NOW that the shark had been properly revealed, the Lemaires and the Pendegasts stared at it in disbelief as it slowly turned to face them.
"What in the hell?!" exclaimed Ellie.
"Do you mean to say THAT'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN CHASING?!" roared Lemaire. "WHAT IDIOT WOULD CREATE SOMETHING LIKE THAT?!"
"Me," said Fischler. He then hurried down to the end of the ramp and began shouting at the shark. "OI! GIVE ME MY MECCALODON BACK!" he bellowed.
Scott turned to Virgil. "We need to get into the air!" he said. "It won't be able to hurt us then."
"Agreed," said Virgil. "EVERYONE INTO THE MODULE! WE'RE LEAVING!"
The Pendegasts, the Lemaires, Penelope and Parker all did so joining Gordon around Thunderbird 4 and FAB1, but Fischler continued to shout in the direction of the shark which was moving along the surface straight towards them with its great mouth of razer-teeth glistening in the sunlight.
"FISCHLER?!" Scott shouted. "WE NEED TO LEAVE!"
"NO!" Fischler shouted back. "NOT UNTIL I RECLAIM WHAT'S MINE!"
Scott rolled his eyes. He stormed over to Fischler, grabbed him by the arms and dragged him back up the ramp and into the module with Fischler kicking and screaming in protest as he did so.
Virgil activated his remote-control and guided the main body of Thunderbird 2 back over above the module for the current had carried it a little way from where it had dropped. Once in position, and as soon as Scott had gotten a reluctant Fischler back off the ramp, he fired down the retracting clamps and began to raise the door. As the door closed, Thunderbird 2 lifted the module out of the water, ready to fully hoist it back in as soon as the door was shut.
However they didn't make it back into Thunderbird 2 for the Mechanical Shark had another deadly secret. A small cannon-like device emerged from within its mouth and it fired a magnetic grapple that attached itself to the door of Module 4 and locked up tight. The Shark went into reverse and began to pull against the door as it tried to pull it back down.
Everyone cried out in alarm as the module was shaken by the jolt.
"What the cribbens?!" exclaimed Parker.
"What's happening?" demanded Lemaire. He and Madeline seem to have forgotten their squabble and like Buddy and Ellie were huddled together in fear.
Virgil tried again and again to close the module door but it was kept open by just a bit and was unable to close fully.
"Virgil, what is it?" asked Scott.
"I don't know!" Virgil replied. "Something's preventing the door from closing!"
Gordon hurried to the door, climbed a bit and then poked his head through the gap so he could peer around. "Holy-!" he exclaimed. "We've been hooked!"
"What?!" came the response from pretty much everyone.
"The shark's fired a cable at the module!" Gordon said. "It's attached itself to the door!"
Scott grabbed Fischler by the uniform and slammed him against the side of the module. "How do we stop it?" he demanded.
"Hey, you've no right to-" Fischler protested.
"TALK!" Scott bellowed in his face.
"Okay! OKAY!" Fischler said, waving his hands. "In all honesty, I don't know."
"WHY THE HELL DON'T YOU KNOW?!" thundered Lemaire. "I THOUGHT YOU SAID THAT THING IS YOUR CREATION?!"
"IT IS!" shouted Fischler. He then cleared his throat and lowered his voice. "But some cretin stole it from me last week and has made modifications. I never gave it missiles or indeed a grapple launcher."
"Who stole it from you?" asked Penelope.
"I don't know," replied Fischler. "Some weird tech guy. Had a strange suit and a weird mask over his face. His mask distorted his voice. Said he was going to put it to 'better use', whatever the hell that means!"
Scott, Gordon, Virgil and Penelope all exchanged worried looks. Fischler's description may have been a bit vague to most people, to them they had a pretty good idea who was behind it.
"You know what this means, don't you?" Scott said to Virgil.
"Woah!" said Gordon suddenly as a strange flying bug came buzzing in from outside.
"What the hell is that thing?" exclaimed Madeline.
