Big Issues

AN: Sorry about the wait, life got me last week and most of this week. One of which was setting up a surprise engagement party for my brother last week. This week was dealing with another inventory at work since they have me 'loaned' to another plant for a few weeks. Having to take over for someone else with less than a weeks warning is always fun.

Otherwise, a shoutout to Nowdied for not only enjoying this story enough to fave and follow but also for me in general. I'm hoping to get my other works going again soon... if life permits it. I hope everyone enjoys this chapter and it was worth the wait.

Vytal Tournament - Round One!

"I am so glad that we can shower in our dorms again!" Yang declares loudly as she flops onto Blake's bed as she ruffled her hair within a towel. The bookworm pulled her legs closer in case her boisterous teammate did something outside of her comfort zone… like when the sisters wanted to hear her and Weiss laugh and proceeded to torture them with tickles. She could have used her semblance to escape but at that point she couldn't concentrate.

"At least you're dressed this time." Weiss comments from her bed where she and Ruby were reviewing the fights on their scrolls. The blonde had a bad habit of occasionally forgetting to bring her clothes or wrap a towel around herself. Nowadays, none of them could easily wrap the towels around their plushier frames. Yang needed a larger towel just to reach around her torso as she'd grown the most there, especially around the middle. Ruby had grown all over but still needed the larger cloth to wrap around herself. Weiss and Blake didn't have to worry about their upper halves so much as their lower halves, tying a large towel around their waists wound up having a wide slit up their leg just to maintain their decency.

"Whatever Ice Queen. You're just jealous." Yang crossed her arms under her bust for emphasis, getting the reaction she expected with the pale girl turning red and twisting away to not see the bountiful mammaries on the teen. Unfortunately, she turned to see that her angle allowed her to see down Ruby's black shirt quite well and notice that she was more developed than herself… again.

'Does drinking milk really help?' Weiss thinks as she stares at her teammates' cleavage.

"Weiss?"

"Huh?" Her face burned at being caught staring and zoning out.

"I was asking what you think of this." Ruby tilts her head as she innocently asks the heiress, holding her scroll up so she could see. On the screen, Weiss watched as Coco Adel activated her massive rotary cannon and take out two of opposing team in seconds. Yatsuhashi and Fox took out the remaining pair seconds later, Velvet getting in the final blow.

"Oh, that was quick." Weiss managed to save herself some embarrassment as she commented on the fight. The opposing team was barely able to mount a defense, let alone an attack. There was a lot of talk about how team CFVY were among the top favorites for the tournament, and with a display like that those rumors were well founded.

"I know! They were amazing!" Ruby bounced on the bed, making the mattress and frame squeak under their combined weight. It didn't help Weiss as the bouncing helped to show how much her leader's shirt was straining to cover its owner who had yet to update her pajamas… which meant that they were rather tight and small. Shirt rolling up her belly and letting it bounce freely, pants tight enough from the knees and above to be like a second skin… Weiss had watched the girl struggle to pull them up over her jiggling rump, it was… vexing for the heiress.

"You gonna let me see?" Yang asks as she finishes drying her hair and tosses the towel to land near the door. Her orange tank was little more than a glorified bra at this point on the top-heavy girl, rather helpful as she preferred to sleep without the additional support.

"I'll send it to your scroll, sis." Ruby presses a few keys on her screen and the blondes' device buzzed with a bark.

"Do you really need that to be her ringtone?" Blake scowls, having flinched at the sound of the bark and losing her place on the page. She was glad that Zwei was taken home and wasn't too keen on coming closer to the dog if she could help it.

"Oh, come on Kitty Cat!" Yang laughs as she takes her scroll off her bed. It had been a bit of a surprise for the sisters that the beds had been changed, though they were more comfortable to sleep in now that the chances of them falling were next to nothing… something the two hadn't noticed until their first night back. The blonde fluffed her mane with her hand as she watched the screen, whistling at the speed CFVY took their opponents down.

