Dennis Dunbar was taking a warm bubble bath.
Taking warm bubble baths brought Dennis into a state of peace, calm, and contentment that allowed his mind to think freely.
Dennis had a daughter that was due in a few weeks, and he needed that peace, calm, and contentment while mulling over potential names for her.
Dennis was a wizard and if he was truly honest with himself, he desperately wanted his daughter to be a witch. He was likely to get his wish there as squibs were exceedingly rare. He wished his daughter to carry a name that represented the magical nature of his family.
But he didn't want being a witch to be the only thing that would define his daughter.
The trait of loyalty was incredibly important to Dennis's value system and his heart's greatest desire was to have a daughter who would be defined by her loyalty.
Dennis wanted a daughter who would be loyal to her family, her friends, and all people who support her.
Dennis thought about this internally.
"I hope my daughter will never fall out a friend over something as trivial as a stupid rat, " thought Dennis to himself in the bath.
After a few more seconds and a few more nanoseconds, Dennis thought to himself, "If my daughter is ever in a war situation, she had BETTER NOT betray and abandon her two best friends on the road during their darkest hour."
Quickly coming back to the naming process, Dennis asked himself, "Is there a name for my daughter that can represent both of my wishes?"
The calm and peace of the warm bubble bath allowed Dennis's mind to operate without distraction.
he thought over several names carefully and a few minutes later arrived at the one that felt right.
"Fay!" exclaimed Dennis in his own mind, "My daughter shall be Fay Dunbar. Fay means magic and fairy, but it also means loyalty and trust."
Dennis felt himself get goosebumps as he realized he had found the exact right name for his daughter.
Dennis suddenly and happily had all his hopes for his daughter flash before his eyes.
He wanted her to be magical and successful with her magic.
He wanted her to make good friends within the magical world.
And he wanted her to remain steadfastly loyal to her family and friends no matter what. No falling outs and no betrayals.
As Fay meant magic, naming his daughter Fay Dunbar allowed Dennis to represent his family's magical lineage in the name of the daughter who would continue that magical Dunbar legacy.
Dennis created imagines in his own mind of Fay Dunbar holding a wand and conjuring beautiful songbirds.
But the name Fay Dunbar also allowed Dennis to represent the trait of loyalty that it was his priority to instill in his daughter.
He would have talks with Fay early and often from a very young age about the concept of loyalty and how important it was.
He imagined a daughter who would always stick be her family and friends no matter what.
If he raised her right, Far Dunbar would be a genuine person whose loyalty would never waver. That was what mattered most.
Dennis Dunbar wished for his daughter to be both a magical person and a loyal person.
He had chosen the perfect name to represent that.
In a few weeks, Fay Dunbar would come into the world.
