For the third time in eight years, Bill Weasley was an expectant father.

The first time around, he had named his first child and daughter Victoire. Victoire's birthday had fallen on May 2nd, 2000, the 2 year anniversary of the triumph at the Battle of Hogwarts and Victoire was the French word for victory.

Four years later, Bill had named his second daughter Dominique, simply because he loved the name.

It was yet four years later still and this time Bill was closing in on becoming a father to a son.

When Bill had asked his parents and siblings to meet him at the Three Broomsticks a few days before his son's due date, they all knew what was up.

"So," said Charlie knowingly, "I am guessing you have called us here today to announce the name you have chosen for your son."

"Right you are, Charlie, " said Bill glowingly, "I have made the decision to name my son Louis."

"Louis," said Percy thoughtfully, "Doesn't Louis mean renowned warrior."

"It does, " said Bill proudly, "And that's why I'm bestowing the name Louis upon my son."

"You always did value courage and bravery, Bill, " said Ron matter of factly.

"I do, " said Bill solemnly, "Look, I hope my son never has to fight in a war or a battle. But should the occasion of war arise whilst my son is of a certain age, I would want him to be a warrior. I wouldn't want him standing on the sidelines while others were fighting for something bigger than themselves."

"That's the tough part of being a parent, " said Arthur gravely, "You hate seeing your children on the battlefield, but you want them to have the bravery and the courage to fight."

"Bill naming his son Louis could also be a tribute to all who have been warriors and to the traits of courage and bravery, ' piped up Ginny.

"Absolutely, Ginny," said Bill approvingly, "There are no more noble traits than bravery and courage."

"Bill, " said Arthur seriously, "I am extremely proud of the way you fought valiantly during both Wizarding Wars."

"Thanks, dad," said Bill humbly, "But I'm not a hero. I did what I had to do."

"I wish neither Wizarding War had ever happened, " said Molly fretfully.

"So do all who live to see such times, " replied Bill, "But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

"Wise words from a wise wizard, " nodded Arthur.

"I also have another announcement, " declared Bill.

"Which is?" asked Charlie.

"Louis will be my last child. Three has always been the number of children I've wanted. Let it be Victoire, Dominique, and Louis, " exclaimed Bill.

Bill's face relaxed into the calmest and most content state any of them had ever seen on it.

Bill giving his son the name Louis, a name that meant renowned warrior felt fitting.

Bill himself had always been brave and had always valued courage and bravery above all other traits.

Paying tribute to those very traits by naming his son Louis felt like the right way for Bill to name his last child.

Arthur, Molly, Charlie, Percy, George, Ron, and Ginny all smiled at Bill, happy for him as he closed in on fatherhood for the third and final time.

I should also say as a note of interest that I am willing to consider requests for this thread. Is there any particular character whose naming you'd like to see a chapter on? Is there any particular setting you'd like to see the name announcement or determination take place in? You can make requests via either reviews or PM. Fair warning that there is no guarantee of any particular request being granted but I'm open to listening to ideas.
