Yo, Join the discord!
Right, just gonna preface this chapter by saying that iut's literally entirely me testing shit out. The opening concert to the sports festival is a test for me to see different ways I should be writing concerts and stuff, it's me exploring how to write Valiu signing without writing out each and every lyric for you guys and shit. So yeah, this chapter is basically entirely singing and if y'all don't like it then you can skip it, nothing seriously important happens and I made sure to cut the chapter off before the actual sports festival opening ceremony thing began
Anyways, I'll see y'all at the end
[Play Song Title by Artist Name(s)] - this is just what song to play and who it's by so y'all can listen along
"Bitches" - Talking through a microphone. Present Mic and Aizawa will speak like this as will Vali when he addresses the crowd through the Mic.
"Hoes!" - Vali singing. That'll be used when I want the lyrics Vali's speaking to be shown in the chapter.
"Sluts" - Backup Vocals/Jirou. This is used for parts of the sing where Vali isn't singing but someone else, the backing vocals by Jirou, are. They're usually in brackets.
"Are you guys ready for this?" Vali asked the class as they lunged around their classroom. They'd arrived at school as usual but instead of Aizawa greeting them like usual the man was on door duty with a lot of the other staff members which left Vali and Yaoyorozu in charge of the class.
The only instructions they'd been given was to hang around in class for a few hours before getting ready and heading to their respective waiting room inside the stadium itself.
Vali would slip out from the group before they all changed so he could get ready for the opening concert.
"Yup!" Kirishima smiled confidently, flexing his arms "I spent the last two weeks training my Quirk and getting harder than ever!"
Vali held off the smile threatening to break across his face at the innuendo Kirishima had unknowingly made
"Yeah, me and Kiri spent a lot of time at the gym! It was sooo much work but it's worth it for the festival!" Ashido cheered, grabbing her right bicep and striking a pose.
"What about you Vali? Jirou?" He sent a conspiratorial glance at Jirou who smirked back at him. As she'd helped him out the past weeks she was the only person in the class privy to the knowledge of his concert.
Hell out of everyone in the school only Nezu, Present Mic, Aizawa, All Might, Jorou and himself knew about the concert
It was supposed to be a surprise for everyone, not just the students and the audience.
"Jirou and I did some training over the past few weeks" He admitted, casting an idle glance at the clock to see the time and tsking.
It's time

"Vali" The Principle greeted as they waited in one of the many entrances to the main stage. The crowd were buzzing as Present Mic joked around with them in the commentator's box. The atmosphere of the event was amazing as well, you could feel the excitement in the air as everyone prepared for the first years to finally make their debut.
This was the first UA sports festival to be spread across multiple days so everyone was waiting to see what was going to happen.
"Principle Nezu." He greeted back with a smile, spinning the microphone He'd been given in his hand as he waited for his cue to begin.
"Are you sure you'll be alright doing the festival in that gear, Vali? You do have enough time to change, you know." Nezu didn't sound convincing, probably because he wasn't trying to be.
Since Vali slipped away from the class he hadn't gotten changed and as such, is still wearing his school uniform minus the tie and blazer, leaving him in his school pants and shirt. As he knew this was going to happen, He'd come to school wearing some sports shoes so He'd atheist have those.
Other than that, He'd be performing both the concert and the festival in rather smart clothing, unlike everyone else who would be using their gym clothes.
"Yeah, it's fine, not the weirdest clothes I've ever had to fight in." Nothing was worse than fighting a group of pricks butt-ass naked in the middle of a frozen Icebergian Winter just because he slept with some crazy Guild Masters daughter.
He didn't even know she was the guy's kid!
...He'd have still slept with her but c'mon, He'd have at least known about her dad and guildmates.
...He'd have also held back but it's not his fault! He thought they were dark Wizards for god's sake!
Good thing she hated her dad, though it was rather weird that she wanted to do… that after he chucked the guys head away. The girls in Ishgar are weird man.
'I blame Lady Helle, that Goddess was one weird, kinky bitch underneath the loving matron persona she put on'
He shivered at the reminder of Lady Helle, he could never get last the scarring he received from that woman.
Nobody, nobody, had ever come as close to killing Vali as she had and she didn't even try to kill him.
'That pole was far too big to fit inside- NO! BAD VALI! STOP! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP!'
"Valentine?" Vali sniffled, forcing… that particular memory far, far away in the back of his mind. Sometimes he adored his eidetic memory, other times… not so much
"Sorry about that Principle, just a bad memory." His smile must've been forceful as Nezu didn't question it. "Is everything I asked for set up?"
He'd taken the liberty to ask Nezu for a few things to be added to the main stage for the concert, small things like fireworks, Fires and spotlights.
