The Harry Potter Naming Thread Chapter 32: The Naming of Tracey Davis, a harry potter fanfic

.net

Travis Davis needed to clear his head.

Travis was due to become a first time father in a fortnight and he still hadn't chosen a name for his daughter.

He knew there were lots of good girls' names he could chose from. He just wasn't sure which one was the right one to bestow upon his daughter. He had debated name after name within the last few weeks and never felt sure what the right name was.

Travis realized now that he needed to clear his head and he knew how he could do that.

It was a calm and peaceful night with no storms and Travis decided to take a walk around the block.

While he was on his walk, the quiet and the peaceful atmosphere of the night sky gave Travis the freedom to think slowly and clearly. This was exactly what Travis needed.

After a minute and a nanosecond of silent thought, it settled in on Travis that the qualities he most admired were bravery and a fighting spirit.

It then occurred to Travis that he could also kill two birds with one stone with the perfect choice of name for his daughter.

Travis's name started with the letter T. His wife's name was Terresa, another name that started with the letter T.

It would be cool to give his daughter a name that also started with the letter T.

Travis remembered that the name Tracey meant "warlike", "brave" and "fighter"

Here, Travis had the opportunity to both fulfill his desire to start his daughter's name with the letter T while simultaneously honoring the traits he valued most.

Somehow, someway, without knowing how he knew it, Travis Davis KNEW that his daughter would be able to live up to those traits.

If a time came when Travis's daughter would have to be brave, his heart told him she would be.

And all Davises had always had that fighting spirit. His heart of hearts told him his daughter would carry on that legacy.

Tracey Davis would always be a fighter. She would act bravely whenever the situation called for it.

And she would fight to the end, even when she had nothing left to give. It would be her fighting spirt that would define her.

Sometimes, you just needed a peaceful and quiet setting to clear your head and make a decision.

Going on that walk had been the best decision Travis could have made.

With a clear head, Travis calmly came to his conclusion Tracey would be his daughter's name.

He would continue the family's tradition of T's while representing in his daughter's name the traits he valued most and wished for his daughter to possess.

In a fortnight, Tracey Davis would come into the world and add more fighting spirit to it.
