Qimmia made her way through the crowd, and even witnessed some people taking pictures of Steele and his team. As the fellow sled dogs congratulated the vain lead dog, Qimmia overheard Steele's musher say to the photographer with concern, "Hmmm. I dunno, you think maybe Steele's losing his edge?"

"Yeah, looks like just about any dog can outrun him!" the photographer answered as he put his equipment away.

The Inupiat girl then looked over and saw Steele growling when he heard the remark about a dog outrunning him, and then he turned his attention over when he heard a familiar young voice say, "Balto! What a crazy thing to do! Just to show off for a pretty girl!"

Qimmia also looked over and saw Rosy and Jenna with Balto; the wolf-dog was gallantly giving the little girl back her hat, while also giving Jenna a loving smile. Qimmia gave a stern look as she made her way towards Balto.

Rosy then decided to place her sled's harness onto the wolf-dog as she smiled, "I'm sure Jenna would love to have you…"

"Hey, hey, hey, hey!" Rosy's father called as he rushed over to his daughter, "Rosy, stay away from that dog!" He took Rosy by the arms, and then began kicking snow at Balto, making him back out of the sled harness.

"Dad!" Rosy pouted.

"He might bite you, honey, he's part wolf!" Rosy's father said the little girl.

"Bite her?" asked a familiar female voice. Qimmia angrily put her hands on her hips as she ranted to Rosy's father, "Balto would NEVER do a thing like that! I know, because I've stayed by his side since birth!"

"And how would you know, madam?" Rosy's father inquired, "Don't you know that wolves are dangerous?"

"Not the wolves I've met in my travels!" Qimmia snapped, "For your information, my people and I have a great deal of respect for these animals! So, you leave my friend alone!"

"Friend?" Rosy's father asked before he frowned at the Inupiat girl, "He's a beast who is NOT to be trusted by anyone here in Nome!"

"Well, now you hurt their feelings!" Rosy argued at her father.

"Rosy, come on, now," Rosy's father told his daughter as he motioned for her and the female husky to go.

Qimmia glared at the father before she sternly looked at Balto and simply said, "Come."

Steele had seen the whole scene as he let out a sinister chuckle, and then Dixie and Sylvie walked over to him. Dixie excitedly and hastily grinned to Steele, "Congratulations on facilitation, Steele!"

"Ladies," the male husky said, making Dixie shiver with delight and slump with love. Steele made his way over to Jenna and seductively greeted her, "Hi, there, Jenna. Enjoy the race?"

"Yeah, almost as much as you did," Jenna said with an uninterested look.

"Thanks," Steele said as he followed her, "Jenna, Jenna, let's go celebrate! I know where all the bones are buried!"

Jenna sighed with boredom and said, "I dunno, Steele. Suddenly I've lost my appetite."

"Oh," Steele said as he cracked his shoulders, "Well, maybe your taste runs more toward… wolf."

"Jenna, come on, girl!" Rosy called to her dog, "We're going back home!"

"Sorry, Steele," Jenna said as she walked away from Steele, "My girl's calling me."

Dixie came up to Steele in a seductive way and sweetly said, "Only a fan… my girl is away at boarding school." She touched Steele's collar with her paw, but Steele walked away from her. He brushed his tail at her, making her fall over in the snow.

Meanwhile, Qimmia, Balto, and Boris were walking on a quiet street as Qimmia lectured her wolf-dog, "Balto, what were you thinking? You could've been seriously hurt by those dogs! Retrieving a hat just to show off! The very idea of coming here in the first place!"

"But, Qimmia," Balto argued with her, "Jenna is so… so… beautiful!"

Qimmia sighed and said with annoyance, "Balto, how many times must I tell you – we have to be careful around these people! My grandmother and parents have told me stories about white people…"

"Why do you have to be so negative with something that's different?" Balto shot at her.

"JENNA!" called Rosy's voice.

Balto turned his head, and then ran to find Jenna as Rosy called her dog's name again.

"Not again!" Qimmia muttered.

Boris rolled his eyes.

Balto ran through an alley until he slid over to Jenna upon the snow. Jenna gasped, and Balto chuckled, "Um, Jenna, I, uh…"

"Jenna!" called the voice of Rosy's father.

"Jenna, come on!" added Rosy.

"Balto!" Qimmia called from a short distance.

Jenna gave a nervous look as she noticed her owners walking away, and then she looked to find that Balto was gone through a fence's missing post. Jenna went over to the fence and tried sniffing Balto out, but Rosy's father called, "Jenna! Come here, girl!"