"Yes, they've been set up. Your message came a bit late but we were still setting up the stage when I got it." He sighed thankfully, He'd only just got the message out to Nezu a few days ago.
He'd been so used to having his entourage with him to make the special effects that he'd forgotten that he was alone in this universe. He doesn't have Romeo to create pillars of fire, Bisca or Alzack to shoot explosive rounds into the sky, Wakaba to make smoke constructs- hell he didn't even have Gray or Natsu to make displays of fire and ice!
Here everything had to be made with machinery, you can't use your quirk without a license after all and getting a quirk permit is far too troubling for everyday citizens to yet, hella expensive too
He could've gotten one but he didn't want to, he would get a quirk license for free when he joined UA so going a year without using his quirk was better than paying a shit ton for a licence He'd get for free a year or so later
"That's good, do Aizawa and Present Mic know when to release everything or…?" He asked, stretching his body as he prepared himself for the call up he'd receive in a few moments
"You'll find that there are two small buttons on the microphone you're holding." He brought the mic to eye level and there they were, two small buttons one with the classic fire logo embedded on it in red while the other had a small firework on it in white. "Whenever you're ready to launch the fireworks or have the fire go off then press those buttons, if you want the fire to last more than a few seconds you'll need to hold the fire button in."
"I see" He hummed with a smile "Thank you-"
"LET ME HEAR YOU YELL IF YOU'RE READY!" The booming voice of Present Mic blared over the speakers and Vali knew his cue had come up. So with a passing glance at Nezu, who favoured him with a smile and a thumbs-up, he ran off into the crowd as the music for his first song started playing…

[Play The Whole 'Being Dead' Thing by Alex Brightman]
"Hey, folks! Begging your pardon
'Scuse me, sorry to barge in
Now let's skip the tears and start on the whole
Y'know
Being dead thing"
The audience exploded as the first words of the lyrics left his lips, the second song from the Beetlejuice Broadway Musical filling the massive arena
"You're doomed! Enjoy the singing
The sword of Damocles is swinging
And if I hear your cell phone ringing
I'll kill you myself
The whole "being dead" thing!
Death can get a person stressed
"We should have carpe'd way more diems
Now we're never gonna see 'em!"
I can show you what comes next
So don't be freaked
Stay in your seats
I do this bullshit, like, eight times a week
So just relax, you'll be fine
Drink your fifty-dollar wine
And take a breath!
(Welcome to a show about Death!)"
Jirou's voice, mixed with several overlays where their voices are mixed to create an ensemble, blared over the speakers and from his place in the centre of the arena he could see two people, a man with blonde hair and a woman who looks like an older Jirou, explode in cheering.
Heh, he found one of his friend's parents at least
"You're
You're gonna be fine
On the other side
DIE! YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIE! YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIE!
I'll...
I'll be your guide
To the other side
(Though in full disclosure: It's a show about death)"
He messed with his voice, going high and childish to low and demonic and back up to high again as he mocked the crowd like the original broadway actor had
"Everybody gets on fine here
Like Rodgers, Hart, and Hammerstein here
The women's bathroom has no line here
Just. pee where you want
The whole being dead thing
You're just gonna love the folks here
Yeah, I know you're woke, but you can take a joke here
And every show I do, like, a ton of coke here
The whole-
The whole being dead thing!"
He mimed the action, pressing his finger into the side of his nose as he mimed doing a line of coke before continuing the song, a wide smile on his face
"Nobody is bullet-proof
"I work out, I eat clean!"
Jesus, pass the Dramamine
Time to face the brutal truth
'Cause we're all on a hitlist
Might not live 'till Christmas
Choke to death on Triscuits
Hey, that just statistics
So take a little break here
Kinda like a wake here
The scenery is fake here
BUT THERE'S A GIANT SNAKE HERE
(Welcome to a Show about Death)"
He sang, skulking around the arena. Sadly, as much as he wanted to get a giant mechanical snake made for this one line, it just wasn't possible to be made in the time limit and coming on stage quite enough or discreetly enough for the part of needed to play
"You're... you're gonna be fine
THANK YOU!
On the other side
HOW YOU DOIN'?
Not good?
I'll... I'll be your guide
To the other side
Seriously, though, this is a show about
Death-"
He switched up his voice and posture once more, forcing a more 50ish vibe on the song instead of the modern vibe it had for the majority of the show.
"(-is taboo, but it's hardly something new
There's nothing medical professionals can do
'Cept maybe just bill you)
If you die while listening to this album
It's still gonna keep playing
There's no destiny or fate
Just a terrifying wait
Filled with people that you hate
And on a certain date, the universe kills you
That's the thing with life
No one makes it out alive
Toss that body in the pit
"Gosh, it's awful, ain't it tragic?"
"Blah, blah, Bible. Jesus magic."
