Harry and Hermione returned to the common room after leaving the room with the Mirror of Erised. Unbeknownst to them, Dumbledore was standing around the corner to wait for them to leave so he could take one last look in the mirror before he magicked it away to underneath the trap door and behind all of the enchantments and puzzles that his fellow professors had set up. There was no chance that those eleven-year-olds could get past it. Unfortunately, Dumbledore was oblivious to Professor Quirinius Quirrell who was trying his hardest to get past all the enchantments.

Harry and Hermione made it back to the common room in nearly 10 minutes. They walked relatively slow for people that aren't under invisibility cloaks, but for people that do, they were walking pretty fast. When they got to the common room entrance, Hermione said the password, Parselmouth, and they walked in, whispering to themselves. Draco was sitting on the couch by the fire, looking both pleased, and angry.

"Draco?" Hermione called. "Everything alright?'

"Oh, hello you two. Yes and no. I caught Weasley, Finnigan, and Thomas outside of hours and they lost over 150 points from Gryffindor and they've gotten a week's worth of detention, but I'm in detention with them, and I lost 50 points for Slytherin."

"That's awful on the detention, but now I'm curious, how did you get them in so much trouble? And who took off so many points with Dad gone?" Hermione asked.

"It was Professor McGonagall! And let's see, where do I begin?"

Draco wandered along the corridor, proud of himself for helping Hermione and Harry escape from the library, and at least his detention was with the weakest professor around. It'd at least be lines, or something easy like that. Draco stopped at looked at various portraits as he went down several staircases to the main entrance. He didn't care who caught him, as he already had a detention, as long as it wasn't Professor McGonagall.

He nearly made it to the stair case that led to the dungeons when he noticed a red headed boy and 2 companions sneaking towards the main entrance doors. Draco was confused, but also curious. What on earth could those two be up to? He suddenly had an idea. If he caught up to them, and figured out what they were doing, he could turn them in to Professor McGonagall, and could cause Gryffindor to lose some points.

Draco changed his path and snuck after the 3 boys. He could hear them whispering, and could tell that it was about the Sorcerer's Stone. They were saying that they knew that it was underneath Fluffy, and that Flamel helped to make it. How they had deduced that, Draco never knew. Draco quietly stalked them as they walked towards Hagrid's hut. They knocked on his door.

"Sorry, no fit state to entertain today," Hagrid said hurriedly, before he tried to shut the door.

"We know about the Sorcerer's Stone!" the Gryffindor trio practically shouted.

Hagrid opened the door. "Oh. Come in then."

The small group clambered in, overall being very noisy. Draco crept to one of the windows and looked in. Weasley, Finnegan, and Thomas were sitting in various overlarge chairs. Hagrid had on pink oven mitts and a pink apron, and there was something rattling in the fire place. Draco squinted his eyes to look a bit closer. It looked like a dragon egg. His eyes widened as he realized the consequences that could come from this if Hagrid was found out. Dragon breeding was illegal in Britain.

Draco watched as Hagrid talked to the 3 Gryffindors, and then watched as Hagrid picked up the egg from the fire and brought it over to his wooden table. Wait, Hagrid's whole house was wooden. If this dragon breathed fire, Hagrid's house would be destroyed in seconds. Not to mention how challenging it would be to hide a dragon! Draco shook his head in shock at the stupidity of this oaf. He never hated Hagrid, but he was just so unintelligent sometimes.

Draco was indeed curious to see the baby dragon, however. He was excited to see this dragon hatch, and he knew that this was basically a once in a lifetime opportunity. Draco noticed a crack starting to appear on the top of the egg, but he wasn't the only one. The three Gryffindors got closer to the table to watch it hatch. Within seconds, the egg had basically shattered from the impact of dragon smashing into the sides of its warm, nurturing cocoon.

Draco's mouth fell open at the sight of the dragon, staring at its long tail and shiny, black scales. He focused his ears on the faint conversation that was occurring inside the hut just in time to hear Weasley exclaim that Hagrid had a Norwegian Ridgeback dragon and ask how he had gotten it.

"I won it off of a stranger I met in the pub," Hagrid said excitedly. "Look at 'im, he knows 'is mummy!"

The dragon coughed and sent a small ball of fire in Hagrid's direction, which then caught his beard on fire. Hagrid called out and put out the flame before it could singe too much of his beard. Unfortunately, Hagrid's eyes raised to the window and made eye contact with Draco. Hagrid narrowed his eyes, and this action was not missed by the Gryffindor trio. Draco ran for it. He knew that he had to tell Professor McGonagall about this before they could. Besides, there was no way that she would give him a second one if he had already been assigned one by Quirrel.

He ran down several hallways before he found her at her desk, writing a letter or grading papers, he couldn't tell.

