Trent Davies found himself engulfed in a juxtaposition of events.
He was a man living through a war. Lord Voldemort was in power and continuing to gain followers.
Trent was a muggleborn who had lost both parents nary a year prior in one the Death Eaters' random muggle attacks.
Times were ominous for the Wizarding World and especially for muggleborns. There also seemed to no end in sight for the war or for Lord Voldemort's time in power.
Every day was filled with tension.
But there was a silver lining for Trent amongst all the dark and gray clouds.
He had a son due in two weeks and the prospect of his son coming into the world lifted his spirits exponentially.
As his son's due date drew nearer and nearer, Trent knew that he had to make a decision that all fathers had to make; the choice of name for his child.
Trent decided to take a bath to ponder the name he would bestow upon his son to be.
"You know," thought Trent to himself as he let the warm bath water wash over him, "With my son being a wartime baby, I'd like to give him a name in honor of great warriors. Ultimately, wars are won be the bravest of men, those who stand up to the worst of enemies."
Trent knew he couldn't name his son solider or warrior. Such a name would be too awkward for a child to carry.
Fortunately, Trent had previous read books about naming babies and about what certain names meant. Trent didn't have such books on him at this nanosecond, but he would just have to concentrate and use his memory to bring information back into his head.
"So?" Trent pondered in his head, "What are some names that mean warrior?"
As he took in the warm bath and focused his mind on finding the right name for his baby, Trent's concentration was total and utterly complete.
Finally, after a few minutes and a few nanoseconds, Trent came to his decision.
"Roger," declared Trent to himself, "My son shall be known as Roger Davies. Roger means famous warrior. In naming my son Roger, I am paying tribute to all the warriors out there."
Trent calmly sat there in his bathtub for a period of time that seemed to pass slowly but quite peacefully.
Trent felt all the contentment and peacefulness of a man who was completely at ease with and at peace with the decision he had made. His calmness told him he had made the right choice. Roger was the name for his son.
As Trent continued to sit in the bath, something else began to happen; Trent began to feel more and more hopeful about the war against Lord Voldemort.
Before he had gotten in the bathtub and selected the name of Roger for his son, Trent was still feeling pessimistic about the war. Lord Voldemort had gained so much power and any chance of defeating him seemed hopeless.
Now that he had given his own son a name that meant famous warrior, Trent felt increasingly optimistic. He started to think about how there really were warriors in the world. How there were people who really would stand up to Lord Voldemort. How some brave men would risk everything for something bigger than themselves.
"To all the warriors out there, " felt Trent, "I give you Roger Davies, the name of my son."