When you're dead, who gives a shit?
(No pilates, no more yoga
"Namaste", you freakin' posers)"
He ignored the scowl burn Ascalon gave him as he sang the bible line, most likely feeling a threat come from somewhere but Vali ignored it. The first thing he'd done in this world was to see if any gods were around and the answer was more interesting than he suspected.
Divinity was here, he could feel the lingering magic on the atmosphere but any Gods had long since died or fled this world, the magic was old- not as old as Ibus or the other gods, though that was because Earthlands history is much longer than earth's - and had tried to assimilate inside of him.
Sadly he wasn't a God but a God Slayer so whatever divinity that lingered in this realm was killed off when it tried to enter him. It was more than likely to put him through apotheosis but he didn't want to risk it.
If the divinity was from any yods this world used to worship then he didn't want to risk it. They probably had some weird divine STDs or ancient curses lingering on it.
...so yeah he technically destroyed all the Gods in this world by wiping out lingering divinity.
This is also his genuine theory on why quirks developed and why some were more potent than others, humans had eventually evolved to absorb the divinity lingering in the atmosphere however all it did was alter their genes and empower them which is what created all the different quirks and shit.
So no, he hasn't wiped out superhuman society by accident. He may have caused a dip in the rate people are born with quirks but humans now naturally produced quirks in their DNA now so they'd survive even without the divinity
Anyways what was he doing, oh yeah-
"From the cradle to cremation
Death just needs a little conversation
I have mastered the art (Dies Irae!)
Of tearing convention apart (Dies Irae!)
So, how about we all make a start (Dies Irae!)
On the whole being dead thing
God, I hope you're ready for a show about death!"
The music cut off with a bang and Vali flung his arms out wide as he finished the introductory song!
"Welcome, one and all" He spoke, voice as even as it usually was despite having sung and performed for those 4 minutes "To the UA First Year Sports Festival!"
He took a bow and the crowd exploded. People cheered, some screamed, people, chatted and shouted about the sudden concert, excited murmurs about the schedule change- all of it merging into one large explosion of excitement as he welcomed everyone to the show.
"Now, you all must be curious so I'll come out and say it. Yes, I was hired by UA to play the opening act for this year's UA Sports Festival, as such I have a small collection of songs to play for you while the classes make their way out here" The crowd cheered when he finished speaking and Vali chuckled, making sure to keep the noise out of the microphones reach so no-one could hear him.
He'd missed this, playing in sold-out stadiums. Sure playing small concerts is fun and all but nothing beats knowing you sold out an arena, even if he didn't sell out an arena this time.
"Now, without further ado, I believe it's time to begin the concert. Do you all agree?" A 'Yes' echoed throughout the city as the crowd answered a question and this time Vali made sure everyone could hear his laugh. "You heard them Mr Aizawa, Present Mic!"
[Play Centuries by Fall Out Boy]
A classic. Could you even have a tournament happen without this song being played at least once? Evidently not as the crowd went wild as he began the song again. They'd never heard this song, never heard any of the songs he's playing today, but everyone likes a song that's made specifically to get them hyped up and that's exactly what this song, and the next 6 songs he selected, were made to do.
So Vali sang! And he danced around the stage vibing along with the music and all-around messing on stage as the classes were making their way out.
As this was the first song of seven the classes would be released onto the field in small groups with the first-year Business class being released first. As the song progressed into the final verses he watched the three classes - Class I, J and K - exit the doors and onto the field, a massive round of applause interrupting his song as they appeared, looking around bright-eyed at what they'd hope to eventually create for their clients
Valentine Mizushima is a live-action case of a Civilian to Hero. He carried a large public presence before his hero studies that put him on the map, his management team were some of the best and gave him access to some of the most sought after venues while constantly selling out merchandise, tour tickets and whatever else they could milk from Vali. They could be told to get a bar booked out for a night and they'd have it done in minutes.
When Vali eventually joined the hero course his management team went wild. He'd sent them the Fairy Tail logo, which was going to be the face of his heroic and music career, and they'd trademarked the stamp and created tons of merchandise rocking the tailed Fairy
For the development course students, they wanted to one day be in a position where they had that much sway over the public through someone else, they wanted to be able to make a small decision and impact thousands, pull in a ton of cash and make their clients as famous as Vali became.
It's no wonder so many of them wanted to get in contact with Vali to see if he could give his management team and staff members their names and information. Hell, his manager and his team are in the stands now watching for any talent even if that isn't the reason they were here in the first place!