"They're good, aren't they?" Weiss asks as she watches the 'fight' again. There wasn't much to study to try to gain any kind of edge over them, should they have the luck of fighting them. Even if their own team didn't show their full skills to beat Team BRON, they didn't make it so effortless. Blake had lost her hearing… mostly, but that was temporary and healing fast.

"Did you say something?" The girl in question asks, looking up from her book. She'd found herself looking around a lot more often than usual since her hearing was hindered, her four ears being not as reliable as they used to be at the moment.

"Go back to reading or watch your scroll with the rest of us." Weiss replies louder than she normally would so the cat girl could hear her, the sisters watching the girl closer than normal due to her injury.

Blake's scroll buzzed next to her, the sound of bells reaching the ears of three sets of ears… the owner only feeling the vibrations. She had received a text.

'Are your ears doing better?' It was Sun. The concern was still something she was getting used to from him and her team and friends.

'I'll be better soon.' She replies before glancing at the eardrops that the nurse had given her. She'd have to apply another dose before going to sleep, hoping that there was a lot of improvement overnight. The near loss of her primary sense was making her a bit more withdrawn, hence her position in the corner so she could see everything going on in the room.

'Good to know.' He replies before a new message came from Yang.

'Playing the silent game with us or are you too busy chasing a tail?' Blake's eyes went wide and looked up to see a grinning blonde playing Team SSSN's fight on her scroll for her to see, just in time to watch as Sun took out the other teams' leader with a few quick punches and a flip that allowed him to kick the other boy to the ground face first.

Blake's reaction was understandable, kicking her 'tormentor' off the bed causing the blonde to land on the floor with a thud. Yang lay there laughing, the joke having been worth seeing the quiet girl go red and react that way.

"Yang! Cover yourself!" Weiss yells at the laughing girl who stops to see what she was talking about. Apparently one of her girls had slipped free of their confinement and the other wasn't far behind, whether it was from the fall, her laughing, or a combination of both, she couldn't say.

"Sheesh, I think you've gotten more prudish as you've gone pear shaped." Yang grumbles not so quietly, Ruby snickering in response as Weiss huffed and looked away as the heavier girl fixed herself.

"Hush you brute!" The Heiress snaps back, but it lacked any heat or venom. That didn't stop her from pushing herself further back in her bed before pushing Ruby onto the floor.

"Hey! What was that for?" The younger girl whines from next to her sister who was having a giggling fit at what she'd just witnessed.

"I'm going to sleep. We have a big day ahead of us and I'd prefer to be well rested for it." With that, Weiss pulled her sheets over her wide hips and rolled to face the wall… noting how warm the area was where Ruby was sitting. She heard the other girls shuffle around to get to their beds and the lights went out to drench the room in darkness that was broken only by the moonlight peaking through the curtains. Yet in the darkness, Weiss looked at her hands and remembered how soft Ruby was when she pushed her.

The next day found the teams meeting up near the docks to get a ride up to the stadium. "Are sure you can't fight in the tournament?" Nora was pleading with Talon and Anya as they walked.

"We're doing security. We don't have time to participate." Anya crosses her arms as she answers tiredly.

"Tell ya what, we'll offer to fight the winning team as a bit of additional entertainment for the crowds." Talon offers, carrying a few fruits in a bag for later.

"Besides, we'd likely win the tournament anyway." Denko grins as he turns to face the freshman team, walking backwards.

"Oh, come on! You really think you can beat us?" Nora challenges the taller blonde, not afraid to get in his face and poke him in the chest.

"Don't you remember the last few times you sparred Denko?" Itazura asks her fellow redhead, tail wagging happily and ears twitching.

Nora recalled the few rounds that she had tried to have with the older team. Talon would practically dance around her, all around her… including the air above her. Anya was brutal in her approach, staying within her hammers reach too much for it to be effective as a weapon and a worse shield. Itazura would always find ways to make her run into hazards until she ran out of energy. Denko… would use her hammer against her, ripping it from her hands and wielding it almost as well as she did if he didn't simply redirect her attacks until she got too frustrated to continue.

