Moxxie asked.
"I said...Who do you work for?" Benny repeated himself. "Valentino? Verosika? Virtue?"
"We don't work for any overlord." Millie began to say. "We just-"
Benny interrupted as he pointed the dagger at them "Than answer me truthfully. What do you want with me?"
Running out of options, Loona decides to do what she considers the easiest way out of this situation...and that's pick a fight with the dude as she suddenly kicked the knife out his hand. But as the dagger embedded itself into the floor, Benny didn't falter in dodging the hellhound's next attacks, moving swiftly before soon taking a stance.
"Well, I guess we're doing this." Millie said as she and Moxxie took out their respective weapons. Loona savagely attacked Benny, but was caught off caught off gaurd by how fast he was as he caught her hand, twisting before taking a jab at her neck and then kicking her away. The other two imps were shocked by this as Moxxie checks up on Loona while Millie charges in. Her own knife in hand, she slashes at Benny and barely misses him as backs away before suddenly taking a crowbar out of nowhere and hitting her across the face, sending her spinning in mid air before she lands face first on the ground. Now Moxxie was nervous, since this guy was clearly and expert in hand-to-hand combat, but how good was he at outrunning a bullet? ...Much to his surprise, the moment Moxxie pulled out two guns to fire Benny upon, the great imp rolled backwards before barrel-rolling in midair in order to avoid getting shot at. Then he charges at Moxxie like a ram and slams his head into the imp's chest, sending him far back before hitting the pavement. Getting back on his feet, Benny adjusts his cufflinks as he sees Loona struggling to get back up, holding her throat as she's gasping for air. Taking his knife from the ground, he grabs the hellhound by her mane and slams her against a wall before holding the dagger at her throat.
"Wanna try this again, Cupcake?" Benny said, seeing the frustration in Loona's eyes. "Who sent you to try and kill me?"
Loona once again tried to smack the knife out his hand, but this time, all it earned her was a kick to the face as Benny cartwheeled and threw her to the ground, having her pinned as once more has the knife at her throat. She tries to push it back, but Benny was too strong.
"Last chance. And trust me, you don't wanna know what this thing does to demons."
Having enough and not wanting to see their friend killed, Moxxie confessed "W-W-We were hired by Prince Stolas to assassinate you, after you confessed to going after his wife!"
That was enough for Benny to pause as he faces Moxxie and says "...Is that right? I should've expected this."
"And the reason why we asked you about a twin..." Millie said "We happen to know your brother, Blitzø! We work for him!"
Benny was taken back by that as he releases Loona from his grip and got up. This information was not what he was expecting, especially about his brother. 'Blitzø is...an assassin?' He thought as he once more saw Loona barely recovering and decides to help her stand back on her feet. Picking her up from her shoulders, Benny dusts off her shoulders and saw the uncomfortableness in her eyes. Taking a deep breath, he faces the I.M.P.
"...Let's talk."
