The old guardian told Lupin everything that he need it to know. About Meridan, the elemental powers, the other world and the problems that the magic kingdom is going to face unless the legitimate ruler returns.
Lupin thought about all that information. It was nuts, sounded like a good concept for a magic show for kids. However the thief had his fare shares of ludicrous and kind nuts missions over the years, so while a bit hard to digest was still easy to understand.
''Well this…is serious.'' Said Lupin looking at his water.
''Indeed, this is why the guardians are need it at this time.'' Said Yan Lin
Lupin took a big gulp of his water and then looked at the girls.
''don't worry girls, your secret is safe with me. I won't tell anyone.'' Said him making them sighn in relief.
''Oh thanks mister Lupin…'' Said Hay Lin.
''However!'' Said him holding his finger
''Huh?'' Asked them confused.
''I feel that you all lack good skills. I mean I might not have magic, but I can tell you girls were pretty much trying to fly with a rope tied to one of the wings.'' Said Lupin
''What are you saying?" Asked Cornelia a bit angry
''You girls need training. Not just magical one, this is her territory. But if you want to stop this guy and save this weird kingdom you are going to need stealth and quick thinking. This is where I came in.'' Said Lupin.
The girls blink for a moment, those were some really good points and in terms of being discrete they were not that good since they don't wear mask or something.
''Why do you want to help?" Asked Will
''Because I as a Lupin values family tradition. If my grandfather did this I…'' Said Lupin being all serious and loyal, but they knew this was just a joke.
''What is the real reason?" Asked Cornelia.
''I am bored. This sounds like an adventure of a lifetime.'' Said Lupin.
The girls all comedily fall into the floor. Once they were back at standing up, they looked at Yan Lin, before they could argue the older woman started to speak.
''Girls, listen I know he might seen like an outsider but trust me. The Lupin bloodline saved me and my fellow guardians before. I have a great amount of faith on him.'' Said her
''Oh you are going to make me blush.'' Said Lupin
The girls looked at him and were still not sure, some of them were not even considering teaming up with him.
''I don't. He is a smirky bastard.'' Said Cornelia.
''He is a thief! Someone who takes advantage of others.'' Said Irma.
''Yes, but if he was really betraying us, I think he would have done it already.'' Said Tareene.
''Hay Lin is right, I mean he could have exposed us. But he didn't. I am right Will? Will?" Asked Hay Lin looking at Will but she didn't responded.
''I don't…I don't if I can fully trust him.'' Thought Will looking at Lupin
''Besides I like a challenge. However, this sinister Phobos guys I am sure I can handle it.'' Said Lupin
''We don't know what kind of power he possess. He might have an army.'' Said Yan lin.
''We have modern technology at our side. He might have magic but trust me we can create something that can resolve our problems.''' Said Lupin
''So what do you say girls?" Asked Yan Lin
The girls looked at each other. All of them thinking really hard and trying to see if they could work with a thief like Lupin. After some hard thinking they had their response.
''Ok Lupin, we are letting you get in this mess. We will work with you, but you have to listen to some rules.'' Said Will
''What is it?" Asked Lupin with a raised eyebrow.
''Number one: You can't steal something without telling us.'' Said Will
''You are the worst mom!'' Said Lupin acting like a little kid.
''Number two: You are not going to make us use our bodies as a distraction.'' Said Irma
''Ok, but I saw your guardians' forms. I don't need to ask for it.'' Said him making the girls blush.
''Ok, but you are not going to make changes into our wardrobes!'' Said Cornelia.
''I make no promises.'' Said Lupin with a smirk
The girls just decided to let that one pass and talk about the next rule
''Number three: If we have a big problem you need to come assist us. We aren't your side project.'' Said Tareene.
''Ok, wow you make me sound like a guy with no soul.'' Said lupin
''And last one: You are not making us steal artefacts or other things from museums. In fact as now part of this we want you to return ´´The Hearth of the Jungle´´.'' Said Will
''Oh this is thing? Here.'' Said Lupin giving back the jewel.
He tossed the jewel towards Will who grabbed, once it was in the girls hand the others just look in odd to see a big and rare jewel with her own eyes.
''Wow.'' Said Hay lin.
''So pretty. It would look so great with some dresses I have.'' Said Cornelia.
''Yeah, I bet your jail jumpsuit would fit good with this.'' Said Irma
''Ok, we need to find a good way to return to the museum.'' Said Tarenne
''What do we do? Put in a box and write ´´Sorry´´?" Asked Will
''I guess we will go with that.'' Said Hay Lin with a smile.
Lupin then started to laugh. The girls didn't know what was his deal at the moment.
''What is so funny?" Asked Cornelia.
''I use super transparent gloves on my hands most of the time. I have right now, so I don't leave digital prints. Unlike a certain red haired girl.'' Said Lupin with a smirk
Will soon looked at Jewel in horror. Her fingerprints were all over the thing, desperately she tossed the Jewel.