"They do have a point." Ren says to his best friend, putting a hand on her shoulder as she slumped in a depressed state. He used his grip to push and guide the plump girl along to the meeting spot.

The meeting spot was just a little distance away from the airship docks so they wouldn't be in the way of the existing foot traffic to and from the ships ferrying people to the floating stadium. Teams RWBY and SSSN were already there, the girls making small talk with Sun and Neptune as Sage and Scarlet were apparently content to watch.

"Hey guys!" Ruby was the first to notice the eight approaching, waving excitedly at them.

"Ready for today?" Anya asks once they were close enough, somewhat amused that Sun was apparently testing Blake's hearing by tapping a pencil held by his tail at random times. Apparently, Yang was in on it and doing the same. Ruby was doing her best to hide the pencil in her hand from the sharp eyes of her teammate.

"If the fighting get's these three to stop playing with their pencils, I'm all for it." Blake growls, having heard the other quiet girl over the droning of the crowd.

"I guess you're feeling better then?" Jaune asks, somewhat nervous that she might turn her glare onto him rather than her friends.

"Yes." Blake growls as she manages to steal the pencil from Yang's grip and stab her in the gut with the eraser end, the 'victim' finding the situation as amusing as her stomach was jiggly. A glance at Sun had him stopping as well, dropping the writing tool into the waiting hand of Sage, who pocketed it without a word. Scarlet scoffed though Itazura could have sworn she heard "Whipped." from the boy.

"Shall we leave so we're not late?" Pyrrha suggests, hoping to avoid anything from getting out of hand. The memory of the food fight was prominent in her mind. This also happened to be one of the few times that she was glad Nora was depressed otherwise she could have antagonized the faunus… more than the blondes already had.

"Yeah!" Ruby, Sun, and Yang cheer, pumping their fists in the air. Everyone else were more subdued, though Blake took the opportunity to jab both of her blonde 'tormentors' in the guts with her new 'weapon'.

Team RWBY barely sat in their seats when they were selected to fight. While Weiss and Blake were content to get it out of the way, the sisters were excited. "This is a great way to start the day! Nothing like a fight to get the blood pumping!" Yang was far more vocal of the two as they left for the locker room.

In the locker room, the girls gathered their supplies of Dust and ammunition along with their weapons before doing some stretches. They may have loosened themselves up earlier but it was better safe than sorry, Yang sighing in relief as her spine popped as she bent backwards, Weiss and Blake were nearly into full splits as Ruby twisted herself at her waist. Through it all, they could hear Oobleck and Port making announcements

"For those of you just now joining us, welcome to the Vytal Festival Tournament!" Port certainly didn't need to raise his voice over the broadcast to be heard over the dull roar of the crowd and even into the locker room. "Broadcast live from the Amity Colosseum!" The crowd cheered at their chance to be on television as many could see themselves on the large projections of what the cameras and by extension; what the rest of the world saw who were watching the event.

"If this is your first time watching, allow us to break down the rules." Port had calmed down to a respectable level as he leaned an arm on the desk in front of him.

Oobleck took over then, holding up three fingers. "The tournament is divided into three distinctive rounds. Teams, doubles, and singles." As he listed the rounds, he lowered a finger. "Age and school year are irrelevant. In this tournament, the only thing being tested, is skill." He finishes by adjusting his glasses.

"Correct!" Port interjects as he takes over the explanation. "The winners of this battle will elect two members to represent them in the doubles round. Followed by the winners of that round choosing one to advance once again. The remaining combatants will fight their way through a final bracket in hopes of achieving victory for their kingdom!"

"And yes, Peter, these are certainly some spectacular spectacles on which to spectate on! And I don't think anyone tuning in around the world is going to disagree with me on that!" Oobleck says in his usual rapid speech.