The red husky had no other choice but to obey her master; she ran off to catch up with Rosy and her family.

Balto saw Jenna leave, and sighed with disappointment. A familiar female voice then cleared her throat, getting his attention. "We should go now, Balto," Qimmia said with an annoyed frown, "I've had enough of Nome for one day."

"Sorry, Qimmia," Balto sighed before he, Boris, and Qimmia walked through an alley.

"Balto, there's some things I can't do for you," Boris added.

"Yeah, I know," Balto sighed.

"I'm goose – not Cupid!" Boris said.

"Didn't make the team, Bingo?" a familiar voice sneered from behind the trio.

Qimmia and Balto looked back and saw Steele smirking at them.

"Don't listen to him," Boris whispered to his friends, "Don't look at him. Live a long life!"

"My name's Balto!" the wolf-dog frowned at Steele.

"Balto, he's just a bully," Qimmia said to her furry friend.

"But you could call him idiot!" Boris added.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Steele chuckled maliciously, "Balto. Balto the half-breed and his dog-loving Eskimo!"

"Oh, ha, ha, ha!" added the voices of three other dogs. These were Nikki, Kaltag, and Star, Steele's teammates.

Steele went over to Boris and sneered at him, "Well, Goose! You a hybrid, too? Part turkey?" With that, he pushed Boris into a discarded turkey dish, and the lid slammed.

"How dare you?!" snarled Qimmia.

"Good word play, boss!" Nikki chuckled.

Kaltag rambled, "You are the wittiest, the quickest, the drollest, the cleverest, the sharpest; you are the most hilarious…"

"You crack me up!" Star added before he laughed hysterically. Kaltag just frowned and punched him on the head with his paw, sending Star to fall into the snow.

Qimmia had seen Boris get thrown into the dish, and she glared at Steele, "You leave my friends alone, you son of a wolverine!"

"WHOA!" Nikki, Kaltag, and Star all said in unison with mockery.

"Steele, you leave Boris and Qimmia out of this!" Balto frowned at Steele.

Steele just made his way to his friends as he sneered at the wolf-dog, "Oh, Balto, I've got a message for your mother." Then, he began to howl like a wolf.

Nikki, Kaltag, and Star all laughed and joined in, too.

"How dare they make fun of my late mother?" Balto growled at Qimmia before he bared his teeth at Steele and his friends.

"Hey, Balto, translate this for me, will you?" Kaltag sneered before howling.

"Balto, don't fight him!" Qimmia warned her furry friend.

Boris, meanwhile, came out of the roasting dish and then grabbed Balto by the tail to try and stop him. "Balto, stop!" the goose cried, "NO!"

Soon, Steele and his friends saw Balto baring his teeth, and they all shuddered. But Steele then glared and ordered his friends, "Get him. And his little Eskimo, too!"

Nikki, Kaltag, and Star all barked ferociously at Balto and Qimmia, and Steele sneered to Balto, "Get outta here, wolf-dog! You'd better get back to your PACK! And stop hanging around that human!" He spat onto Balto's muzzle at the last part.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Qimmia angrily yelled.

"And you can go back to your whale-licking, wolf-loving village, Dog-Girl!" Steele growled at her.

"Enough already!" Qimmia screamed as she clenched her fists.

"Qimmia, Balto, maybe not talking fear, but maybe we take his advice!" Boris advised as he turned to run, "Maybe we go, now!"

The three friends turned to run, and then Steele and his friends started kicking snow at them; one of them even kicked a rock at Balto, making him trip over into a pile of garbage cans.

Qimmia gasped when she saw Balto fall, and then she lost her temper at Steele and his friends. She angrily ran over to them and kicked Star on the rear.

"OUCH!" cried Star.

Then, Qimmia angrily kicked Nikki and Kaltag away.

"Hey, come on!" Nikki smiled weakly, "We was just havin' some fun!"

"FUN?" Qimmia growled, "You call bullying FUN? How DARE you insult me, my people, Balto, or his late mother! If you EVER do anything like this again…"

"Are you gonna take one of your whalebone tools and rip us to pieces with it?" Steele asked with a mean smirk, "Oh, we're scared out of our wits!"

Nikki, Kaltag, and Star chuckled at his remark.

"And there's nothing you can do about it," Steele finished, "Because our mushers and owners are not LIKE you – or your people!"

Qimmia just glared and growled with anger before she stormed off to catch up with her friends. "One of these days, all four of you will be sorry!" she angrily muttered under her breath.
