Chapter 25
It had been 3 days since the I-Island incident.
Izuku and the rest of the students had returned home to Japan. No one said a word to each other as they were flying in the plane.
Izuku just didn't know what to say to anyone.
It was now the day of the funeral. Melissa wanted it to be held in Japan so of course, Izuku and everyone else that was involved in the I-Island incident was invited.
Izuku placed on his suit-he had it fixed for the funeral-and set off to the passing. He didn't know David but due to his journey through I-Island, he had befriended his daughter.
He met up with Welf and Yaoyorozu on the way to the funeral. Each of them wore forlorn expressions on their faces. None of the teens got over what happened that night. Especially Izuku, Welf and Melissa. Who had seen David's death with their own eyes.
As they walked along not speaking at all. They met with the rest of the teens who were there. Everyone but Mineta, Kaminari and Jiro were present. Those three didn't feel like they deserved to be there.
The group had arrived at their destination with only a few of them actually saying words along the way. But the words spoken were few and far between. There were a lot of people Izuku didn't recognise but that was par for the course. They spotted Melissa and the first one over to her was Uraraka. Who had apparently become good friends with the blonde girl after that night.
The people mingled with each other. And his classmates tried to get involved. But Izuku sat down and didn't move. He didn't feel like he had any right to talk to anyone after what had happened.
Izuku's guilt had its tight claws wrapped around his heart. And no matter what he did they wouldn't leave.
He blamed himself for his death. He had been saved by the man in his last moments.
And it wasn't the first time he had been saved by someone else.
A year and 3 months ago.
It was a normal classroom. Filled with normal students. Just like every normal day. There sat one person near the centre of the room.
His green hair made it obvious who was sitting there, but only if you knew the boy.
Sitting in his seat was Izuku Midoriya. He was currently writing in his hero notebook vol 13. School had already ended but he stayed behind for a few reasons.
There was an actual desk he could use. Which was better than just walking around and trying to write in it.
He had somewhere to sit that wasn't wet or trashed. Most of the time.
And finally, Kacchan and his friends often left school as soon as it ended meaning they weren't going to be around to bother him.
Well, that was the normal routine. However, something today had pissed him off and he just had to find his favourite plaything to torment before he went home. "Oi Sparkles! You know how long I've waited on you coming out!" His words were loud and crude.
"S-s-sorry Kacchan." Izuku replied to the blond boy. His voice was timid and clearly afraid. Loud footsteps rang out from behind the boy. "What's this you're working on?" Kacchan's voice got quieter as he got closer. Luring Izuku into a false sense of safety.
Izuku didn't answer. He knew what Kacchan was doing and wasn't about to just play his game. Until his hand slammed on the desk and began smoking. "I asked you a fucking question. Answer it, dipshit!"
He flinched at the hand in front of him. "I-Its a hero notebo-" His words were cut off as Kacchan grabbed the notebook from underneath his arms. Izuku shot up flailing his arms around like a child trying to punch someone. However, a swift and strong punch to his gut sent him barreling back down to his seat.
Izuku could hardly breathe as the punch winded him. "Are you still making these creepy ass things? I thought I told you to fucking stop!" The usual rage was back and burning brighter than before. "I know I've explained this to you before but it seems you just don't listen! With your pathetic and weak quirk, you'll never be a hero." Izuku tried to retort but stopped when Kacchan shouted. "NEVER! But I'll give you a chance." He said as if his words were graceful. Acting almost like he was some benevolent god.
"If you really want to be a hero."
"Then try taking a swan dive off the roof!"
As he said that last bit he flung another punch at Izuku and hit him square in the face. Izuku could taste blood as his notebook hit him in the face. Kacchan had thrown it at him. Izuku heard the violent teen leave the room and walk away. He grabbed the notebook and saw a bit of his blood had pooled on the paper staining it.
He wiped the fresh blood from his bottom lip and saw a smudge of red dragged along the back of his hand. Izuku felt frustrated. Frustrated at Kacchan for always tormenting him. Frustrated that his place of happiness had been soiled by the bullies.
But mostly frustrated at himself for being so weak.
He rose to his feet and looked around. Thankfully Kacchan had left his bag alone. He unzipped the big compartment and withdrew a book. The book was old. Very old. His grandfather made the book for him. It was known as Dungeon Oratoria.
While you can buy the book anywhere. The one Izuku owns is special. His grandfather made it. The book was updated with more stories and a different look at the stories. He always said he had a friend who was a part of everything. So Gramps wrote that version for Izuku to read.