"Some legends are told
Some turn to dust or to gold
But you will remember me
Remember me for centuries
And just one mistake
Is all it will take
We'll go down in history
Remember me for centuries
(Hey yeah, oh hey)
We'll go down in history (hey yeah)
Remember me for centuries"
The song ended, the music switching in the silence moving away from the rock tone to a different one, a more drum-heavy beat this time-
[Play Believer by Imagine Dragons]
"First things first
I'ma say all the words inside my head
I'm fired up and tired of the way that things have been, oh-ooh
The way that things have been, oh-ooh
Second thing second
Don't you tell me what you think that I could be
I'm the one at the sail, I'm the master of my sea, oh-ooh
The master of my sea, oh-ooh"
-Believer by Imagine Dragons, one his favourite songs of all time and one he got introduced to accidentally. It was a funny story really, he'd been in secondary school at that point, practising a song for his Music GCSE when he saw the title and clicked on it, from there he was finally introduced to the band Imagine Dragons and he fell in love with basically all of their stuff
They were also one of the main inspirations for doing music for him, if he hadn't learned of the band and heard their stuff he probably wouldn't have even tried becoming a musician in the first place.
Anyways! The next two classes came out, Classes G and H belonged to the support course and were two of the three support classes and definitely three less rowdy classes that belonged to Powerloaders classes, however, even they came out in their own quirky way, hoping to get any big companies attention
Unlike the Management course, which came out ready to mingle with the current and future pros to try and get some big talent under their wing, the support course came out decked with their best gear. From his place bounding around the arena, Vali could see large metal wings, stiff metal gloves, Rollerblades that slid easily over the grass and so on more he couldn't even begin to describe
They paraded their stuff around the arena, taking the time they were being introduced to show off their inventions and steal everyone's attention before the big shots of this tournament came through. It was fun, watching the support kids come together as one and make a show out of their introduction.
However it was obvious how rushed it all was, they had more time to prepare than the management course- they'd heard him singing after all and realised the opportunity for what it was so they'd banned together to get whatever gear they could so they didn't have any coordination in their approach but it was certainly more eye-catching and memorable than the Management Courses own introduction.
"Last things last
By the grace of fire and flames
You're the face of the future, the blood in my veins, oh-ooh
The blood in my veins, oh-ooh
But they never did, ever lived, ebbing and flowing
Inhibited, limited 'til it broke open and rained down
It rained down, like...
Pain!
You made me a, you made me a believer, believer
Pain!
You break me down and build me up, believer, believer
Pain
Oh, let the bullets fly, oh, let them rain
My life, my love, my drive, it came from...
Pain!
You made me a, you made me a believer, believer"
The song closed off and the two Support Course classes took their place next to the three management course classes who were split between applause and annoyance, clearly understanding what and happened and while some were pissed they didn't think to do the same the other half of the group had yen signs in their eyes as they tried to monopolise on the situation.
[Play Whatever it Takes by Imagine Dragons]
"Falling too fast to prepare for this
Tripping in the world could be dangerous
Everybody circling, it's vulturous
Negative, nepotist
Everybody waiting for the fall of man
Everybody praying for the end of times
Everybody hoping they could be the one
I was born to run, I was born for this"
Vali was interested to watch the next two classes appear as, for the first time, they were both from separate classes. Class F and Class E. The former of the two were Support Course students while the latter was General Studies students and they both no doubt wanted the spotlight and didn't want to share.
It was clear that that was the case the moment they came from their respective gates. The support course came out in full blast, having more time to prepare than their other classes. They had some coordination and the gear to pull it off.
They even stole the show away from Vali for a moment or two.
However, the centre of attention for the support was the cheerful, pink-haired girl who wore what looked like a makeshift suit of armour. Now it wasn't the prettiest thing to look at, clearly still being in development, but it looked practical.
It's surprising how many heroes had flashy, amazing looking costumes that weren't practical at all. Kaminari, for instance, chose style over safety.
The General Studies kids didn't want to be outshone, however, there wasn't much they could do in this case. They didn't have clearance to use their quirks as the Hero Students do, 5hey don't have the equipment to put on a mini expo like the development students and as much as they'd love to compare themselves to the Management students, they all knew that they'd of made their intro as flashy as possible if they had time to do so.
So they came out trying to be as menacing as possible, it was clear they wanted to be the bad guys of the festival but they looked like little more than kittens in Vali's eyes, walking out with their hands in their pockets, chins jutted out and glares on their faces- it was cute really.
It's not often people look like that in a fight, most fights any Mage gets into start with sunny looks and idly chatter, even those whose posture scream death and murder have the decency to crack a conversation or two with you. It seemed much the same here too, the Villains and heroes took a few seconds to monologue before fighting.
Vali usually just killed people during that time but he also like humouring the idiotic population and carried conversation as well.
That said, some of the students who left were just bobbing along to the song he was singing, dancing along and getting attention by standing out from the boring, edgy punks that the rest of the-
Wait, is that the purple dildo he sees? It is! Oh god that makes so much more sense now, of course, the broody little emo shit was leading the charge in making his class look like shit.