"Crikey!" said Buddy. "First robot shark, not a robot hornet!"
"No…Insect-Mecca," said Virgil. "Which means the person behind this is-"
Before he could finish his sentence, the mecca produced a hologram of a figure who to Virgil, Gordon, Penelope and Parker resembled The Mechanic. However they could tell immediately that it was not due to there not being a mohawk on top of his head. Nor did he have the same body-build as The Mechanic.
"YOU!" roared Fischler as he recognised the figure.
"Techno!" growled Scott.
"Greetings, International Rescue," said Techno, his voice distorted by the modulator. "It was only a matter of time before you would fall into my grasp."
"What do you want, Techno?" asked Scott, showing the villain that he was not intimidated. "Your Cabal has been halved. The Hood and Havoc are back in prison where they belong and-"
"Will soon be free again," said Techno. "I just needed to make sure their breakout has no interference from you."
"You mean this is a distraction?" asked Virgil.
"Of course," replied Techno. "I knew that my Techno-Shark would attract the attention of curious imbeciles."
The Pendegasts and the Lemaires scowled angrily at this remark.
"And that when they got into trouble, International Rescue would have to come to their rescue," Techno went on. "You people are as predictable as dawn and dusk."
"IT'S NOT YOURS, DAMN IT!" thundered Fischler. THAT IS MY FISH-HARVESTER, YOU THIEF! YOU'VE TURNED IT INTO A WEAPON!"
Techno laughed. "A shark is a predator. It hunts and kills. And that's what I've upgraded it to do. You have no counter-measures to break free. Nor will you be able to stop me from completing The Cabal once more. We are always two steps ahead. You will never bring us down. And your pathetic lives end here and now!" And with that, the hologram disappeared and the Insect-Mecca's sting in the nose began shooting bolts of electricity down at everyone. Normally they would have scattered, but now they had to try and find cover in a module that had limited space due to Thunderbird 4 and FAB1 being jammed inside.
Madeline and Ellie both screamed and Fischler, Buddy and Francois all yelped in alarm. Gordon and Parker both did what they could to protect Penelope leaving Virgil and Scott with nowhere else to go.
"WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING!" Scott yelled to Virgil after diving underneath the front of Thunderbird 4.
"YOU THINK?!" Virgil yelled back. "GOT ANY IDEAS?!"
Scott tried hard to think. The Mecca sent an electric bolt over to the crate where Gordon and Penelope were hiding behind. Its sensors seemed to have locked onto them. Scott knew they had to do something. Then he remembered something he'd seen The Hood do whilst disguised as a GDF Officer. He remembered that he'd used a shield combined with a grapple device that he'd used to snare an Insect-Mecca and then pull it down to the ground where it was then disabled. "GORDON?!" he shouted. "THROW ME YOUR GRAPPLE-GUN!"
"Err…KIND OF PINNED DOWN HERE, SCOTT!" Gordon shouted back.
"YOU DON'T HAVE TO STAND UP!" Penelope butted in. "JUST SLIDE IT TO SCOTT!"
So Gordon took the grapple-gun off his utility sash and after making sure he wasn't in line of sight of the Insect-Mecca, slid it across the floor and underneath the front of Thunderbird 4 where Scott was hiding.
"GOT IT!" said Scott. "VIRGIL, WHEN I GIVE THE WORD, FRY IT WITH YOUR LASER!" He then rolled out from under Thunderbird 4, took aim and fired the grapple gun which latched itself onto the Mecca. It struggled and tried to break free but Scott used all the strength he could muster to try and bring it down. "Errrrr…a little help here! ANYONE?!"
Virgil and Gordon were about to rush in to help, but it turned out to be Buddy and Ellie who came to Scott's aid. Having realised they weren't living up to their explorer's courage, they'd decided to try and redeem themselves if possible. Running out from their hiding place by the side of Thunderbird 4, they grabbed the cable of the grapple and along with Scott began to pull. Together they were able to overwhelm the Mecca's power and bring it lower towards the floor until it was about eye-level. It spun around and got ready to zap them with its electric weapon.