He took the book everywhere with him. It was like a lucky charm.
He began walking out of the school. He had placed the book back in his bag.
His trip home was as uneventful as always. He walked past one building and then another. Each and every place he strolled past always had something uninteresting going on inside. Like workers doing their job. Or children being cared for.
But Izuku didn't care.
He used to. Back a few years earlier he was curious about everything. He wanted to meet and talk to everyone. Wanted to be friends with every person he met. He looked up at the blue sky. "Where did that boy go?" His voice was quiet but unnoticeable by passersby.
Speaking of people nearby there was nobody. The tunnel directly in front of him was desolate. Not a single person was in sight. Not even an item that might've belonged to someone.
But that was par for the course. The path he took home wasn't very popular. That was one of the reasons he liked it so much.
He walked forward undeterred by the lack of people. But something caught his attention. A sound rang out from behind him. He gave a slight look around but he didn't see anything. His eyes drew him toward the ground where he saw a manhole swirling. Then again a sound from behind him.
This time, however, a foreboding feeling washed over him. He tried to turn around but his body wouldn't listen to him. A sloshing noise began echoing from behind him.
He had to turn around even if his body wouldn't let him. He had to.
Quickly he turned his whole body around and was now facing the liquid looming over him. The darkness in the tunnel meant Izuku could only see parts of the man. Mainly the eyes.
His eyes were a disgusting yellow colour. With red pupils in the middle. His body was definitely a liquid, kinda like sewage. He had a smile plastered on his face. The dark green goop then grabbed Izuku by the neck and consumed him.
"Sorry about this, kid. But I need someplace to hide till I lose the big guy." His voice was like nails on a chalkboard to the boy. Izuku tried to resist but couldn't.
The sludge then started pushing its way down his throat Izuku quickly realised he couldn't breathe. The man was suffocating him.
And there wasn't a damn thing Izuku could do about it. His quirks weren't strong enough to save him. As he could feel his life draining from his body the boy thought of everyone in his life.
The first person who came to mind was his mother. He cared deeply for the woman. He loved her. She had raised and helped to make him into the person he was today.
Then an image of Kacchan invaded his thoughts. He looked up to the boy. He was so much better than Izuku himself. He was braver, stronger and smarter. He was everything Izuku wanted to be.
The last person he thought of was his gramps. He was finally going to get to see him again. He was going to be reunited with the man who taught him what a hero was.
But despite that he was sad. The thought that his gramps didn't want him to die began spreading through his body. Izuku wanted to be free. He didn't want to die. He wanted to live and prove to his gramps that he could be a hero. He began pulling trying to gather together the last bit of strength that remained in his body.
But it was too late. The power had left his body. He had nothing left.
It was only a matter of time until he wasn't a part of this earth anymore.
But the manhole shot off the ground and someone climbed out. Someone big and with a massive amount of blond hair on his head. He said a few things Izuku couldn't hear.
But the swing of a fist later and Izuku was freed from the grip of the villain. He could feel his body flying through the air until he finally noticed that the person that saved him was none other than All Might.
But he quickly fell unconscious.
As the rest of the people decided to move the funeral outside to bury him. Izuku followed still not talking to anyone. He stepped outside and noticed it was raining. But nonetheless, they all went.
He walked along unaware that one of his classmates was watching him out of concern.
They all stopped at the biggest gravestone in the entire graveyard. The name David Shield was embroiled on the stone.
Once everyone arrived at their seats the first person to step up to the front to speak was All Might. Who was not smiling. "I'd like to thank everyone for coming today." His voice was sombre and lacked its booming quality. "I understand that this is a hard day for most of us. The world has lost one of the greatest scientists. But for us. We've lost a friend, a family member, A hero. David died in the most honourable way possible. He saved the life of a hero in training. He gave himself up for another person."
"David will always be a true hero. No matter what anyone says. And let this be a reminder that anyone can be a hero."
"Now I have something I'd like to say before handing this over to his daughter. As of today I shall adopt Melissa and give her a place here in Japan. We've already discussed this and she has fully agreed."
Izuku looked at the towering man. His words seemed honest but Izuku knew the truth.
Not everyone could be a hero. All Might himself said so after all.
He opened his eyes after what felt like hours. He was lying on the cold concrete ground still in the tunnel. The back of his head slightly hurt but that must've been from hitting the ground. He gave a quick look back at his memories and realised that All Might that just saved him.