"Ah, why would they?" Port rhetorically asks. "Our first match of the day and to begin the Vytal Tournament is Team RWBY of Beacon versus Team ABRN of Haven!"

At that announcement, green lights lit up in the locker rooms signaling for the teams to enter the arena. They stopped a few paces away and measured each other up.

The boys of the Haven team were bulky, especially the guy with the staff though it was obvious that most of his bulk was muscle mass. The other, darker boy was 'leaner' though his musculature was hidden by his clothes. The girls of the team had suffered the same effects as every other female hit by the chemical attacks on the schools. The darker, blonde girl was certainly bulky, her weight having been added rather evenly on her form, much like Ruby, though she had walked with confidence and exuded strength. The other girl in her purple hoody and black shorts, definitely was more bottom heavy, the black belt holding her odd looking weapon on her back was holding back her belly while her shorts may have been a size too small given that her thighs were bulging as they emerged to the open air.

Holographic displays were projected high over the tiled arena and began cycling through the various terrains that would make the battles far more interesting. Choices of grasslands, ice fields, forest, volcanic wasteland, desert, geyser fields among ruined buildings, a small beach with ocean and a ship, gravity blocks, mountains, urban area, and even a swamp made for a wide variety of biomes to adjust to along with the weather effects that could be generated from a bright sun, to thunderstorms, strong winds, and earthquakes. It was little wonder why this tournament was considered such a test for aspiring Huntsmen and Huntresses to adapt and overcome not just the world around them but the enemies they will have to face with little to no warning. For the audience and participants alike, it guaranteed that few matches could ever be the same, not counting that all fighters are unique in their styles and weapons.

The eight fighters looked around and watched the randomizers with interest, all wondering what they will be facing beyond the other team. Eventually, the four displays on RWBY's side settled on the volcanic wasteland, the floors behind them outside the ring retracting under the stands only to be replaced by a predominantly red and black field rising into its place. Small spires of fire Dust crystals, lumps or red rocks and boulders, steaming crags, and a few holes that blasted jets of flames high into the air. Likewise, the choice was made on the other side and an ice field rose, making for a stark contrast with the other half of the arena. The ice being cold enough to make the moisture in the air condense into a mist over the many rising icicles, the temperature a drastic difference from one side to the other.

"Team… are you ready?" Port asks and the eight fighters drew their weapons. Ruby's scythe extended into its full form, making those who hadn't seen it, the darker boy across from her for example, rather nervous. Weiss' rapier was drawn from her sash as Bolin hefted the staff from his back. Blake removed her sword from the plate on her back as Reese held an odd-looking board with small blades on the ends. Yang's gauntlets expanded to cover her forearms as Nadir readied a simple looking gun in his hands.

There was a pause as the entire stadium fell silent. "BEGIN!" Port shouts and the first match of the Fortieth Vytal Tournament had begun.

Ruby snapped her scythe up in front of her and fired, hitting Nadir in the chest and throwing him backwards, his burst of bullets hitting nothing but the barriers protecting the audience. The recoil from the shot also helped the chubby girl jump backwards for more room to use her massive blade. At the same time, Weiss and Bolin clashed weapons, the taller fighter blocking all of her attacks before jabbing her in the stomach to push her back to land near her teammate. Reese had jumped back immediately and landed on her weapon, showing that it was a hoverboard and gliding away, Blake in hot pursuit across the ice. Yang and Arslan met fists in the middle before a brief exchange of blows to feel the other out was ended by the team leader kicking Yang away enough to break the rapid-fire flying fists.

The first blows of the fight underway, the crowd roared their approval. Few could have competed with the cheers of their friends, Nora easily being the loudest though others like Sun and Talon were just as excited. The others were watching, rooting for their friends to win, even if those from Haven like SSSN slitting their time for both teams.