"NOW, VIRGIL!" shouted Scott.
Virgil moved forwards, aimed his shoulder-mounted torch at the Mecca and fired the laser. The laser fried the Insect-Mecca and it exploded before crashing onto the floor.
"Phew!" gasped Scott. "Thanks."
"No worries, mate!" replied Buddy. "You boys have helped us. Only fair that we return the favor!"
John then called in. "Thunderbird 2, come in! What's going on?"
"We have a situation, Thunderbird 5," answered Virgil. "The shark is being controlled by Techno and it is a distraction so that he can break The Hood and Havoc out of prison."
"Darn it!" said John. "I suspected that The Cabal wasn't over with The Hood's capture. What do we do?"
"Warn the GDF, John," said Scott. "We don't know where they took them after they took them away."
"Right away, Scott," said John. "Kayo launched Thunderbird Shadow about twenty minutes ago and she is on her way to assist you. I'll let her know what's happening."
"No, John. Find out where The Hood is and send Kayo there!" said Scott hastily. "If Techno or White Ghost try to break them out, the GDF may need back-up."
"But what about you?" asked John. "From what my scans are showing, you're being held back by the shark?"
"We'll find a way to take it down," said Scott.
"We will?" asked Gordon and Virgil together.
"Okay, but make it quick," said John. "The shark is trying to pull you down and I'm detecting strains on the module door."
"Leave it to us, John," said Scott. "Just make sure Kayo knows to help the GDF."
"F-A-B."
Virgil and Gordon then turned to Scott. "And what is your grand plan for getting us out of this mess?" asked Gordon.
"Simple," replied Scott. "You've got your gecko gloves, Virgil?"
"Sure."
"Then climb out around the door and cut the cable with your laser," said Scott. "Then remotely lift us high enough so that it cannot snag us again."
"At twenty feet above sea level?" Virgil asked.
"Well unless you have a better idea?" said Scott.
Virgil had to admit that he didn't and Gordon knew he didn't have any either. So they agreed. Virgil turned to the gap between the module door and the side of the module itself. He took a deep breath. "Here goes nothing."
The White Ghost entered the control room of the Cabal Cruiser to see Techno busy monitoring the shark. "How is it going?" she asked.
"Couldn't be better," replied Techno. "International Rescue fell right into the trap, and now my Techno-Shark has them completely at its mercy."
The White Ghost looked at a screen showing a video image from a camera mounted on the head of the Techno-Shark showing the cable that was gradually pulling Thunderbird 2 back down towards the surface of the water. She grinned with satisfaction. "Wonderful," she said approvingly. "It's about time International Rescue suffered a humiliating defeat."
"And that they will," said Techno with confidence. "The improvements that I've made to Fischler's Harvester have performed faultlessly."
"Just as you said it would," said The White Ghost.
Techno chuckled. "Of course. International Rescue have never taken me on before so they don't know what to expect. I have the advantage. And I don't make mistakes."
"I see one of your Insects is off-line," The White Ghost observed.
Techno didn't seem bothered. "Plenty more where those came from," he said. "Their fates are sealed so we can afford to lose one or two Meccas."
The White Ghost looked back at the screen. "You're going down, International Rescue!"
"Techno!" fumed Kayo once John had told her what was going on. "It makes sense now."
"According to Scott and Virgil, this whole Techno-Shark thing was just a diversion," said John. "It was to make sure that we're not able to stop him from breaking The Hood out of prison."
Kayo fumed even more. "That is NOT going to happen!"
"I need to warn Colonel Casey and tell her of the situation," said John.
"Allow me," said Kayo. "Casey told me where The Hood and Havoc were taken. I'll go straight there once I've helped rescue Thunderbird 2."
"Scott says he has a plan to deal with Techno's shark," said John. "He said to tell you to go and provide extra security on The Hood and to try and stop Techno if possible."