Izuku quickly shot up and was now sitting up. He saw the blond hero crouching around the green sludge that tried to kill him. The hero was picking up scatters of the villain and placing them in a bottle that used to contain some kind of caffeinated drink. He stood up and wiped the sweat from his head.
"Finally done! That took a lot longer than I thought it would." His voice was as every bit heroic as he thought it would be. The tall man then turned his attention to the young boy who was staring at him with a mixture of excitement, shock and for some reason fear. "Ah, glad to see you're awake! Does anything hurt?" All Might said to which Izuku-forgetting how to speak-just shook his head.
"Great. With that, I shall take my leave." All Might turned around and bent his legs downward. Izuku stuck his hand out in front of him and tried to reach for the hero. He hadn't even said a word to the number 1 hero but he was already going to leave.
'No. I can't just let him leave. I need to ask him. To see if I can be a hero.' He reached out and closed his eyes.
He could feel his hand holding onto something but his eyes were still closed. He opened his eyes and saw that he was miles above the ground. Latched onto All Might's leg. He could feel all the muscles of the hero and they felt very her-no now's not the time to be admiring All Might's leg muscles.
He was high enough to die if he fell. His grip on All Might increased as he realised that fact. He let out a deathly loud scream as if his life depended on it. The wind dried his eyes out almost instantly. He couldn't keep the skin around his mouth.
As Izuku struggled to cling to life All Might noticed him and tried to shake him off. But after seeing the boy violenting shaking his head as his grip got even tighter All Might stopped and grabbed onto the boy. But using his other hand he let out a cough as some blood spattered on his hand.
He quickly found a building and landed on it. He made sure the boy was safe before he bent his knees getting ready to leap away again. "Please wait!" Izuku shouted trying to get even just a small chance to talk to the man before he left. "Sorry, but I really must be getting this villain to the station."
"I want to be a hero!" Izuku shouted which stopped the man before he could take off. All Might turned his head and gave the boy a side glance. "All my life. I've always wanted to be a hero. I always watched videos of you or other heroes saving people. I love hero stories like Dungeon Oratoria. I've only ever wanted to be one. But my quirk is unfit for being a hero. I have two but one of them is useless in a fight. It allows me to make my hand glow white. But the other one makes a small flame like a match on my hand. So do you think I can be a hero with these useless powers?" Izuku realised he made that a little long but he couldn't help but mention them.
He looked up and saw a skinny man where All Might used to be. His eyes were sunken and dark. His face looked like a diamond shape. His arms looked like they would snap if you applied a little bit of pressure on them. "Wh-where did All Might go?!" Izuku began looking frantically around for where All Might had gone.
"I'm right here." The barely alive man said. Izuku quickly noticed blood dripping from the man's lip. He wiped it away before Izuku could mention it. He sat down on the roof. "This is the side of me the public doesn't know about. Truthfully, this is how I look most of the time." He lifted up his shirt to reveal a scar on his stomach with cracks extending up to his neck. "Due to this injury, I can only maintain my hero form for about 3 hours a day. Pathetic right?"
Izuku looked at the dejected man. He honestly didn't know what to say to him. So he didn't say anything.
After a few seconds of silence, All Might spoke up again. "Honestly kid, I don't think you can be a hero with a quirk like yours. This job is tough. Hell, most of the time it's ONLY life-threatening."
Izuku stopping listening when All Might said he couldn't be a hero. That was it. That was all he needed to hear. All Might continued to speak as he made his way over to the door of the roof. With a few more words he left Izuku sitting there on the roof.
After a few minutes of just standing there baffled. He fell to his knees. He pulled out the book from his bag. And started reading it for the hundredth time.
But this time for the first time the pages were stained with tears.
A little while after Izuku had gotten off the roof he found himself walking in the direction of a villain attack. As he looked on, however, he saw Kacchan being suffocated by the same sludge type villain that tried to kill him. He stood there unsure of what to do.
But without thinking his foot stepped forward toward the danger. But stopped as All Might jumped from the crowd. He grabbed Kacchan and sent a punch toward the villain. Of course, he could save him. All Might saves everyone. He watched for a bit longer until "it" happened.
All Might gave Kacchan a pat on the back. And said something that would change everything.
"With a quirk like yours! You'll make a great hero someday!" He said with a hearty laugh.