What? Yeah sure, people love rooting for the Villains but when the villain is just straight up a dick everyone just wants to close the book and forget about it.
These guys… Well, they're just not good villains, to be honest.
"Whatever it takes
'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins
I do whatever it takes
'Cause I love how it feels when I break the chains
Whatever it takes
Yeah, take me to the top, I'm ready for
Whatever it takes
'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins
I do what it takes"
He cut his thoughts off as the song came to an end, waiting for the next song to come in and the next class to make their debut
[Play Gold by Imagine Dragons]
"First comes the blessing of all that you've dreamed
But then comes the curses of diamonds and rings
Only at first did it have its appeal
But now you can't tell the false from the real
Who can you trust? (Who can you trust?)"
Gold by Imagine Dragons started off slower than his previous songs but soon picked up in pace and pitch. The songs he'd chosen were picked with the sole intention of making the crowd as hyped up as possible for the event and having a slow, sad song wasn't the way to start a concert let alone a tournament.
However, a song that starts slow and then explodes as Gold does was the perfect song for this kind of event, maybe people didn't like it as much as the other songs since they weren't as loud during the show but they were still really enthusiastic when Classes C and D came out.
The final two General Studies classes came out and unlike the Lome Gen Ed class, they came out fully feeling the music and environment. Since they couldn't perform as the other kids did they decided to do something different and do a 'warm up'
So they came out of their gate in a slow job and jogged around the stadium as he performed, waving to people in the crowd and cheering whenever they spotted family and friends. Some of the biggest and best universities had sent professors to sit in the audience to watch for Any good students to take in after UA so those not aiming for the heroics course were trying to be as appealing and memorable for those guys
If that meant running around the stadium acting like clowns in a circus then so be it.
The kids who were aiming for the Hero course tried their best to display their strengths, doing cartwheels and flips, flipping their fellow students and picking them up- they tried their best to show off and with every new move performed the more people forgot the previous General Studies Class.
If he wasn't singing right now he'd sigh. This is why people don't like boring, broody villains. When you compare them to everyone else then they're forgettable.
In this case, coming out as the only class to not do something made them more forgettable than rememberable.
Would you rather remember the class of brooding teenagers or the class that put on an entire circus performance?
"When everything, everything, everything
You touch turns to gold, gold, gold
Everything, everything, everything
You touch turns to gold, gold
Ooh, gold, ooh, gold, ooh, gold, ooh, gold"
The song came to a closure and the General Studies class settled into their position next to their fellows who looked at them in a mix of awe, anger and frustration.
Most of them had realised that they'd been forgotten when they didn't receive any cheers, some realised when their fellow students came out doing flips and cartwheels and clicked on that their doing nothing was less useful than they thought. This had the effect of either pissing most of them off or making them jealous. It also made a lot of them look at the item students in a new light.
Meanwhile, others, like the purple dildo, glared at them for being flashy or whatever.
God, that kid has a problem, damn.
Anyways, next song-
[Play Glory by The Score]
This was… calculated in a way. He'd been lucky to have been told how the classes were coming out halfway through production which gave him enough time to change songs around.
Class B of the Hero Course came out on their own, flashing their quirks as Vali played his song-
"And it goes something like
Ooh
I'm victorious
Ooh
It's my time
Ooh
There's no stopping this
'Cause I was born for this
I do it for the glory (whoa, whoa) (whoa, whoa)
I do it for the glory (whoa, whoa)"
It was a subtle dig, one many of the heroes picked up on at the top of the stadium. The song itself, on a base level, sounded pretty good for a hero student to walk out to, all about wanting to be victorious and to be remembered-
To be more than a hero.
To be a legend.
However the chorus… Well, it made them seem a little less heroic and a little more glory-seeking. This is why Vali chose this song. Don't get him wrong, he's past the annoying silverettes insult a while ago but Vali is nothing if not petty and being called arrogant for fighting villains is in thing to earn Valis annoyance.
Hence, Glory.
A song in which says that they're not doing what they do because they want glory- because they want to be famous. Not to help people, not for the betterment of society but to be better than people, to be rich and famous.
A small, slight gig that very little of the crowd picked up on, preferring to hum along to the catchy song however those who did catch his insult… well they were very confused and amused at his form of retaliation.
Well they were amused at the retaliation through music but confused over why he was calling them glory-seekers
"I do it for the (whoa)
I do it for the glory (whoa, whoa)
I do it for the glory (whoa, whoa)
I do it for the glory (whoa, whoa)
I do it for the glory (whoa, whoa)"
The song came to an end just as Class 1-B came to form a line next to their fellows who had basically all given up and started vibing with his music like everyone else in the building.