Blake found herself having to use both blades to deal with the odd weapon used by Reese Chloris. The bladed board proved itself to be an excellent shield when needed while the blades on both ends proved to be dangerous as one exchange of blows sent the board through a thick chunk of ice at one point in their fight. The girl also proved to be light on her feet and knew her weapon well enough to make sure that it was always spinning at odd angles at the cat girl when they were close. More than a few times, Blake had to use her semblance to avoid taking the hit herself. Then Reese broke their bout by jumping back on her board and floating away, leaving a frustrated Faunus to run after her in hopes of keeping the skater girl from double-teaming her teammates.

Weiss was getting frustrated as Bolin proved himself to be extremely tough. Not only was he tough to get a hit on but what few hits managed to get through his guard, he shrugged off as if they barely touched him. A glyph boosted jump helped her close the gap between them fast enough that her barely raised his staff in time to block her downward swing. But doing so occupied his hands and attention so he couldn't block her feet from slamming her full weight into his chest and sending the taller boy tumbling away. Weiss landed on her feet and readied Myrtenaster for their next round, Bolin quickly rising to his feet.

Ruby and Nadir were in a duel of firearm skills, the two constantly moving and keeping their distance as they fired at the other. Nadir's submachine gun spraying bursts at the cloaked girl that kept her from ensuring her aim by using her scope while at the same time, her shots were close enough that he was forced to keep himself a moving target lest he experience another high caliber round. A burst had the girl taking cover behind her large blade before she swept her scythe to the side and closed the distance, recognizing that the gunplay was getting them nowhere.

Yang and Arslan, the close quarters fighters that they were, were in a heated exchange of fists and feet, doing what they could to hit the other while avoiding the attacks of the other girl. A burst of slapping hands kept them from gaining any advantage over the other before Arslan dropped to the ground, her feet slamming into Yang's gut and sending her flying. The heavier blonde never actually hit the ground on the lava side, round fired as her fist was about to make impact gave her the boost needed to flip over to land on her feet, just in time to avoid Arslan from punching the ground where she would have landed had she not pulled off that maneuver. A pair of shots from her gauntlets kept the other blonde from following and Yang rushed her, hoping to press her advantage.

Reese skated around the ice as Blake had settled for placing herself between the girl and the rest of the fighters, watching the girl for any tricks she may pull off. Reese approached Blake at speed before twisting herself on her board, the result being the weapon launched at the faunus at high speeds that Blake knocked away with a scissor slash from her swords only for the board to be returned by the smiling girl hitting it with her padded elbow. Blake tried kicking it to the side this time and closed in on the unarmed girl. Somehow, the hoverboard hooked around to be caught just in time for Reese to block the flurry of slashes from Blake. Even the use of her clone trying to confuse her didn't work and the green-haired girl ducked under a slash, spinning her weapon behind her back to build up the momentum to smack the darker girl away.

The distance created allowed the skater to hop back on her board and charge at Blake, a hop of the board with a twist had the blades cutting at her head, only for Blake to replace herself with an ice clone. It was somewhat disturbing how easily the top of the statue was destroyed, though given the small area of the blades meeting the ice combined with momentum and the weight behind them… not something that anyone would want to take, aura or not. Blake gave the board a powerful slash with her cleaver as the girl came down, smiling that the weapon was cut in half as the girl was sent into the air. That smile vanished as the halves folded themselves into a pair of revolvers which Reese was able to grab and fire at Blake in mid-air. The stunt would have been amazing if the girl's feet didn't slip on the ice upon landing, causing her to smack hard onto her tailbone and the extra natural padding did little to spare her the pain aside from giving her more to hold as her hands naturally reached to hold her bottom in an attempt to relieve herself of the pain. Blake could only wince in sympathy pain, not feeling that it was right to attack the girl who was preoccupied with her own pain.

Yang dropped from a high jump, creating a shockwave on the lava field that Arslan hopped back to avoid being crushed. The taller blonde rushed forward with her momentum and gave the other girl an elbow to the face followed by a punch to the gut that included a round to increase the power. Arslan shrugged off the gut shot well enough to drop into a leg sweep as Yang performed a reverse roundhouse where her head would have been, both attacks missing their marks. Their next exchange of blows came as a difference of styles, Yang's straight forward punches against Arslan's sweeping arms that kept the punches from landing, Yang being literally smacked back by an open hand to the face.

