Friendship, Maine – 1995
It was a dark night with a full moon in the sky. A coyote could be heard howling as the wind blew among the gates to an old mansion known as Whipstaff Manor. Two young boys rode their bikes and then skidded at the gates. They both looked in through those gates and one of them said, "Okay. One picture and we're history!"
The other boy turned and said, "That's what I'm afraid of!"
They then dropped to the ground and started crawling under the gate before they got back on their feet and ran on the path leading to the manor. It was a very old-fashioned and creepy looking manor with domes topping off its roofs and towers.
The boys arrived at the main door and one of them gasped, "Oh, man! Do we have to do this?"
"Hey, you want everyone in school to think we're chicken?" the other boy asked.
"I can live with that!"
"Come on!" the braver boy said as he opened the door.
The inside of the manor was dark and dusty as the boys walked in and gasped. "Whoa!" they whispered, "Oh, man!"
"I don't see anything, do you?" The frightened boy asked.
"No," the other boy answered, "I don't see anything."
"Uh, let's just take the picture and get out of here," the frightened boy said.
"Fine, fine!" the brave boy said as he handed his friend the camera, "Take the picture!" He then got in front of his friend to be in the picture.
"Hey, wait a minute!" the frightened boy said with annoyance, "I gotta be in the picture, too! No one will believe I'm with you!"
"Just shut up and take the picture!" his friend ordered.
The two boys then argued over who should have the camera until a young male voice said, "Guys, guys! Don't fight!" An unseen ghost floated by and took the camera as he politely insisted, "I'll take the picture!" The boys frightfully looked up as the ghost said, "Say, 'cheese'!"
As the ghost took their picture, the boys screamed, "A GHOST!" They dropped their flashlights and ran out of the mansion as fast as they could while the picture fell out of the camera. Before long the image showed those two boys looking on with terrified expressions.