"Professor McGonagall!" Draco called as he ran into the transfiguration classroom.

"Mr. Malfoy, what are you doing out of bed?" McGonagall asked sternly.

"Long story, Professor, but I saw Weasley, Finnegan, and Thomas out of bed at Hagrid's hut, and he's got a dragon! I don't want Hagrid to get kicked off of school grounds but that's really not safe! Professor, the dragon breathes fire, I saw it with my own eyes!"

"Thank you for that, Mr. Malfoy, I'd like you to stay here, but you still haven't explained to me why you yourself are out of bed. I will be back in a moment, I must go find the three students," she said before she swept out of the room.

Draco sat and smirked at the blackboards. He had gotten them into trouble and hopefully saved Hagrid's hut from inevitably becoming a charred mess. Draco waited patiently as he heard McGonagall's disappointed "Good evening" from the hall. Luckily for him, the trio looked nervous as they walked into the room.

"Nothing gives a student the right to walk about the castle at night. All 4 of you will receive detention, and I will look into Mr. Malfoy's story about why you were down in Hagrid's hut. Obviously, if I ask you, you will deny that it ever happened, so there is no point in asking you three," McGonagall said, as she looked disappointedly at her three most troublesome students.

Draco stepped forward, a little confused. "Excuse me, professor, perhaps I heard you wrong. You said, all four of us? I was already given a detention by Professor Quirrell."

"Unfortunately, Mr. Malfoy, you were caught out of bed by two professors, even though your intentions in coming to me were honorable." Weasley gave Draco a slight smirk. "I will also be taking 50 points from both Gryffindor and Slytherin."

Weasley's eyes appeared to bulge out of his head. "50?!" he exclaimed.

"Each. Yes, Mr. Weasley, from my own house. You will receive a note from me at a later time telling you of the time and place of your detention. Now run along to bed, all of you. Don't let me catch you out after hours again, or the punishment will be much worse."

Hermione and Harry listened intently throughout the story. When Draco described the points that Gryffindor had lost, Harry's mouth dropped open, and Hermione gasped. By the end, they felt bad that Draco had lost 50 points and been given 2 different detentions, but overall, they were pleased with the trouble that Draco had caused Gryffindor House.

"I can't wait to see everyone's faces tomorrow morning," Draco whispered to them, before they wen into their separate dormitories.

Draco was smirking like mad the entire day after Gryffindor had lost 150 points and put them in fourth place for the House Cup. It seemed that nearly the entire school had turned on Ron Weasley, Seamus Finnegan, and Dean Thomas. The Gryffindors were angry that they were no longer in the running for the House Cup for the 8th year in a row. A majority of the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws were angry too, since they had been hoping to see Slytherin lose the House Cup for the first time in 7 years. The Slytherins, however, were very please. Some of them were annoyed with Draco for also losing 50 points, but a majority of them were pleased with him for sealing their win of the House Cup.

Unfortunately for Weasley, Finnegan, and Thomas, Slytherins kept going up to the trio and thanking them for the House Cup. This angered a most of the school, but as they were angry with the trio, they didn't want to stand up to the house of Salazar Slytherin. The entire atmosphere of the school had changed as well. Teachers were giving extreme amounts of points to students who answered question correctly. For example, Pavarti Patil got 30 points for answering a question about the uses of a Flitterbloom plant. Without Professor Snape there, Slytherin was quickly losing their lead again.

Potion's lessons had been canceled for the day, so Hermione, Harry, and Draco were sitting in the common room finishing up some of there homework that was due the following week. They had not received a message from Severus since the night before, so they were trying to focus on their work instead of worrying about what was to come. As the hours passed, the students came and went, and when Hermione started to curl up with HHogwarts, A History, Draco got out his Wizard's Chess set, and they started to play.

Suddenly, the door to Severus's quarters opened, and Severus walked out. He looked around, noticed the trio, and quirked his finger at them, beckoning them to come closer. The trio looked at each other in confusion. Severus wasn't supposed to be back yet. Regardless, they abandoned their things and followed him from the room. The common room was practically deserted at this point, so no one else saw Severus. He closed the door behind the small group, and Draco's platinum blond hair shined in the dark.

"So, what have you learned, if anything?" Severus asked.

"Is this you, Professor Snape?" Hermione asked. "The three of us were under the impression that you wouldn't be back for a week or two."

"It is I, Severus Tobias Snape. I am Hermione and Harry's father, and they are twins. Before I left, I gave you a golden locket that you could use to speak with me," He said, as he pulled his locket out from under his crisp, white shirt. "I recently told you to research Dumbledore's and the Dark Lord's past. I was curious to see if you had a chance to research anything for me yet. I also needed to come back and tell you the truth as your mother insisted that you should know that she is alive."