Kayo grimaced. She wasn't comfortable with being given a new set of instructions whilst knowing her family were trapped by a vicious robotic shark, but she did also have confidence in the problem-solving of Scott, Virgil and Gordon that they would be able to get themselves out of the mess they were in. and besides, she was still quite a way off reaching the Mediterranean and she knew that they'd probably have it sorted by the time she got there. "Fine!" she said. "I'll go to Colonel Casey and warn her."
"F-A-B," said John. "And be careful. You know he's as dangerous by himself as he is with The Cabal."
"I will, John," Kayo promised as John signed off. "Aquatraz, here I come," said Kayo as she reversed Thunderbird Shadow's course and set off for the underwater prison complex.
Penelope and Parker found themselves caught in the middle of a new blazing row that had erupted between Fischler and Lemaire.
"Line up your lawyers, Fischler!" snarled Lemaire. "I'm going to make you pay for the loss of my submarine?"
"Your submarine, what about mine?" retorted Fischler. "Mine wasn't even insured!"
"Well that's smart, h'isn't it?" remarked Parker.
"Parker, don't get involved," hissed Penelope.
"If you were more careful, your stupid creation wouldn't have gotten stolen and we wouldn't have been led on a wild goose chase!" snapped Lemaire. "I'll sue you for every penny you have!"
"DON'T BLAME ME FOR SOMETHING I HAVEN'T DONE!" thundered Fischler.
"Gentlemen! GENTLEMEN!" Penelope stepped in between the two angry men. "I think you've both said quite enough."
"I don't recall asking you to intervene, Lady Penelope?" hissed Lemaire.
"Now that we CAN both agree on," said Fischler. "Don't butt into other people's conversations!"
Penelope chose to keep herself calm. "You guys are both aware that we have video and audio recordings of your actions, right?" she said. "What is seen and heard is quite incriminating if I do say so myself. It shows how reckless you both were in how close you got to one another and how one of you could very easily have sent the other or even both of your ships down to the bottom. You should be thankful that I intend to keep it hidden from the public eye. That is unless you decide to keep on with your row, hmm?"
Upon hearing this, both Lemaire and Fischler decided it would be best to remain silent.
Virgil cautiously made his way out through the gap between the door and the rest of the module and used his gecko-gloves to make his way cautiously along the front of the door towards where the end of the magnetic grapple was attached. Scott and Gordon had clambered up the door and peered over the top as the door had been pulled slightly down from where it had been when first snagged.
"Careful, Virgil!" Gordon warned. "It's a long way down!"
"Ha-ha!" said Virgil sarcastically as he made his way along.
As he got closer, his presence did not go unnoticed by the watchful eyes of Techno and The White Ghost from the safety of their control room.
"What the hell is he doing?" asked The White Ghost.
"I don't know," replied Techno. "But whatever he thinks he's going to try, it won't do him any good." He made the shark move sharply backwards causing the module to swing and jolt. Virgil almost lost his grip on the door as one glove came away from the door front, but he managed to save himself.
"Careful, Virg!" called Scott.
Virgil strained as he got himself sorted and was able to use both sets of gloves to move himself over to the cable. He then reached out and grabbed onto it with his left hand. "Okay. I have it," he said. But suddenly the shark gave another hard pull on the cable. The module lurched again and Virgil's right glove lost its grip. Virgil cried out in alarm as he now found himself sliding uncontrollably down the cable towards the shark's huge open mouth. "Oh, no! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"VIRGIL!" yelled Scott and Gordon together.
Virgil didn't hear them as he cried out in terror as the shark's horrendous spinning teeth got closer and closer. Scott knew he had to act. Then he realised he still had Gordon's grappling gun. He grabbed it and took aim at Virgil.
"Don't miss!" cried Gordon.
"I won't!" Scott answered as he fired the grapple. It shot out and then grabbed onto Virgil's right leg.