Which was perfect as the second to last song came on and with it, his class came out.
[Play Paid My Dues by NF]
"Clicks, clicks, clicks, they'll do anything to get a few
Tick, tick, tick, that's the sound before my head explodes
Quit, quit, quit, look at you up on your pedestals
Quick, quick, quick, here the critics come it's time to go
I read your article it kinda hurt me
I don't know who hired you or what your friends say in your circle
But the fact that you released it, tells me two things are for certain
They get paid for trashin' people, I get paid cause I stay workin'"
Why did he choose this song? Why did he choose for his class to walk out to? Well, it was simple. It fired shots at a lot of people, it sounds fucking amazing and it's just a badass hype song to come out to.
Y'see after the USJ attack the news went wild, people took shots at UA for letting villains in, people blamed him, blamed All Might, Nezu, Aizawa- he'll one article blamed Bakugo because he was tied up in a villain attack months before the UA school year began!
And this song came for those people, how they had thrown salt at their burdens, how they used their misfortune for fame and publicity, how they'll do anything and not care for the consequences, how they don't care about the kids or parents reactions to their articles.
So this is why he acted so much different than he had for everyone else. When he performed for the other classes to come out to he had done his usual thing. He bounced around the arena, dancing and interacting with the crowd and his year mates, putting on the best show as possible but this time?
This time Vali stood right before the press booth and kept his eyes locked right on them, scowl on his face as he rapped to them about the shit they'd done.
It caused a scene, one his class wasn't prepared for and copied accidentally.
Unlike Class E's attempt to stand out by coming out all broody and emo, everyone wanted a piece of Class 1-A, so when they came out not doing anything flashy, not caring for the music, acting as cool as a cucumber while their class rep called out the press and society as a whole for the shit they stirred up beside of the USJ.
Well, it made a rather powerful statement.
It was definitely Jirou's idea, he saw her smug smile as they walked out of the hallway even as she disappeared in the small crowd.
That said the stadium wasn't quiet, they weren't cheering as loud since everyone clicked on to the meaning of this song but people were cheering and booing the hero class however none were as loud as the small compartment full of their parents.
Since the parents' booth was right next to the Reporters booth he was getting an even better look at the parents than usual and by God could he tell which parents belonged to which kid in his class.
Jirous Mom looked exactly like her except much more mature. Bakugo's mom had the same proud look, blonde hair and red eyes as her son though seemingly lacking the annoying behaviour the kid has, Tsuyu's dad and Siblings were practically spitting images of her, the same with Midoroya's mom and Hagakure's parents.
Kaminari's dad had the same sleepy, wanna-be cool guy look as his son usual had, Mineta's mother was sighing at her son's behaviour, Shoji's parents either weren't here or didn't look like him, the same with Sato's parents, Yaoyorozu's parents, Iida's parents and Aoyama's parents though the latter were probably still in France and watching online instead.
Finally, Uraraka's parents were bawling at seeing their daughter on the field, Sero's older sister was laughing at her brother while their parents watched on, Tokoyami's dad was here and he only knew that because the man also had a birds head, Kirishima's dad was there sitting next to Ashido's family.
Finally, the only person in the family section who even looked slightly related to Todoroki was the white-haired girl with small red streaks in her hair.
She kept glancing up at the Heroes booth and down to her brother, she was also the only person not cheering but looking on in worry.
...he might have to talk to her later, if not to check on Todoroki's home life then to make sure she's alright because she doesn't look comfortable at all.
Maybe she just doesn't like crowds?
"Paid my dues, made it through (whoo, whoo, whoo)
Spread the news, I'm on the loose (whoo, whoo, whoo)
Makin' moves, I need some room (whoo, whoo, whoo)
Thought we's cool
Well don't assume, don't assume hey!
Paid my dues, made it through (whoo, whoo, whoo)
Spread the news, I'm on the loose (whoo, whoo, whoo)
Makin' moves, I need some room (whoo, whoo, whoo)
Thought we's cool
Well don't assume, don't assume hey!"
And like that he turned away from the press, walking away from them and making his way back to the main stage where the rest of the classes were waiting. Finally, the last song came on over the speakers and Vali smiled.
He didn't smirk.
He didn't laugh.
He didn't go deadpanned or stone stoic.
He simply… smiled.
