Dear Desmond Sycamore,

I was very happy to receive your letter. It made me really happy, that you decided to write me, usually I don't get to talk to someone like you, because my father wants me to marry a medical professional. However, I really liked talking to you at the party that day. I'm really happy that you wrote to me. There are also so many things I want to know about you. Let's make a deal. I'll talk about my personal stuff and my likes and dislikes if you tell me more about yourself as well, okay?

Well, I was born in London. My father is quite strict when it comes to friends and potential love interests. As I already stated, he wants me to marry a medical professional, because it's tradition for the Alister family. To be honest, I don't want to be stuck with one of my father's friends sons, they are quite boring. You, however, are quite the interesting man. I mean it in the most sincere way possible. Besides, you are also quite a handsome man, I could listen to your voice for hours, no matter what you talk about and regardless if I'm able to understand it, as long as I can see that smile on your lips and that determination in your eyes. It makes me quite weak. But to answer the questions you asked me:

I like any type of flower, I haven't found a flower I like better than the others, except Tulips, I'm not very fond of those, I don't know why myself.

My favourite colour is blue or white, since those are such wonderful bright but calming colours, unlike a yellow or red. Blue reminds me of the sky and that no matter what happens, there is always a new day coming. White is the colour of hope, which I think is fitting. We dress in white as nurses, hoping to provide a sense of security to the patients.

To be honest, I didn't have much choice in what I would become. I was, as my father would put it, destined to be in the medical field, as any Alister is. I like helping people, but I didn't have much of a choice.

My biggest wish is to travel the world, and see so many things. I'd rather die young, having experienced many things than die old and not having experienced anything.

I guess it's my turn asking you questions.

Do you enjoy watching the sunset? I do, it's quite calming and beautiful to see the colours.

Do you believe in something like soulmates? I think they exist, I just don't think that everyone is destined to find theirs.

If you could have any pet, no matter how exotic it is, what pet would you get? I'd like to have something cute, like a chinchilla or a hedgehog, but sadly, I'm not really allowed to have pets. Maybe one day.

I'm looking forward to getting your next letter. I enjoy reading your words of appreciation for me. It makes me smile and my heart soar. I'm looking forward to reading more letters from you.

Sincerely,

Scarlett Alister