Both fighters recovered in time to rear back their right arms and punch straight at the other, their fists meeting and creating a shockwave that blew them both back, along with and debris in the area for yards around them. Yang landed in a crouch as her feet slid along the rocks for a bit, her left hand on the ground for stability. Arslan landed with a much wider stance and dug her own left hand into the red terrain to slow herself, the gouge being a lasting display of her finger strength.

Arslan had to retreat once again as the taller girl performed a series of acrobatic kicks that few would expect from someone of her size, though as the other blonde flipped away in her own display of acrobatics, she threw a kunai tied to the bandages around her arm that wrapped around the aggressor's ankle. Arslan pulled it tight, yanking the foot out from under the girl and delivered a viscous reverse roundhouse to her gut, sending Yang flying out of the lave zone and onto the ice. The cold on her bare arms and legs were as much of a shock to her system as the kick was, let alone the temperature change of the air in her lungs as she tried to gain her footing as her boots were still hot and melted the ice under her a bit, which left her off balance and an easy target for the Mistralian girl to leap at her with a powerful punch.

Yang landed and slid near Nadir who had taken a perch on a block of ice, trying to locate the red reaper who had vanished from view some time ago in a burst of rose petals. Just because he'd lost his primary target didn't mean he was above taking advantage of an open target, like the tubby blonde laying spread eagle on the ice thanks to his leader. He turned to adjust his aim when the large ice crystal behind him exploded, the Dust in the round combining with the shards to freeze his legs mid fall, the shock making him drop his weapon. An interesting sight for Yang as she stood up to see the helpless opponent looking so disappointed.

"Got your back, sis!" Ruby shouts from the other side of the ice field, her cloak and full coverage choice of clothes helping her deal with the cold better than her sister… insulation aside.

"Whose got yours?" Bolin asks from behind her as he spun his staff in preparation to attack her from behind. Somehow, he'd given Weiss the slip and snuck up on Ruby while her attention was focused elsewhere.

A black glyph forming in the air next to him just before he could jump at the younger girl was his only warning as Weiss leapt at him, her thick legs plowing into his gut with the help of the gravity glyph pulling her into him. Needless to say, the force was enough to send him out of the ice field and into the volcanic area where he impacted a large boulder back first before tumbling over it.

The glyph faded from existence as she smirked at Ruby. "My BFF!" The younger girl cheers.

Weiss' smirk dropped into a frown at that. "No." She responds as frostily the ground they were on before dashing after Bolin… the smirk returning.

Ruby turns away, used to the heiress' attitude and pumps a fist with a wide smile. "Yes!" She follows after her teammate to deal with the staff user.

Bolin was kneeling on the warm ground, using his staff for support as he took some deep breaths to center himself once more when the glow of a white glyph announced the approach of the Schnee, prompting him to stand up. As expected, she landed on it and used the aura construct to give her a slight boost which was enough to get through his guard though it did little to him but rock him on the back foot for a second. He was more than prepared for her return and blocked her next overhead strike without looking, watching as the girl landed from her flip, her sword reflecting the red glow of the volcanic area they were fighting on.

Another glyph formed behind the white-haired girl from which Ruby sprung high in the air from to perform a triple flip to put as much force behind her weapon as possible. Bolin was able to step back to avoid the massive blade and raised his staff to catch the scythes head, where the blades met the shaft. The force of impact was more than enough to launch several rocks into the air from the shockwave produced by the clash. That same shockwave, along with Ruby's technique, kept her suspended in the air for a second or two longer than normal, more than long enough to growl at the ineffectiveness of the combo attack and pull her trigger in response, the round striking the young man on the face.