Everything cracked. It seemed like the world itself was breaking down in front of him. He knew that Kacchan would be a great hero. But that didn't make it hurt any less. The person who bullied him. Tormented him. Was being told that he could be a hero while Izuku was told he couldn't.
With his emotions overflowing Izuku ran away. Ran where? No idea. Just anywhere but there.
That night a missing person report was filed for Izuku Midoriya.
"I'd like to thank you all for coming to respect my father as we see him off." Melissa spoke in front of the crowd. It was clear that she was trying to hold back tears. "My father was a fantastic man. He was strong and brave. He inspired many people, me included. He made many things that I'm sure will lead the way in paving the future. And as his only daughter, I swear to carry on the legacy that is David Shield."
Izuku watched her speech and felt like a hypocrite. He was the one David had saved. He caused his death and yet here he was at his funeral. He didn't save him. He didn't save anyone. He didn't even beat the villain. Welf did that.
His emotions began building up within him until they were basically bursting at the seams to be free. His rage was overwhelming. His sadness was infecting his entire body. Until he felt something wrap itself around his hand.
He looked down and saw Yaoyorozu holding his hand. She wasn't looking at him still facing forward. He had told her everything that had happened on the roof. She knew about how he was saved. So this was her way of comforting the boy.
Unlike normal where Izuku would freak out about the slightest contact with a girl. He didn't mind this. No, He liked this.
After the funeral was over the group from I-Island were going to walk back to the train station together. But one of them noticed that someone wasn't with them.
"Hey guys, where is Midoriya?" Todoroki asked. And sure enough, he wasn't around.
"He said he wanted to go somewhere before heading back to his house." Yaoyorozu said as she looked in the direction he went. 'Please be okay.'
It had been a week since that day. Izuku hadn't returned home or to school. The conversation with All Might ran over in his head every minute. His clothes were ragged. His dark-green hair was greasy. His bag still held most of his contents including his book Dungeon Oratoria.
He had been rained on. The sun had burnt him. The cold nights froze him. But through it all, he never felt like he wanted to return home.
He had gone back to that rooftop where he and All Might had talked to cut all it short. But he resisted that urge. Even if it hurt he wanted to live. Just to prove he was better than those who berated him.
He thought it was a miracle he hadn't been mugged yet. He had been staying in Daedalus Street for the last few days. He fit right in with the people who resided here. People who had been abandoned by those they cared about. Those who had everything taken from them. Their dreams crushed.
But he was running out of food and drinking water. So he did have to explore outside of the area he lived in. He found this risky however, he knew the police were looking for him to bring him back.
He stuck to the back alleyways. And side streets hoping to avoid as much attention as he could. But this time he ran into a problem.
"Look what we have here? A fucking sewer rat." A voice came from behind him. "I was hoping for a rich bitch but hey, I'll take whatever I can get." Izuku turned around and saw a massive man with equally big muscles slowly walking toward him. Quickly he turned back around and was about to take off running when he noticed two smaller guys blocking the exit to the alley.
He was trapped.
"Aww, you were thinking about running, huh? Too bad I had already thought of that. Now be a good boy and hand over all your belongings." The bigger guy had picked up a metal pipe while walking toward him.
Izuku placed down his bag and opened it before taking out a couple of items. But he left his book in it. "That it?" The guy said to which Izuku nodded. "Thanks." He said before he swung the pipe and hit Izuku in the stomach. "Sorry kid, but you saw our faces so we can't just let you leave here alive. You know?"
'This is it. No All Might this time. No heroes are coming to save me this time.'
The man raised the pipe above his head. And was about to bring it down but got stopped. He looked forward at where the two smaller guys were.
"Are you barbarians really trying to rob a child?" A cold voice echoed through the alley. It wasn't heroic in any way. No, it sounded more like a villain's.
"This has nothing to do with you, bitch. So keep walking." The big guy said.
"While that may be true, my friend here doesn't want to see some kid's brains splattered on the walls. So I have to ask you to stop."
"Nah I don't feel like stopping. I know, why don't you try to stop me then." He had a smile on his face. While Izuku couldn't see who they were talking to he assumed from the sound of their voice it was a girl.
Another voice then spoke up. "Please just leave him alone." Hers sounded softer and more like she was pleading with the men than actually trying to annoy them.
"Oh, I know. If you two 'take care' of me and my friends here we'll leave this kid alone. Sound good?" The man said with a sly smile on his face. He lowered his pipe. Izuku could see his eyes looking up and down the two girls.