The cable tightened and Virgil was brought to a sudden stop, only a few inches from the shark's mouth. He gasped loudly and panted hard as he could feel his heart racing as fast as an Olympic runner. He turned and stared into the terrifying vicious sharp spikes and cogs inside the mouth where the fish it was originally built to harvest would have been sucked into and processed. The thought of ending up there didn't bear thinking about. He looked back to the module and saw Scott leaning over the top of the door with the grapple. "THANKS!" he shouted over the whirring noise of the mechanisms in the shark's mouth.
"DON'T MENTION IT!" Scott shouted back. "CAN YOU PULL YOURSELF BACK?!"
Now that he'd stopped, Virgil was able to grab hold of the cable with both hands. "I THINK I CAN!" he called and began to put one hand in front of the other to start pulling himself back along.
Seeing Virgil slide down the cable towards the shark's mouth had delighted Techno and The White Ghost, so they were both bitterly disappointed when he was saved at the last second.
"Damn it!" cursed The White Ghost. "We almost had him!"
"We still can," said Techno. He pressed a button.
As Virgil pulled himself up, he suddenly felt the cable jerk and began to move back towards the shark's mouth. At the same time, everyone in the module felt it being pulled forwards.
"What's happening?!" cried Madeline.
"Techno's reversed the winch!" Gordon realised. "He's trying to pull us down!"
"And Virgil into the jaws of death!" agreed Scott. "VIRGIL! GRAB THE GRAPPLE CABLE AND LET GO OF THE LINE!"
"GOT IT!" Virgil shouted back. He lifted his right leg and pulled the grapple cable off. He then let go of the shark's cable and swung himself down. His legs splashed through the water before Scott was able to winch him up so he could grab onto the back of the module door and let go.
"ARE YOU OKAY, VIRGIL?!" Gordon called down.
"YEAH!" Virgil called back up. "THANKS, SCOTT!"
Before Scott could reply, Techno's hologram suddenly appeared from a projector mounted in the fin of the shark. "Consider that luck, International Rescue! But your luck ends now! My toys will tear you apart!"
Virgil then realised he was in an ideal position to do what he needed. It was now or never. "YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH TOYS, TECHNO!" he shouted and fired his laser-torch at the cable.
Sensors in the cable sent a warning alarm back to the Cabal Cruiser control.
"What's that?" asked The White Ghost.
"He's trying to cut the cable!" Techno said. "Techno-Shark! Launch counter-measures!"
Two small hatches opened in the sides of the Techno-Shark and a swarm of Insect-Meccas began to fly out with their targeting computers being programmed to eliminate Virgil.
"VIRGIL, LOOK OUT!" shouted Scott when he saw the Meccas coming.
Virgil saw them too and gritted his teeth. The cable was a lot tougher than it looked. "Come on, damn it," he said with gritted teeth. "Break. Break! BREAK!"
SNAP! The cable broke and recoiled away from the module. Scott, Virgil and Gordon watched as it bounced off the water and began to wrap itself around the shark's fin with the end that had been fired from the grapple cannon getting caught between two of its teeth and stopping them from spinning. The motor's strained as the disc the teeth were mounted on continued to try and turn.
In the control room of the Cabal Cruiser, alarms were going off on the shark's control panel. "Warning! Warning! System Malfunction! System Malfunction!"
"What?!" cried Techno. "No! This can't happen!"
Then the tooth that was pushing against the cable snapped out of place. Then the next hit the cable and did the same. And then the next. And then the next. As the disc sped up again, each tooth striking the cable was broken off. Some were thrown out into the sea but some ended up getting sucked inside the shark's workings, which it was not designed to digest.
"No! No! NO!" Techno shouted before a mighty explosion erupted from somewhere inside the Techno-Shark and ripped it apart in a huge fireball. Gordon and Scott had to let go of the module door and slide down it to the bottom whilst Virgil turned his back and had to hope he didn't get hit by the flying debris. The explosion caused the enraged Techno's hologram to disappear and all the Meccas suddenly lost the connection to Techno as well, for the connection was linked to the shark through an antenna in its fin.