The shot was enough to push Ruby back to land by Weiss with a flip, yet Bolin was already rising from the ground, having been thrown back by the impact. In fact, he barely seemed fazed. Truly, his ability to take a hit was practically unrivaled as even Yang and Denko were reeling a bit when they served as 'volunteers'.

With a small bounce in his step, Bolin charged the girls as Ruby glanced back at the rest of the field to check the rest of the fighters. Yang and Arslan were once again engaged in a fierce back and forth battle of fists, Nadir was still on ice, and Blake was still chasing after Reese as the girl was able to conserve energy by letting her weapon move her around.

Weiss formed a glyph in response to the oncoming boy and created several icicles, which he ducked under with ease and bypassed their creator without a look back. Ruby swung her scythe with a grunt of frustration, only for him to flip over the massive arc with a small smile.

"What?" Ruby shouts at the unexpected change in tactic.

Bolin wasted little time breaking off a piece of Fire Dust from a much large crystal and tossing it to Reese who was taking a small break from her attacks on Blake. The cat girl watched with some amazement as the girl jammed the Dust into her board, making the glowing green lines turn bright orange before winking at her and floating away. Reese swung by Nadir and her board glowed brightly, the heat generated melting the ice trapping him with ease.

"Thanks Reese!" The pink and black-haired boy shouts as he reaches for his weapon once more, glad that he could join the action again.

Reese swung back to charge at Blake, another jump brought the broad side of the board up to Blake's chest, barely stopped by her swords, but was blasted through a large spire of ice thanks to a large burst of energy from Reese's weapon. The girl in question was able to flip and land safely this time on the ice before running to grab her weapon from where it had lodged itself into the frozen water. Blake had managed to tumble across the ice, somehow managing to avoid the chunks from falling on her.

Yet as she tried to rise to her knees, Reese came crashing down with her board blasting flames on impact as Blake was forced to throw her legs over herself and used a clone to get back on her feet in time to duck under a blazing sweep of the hoverboard. The second fiery spin ignited a clone that took the hit. Reese watched as Blake ran away, using her kusarigama to pull herself across the ice faster than she would normally be able to run across it.

Reese floated after the retreating girl, hoping for an opening to finish the fight. She found the dark-themed girl standing between two spires of ice, looking around. She smirked and chuckled as she charged the girl from behind, using an explosion powered jump to put the scorching blades of her board into the girl's head… only to find that she had attacked yet another clone. While that was shocking, it paled in comparison to her feelings as she watched as the bladed gun passed in front of her, dragging the ribbon along with it. It pulled taut just before Reese ran into it, knocking the breath from her lungs as her belly folded over the line that was nearly pulled from its owner's grip thanks to her weight.

Reese was flipped upside down as Blake leapt from behind the ice to deliver a powerful side kick with her thick legs to Reese's stomach, launching the girl out of the arena boundaries and onto the floor, somehow her board was carried along with her.

"OH! Double whammy!" Port announces. "Reese Chloris is eliminated by both ring out and aura level!" The girl raised her head to see the main display board mark her out of the match, pounding the ground with a fist as her head drops in frustration.

"Oh, she really should have worn a helmet." Oobleck's comment didn't help her mood either.

On another area of the ice field, Arslan slid around the slick surface with the help of her rope dart to steer herself around obstacles. Yang was doing her best to follow using the blasts from her gauntlets for propulsion, with limited success. Nearby, Nadir dodged a strike from Ruby's scythe and used the blade built into his gun to gain some traction before turning the barrel at the girl. He'd found quickly that blade to blade combat wasn't going well and returned to long range, hoping to press her into using her semblance until she ran out of aura.

Unfortunately, his focus on taking aim at the red cloaked girl prevented him from seeing Bolin being thrown at him thanks to a black glyph, the two boys tumbling across the ice in a tangle of limbs yet somehow keeping hold of their weapons. Whatever recovery they were about to make was interrupted by yet another gravity glyph under the both of them, lifting the two and all of the loose ice around them before slamming everything within to a central point. The back of Nadir's head slammed into Bolin's nose, stunning the boy who managed to stay standing through all of that yet showing pain for the first time in the fight.