Izuku saw one of the guys slowly get closer to the girls before a blunt impact rang out. The guy that moved was now on the ground in a worse shape than him.
"You people are disgusting. Keep your eyes to yourself before I rip them out." The first girl said. The big guy with the pipe physically flinched at her words. The other small guy pulled out a knife and charged the girl.
She grabbed his wrist before the knife got near her and flipped him onto his back using just one of her arms. He let out a yelp of pain but that quickly got snuffed out by her foot planting itself on his neck and cutting off his breath.
The big guy spun the pipe like a professional and held it with one hand. He raised his other hand and chunks of rock appeared over his skin creating a makeshift shield. He kept his smile the whole time. "You ain't gonna beat me. With no weapon, you won't make it past my shield."
She simply stepped forward. No fear was in her eyes. Izuku finally got a good look at the woman. She was wearing a green waitress outfit and had a lighter shade of green for her hair. But the part that stuck out the most to the boy was her eyes. The blue in them reminded him of a clear sky.
Quickly she grabbed the lid of a metal trash can before throwing it at the man. The rocks on his arm cracked. Then she swung her fist at him. He blocked the attack but her fist drove right through his shield. With his quirk shattered she kicked him in the leg which caused him to fall down.
On his way down she grabbed onto the pipe in his hand and took it off him. She then grabbed Izuku with her other hand and moved back to the other girl. While she did that the big guy got back up. This time though fear was clear in his eyes.
Almost as though he realised something. "G-Gale Wind!" He shouted before running away down the alley. He quickly disappeared into the darkness.
Izuku looked down the alley where the man had fled for a few seconds. But he quickly got up and turned to face the two girls before bowing. "T-t-thank you for saving me." He said. The one with green hair looked at him for a few seconds.
But the other girl seemed a bit more worried. "Are you alright?" Her voice was soft and kind. She had grey hair and equally grey eyes. She wore the same green uniform as the other girl.
Izuku rubbed the back of his head as he spoke. "Yeah, I'm fin-" However, he was cut off by his own body. Due to hunger, pain or exhaustion, Izuku stumbled forward before falling toward the girls. But before he could hit the ground he got caught.
"It's okay, now you may rest."
It was the green-haired girl that had saved him from falling. Her words were sweet almost like a gentle lullaby forcing him into sleep. The warmth from being held was comforting to the teen.
He passed out in her arms.
It was still raining. It had been a few hours since the funeral but Izuku had no urge to return home. He wanted to wander the streets for as long as he could before he was forced to head home.
His hair was wet due to him not having an umbrella. His suit was clinging to his body.
He turned a corner and realised where he was. It was an alleyway he knew all too well. It had been over a year since then but he couldn't forget that day. That meeting with the two girls who would change his life forever.
Sure it was a low point. Being homeless and almost dying but he would do it again and again. He wouldn't ever change his decisions.
He had met someone that day who would become the person he looks up to the most. She far surpassed All Might.
Despite being where it all began. He didn't smile.
The first thing he felt was warmth. It was a different type of warmth from what he fell asleep to. This one was covering his whole body. He opened his eyes and realised he was in a bed. There was a lamp to his right.
He didn't recognise the place where he awoke. The room had a wooden design. He sat up and could hear the sounds of people talking and footsteps coming from below him. He got up and almost fell over again. His legs were weak.
He propped himself up using his hands and the bed. He slowly moved to the end of the bed before letting go and stumbling toward a wall. He began leaning on the wall to hold himself up.
He slowly made his way over to the door. He opened it and walked out. He could see a window at the end of the hallway with the sun shining through. He made it to a railing that led to a staircase. Since he couldn't hear anything from above him he went downstairs.
He held onto the railing for dear life as he stumbled down the stairs. He made it to the last three steps before his eyes met a girl with short black hair holding a few plates. She smiled at him as he realised she wasn't the only one in the room.
A different girl with cat ears on the top of her head pointed at him. "The dead walks! Nya." She said with a massive grin on her head. Izuku made it to the bottom step before he stumbled again.
This time, however, a girl with light brown hair helped him stand. "You sure you should be walkin?" She asked rather bluntly.
The same girl with grey hair from before appeared in front of him. "I'm glad you're okay." She said with a smile. The green-haired girl was standing against a wall on the other side of the room.
"Um, where am I?" He asked.
"Welcome to the Hostess of Fertility. It's a bar and cafe, thankfully it's the morning so you don't have to worry about any drunk people walking in." The grey-haired girl said. Her finger was floating around in front of her face as she spoke.