[Play Godzilla by Eminem (feat. Juice WRLD)]
"Ugh, you're a monster
I can swallow a bottle of alcohol and I'll feel like Godzilla
Better hit the deck like the card dealer
My whole squad's in here, walkin' around the party
A cross between a zombie apocalypse and big Bobby
The Brain Heenan which is probably the
Same reason I wrestle with mania
Shady's in this bitch, I'm posse'd up
Consider it to cross me a costly mistake
If they sleepin' on me, the
Hoes better get insomnia, ADHD, hydroxycut
Pass the Courvoisi' (Hey, hey)
In AA, with an AK, melee, finna set it like a playdate
Better vacate, retreat like a vacay, mayday
This beat is cray-cray, Ray J, h-a, h-a, h-a
Laughin' all the way to the bank, I spray flames
They cannot tame or placate the (Ayy)"
He smiled as the lyrics left his lips, this and been the reason getting this album done had taken so long. Oh sure he'd rapped before, he had done a pot of different styles back in Earthland, he'd done a lot of Eminem songs as well but each time he did it he had to remind himself of the lyrics and practise a shit ton before even thinking of performing it live
Could talk fast- he could rap fast but just suddenly jumping on a song like Rap God, or in this case, Godzilla, was hard to do without fumbling over his words.
So yeah, the last week had basically been Vali preparing to rap what he could remember to be one of the fastest raps ever, well, rapped.
"Monster
You get in my way? I'ma feed you to the monster (Yeah)
I'm normal during the day, but at night turn to a monster (Yeah)
When the moon shines like Ice Road Truckers
I look like a villain outta those blockbusters
Godzilla, fire spitter, monster
Blood on the dance floor, and on the Louis V carpet
Fire, Godzilla, fire, monster
Blood on the dance floor, and on the Louis V carpet"
Sadly, unlike Eminem, Vali doesn't have a featured artist to sing Juice WRLD's parts so he had to do so himself which was annoying, luckily the practise had come in handy and he was all prepared to get on with the song.
People were enjoying it as well. Vali suddenly changing the beat up and rapping, the fire he kept shooting up from the stage, the fact that everyone's eyes had to stay on him since no more classes needed to be introduced-
It all lined up so perfectly and Vali loved it.
"I'm just a product of Slick Rick, at Onyx, told 'em lick the balls
Had 'em just appalled at so many things that pissed 'em off
It's impossible to list 'em all
And in the midst of all this
I'm in a mental hospital with a crystal ball
Tryna see, will I still be like this tomorrow?
Risperdal, voices whisper
But my fist is balled back up against the wall, pencil drawn
This is just the song to go ballistic on
You just pulled a pistol on the guy with the missile launcher
I'm just a Loch Ness, the mythological
Quick to tell a bitch screw off like a fifth of Vodka
When you twist the top of the bottle, I'm a
Monster
You get in my way? I'ma feed you to the monster (Yeah)
I'm normal during the day, but at night turn to a monster (Yeah)
When the moon shines like Ice Road Truckers
I look like a villain outta those blockbusters
Godzilla, fire spitter, monster
Blood on the dance floor, and on the Louis V carpet
Fire, Godzilla, fire, monster
Blood on the dance floor, and on the Louis V carpet"
He walked between the groups of students before reaching his own group. Class 1-A welcomed his back with smiles as he sang and danced around them, he stopped a few times high fiving his closer friend's like Kirishima, Ashido and Jirou who would no doubt enjoy the five minutes of fame they'd be getting from his close association with them.
"If you never gave a damn, raise your hand
'Cause I'm about to set trip, vacation plans
I'm on point, like my index is, so all you will ever get is
The motherfuckin' finger (Finger), prostate exam ('xam)
How can I have all these fans and perspire?
Like a liar's pants, I'm on fire
And I got no plans to retire and I'm still the man you admire
These chicks are spazzin' out, I only get more handsome and flier
I got 'em passin' out like what you do, when you hand someone flyers
What goes around comes around just like the blades on a chainsaw
'Cause I caught the flaps of my dollar stack
Right off the bat like a baseball, like Kid Ink
Bitch, I got them racks with so much ease that they call me Diddy
'Cause I make bands and I call getting cheese a cakewalk (Cheesecake)
Bitch, I'm a player, I'm too motherfuckin' stingy for Cher
Won't even lend you an ear ain't even pretendin' to care
But I tell a bitch I'll marry her, if she'll bury her
Face on my genital area, the original Richard Ramirez
Christian Rivera '
'Cause my lyrics never sit well so they wanna give me the chair
Like a paraplegic, and it's scary, call it Harry Carry
'Cause every Tom and Dick and Harry
Carry a Merriam motherfuckin' dictionary
Got 'em swearin' up and down, they can't spit, this shit's hilarious
It's time to put these bitches in the obituary column
We wouldn't see eye to eye with a staring problem
Get the shaft out like a steering column (Mark Jack)"
He left his classmates, working his way up to the small stage that Midnight and Cementoss stood on, both of who waited for him with smiles as he approached the stage. Midnight clearly enjoyed the music much more than her fellow teacher, her heels bouncing along to the song, meanwhile, Cementos clearly appreciated the music but Vali could it just wasn't his taste.