Weiss wasn't done as another glyph was conjured beneath their feet, attracting loose ice from all around the arena and breaking apart some of the nearby icicles to form an ice ball that trapped the boys within. They had managed to push against each other and the gathering ice enough to keep their upper bodies free but little else. The ball slammed down onto the solid ice, shaking the occupants most of all as Weiss panted from the effort, her aura starting to run low from the trick she just pulled. Luckily, Ruby took the time to hop onto the ball and used her weight to get it rolling, having to run on top of it as it picked up speed before jumping off as it became obvious that it wasn't about to stop any time soon.

Arslan saw the predicament her remaining teammates were in, rolling her eyes with a groan. Dealing with the blonde heavyweight puncher was bad enough that she had to kill time to think of a way to fight her or take out some of her teammates so they tag team her. The latter option was likely out the window if she didn't do something soon. Once again using her rope dart to swing herself around the ice and putting an even more comfortable distance between her and her chosen opponent for the match, Arslan slid to a stop in the balls path and firmly planted her feet, taking a deep breath to focus herself.

With a shout, the blonde thrust her fist out and shattered the mass of gathered ice, freeing her teammates. Nadir and Bolin tumbling to the icy ground amid the shards that once trapped them, more than a few still stuck to their clothes. The girl urged them to get back up now that they had regrouped and the boys complied, still a bit dizzy from rolling and feeling the effects of the cold.

"Yang!" Weiss shouts, catching the girl's attention from where she had slid to a stop to witness the ball shattering, the Heiress' voice stopping her from openly commenting about blue balls. Weiss waves her fingers and produces a series of glyphs from her to the other side of the arena where their opponents stood. "Now!"

Yang easily read the intent and with a boost from her gauntlets, rushed over to the nearest and lowest glyph and jumped on it. The white glyph flashed and the blonde was launched to the next one and the cycle continued. Blake and Ruby used another method, the younger girl grabbing hold of the faunus and taking off with the use of her semblance to catch up to her sister reappearing from the red and black petal blizzard with Blake on the head of her scythe. Ruby twisted and spun, firing a round for an extra boost, with her forward momentum to toss the heavy cat to her sister.

In midair, Blake tossed the pistol end of Gambol Shroud to Yang as she passed the blonde and the glyphs ran out. Blake pulled hard on the ribbon, correcting Yang's trajectory and giving a small speed boost. Unfortunately, that caused the blonde to over rotate and make any punch she was hoping to throw useless… but not out of options as the three teammates were practically lined up for her to fly horizontally and bodily tackling them with enough force to send them into a large hot boulder and knocking out their auras, luckily holding onto Blake's weapon to keep her from doing the same after she rolled to a stop.

"And there we have it! Team RWBY is victorious!" Port announces for the world and the crowd goes nuts for the conclusion of the first match.

"Woohoo!" Ruby shouts as she bounces over to meet up with Blake and Yang in the central arena floor.

"We, did it?" Weiss asks incredulously as she followed her leader.

"I had a gut feeling we'd win." Yang proclaims as she pats her belly with both hands, glad that her girdle held up well. Though she was the only one on the team who thought that it was amusing that she had essentially belly bumped the other team into submission.

"We did it!" Ruby cheers as she jumps high in the air, Crescent Rose held over her head.

AN: I hope you all didn't mind the slight changes to the RWBY vs ABRN fight that I made. Nadir has been made more competent... sorta as a fighter and the thing with Weiss and the ice ball... that makes more sense now than a giant fist coming out of nowhere and leaving no trace that it came from the arena. Weiss hasn't been able to summon yet so it couldn't be from that, so I made it work in a more lore and physics friendly way. Then the finisher... Yang threw her weight around in canon to win the match, why not make it slightly more literal here?

Hopefully I'll be able to get back to my weekly release schedule to keep things consistent for you all. But up next will be Teams BRNZ vs JNPR!