After the explosion died away, Virgil turned his head back round to look at what remained. Only a few pieces of the destroyed Techno-Shark were left floating on the surface. The rest of it was gone.
"NO!" Techno shrieked, banging his fists on the computer desk and smashing it in a rage. "HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED?! IT WAS FOOLPROOF!"
The White Ghost swore under her breath before speaking up. "Oh, would you look at that?" she said in a sarcastic way. "International Rescue managed to humiliate us…AGAIN!" She then turned and stormed out of the control room, kicking a chair over as she did.
In order to get back into the module, Virgil had to lower the door down to almost flat before he could scramble around the side. He got assistance from Scott, Gordon, Penelope, Parker and the Pendeghasts.
"Way to go, Virgil!" said Gordon, slapping his brother on the back.
"You saved us all," agreed Penelope.
Virgil blushed. "Thanks, guys," he said. "Although I won't lie, when I slid down that cable towards its mouth and saw how many teeth that thing had, I thought that was the end for me."
"Ha! It'll take more than a giant mechanical fish to get the better of you boys!" said Buddy. "Nobody can perform miracles like you can."
"Hear-hear!" agreed Ellie.
The brothers grinned, but the happy mood was about to be temporarily broken by a rather angry inventor.
"OI! WHERE'S MY HARVESTER?!" shouted Fischler when he finally noticed the shark was nowhere to be seen.
"In Davy-Jones Locker, Mr Fischler," said Gordon.
"Where it belongs," added Scott.
Fischler was enraged. "YOU DESTROYED IT?!"
"Not exactly," replied Virgil. "It kind of destroyed itself."
But that wasn't good enough for Fischler. He let out an enraged bellow and began to lunge at Virgil "I'LL KILL YOU!" he screamed.
Scott, Parker and Gordon moved to protect Virgil, but it was Penelope who got in. POW! She punched Fischler right in the face. He yelped, stumbled and fell backwards onto the floor where he discovered blood trickling from his nose.
"My nose!" Fischler cried. "You've broken my nose!"
"You deserved it," said Penelope simply. "Nobody threatens my friends like that."
Fischler was even more enraged than before. "You complete and utter bit-"
Parker suddenly jumped in front of Fischler which caused him to yelp. "What…your…tongue!" Parker said dangerously. He cracked his knuckles. "Speak h'again and I shall give you a Parker 'aymaker."
Fischler fumed but remained silent after that.
Lemaire sneered. "That's right. Keep your mouth shut so nobody has to listen to it," he said.
"H'And the same applies to you," warned Parker.
Now Lemaire looked furious. He opened his mouth to retaliate but Madeline stopped him. "Don't," she said. "It's not worth the hassle."
The brothers grinned at each other. Finally the two people they disliked most outside of The Cabal had finally been given what they felt they deserved.
"Did Lemaire trip when you went to rescue him, Gordon?" Scott whispered.
"Perhaps," Gordon replied with a knowing wink.
Virgil and Scott grinned. They knew full well what Gordon had done, but for once they were prepared to overlook it.
"Well, boys," said Penelope. "Are we going to remain hovering here or are we going to get our guests back to dry land?"
"F-A-B!" the brothers said together.
The module door closed up and the cables winched it back into the main body of Thunderbird 2. The great green goliath then turned towards France and zoomed off to deliver its passengers back to where they needed to be taken to.
Colonel Casey stood outside the special containment cell in Block D of Aquatraz where The Hood was being kept. "You should have known when you double-crossed us back in England that you would end up back here where you belong, Hood," she was saying. "And believe me when I say you will NEVER see the light of day again. Not as a free man anyway."
The Hood snarled but said nothing.
"But you are going to make yourself useful," Colonel Casey said. "You are going to tell me where my son is and what you've done with him."
