Big Issues
AN: This is just a small filler bit to keep the gap from growing too large while filling in some blanks that I believe need to be addressed. Also, if anyone has questions regarding the story so far that you believe that I may have glossed over in the writing or simply may need some further explanation for clarity, please leave your questions in the reviews and I'll answer them as best as I can.
I know this one question has been asked before but in regards to those putting on weight in this series, no plans of anyone growing too large to walk were ever conceived. Some may add some weight or lose from this point but nothing to truly hinder their movements much.
As for those losing weight, they will be going through it like any normal person does in a healthy manner- work it off. Though some may find that easier than others. At the same time, aura's ability to help heal minor wounds and such would help them push harder and longer than those without. It also helps that many of those affected by The Issue are already highly active and are used to intense exercise.
As for the Semblances of Denko and Anya, we finally got to see them revealed rather than subtle hints through the previous chapters. Though once explained what they are, some of those hints will stand out.
Denko Mori - His Semblance is Dynamo. This allows Denko to draw in any outside source of electricity that comes within range, mix it with his aura to amplify its power several times over -if needed, and redirect it with some control. He cannot use his own bioelectric pulses from his nervous system but he could use someone else's.
It does come with some limitations. The initial spark will dictate how strong the final discharge could be- if it is weak like static, he may be able to amplify the power to a shock baton at best with several seconds of buildup. At the same time, a powerful spark like natural lightning would be at his current limits, able to draw it like a lightning rod before redirecting it in a new direction. If he is able to amplify that bolt to any noticeable degree is unknown due to lack of testing.
The requirement of an outside source is why his armor, the vest, arm, and shin guards, are filled with Lightning Dust. Usually, the highest quality and finely ground as possible for the best results, in his opinion. When activated, the armor glows blue thanks to the Dust within them. His weapon, Raijin and the short sword hidden within, Sprite, also have their own supplies of Lightning Dust within them, allowing them to be used at range when needed by way of small lightning bolts hurled at a target(s).
But due to the dangerous nature of lightning and its often unpredictable nature, Denko does not like to use his Semblance often, usually practicing it solo or with his teammates at a safe distance. In actual battles, whether with Grimm or human/faunus, the use of Dynamo is often held as a last resort to surprise his enemies. Even then, it is often confined to his weapons to serve as some form of control and deception.
Anya Eaglewing -Her Semblance is called Essence. At it's most basic, Essence can drain the aura from every source around Anya within a certain range into herself to replenish and bolster her own. As a consequence, she has the inability to turn it off as many Semblances can be, forcing her to concentrate to control it at all times to avoid. This also makes her a light sleeper, as she has learned to keep herself controlled while doing so out of habit from intensive training. Even with the tight control over Essence, the drain is constant but has been limited to being barely noticeable to most around her.
At the same time, the draining can be focused and empowered, much like a vacuum that only takes in aura. This does make her an excellent choice to deal with other Huntsmen and Huntresses as she could drain them to be like a defenseless civilian without their aura unlocked. While untested, it is believed that Anya could kill by absorbing all of a target's aura and by extension, their soul.
What has been tested and refined is her ability to capture another person's Semblance within a special glass vial. It is limited to Semblances that are projected from the originator with limited control. She has regular access to Denko's Dynamo and has contained a large discharge in one such vial. Her sister's Air Cannon is another that she keeps on hand for use. She cannot use Semblances such as Itazura's Fox Fire which while it does have a projectile part to it in its blue flames, it requires a mental connection with the user to do anything more than scare a target with harmless blue flames.