Ah, he smiled, this is it-
"Trigger happy, pack heat, but it's black ink
Evil half of the Bad Meets
Evil, that means take a back seat
Take it back to Fat Petes with a maxi, single
Look at my rap sheets, what attracts these people
Is my gangster, bitch, like Apache with a catchy jingle
I stack these chips, you barely got a half-eaten Cheeto
Fill 'em with the venom, and eliminate 'em
Other words, I Minute Maid 'em
I don't want to hurt 'em, but I did 'em in a fit of rage
I'm murderin' again, nobody will evade him
I'm finna kill 'em and dump all the fuckin' bodies in a lake
Obliteratin' everything, incineratin' and renegade 'em
And I make anybody who want it with the pen afraid
But don't nobody want it but they're gonna get it anyway
'Cause I'm beginnin' to feel like I'm mentally ill
I'm Atilla, kill or be killed, I'm a killer, be the vanilla gorilla
You're bringin' the killer within me, out of me
You don't want to be the enemy of the demon
Who went in me, and be on the recieving of me, what stupidity, it'd be
Every bit of me is the epitome of a spitter
When I'm in the vicinity, motherfucker, you better duck
Or you finna be dead the minute you run into me
A hundred percent of you is a fifth of a percent of me
I'm 'bout to fuckin' finish you bitch, I'm unfadable
You wanna battle, I'm available, I'm blowin' up like an inflatable
I'm undebatable, I'm unavoidable, I'm unevadable
I'm on the toilet bowl
I got a trailer full of money and I'm paid in full
I'm not afraid to pull the
Man stop
Look what I'm plannin' (Haha)"
The world went silent as the fireworks went off, the sing finishing as he gave out the fastest verse of the song. If people had thought he was rapping fast in Paid My Dues, then their jaws were no doubt hanging open now as he rapped even faster than before to finish off the song
The silence, however… the silence was loud.
It wasn't a silence of awkwardness where people just didn't know what to say or how to say it and it definitely wasn't a silence where they were uncomfortable. It was just-
Nobody expected that to happen.
Vali had, Jirou had, Nezu and Toshinori had.
Nobody else in the world knew what Vali was about to do unless they could see the future and even then Vali's been known to defy the expectations of seers worldwide so he's not even sure they'd know what he had planned to do.
So yes, while the arena was silent it was louder than any applause he could ever receive. He'd quite literally rendered everyone speechless.
Well, that was until the crowd realised he was done exploded in cheers, everyone gossiping at what the fuck had just happened, at how this year's sports festival was already more interesting than any of the previous year's sports festivals- everything.
He could hear all of it and he basked in the applause that boomed louder than any of the speakers could put out.
Vali panted slightly, letting his breath come back to him as he planted the Microphone in Midnight's hand
"I think you'll need this." He chuckled, heading back into the crowd of students while the woman stood in stoic silence.
This is the song list for this chapter:

8 - Godzilla by Eminem and Juice WRLD
Yo!
So this chapter was fun to write, I actually did all 8,000 words in one go because I was so into it. This was literally me just testing myself and Vali, seeing how I can write music scenes differently to how I usually do which is why it seems nothing important happens during this chapter. I made it so y'all can read it if ya want to, but if you don't care for the actual singing stuff then you're free to skip it without worrying about it. And nobody can complain that nothing happens to that they don't care or whatever because this is the second warning I've given telling y'all you could skip if ya want.
Anyways! This chapter was fun for me like I said, mainly because I got to show Vali's petty side. Originally I was going to have Vali start the concert off, give his small speech but then go 'Oh, and this first song is dedicated to a very special roach I met the other day, you too Mr Snipe!' and then have him sing Bulletproof by La Roux but it just didn't fit right with everything so instead Vali decided to be petty and make Class 1-B come out to a song that, while amazing, basically just calls them glory seekers. Now, Paid My Dues was an interesting choice for me, I really wanted Vali to do something to the press because of their jokes about the USJ and how they kept blaming everyone for it but never really knew how to fit it in when it hit me. Vali's a petty bitch that's been given the chance to perform on a worldwide stage, so he picked the best song he could think of at the time and recreated it calling the press out to their face for taking the situation lightly and not treating it as they should've
Godzilla was just thrown in there because I like the song and thought it'd be funny for Vali to just start fucking rapping as fats as Eminem did. However, Vali isn't infallible and so, had to practise the rap since it's just really fucking fast. The other songs don't really have any special meanings to them like those three, I just liked them and thought they fit well with the whole situation Vali was singing for.
So yeah, the super epic singing concert chapter is done and dusted. The next chapter will most likely be the first two sports festival events before moving on to the all-important and amazing third round.
See ya next time!
