The most special and deeply personal experience that any person could ever experience was the experience of becoming a father.
That was especially true for dads who were lucky to welcome their sons and daughters into the world on Father's Day.
On Sunday, June 19th, 2022, that was exactly the special occasion that awaited Scott Smart a young first time father and Ravenclaw alum who had graduated from Hogwarts three years prior as a straight O student at N.E.W.T. level having taken Potions, Herbology, Charms, Transfiguration, and Defense Against the Dark Arts.
As Father's Day approached and it became clearer and clearer that Scott's son might well be a Father's Day baby. Scott had kept his fingers crossed hoping for this outcome.
Things worked out for Scott, as his baby boy came into the world on Father's Day 2022 at 2:22 A.M.
"So," asked the nurse holding Scott's son's birth certificate, "Scott, what are you naming your son?"
Scott hadn't given this matter as much though as he should have in his focus on hoping to become a father to a Father's Day baby.
No matter.
"Precious," decided Scott on a whim, "The most precious experience any person can ever undergo is the experience of becoming a father and my son will be the most precious thing in my life. "
"I bet it's even more precious to have it happen on Father's Day," said the nurse.
Scott mimicked the sound of a bell ringing.
"To be honest, " said Scott slowly, "Ever since I knew it was a possibility, I've been desperately hoping that would be on Father's Day that my son would come into the world. The fates smiled upon me today."
"Congratulations, Scott," said the nurse kindly, "Precious is the perfect name for a baby like this."
"It is," said Scott fondly, "I'm a first time father and I can say point blank with one thousand percent confidence that nothing in my life has ever has meant as much to me as my son means to me now."
"Good luck," the nurse told Scott as she handed him the completed birth certificate bearing Precious Smart.
Looking down at it, Scott got goosebumps. He shed a few tears of happiness.
Of all of the fathers in the world, he was in a subset of the luckiest.
He was a Father's Day father.
It didn't matter that he hadn't done his homework on baby names, the only time in his life he hadn't done his homework. Heck, maybe that was the way it was meant to be.
The perfect name of Precious Smart for his son had presented itself to him so naturally in his own mind that it now felt to Scott as though fate was on his side.
He had wished upon a star and his dream had come true.
As he held his baby for the first time, Scoot told his son:
"Precious, you are the most precious part of my life, now, always, and forever. "