Izuku opened his mouth to speak when he saw a break in her sentence. But ultimately he failed. "Oh yeah, My name is Syr, nice to meet you." Her smile was shining brightly.
"Ohh introductions. My nyame is Anya." A cat-girl with brown hair. If it was a few shades lighter it would be orange.
The one with black hair from before then spoke up. "I'm Chloe. But you can call me Big Sis." Her smile from before turned into something almost terrifying for the boy. He felt a shudder of fear almost like he was being hunted run through him.
"God, you're disgusting! Lunoire." The girl who helped him stand straight after he almost fell from the stairs said.
"Oh yeah, the one who helped you in is Ryuu," Syr said with a smile. "So what's your name?" Each of the girls looked at him with anticipation in their eyes. The only one who didn't was Ryuu who was just looking at the ground.
"I-I'm Izuku Midoriya. N-nice t-t-to meet you a-all." He said trying to avoid eye contact with the girls. But one of them wasn't having it.
"So what happened to you?" He looked up as Syr spoke and was surprised by how close she had gotten. Her face was inches away from his own. Any closer and their noses would be touching.
Izuku quickly backed away as he shot his hands up in front of his face. "N-nothing!" He shouted after gaining a bit of distance. This, however, seemed to annoy Ryuu.
"Nothing doesn't lead teenagers to almost death. Nothing doesn't cause people to pass out from exhaustion. Nothing doesn't ruin clothes. Something happened and as the people who saved you I think we're due an explanation." The way she spoke was fast but not loud. It sounded like she just wanted to get this all over with.
She was right. They had helped him a lot. Saved him even.
He then quickly explained a lot of what happened without mentioning certain details like All Might's weak form.
"That's horrible." Syr said with a hand covering her mouth. A few of the other girls seemed to agree but didn't say anything.
"I can't believe All Might would say something like that." Chloe said.
Ryuu looked down now. She felt bad about making him talk about that. About making him relive it all. Then she decided what she was going to do to make up for it.
"You can be a hero." She spoke through the group. Her voice pierced his ears like a needle. "Anyone can be a hero. You just need to work hard. Train your body and your quirk. You can only create a small flame right now? Well, train that until you can shoot out a tsunami of hellfire."
It wasn't much. It definitely wasn't like the number 1 hero himself was saying it. But fuck him.
Fuck All Might.
Tears began filling Izuku's eyes as he looked at the girl in front of him.
It had been 14 years but he finally found someone who believes in him.
"And if you ever find yourself stuck and unsure of what to do. Come talk to me."
With that, the dam broke. Tears began flooding out of his eyes at insane speeds.
After that when he left. For the first time in at least a week. He was smiling.
Izuku stood outside the Hostess of Fertility. It was still raining just as it had been during the funeral which had ended about 3 hours ago.
He took a step inside and was met with the sight of the black-haired woman. Her smile widened as she saw him. She opened her mouth to shout for Syr. But Izuku stopped her. "Can I talk to Ryuu?" She looked at him as if realising why he was here.
"Ryuu we got someone here to see you!" Chloe shouted out but her smile was now gone. "Send 'em through!" Mia shouted back. Apparently, Ryuu was still in her room on the third floor.
"You know the way." Chloe said to the boy.
He stepped past her before speaking. "Thanks, Big Sis." Izuku then left the room.
Chloe stood there for a second before turning on her heels toward the kitchen. "Mama Mia! I'm going on break!"
Izuku made his way upstairs and knocked on the door leading to Ryuu's room. Each of the girls had a room on the third floor. "Come in." She said. Izuku then opened that door and Ryuu was sitting on her bed.
It looked like she had been waiting on him. 'She knew.' "Hey, I got a question to ask you." Izuku started off with.
"Go ahead." She said back. Izuku then fully entered the room and closed the door behind him. He sat down on a chair. "What does it mean to be a hero?" He asked.
Ryuu looked at the roof for a second. "A hero is someone who saves people. Who can beat any villain no matter how strong they are."
"Thought so." Izuku said. "Thanks." He got up. He got his answer and now he wanted to go home.
"What do you want to be?" Ryuu asked before Izuku could leave.
"I don't know."
Was all he said before he left and made his way back home.
Ryuu continued to look at her door. Until her phone buzzed.
She got a text about a job. Security detail. She replied quickly saying she would take it.