''Aaaaah. Take this away.'' Said her tossing to Irma.
''No way.'' Said Irma tossing to Tarenne
''not me!'' Scream Tarenne tossing to Cornelia.
''I am not going to jail!'' Scream Cornelia tossing to Hay Lin.
''No!'' Said Hay Lin nervous
The girls were pretty much playing ´´hot potato´´ with each other. Trying to take the jewel away, but they were just putting more digitals. Meanwhile Lupin and Yan Lin kept talking.
''So this is where the fate of a whole civilizations lies upon? A bunch of teenage girls"? Asked Lupin
''I guess the elders didn't thought this through. I asked the same question when I became one.'' Said Yan Lin
''I have sense this is not all that happen. You are keeping some secrets, aren't you?" Asked Lupin.
''Secrets are important. In an moment of need I shall tell them.'' Said Yan lin
''I will know them. Trust me, I know my way with women.'' Said Lupin with ridiculous flrity face.
''You are just like him. However, can you really dealt with all this? You are going to dance against magic and people stronger than you.'' Said Yan Lin
The thief just smirks at that. He had already an answer in his head.
''Lady, I will be honest. I went through out a lof of crazy adventures. But this one might top them all.'' Said Lupin.
''You have a hunger for adventurer also. Another characteristic of his.'' Said Yan Lin
''I want some day to surpass my grandpa.'' Said Lupin
''Really?'' Asked Yan Lin now interested.
''yes, I am still known as ´´Aresene Lupin´´ grandson. However, I intended to make a heist so big that I can surpass my old man. I know I can do it!'' Said Lupin all determined.
The old woman just smiles at that. She got so many memories of her time when she meet Arsene.
''Just like him. Wanting to prove his worth.'' Thought her.
''By the way, I know you promise to keep a secret, but how many people are you really going to tell in order to help us?" Asked her.
''Three…uh maybe four.'' Said Lupin thinking of Jigen, Goenmon, Fujiko and Zenigata.
The thief then saw that the girls were still on that silly game. So he decided to do this.
''Ok, you girls don't know how to handle this. Give me that.'' Said him taking the jewel.
''What!'' Asked the girls a bit confused.
''I will clean the digitals and drop at the museum. It would look like someone didn't look like at the first place. Trust me, I have doen this before.'' Said Lupin cleaning the jewel.
The girls were surprised by that. Lupin would return the jewel. Kind noble of him.
''You promise to return it?'' Asked Will.
''Yes, don't worry the news will probably say that.'' Said Lupin with a wink
''Alright.'' Said Will a bit worried.
''See you all tomorrow. By the way here is my card.'' Said him
''thanks.'' Said Yan Lin taking the card.
The card was his signature peanut smile one. While Yan Lin laugh at the image the girls kept arguing.
''Man, this guy is nuts.'' Said Cornelia.
''I can't believe he decided to go along. I mean we just got all this stuff in less than a day, now we are working with a thief!' Said Irma.
''I know isn't this awesome!' Said Hay Lin.
Will on the other hand was the one that was having a hard time accepting that. Lupin was the one that gave that talk to her, it made feel of use and she realizes that he is a master of lies. Was he speaking the truth or not. She wanted to know.
''Why are you giving him all this information and letting in on this mission?" Asked Will to Yan lin
''I was just like you my dear regarding this.' Said Yan Lin
''What?" Asked Will
''Arsene Lupin became one of my dearest friends, but at the started I hated him to the core. His style, his smooth talk, the way he lied to people. It was supposed to be someone for me to say away and yet I ended up carrying for his presence.'' Said Yan.
The leader of the group just looked at the window of the restaurant. She thought for a minute if this would be a great help or the worst mistake of her life.
''Is he really going to help us?' Thought her.
Meanwhile
Lupin was walking towards his hideout on Heathfield, for the looks he was going to make the place last a bit longer. He was going to need some stuff to make the place a bit more lively, so he need it to start thinking of ways to get money.
While that was his head, he was also thinking of what he had got himself too.
''So fight an evil ruler from a magical kingdom. Well, I guess this doesn't happen every day.'' Said him
The thief stop in his track and looked at the sky, the moon was still there and he just sailed?
''Well grandpa, I guess either fate or mere coincidence I guess I will be helping some girls fight evil. I just wonder how long this will last.'' Said him
Lupin decided to get some ideas to help the girls, if they wanted to know how to battle an evil emperor they need it to know all the skills and moves. It was going to be a lot of training a hard work, but he knew that they could pull that off.
Lupin has joined in the case, and he will help the girls in fabulous fashion. Don't worry, more characters will soon appear and help the cast. I am looking at the episodes of WITCH to see which is the best time to introduce who.