The Hood's scowl turned into a smirk. "And why would I tell you that?" he asked. "Havoc was the one who took your son, Colonel. Maybe you should ask her."
"You've been free for over seven months, Hood," said Colonel Casey. "There is no way you can't have not seen him in all that time. If he really is your prisoner and you haven't taken his life."
The Hood's smirk grew. "Maybe we have," he said evilly which made Colonel Casey's blood boil.
"Have you killed him?" she asked.
"Maybe," replied The Hood.
Colonel Casey banged her fist on the glass. "ANSWER THE QUESTION!" she shouted. "HAVE YOU MURDERED MY SON?!"
The Hood's grin grew. "Maybe we have," he said. "Or…maybe he's closer than you think?"
Before Colonel Casey could speak again, a loud sonic shriek filled the cellblock causing the security guards to cry out and cover their ears in agony. Even Colonel Casey fell to the floor. She then turned and was horrified to see Silver Swan flying around inside the old ship that made up the cellblock with The White Ghost almost surfing on her back.
"No!" Colonel Casey cried and pulled out her taser-gun. She took aim and began to shoot up at the two villains but Silver Swan was able to dodge them.
"Hey, Colonel!" laughed Silver Swan. "Your aim is terrible!"
"Want to see a trick?" jeered The White Ghost as Silver Swan dived towards the Colonel.
Silver Swan swooped over the gantry and The White Ghost leapt off her back, phasing into the cell. Colonel Casey could do nothing but watch helplessly as The White Ghost grabbed The Hood and then phased them both through the bottom of the container before Silver Swan swept above them and grabbed them by their backs. Whereas The Hood had had his Vulture armour taken away, Silver Swan's was bonded to her skin making it impossible to remove.
"Here, boss. You're gonna need this," said The White Ghost as she placed something on The Hood's chest.
"What's this?" The Hood asked. But then a nanotech aquasuit appeared from the device, covering his entire body and it included a helmet with breathing apparatus included. "Impressive!" he said.
Silver Swan's own nanotech helmet then covered her face and head to protect her from what was coming next. "Hang on!" she said and they headed for the wall of the cellblock.
"STOP THEM!" shrieked Colonel Casey as she and several guards began shooting their weapons at them.
"Ghost, do your thing," said Silver Swan as The White Ghost threw herself onto her back once more.
The White Ghost placed her hands on Silver Swan's shoulders and began to phase herself, Silver Swan and The Hood through the wall, out into open water for only a short distance before entering the waiting Cabal Cruiser which had managed to sneak past the defences undetected.
Colonel Casey let out an enraged scream and threw her gun at a nearby bulkhead just as the doors opened to let Kayo in. Kayo gasped and ducked just in time before the gun went over her head. "What the?!" she exclaimed. "Colonel, what are you-?" She broke off when she saw the look of complete and utter fury on Colonel Casey's face. Nothing more was needed to be said for Kayo could now guess what had happened. She moved up and looked at The Hood's cell, door still sealed, but empty. "Oh, for fu-"
"You need to tell the others," Colonel Casey said. "Tell them this is far from over!" She turned and stormed off, almost ripping parts of her hair out.
Kayo clenched her fists and tried very hard not to punch anything. "DAMN!"
The Cabal Cruiser slipped away as undetected as it had come. The Hood, Silver Swan and The White Ghost entered the control room where Techno was setting the ship on remote. He turned to greet them. "Welcome back," he said. "I told you that you wouldn't stay imprisoned whilst The Cabal exists."
"Very efficient, Techno," said The Hood. "I am very impressed. You've certainly outdone yourself."
"Thank you," said Techno. "By the way, did you-"
"No, I did not," replied The Hood. "But the day will come. And when it does, you'll be the one to break it." He turned and walked out of the control room with a smug look on his face.
Silver Swan and The White Ghost turned to Techno. "Oh, I think it'll do more than break, wouldn't you say, Tech?"
Techno snickered behind his mask. "Believe me, Swan. It won't break," he said. "It will shatter!"
